I have been seeing Lara for 3ish years now. I am super picky with a lot of things and one of them is having the right eyebrow lady do my eyebrows. Before I found Lara on Yelp, I shopped around on and off and just never found the right person for my eyebrows. Sometimes I even went a few months to almost a year without getting my eyebrows done. Lara is very meticulous. She knows how to shape your eyebrows to enhance your beautiful face. If you want something more specific, just speak up and she will listen and work with you.When it comes to skincare, she is very knowledgeable and she will help you find what suits best for your skin. I'm no skincare guru and I'm lucky to have Lara to go to. Just yesterday, I got my first facial with her. It made me realize what I've been missing out! Six months ago my eyebrows were ruined by threading, they looked horrible and I felt really bad about them... I came to see Lara today after being recommended by a friend that has been coming with her for a while now! My sister and I are going on 6+ years seeing Lara for brows! Lara helped fix my too-thin shape from a waxing nightmare from long ago. My brows look full and natural. I am very picky about my brows-- my thin brow hairs grow out straight from my head  and sometimes need "just one hair trimmed" with the scissors before a gap appears. She's an expert waxer (for EVERYTHING, even your most sensitive areas, ladies-- minimal pain) and for brows can even do a full tweeze to result in a masterful shape when your skin is extra sensitive from a peel or new treatment etc. Another thing: those who are the best at what they do aren't necessarily great to be around. Sometimes beauty treatments are beyond awkward and you tell yourself to survive the rough hour because the results are worth it. Well at LK Skin Studio, your time during your appointment is enjoyable (like chatting with your down-to-earth girlfriend) and weeks later you're still beyond happy with the results. Lara recently did my makeup for my sister's wedding and did a fantastic job! I received lots of compliments and felt great for all of the events. If you aren't seeing Lara for your brows then you are screwed. She made my brows look the best they have ever looked and this is truly a miracle. This is a late review and it's for when I came in on March 24th. After having a terrible first experience of Brazilian wax from another professional, I was very reluctant to try again. Straight up, Lara is excellent, she's fast, clean, and efficient when it comes to just getting it over with. She's very sociable and made me feel very comfortable and I am glad my sister took me to her. I tried skipping mascara. I tried using eyeshadow primer. But I couldn't escape getting raccoon eyes from my eyeliner until Lara taught me a trick: holding a small round shader brush perpendicular, use it to pat eyeshadow onto your lash line as you would use eyeliner and then draw over it with eyeliner for a more dramatic look if desired. Last week I got a brow shape and wax at LK Studio, and I am so happy I did! Lara is amazing. As soon as I got to the studio, I felt very comfortable and relaxed. It is a very calm atmosphere and I felt more like I was at a friend's house than a brow wax appointment. Admittedly, my brows needed a lot of work, but Lara handled them expertly. She even gave me tips on how to color them in and explained other ways that could make them darker (something I had asked her about). Yesterday I got THE BEST brazilian wax of my life from Lara.  I got a lifebooker coupon which admittedly are usually terrible but this one was fantastic.  Lara is warm and welcoming.  Her studio is clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated.  Now for the most important part.  The wax involved minimal pain thanks to Lara expertly applying pressure and distracting me .  She waxed all the extra stuff that most people skip, those pesky leg hairs etc.  She paid so much attention to detail, tweezing the few extra hairs that were left at the end.  Even without the lifebooker discount, her price is reasonable and I will definitely be going back! This is the absolute best place for waxing. Great one-on-one atmosphere, not like other big salons and spas with people running around everywhere. This is more relaxing. LARA IS PHENOMENAL! She has been doing my eye brows for a couple of months now and I will not go to anyone else. I'm 24 and I have been getting my eyebrows waxed since I was 15 and none of the waxers I have encountered come close to Lara.  Lara is a great listener/advice giver. She has a great connection with all of her clients which shows that she cares about her clients and their needs. My eye brows always turn out how I want them to, if not, better! I was disappointed that I could not make my appt with the facial expert because of all the rave reviews. However, due to my father being hospitalized and imminent surgery, I went online to cancel it (and yes this was about 32 hours before my appt) and there was no online system. So I sent an email and left a quick vm...but unfortunately, both were not received. I am more than willing to forward the "email" but in the end, we decided to just re-schedule the appt. she was very nice and accommodating so far.  My appt is coming up soon and I am excited to find out if she is as good as all the reviews I've heard on yelp. I have so many wonderful things to say about Lara! Not only is she great at her craft, but she is also a great listener. She cares about your wants and needs and provides the best quality service. Her energy is so beautiful and she makes you feel so welcomed in her skin care studio. It's very cozy and comfy and you feel like you're at home. I have been coming to Lara for over 6 years now.  I followed her from Benefit to her own Studio in Union Square.  Lara is a brow, skin and makeup master! Lara is great!  Found this gem from a friend who used to live in SF who went to Benefit where Lara used to work for many years.  Now that I live here it was SO hard trying to find someone until I connected with her.  I found my lady.  Will not go anywhere else!Pros:  she'll listen to what you want and/or trying to do...in my case I was growing out my pencil thin eyebrows.  She turned my caterpillars to a natural clean-free arch.  I was amazed.  Must go!
