So happy with our photos from our engagement session and wedding!! I carefully and diligently researched photographers, looked up prices and portfolios, and had my short list of options but after my husband and I met with Matt we made our decision and told him we were all in before we even left.

Matt made us feel so comfortable, it feels like you have known their family for ages. Their love shines and is just so reassuring through the chaos that is engagement. Neither of us have ever had professional photos taken and having them done is now some of my favorite memories rather than a time that could have been stressful or full of self consciousness.

We worked with Matt for our engagement photos, my bridal photos and our wedding photos! We cannot say enough good things. He was extremely easy going and made everything feel so relaxed, keeping the mood light and fun . He was easy to communicate with, and made sure to capture all the shots that were most important to us. At the wedding he did not stop making sure to capture every shot. We seriously could not have enjoyed our experience with Local Embers more than we did. They are both so kind and willing to help with whatever you may need. They made me feel so at ease and confident during my bridals and made my guy and me laugh so much during our couples shoot at the wedding. Last minute we had to change locations due to weather and they were so flexible and were able to create magic even in a location that was not our first pick. Local Embers & Co. are an awesome husband and wife duo that took our beautiful wedding photos and created a highlight video for us! They were very calm, flexible, and encouraging the whole time. Everyone tells us, but we already knew, never go for less than the best when it comes to wedding photos. Matt and Lindsey truly are artists at their craft, and their photos are so beautiful and unique. We did not just get wedding photos, we received a story of our day captured in the most beautiful way we can imagine. You will notice right when looking at their work, they are different and unique. What you can’t see, but all the reviews below concur with, is how wonderful they are as people. Matt and Lindsey are also soulmate lovebirds, new parents, and the perfect friendly strangers to have around on your big day. They try to make you feel as comfortable as possible and being yourself and happy on your big day is as easy as if you were by yourselves. We wanted amazing photos, but with an editorial feel and no super cheesy poses and clichés. Matt and Lindsey got that, and our pictures turned out magical!
We had our wedding in Chicago and never for a second doubted that Matt and Lindsey would be dependable. We did not stress about them making their flights or finding the hotels and venues, etc. They made a massive effort to capture the moments but not impose on them.
Their photos speak for themselves, you can see that you should book them. But as people, believe us when we say you can’t find more a more dependable and wonderful couple to work with!

I used Local Embers to photograph my entire wedding journey including my engagements, bridals, rehearsal dinner, and the wedding day. Matt was my photographer and he was very professional. He was so fun to be around and made the awkward parts funny. Lindsey did an amazing job at editing all the pictures! They turned out even more beautiful than I could of ever imagined. Where do we even start? Warning: I am about to rave and use a lot of exclamation points.
Matt and Lindsey of Local Embers are not only talented photographers, but flat out amazing humans. We were given their name by a friend and what a valued recommendation that turned out to be. Firstly, when they initially Skyped with us to answer our preliminary questions before we decided to book, we chatted for over an hour and mostly because they were so darn easy to get along with and fun! Their own marriage appears so genuine, goofy, loving, and balanced that it makes one feel more secure in booking them as you yourself are headed toward marriage. We saw qualities in them that we could admire, look up to, and trust. Communication through the wedding planning process was so easy and clear. We never had any issues, I am not exaggerating. Quick responders and always thorough. The day of the wedding I can still not believe how wonderful they both were. It was a HOT Texas Fall day and our wedding was entirely outdoors. Oh, and Lindsey was very pregnant. Yet, we never heard one complaint and our pictures were absolutely stunning. Matt was so wonderful and genuine and fun that he made the difficult parts way smoother and took care of sweet pregnant Lindsey in such a precious way behind the scenes. And Lindsey was definitely no slouch; she was positive, upbeat, and sweet and endearing.
My now husband and I HATE posed photos and Local Embers captured the most beautiful candid moments without us even noticing. When we did have to be posey they never forced it and allowed for natural moments to happen even within a pose. They were always calm, never appeared stressed, and so fun.

You've found them! Local Embers is who you trust to capture the special moments and details of your most important day. Lindsey and Matt are professionals who will immediately put you at ease and fade into the background while shooting candids, but step to the front and quickly take control to wrangle the bridal party and all those family members in the copious group shots. As the mother of the bride, I didn't get to see all the details of the food and decorations at the venue that day, so I was thrilled to see those elements included in their photographs.
Local Embers will go out of their way to do what you want. Four days before the wedding I called to ask them if they could make a video as a surprise for the couple. Having never made a wedding video, yet excited to do something new, they immediately agreed, and the result amazingly reproduces the love, joy, and relaxed atmosphere of that perfect day. I am so thankful we chose Local Embers & Co. for our wedding photography! Matt and Lindsey were so incredible to work with, and their photography is phenomenal. We couldn't have been more pleased with their work, and the integral role they played in our wedding day. We got connected via Facebook, found out we know a lot of mutual people, and our friendship just grew from there. After looking at their work online and seeing how competitive their pricing was, it was a no brainer to have them shoot our wedding!

Not only are Matt and Lindsey great people and so much fun to work with, but their photography is second to none. Photography is such an important part of any wedding, and I feel like the photographers' presence affects so many aspects of the entire day. Matt and Lindsey were beyond accommodating, making sure that we were well taken care of and every shot we wanted was captured beautifully. They made effort to not only work with us, but to truly get to know us and find out what is important to us as well. Not only that, but they were also very intentional to capture photos we didn't even know we wanted, that we are so thankful for after the fact. The experience they have in shooting weddings is a huge value in that area especially.

At the end of the day, they delivered over 1,000 (yes, you read that right, 1,000!) beautifully edited photos to us, and every minute detail of our wedding is preserved forever for us in our photos. The photos were delivered electronically, we were able to download them all in their original high resolution format, and they were exceptionally well organized. It only took about 6 weeks for us to get our photos back, which I feel is extremely quick for the number of photos delivered and their quality of edit

Matt and Lindsey were absolutely fantastic! We had a bit of a photographer disaster about three months before our wedding with our original photographer cancelling on us, and Local Embers swooped in and saved the day. They were super easy to get in contact with and were always very responsive to emails and calls. They were very organized the day of the wedding and worked within the timeline that our day of coordinator established. As you can imagine, we didn't have a whole lot of time to get to know Matt and Lindsey, but the second we started shooting with them it felt like we had been friends for years. They are very personable and know how to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera. They made sure that we got every shot that was important to us, and the turn around time was absolutely incredible - we had all of our wedding pictures within two to three weeks!
