What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
In my experience, regardless of how technical a portrait is, there has to be a believable connection to the person in it. I try and tailor each of my portrait session to fit the style, mood and personality of my clients.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I would ask what they want their portraits to portray. Do you want them showcase your sexy side, your carefree boho side, your intellectual side, your fun and silly side or your lovey dovey side. That answer gets me to thinking of locations, poses, seasons and time of day that I might suggest for their session.
What do you love most about your job?
People. I love my clients. I love that they give me the opportunity to spend time with them and their families, to learn about them and get to know them and to document our time together. I have met some very interesting people along my journey.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Other photographers inspired me to start taking portraits. I love to learn and so I would study other photographer's portraits and then try and figure out how they got a certain look.
Why should our clients choose you?
I'm not sure how to answer this because there are so many factors that go into a decision like this. Location, availability, price, product, these are all important in choosing a photographer. Knowing that, I am just honored anytime someone books a session with me because they are trusting me with an important event in their lives.
