Stopped by for lunch and tried the shrimp pesto. It was a great value for the price and the fresh bread was spot on. The establishment was nice and their menu offered a wide variety of salads, sandwiches soup, pasta, and your regular coffee drinks. What I appreciate the most was the staff. Stopped in to check it out since my daughter told me they sell cake by the slice! It did not disappoint. I had the Coconut Cream Cake and it was THE BEST CAKE I have ever had! My wife’s cousin and two small children were visiting from Colorado. Her 1 1/2yr old son has several food allergies. We were there during a busy lunch hour. They were very patient and accommodating to her requests for her sons food preparation needs. All of our food came out together in a timely manner. Everything was delicious. Not only do we LOVE eating at Main Street (the drive thru is lifesaving for a busy Mom who wants a healthy, local option for her kiddos! ) but my daughter recently had a cake decorating birthday party with her friends at their Ankeny location. Amazing place to eat! My family is always looking for a place that has a variety of everything that the adults and kids will love. The staff was so helpful and accommodating with our needs as well. So far pretty good! We got in and recieved our food pretty quickly. They bring your food to you and bus the tables once you're done. Wide variety of things are available. Yes it may be a little more expensive than McD (read through some other reviews to address things). Still on par with some similar noodle shops I've gone to.

Huge variety of food and dessert. Their mac and cheese and their pastas are VERY good. Their cheesecake is outstanding. Expect to spend around $10 for a meal and $5 for a dessert.

Interesting cafe. Soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta, assorted specialty fruit type drinks. And then there is the bakery with cakes, cookies, bars and brownies. In other words, if it includes lots of sugar, it must be under glass somewhere in the cafe. It is exactly the kind of place my wife should not go.
Order at the counter and served at the table. Service was fast and friendly. Food tasted good -- not great- but good and the portions we're rather small for the price. Thus only four stars. Would I go back? Sure. Too much on the menu I haven't tried not to go back. More...

Food is so yummy! I keep going back for their wicked tai soup. Watch out for the bakery, it will trap you with it's incredible cakes, cinnamon rolls and all sorts of goodness. We have visited Main Street Cafe and Bakery a few times now. We are always happy and never disappointed. Perfect portions of food made fresh at great prices. Fast service and very friendly service. Every time I go, I’m left stuffed and still wanting more (because it’s THAT good). The gluten-free selection is fantastic. I have no idea how the g-free cakes and donuts are so delicious and fluffy. First time and enjoyed tremendously. Helpful manager explaining menu and process. Food was quickly served and tasty. I come here often to work on school work. I may sit here and have a coffee or tea with one of their bakery goodies or I will get a meal. I've only have had their soup and sandwiches as a meal, and they are so delicious! There coffee options are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G and the desserts are to die for. They are always changing the different types of cake and danish options. My favorite cake is the kit-kat chocolate cake and favorite coffees are raspberry mocha and pumpkin cheesecake. I was first introduced by a friend to come here a year ago, and now Its my go to very relaxing and cozy by the fireplace. Its a very popular place, people come here often to work on business, and many families come here with their children. The owner is well involved, and him and his staff are very kind.
