Great dinner Friday night at the bar. Bill took very good care of us and the new Chef Veronica's food was outstanding. My wife had a beautiful salad to start and I had the mussels in a very unique broth that had a nice kick to it. We shared the Lasagna and Fettucini with Lamb Ragu (the special) and both were superb. Fresh Pasta and homemade bread also! Our meals were great and the portions were perfect, a rarity in restaurants. More...
Very nice and Great Jazz
Brilliant food! Chef Veronica is extremely talented. Run don't walk!
Authentic Roman cuisine.
I went to Giorgio's last night with my folks. I live in sarasota but they are snow birds. When they come to town this is the only place they want to eat! BEST ITALIAN FOOD IN THE CITY! The portions are enormous and very reasonably priced. I ordered one of the specials last night, a spicy goat cheese and shrimp risotto. It blew my socks off and I hope chef Mark considers making it a permanent dish. Mark came out and talked to us about our order before hand to make sure he knew about any special requests we might have. We wanted a family style salad for the middle of the table that was not on the menu and he obliged immediately.
If you want a true Italian meal, go to Giorgio's. We had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners last night as well. He was having dinner with his whole family. They're all real Italian's. They definitely became part of the restaurants atmosphere. And you know if real Roman Italians are eating at an Italian restaurant, it has to be good! More...

Great food and awesome happy hour deals. Hidden gem that you should definitely check out!
My husband and I both enjoyed our meal. Service was very good, owner and son stopped by the table. We drove from east Bradenton, and it was worth the trip.
Reasonable prices. Food is tasty. Will return. Recommend. Very noisy thought. Friendly service.
Good food, excellent service, friendly atmosphere.
Excellent service. Good food. Fair prices. Great for an evening, casual dining
Great experience with the most friendly staff welcoming and hosting us! Great Italian food too!
The Garlic knot meatball sliders are a must to try Italian specialty drinks, great wine selections. This may be my favorite Italian restaurant of all time !!!
Try the build-your-own pasta!
Always a great time at Giorgio's! Great food and very friendly staff. We we're greeted by the host and again by the bar tender right away. Their desserts are very yummy!!
Usual drunks at the bar but the Lasagna was fantastic! I was born in Philly, this was a long time coming, Superbowl Champs!
From the moment we arrived the manager's greeting made us feel right at home. Our waitress, Ariana, had just the right mix of sass and service to make our time there memorable. The best part though, was the food. Pastas, sauces, meatballs, and eggplant parm were all excellent and the salads were super fresh and crispy. The dessert menu looked wonderful but unfortunately we ate too much to partake. We just happened to be there for the early bird specials and the lower prices and less than a full house were a nice surprise. Giorgio's earned a five star rating in my book! More...
Giorgio's on Hillview, which used to be the old Mercados, still looks the same outside and in, but a dramatic change in meal quality now that it's under different management. Let's start with the service, one of the most important factors of a good dining experience. The service was very good. And then there was the manager, Leon. You have to respect the confidence of a manager who, when challenged to define what a good meatball is, turns around goes right into the kitchen and brings back a meatball:-which happened to taste excellent. That was a demonstration of (-proverbially) putting one's meatball where their money is. It was good enough that I wish I had had the meatball for dessert instead of the limoncello cake but that's another story. The meal selections for our party ranged from the traditional veal parmesan to the seafood cioppino, and the chicken Giulia; all of which were well presented and well prepared. If anything detracted from our enjoying our meal it was the ambiance. Someone thought it was a good idea to have the window open this evening when it was 85 degrees outside. Also, having that front sliding door open allows all of the street-noise including passing cars & couple of obnoxious loud motorcycles into the dining room. With that door open there was nothing to stop the stink of cigars and cigarettes smoke from people milling about in front of the bar next door from coming in where we were eating. That is a decision which seriously deserves to be rethought. So while I would give this restaurant pluses for service and food, the decision to leave that sliding door open didn't help our party enjoy our meals. We will be returning, that much is certain; the food was that good. But you can bet I will be requesting a table away from the sliding doors and if they are open:- I'll be asking for them to be closed. More...
Amazing food for a delightful price. The atmosphere is great, and you simply MUST try the Alfredo sauce. It's like no other sauce I've ever tried. I've been here a few times and the dishes are always great and served up relatively quickly. Service is great and it seems like every time I go - even if it's busy - someone from upper management always checks on us at the end of our meal to ensure we were satisfied. I keep this place high on my list of favorite places to eat! More...

Sad they took the homemade spaghetti noodles off the menu. But still love the place

Good food, service, very good Sinatra mimic.
Excellent dinner! The new Chef Rebekah Peranio has brought in seasonal and regionally sourced ingredients from local farmers and producers to create gourmet traditional meals. We actually got to meet the Chef and she made the commitment that they are not using any more plastic or Styrofoam. Some of the local Sarasota restaurants are not offering plastic straws but converting back to bio-degradable paper straws. The food. We started with the Baked Goat Cheese, Herbed House Bread Crumb; Castelvetrano Olive Tapenade as an appetizer. Very good. Our entrees were:Grilled Gulf Shrimp with Confit Cherry Tomato, Black Olives, Capers and Angel Hair Pasta and Herb Roast Chicken,Agro Dolce Fingerling Potatoes, Garlic Aioli and Seasonal Vegetables. Everything was delicious. You can always tell when the plates leave the table clean that we enjoyed everything. The service was spot on. It was just a very delightful evening meal. There were so many other interesting menu items that we definitely will be back to try them. More...
Great food and drinksThey have changed the menu from I Italian to farm to tableFabulous. Great personable staff. Prices are very reasonable.
If you have any food allergies this is the place to go for delicious safe mealsNice wine list too and special beers
Two nights before hurricane Irma hit, I had the pleasure of dining at Giorgio's on Hillview. This new staple in Sarasota gave a new definition to high-quality Italian for me in the area. The bar mixologist is very creative and has a lengthy list of concoctions, and after trying 4 of them I was convinced this guy knows what he's doing. The appetizers the calamari, and the stuffed mushrooms are amazing not to mention the great bread and dipping sauce. The calamari was made with cornmeal and extra spices thrown into the batter giving a very unique and excellent taste to the squid. The Spaghetti and meatballs that my girlfriend ordered were very impressive as the meatball had probably three to four different kinds of meat inside giving it a wonderful variation of flavors. The signature chicken parmesan dish was excellent with a great topping for the chicken as well as a mushroom and onion topping that gave the meal some extra Flair. Our waitress and the owner Michael did a great job of presenting their business with excellent service, and I wish them the best of luck in Sarasota. I will definitely be coming back! More...
Outstanding service and food. Giorgio's took great care of us. I highly recommend
Rick and Pat Giles
5 Stars is reserved for the best restaurant I've ever been to, which I hope has not happened yet, but let me say that the Cedar Plank Salmon was not just the best (and possibly the largest) piece of Salmon I've ever had, but the cut had to be from an amazing fish with a huge girth. I know how hard it is to get a thick piece of Salmon perfectly done but Georgio did it and I am spoiled forever! More...
4 stars from what the restaurant USED TO BE............great Italian food with a wood-fire pizza oven. Went there about a week ago and menu is completely changed. No Italian, no pizza. Unfortunately we don't like the menu so won't be back. Good luck though.......... More...
Great meal at our first visit to Giorgio's. Cherry tomato and risotto appetizer was flavorful and the tomatoes were perfectly ripe and sweet. Best tomatoes since moving from Ohio.Shrimp and pasta had fantastic grilled flavor, the pasta was cooked to perfection, and more roasted cherry tomatoes!Very attentive staff and a few table visits by Chef Rebekah were much appreciated.Definitely planning a return visit. Tasty and a little different.
Wow! Excellent service and delicious food. A true farm to table eatery! Great ambience and hang out place.
My husband and I accidentally found this restaurant after a week of trying restaurants from downtown Sarasota to St Armand’s to Siesta Key. This place was a shocking surprise. The food was very tasty and obviously made fresh. The prices actually had my husband checking the bill because it was so reasonable. Food was great. Price was VERY reasonable and the manager and staff had a passion that many restaurants are missing. It’s a great spot with a great vibe. Prices and food were great. More...
Great food, great service and great prices. Highly recommend coming here!
Loved the food and ambiance. Definitely worth a visit!
Giorgio's is a great place to relax and have a very, very good meal for a reasonable price. We dined last night and both of our meals were nicely prepared and tasty. I had the Pork Sugo which was super tender. My husband had the bison meatloaf which was also very good. We appreciate the quality of the food and wine and careful thought put into each item on the menu! We'll be back for sure. More...
This was a nice and cozy little Italian restaurant with a relaxed environment. They have a good variety of classic Italian comfort food choices and an excellent wine selection. The food was delicious (freshly made pasta). My table had the chicken parmesan, sausage & pesto pizza, white clam pizza, and meatballs as well as the tortellini salad for apps. Service was fast and friendly. The staff was very nice & accommodating and the prices are surprisingly very affordable for the area. Definitely a repeat choice for a quick casual dinner. More...
