Lorraine's Food Factory is an iconic catering hall located right off Culver Rd. It also has a home in the CooperVision Headquarters. Lorraine's has been around for 30 + plus years delivering great quality service, with high quality ingredients'. Ran by Lorraine Serpe, this restaurant was home to many celebrities such as the Grateful Dead, and Guns N' Roses. I had the privilege of closing up shop at Lorraine's when it was a restaurant, turned now into a full-time catering business. The kitchen was HUGE, the biggest I have ever walked through with multiple flat-tops. The staff in the back work non-stop catering to different businesses in the Rochester area. Lorraine specializes in her Take N' Bake Frozen Meals, which are gourmet dinners. These are the frozen meals that you can easily warm up and put on a plate, and your date would think you did all the cooking (guilty as charged). Remember you buy 6 meals, Lorraine will "bake" you the other one for free. Have no fear because Lorraine also still sells her famous sandwiches, and wraps for pick-up or delivery. Prices at Lorraine's are DIRT CHEAP as the average price is $6.00. I will never forget the moments just hanging out by the side of the restaurant as I watched this landmark place turn into a catering machine. It is never the end of ANY era when you stop in at Lorraine's!TAKE N' BAKE MEALS:Herb Salmon Cake: Comes with a fresh herb crusted salmon that flakes off to perfection when cutting through. Topped with a delicious homemade dill risotto, and wilted kale.Honey Mustard Pork Tenderloin: Thinly cut tender tenderloins topped with sautéed bokchoy with walnut brown rice. The walnuts in the brown rice give this side the elevated flavor it needed.Low Sodium Meatloaf: a delicious piece of meatloaf for those who are health conscience, with a spicy brown gravy. I like the fact the meatloaf is topped with fresh peas and mushrooms.SANDWICHES AND WRAPS:Cucumber Vegetarian Sandwich: Chopped fresh cucumbers from the Farmers Market with a tangy sweet and sour cabbage, Swiss cheese, and Lorraine's homemade sharp mustard on rye bread. This unique flavor combination all worked well together on the sandwich with the sweet cabbage balancing out the mustard.Bourbon Street Chicken Wrap: My ALL-TIME favorite wrap here with fresh strips of Cajun Chicken, lettuce, provolone cheese, and green pepper rings.
