A few months ago, I reached a breaking point. For years, I tried every diet or “lifestyle change” known to man. I got in a cycle of setting ridiculous and unrealistic rules for myself, failing to stick to them, hating myself, and binge eating. I spent the majority of my time thinking about food and researching diets, hoping I would finally find “the one”. I felt totally helpless, and I decided I needed some professional help to fix my relationship with food. I started working with Lindsey, and I’m so glad that I did. She was incredibly patient and kind, but also firm and straightforward. She helped me realize that a lot of the food rules that I had in my head were insane, and that my restriction was what was leading to my binging. She helped me understand how to have balance in my diet without creating rules for myself, and gave me real advice on how to change my mindset. Balance was something I always heard people talk about, but never was able to truly understand and believe until Lindsey helped me. I am forever grateful for her. Lindsey is not just a nutritionist she is a compassionate and understanding human being that treats you for the person you are and not for the struggles you may have with food. I have struggled with a restrictive eating disorder for 30 years and have had my share of nutritionists. Lindsey takes an entirely different approach. From my first conversation with Lindsey I felt heard and validated and never felt pressured to change in ways I did not want to or was not ready to. She has taught me that there is no "good " food or "bad" food nor is there a perfect diet out there that is the best one. She has helped me refocus from all the things in the media about diet and rather to understand my body's communication with me and how to honor it and not ignore it. Lindsey understands the mindset of an eating disorder and is able to guide and support me through the emotions and triggers that are associated with food and eating. She walks with me on my journey every step of the way and never with judgement, only with a kind and gentle encouragement, based on professional and personal experience. Lindsey helped me in more ways that I can count. She opened my eyes to a lot of issues that I had never dealt with and then gave me the resources to start healing them. Working with Lindsey was one of the best investments I ever made for myself. I had learned a ton of info via podcasts and books about intuitive eating but was truly struggling to put it into practice after a long time dealing with a borderline eating disorder and a hamster wheel of binge/restrict behavior. Lindsey will help you feel “normal” around food again and I have found a ton of peace and ability to actually enjoy what I’m eating without feeling super stressed all the time. She’s so accommodating and is an amazing listener - she’d point out things I’d say and help me unpack them, which was key to understanding my limiting beliefs. I’ve always struggled with finding the time to eat healthy being a full time professional student. After many failed attempts with personal trainers in the past, who have tried to get me to count every calorie and who have made me feel guilty for eating foods I enjoy, I finally reached out to Lindsey. Lindsey was very understanding of my crazy schedule and was able to help me recognize where I struggled the most with my eating habits and gave me ways to make healthier choices on the go. It was very rewarding to meet my goals while still being a busy student! She’s extremely kind, positive, creative and actually tries to make a plan that works for you life, not something cookie cutter that anyone would get. Lindsey is phenomenal. I've worked with several different dietitians and nutritionists in the past, and my work with Lindsey has - hands-down - had the most lasting and positive effects on my daily/weekly diet. She was upfront from the beginning about the realities of both my particular struggles, and about lasting changes for lasting results, which I really appreciated (it was before my wedding). I think what I most appreciated was how Lindsey worked within the existing structures my now-husband and I had in place. In other words, she never suggested radically upending our daily routine, meal prep, or food-preferences. Instead she suggested tweaks, as well as guidelines and possible options to maximize results. One year later, our diet and weekly meal plan looks completely different than it did when I started working with Lindsey, and all of the changes happened without either my husband or I really noticing. We have a lot of "hidden vegetable" meals, we're more conscious of eating/snacking out of habit vs. out of hunger, and we feel "off" if a meal doesn't include non-starchy vegetables. Super nice and accommodating. A unique Nutritionist/Dietitian in that she doesn't believe in a one-size-fits -all program. Well-acquainted with foods and eating patterns--Lindsey can pinpoint what nutrition plan would work best for you. She has also been a personal trainer for a while so she has a wholesome grasp on exercise and eating. Seriously, this is the best Nutritional counselor you could go with in central Ohio! After searching for a nutritionist to meet my specific needs, I found Lindsey. I have suffered from an eating disorder for a very long time and after reading her profile, I found she suffered from one in the past. Her approach to food isn't a diet. She helped me with understanding my triggers, allowing me to have a wonderful relationship with food that I've never experienced. Helping me get over the idea that carbs are bad. I've never met anyone with this unique approach to food and eating. She gave me confidence to figure out what was best for me and gave me tools that I use daily.
