I was so happy to find this place! I popped out of Penn Station and yelped florists nearby and Mahir had great reviews, so I made them my first stop. I was glad to have done so, because their arrangements were beautiful and the two woman working there were very friendly. Mahir Florist is one of the best in the city!!! They consistently deliver high quality/premium arrangements.  Their flower selection is always top notch (no cheap filler flowers).  I've used them for two special occasions (40th birthday and my annual holiday party).  Each time their flowers were the show stopper of the event and garnered many compliments.  Most recently I used them for my holiday party.  One of the arrangements when delivered was not as I expected it to be.  I panicked because my event was within the hour.  In less than 1 hour the Mahir team redid the arrangements and delivered them to me nearly 100 city blocks away in NYC taffies- all before my event began.  That is customer service at its finest.  Abu (owner) and the entire Mahir team take exceptional pride in their product and service.  They will be my go to florist for now on.  You won't be disappointed! Our experience with Mahir Florist on West 28 th street in Nyc was the most positive experience we have ever had with a company! The moment we sat down  to talk about our event  at the Crosby Street Hotel in NYC the owner and staff, at Mahir Florist were right on our page. The day of the event, December 9,2018 the flowers were delivered on time , placed on tables and the magnificent arrangement of monstera leaves and colored sand in glass vases stopped all the guests to gasp at how gorgeous the arrangements were at our event!In summary, every moment from beginning to end was a complete stressless experience. I was in the market for some air plants and supplies for a DIY project this past Tuesday. There a number of plant store on 28th street but Mahir Floral really stood out. There are some plants outside in front of the store and the man there was friendly and helpful. When I stepped inside, it smelled DELICIOUSLY and was so aesthetically pleasing! They sell flowers, plants and also candles among other beautiful things. I browsed around and another young man inside was very sweet, knowledgeable and helpful. He helped me to find a few small plants and let me know that they could help to arrange them for me for free and even offered some chocolate:) They sell Godiva chocolate in store as well. My boyfriend paid extra for a particular premium bouquet featured on teleflora however, the description sent to the florist didn't match the picture at al! ! What they sent was "florist choice mixed arrangement" with no description of flowers or product. The team at Mahir took it upon themselves to do the best they could to match the bouquet (right before closing on Valentine's Day) but they even though telefora's vague/lack of description is at fault. I needed to order a very specific floral arrangement for my boss's wife this Valentine's Day. They recently moved from the Upper West side to Chelsea. I came across Mahir on YELP from their positive ratings. I admit I was a little nervous to order from a florist that I have never physically been to, but I decided to take the plunge since they had many positive reviews. I called on Monday 2/13 and spoke to Tasmina. She was wonderful right from the start. I explained to her exactly what my boss wanted. He is extremely particular and has very high expectations. Tasmina was great. She stayed in constant contact with me throughout the entire process via email. She even sent me pictures of the arrangement when it was done prior to it being delivered so I could ensure it would be up to my boss's expectations. My husband and I were visiting our daughter at NYU and wanted to get her a nice bouquet of flowers before we left for the airport that same afternoon, but had no luck finding fresh and healthy arrangements; that is, until we stumbled upon this shop. We actually took a taxi from the Chelsey area over to 28th St. between 6th and 7th Avenue because according to Google, it is the Flower District, so we naturally thought it might be our best bet for picking up something pretty to demonstrate our love and pride in her. We were running tight on time, with less than an hour to search, and at first, we both had our doubts we would ever manage to locate the right sort of bouquet. Much of what we saw on 28th were large and exotic plants, and very little in the way of cut flowers, especially out on the street for passerbys to notice. However, we were just about to give up and purchase a bunch of anything from the next corner market in sight, when fortunately, we spoted this shop and their outside display of beautiful flowers. We were immediately drawn to one bouquet in particular, mainly due to their extreme freshness, the presence of a couple of shades of purple blended with other gorgeous colors, and the reasonable price of $35 for a good size arrangement. We did brouse the shop itself, but still went with our initial choice from outside, since most of their inventory seemed to be large stemed plants and flowers. The shop definitely looks high-end, yet the owner/salesperson was warm and friendly. In fact, he was kind enough to wrap up the bouquet, and put a lovely purple bow around it as a final touch. Also, when we mentioned to him that there was a 10% discount offered by his place through Yelp, he was completely agreeable to honoring the deal. Best of all about the purchase, our daughter truly seemed to like her flowers, saying she set them on the kitchen table to try and make their apartment style dorm more homey. If and when we need another bouquet or exotic plant as a gift, we will certainly keep in mind this shop. We were really surprised to experience so much trouble finding fresh and healthy floral arrangements on almost every single corner like we usually are able to do, but perhaps the problem has much to do with the unbearable heat in NYC right now. We moved into our new office and needed some floral for the unveiling. Due to the craziness of everything I left this at the last minute. Saw this florist on Yelp and decided to take a chance as all our regular florists were not available to do this on short notice. Abu took my order and really seems to care about his work. Ultra cool place to purchase amazing plants-they've got a wide variety too, from common houseplants to exotic succulents and "air plants". Prices are  reasonable for the area, they're actually much cheaper than most places. There space inside is much nicer and public friendly than many of their competitors nearby. Plus, at least when I was there a gorgeous woman was working the counter. I'll be back here for sure if I need some cool, sexy foliage. More...

I came here for flowers today looking for a last minute mother's day flower bouquet. I have to say, the people who work here are amazingly helpful and kind. They first asked me my budget and what kind of flowers I want and helped me choose assorted flowers to go with the ones I wanted. The bouquet of flowers came out gorgeous! The bouquet came out to a little over $100, which was a bit over my budget, but after seeing how the arrangement came out, it was a well worth it. I was actually walking by Mahir on my way to another Floral store.  Mahir had some gorgeous bouquets with exotic flowers on display in front of the store so I stopped and looked at them.  The one thing I immediately noticed was that they were NOT trying to pass off dying/old flowers off.  The bouquets were fresh and gorgeous.I took a bouquet into the store to pay for it.  A gentlemen (don't know his name) helped me and as he was preparing the flowers i asked if he had a vase as the bouquet was for a co-workers birthday.  He showed me a vase and created a sophisticated display and did not just put the bouquet into a plain vase and ring me up.He took the time to make the bouquet elegant looking.  The whole thing was $35 and I know any other place outside the flower district it would have easily been a $100 bouquet.The store was beautiful and had some amazing displays of flowers.I highly recommend this place and will be going back for all my floral needs! Gorgeous flower shop that is extremely clean and organized with staff that obviously take pride in their quality work and customer service. I needed a last minute house warming present for a friend and stopped by around 7pm right as they were closing. Before that, I was rudely rejected by a bunch of other shops on the block, but Mahir Floral quickly welcomed me in and helped me decide on my quick purchase for a plant. I was meeting some friends that were visiting from out of town and I just wanted to get them a modest little bouquet for the recent loss of their mother.  Mahir staff worked within my budget and did it quickly, as I was doing this all on the fly.  Both bouquet's were beautiful.  The two sister's were touched and took the bouquet's to the Church of St. Ignatius and left them in reverence for the Patron Saint of Spiritual Healing as well as in gratitude for the extended time they were able to have with their mother. .  This shop's customer service and artistry are aces!  I highly recommend. Got the most beautiful flowers from here as a gift! Purple calla lilies with pink peonies, roses, and white babys breath. Probably the most beautiful flowers I've gotten in my life ! My experience was a bit different than the other reviewers, but the service was just as amazing. One afternoon at work, I decided to go out and get a Gerber daisy to put in a bud vase for a coworker who was having a bad day. Should be pretty simple in NYC, right? Bodegas on every corner sell them. Unfortunately my office is located in the heart of the flower district, where every store for blocks sells amazing flower arrangements but not-a-one sells single cut flowers. I popped into about seven or eight stores before landing at Mahir. I was immediately intimidated because the store is so beautiful and looks very high-end. I was about to walk out when Christine asked what I was looking for. I explained that I really just needed a cut flower to fill a bud vase and she responded with, "Oh we have plenty of flowers that you can put in a bud vase!" I braced myself for a sales pitch where she would try to talk me into getting a huge arrangement, but to my surprise she and Abu pulled out some beautiful, individually cut roses to show me. I chose the prettiest one and Abu wrapped it up for me. I was flabbergasted by their amazing customer service-- they really took their time with me. Even though I was only spending $4, they treated me like I was picking out flowers for a wedding reception!
