Great place, aesthetically pleasing and the staff is really nice! I take a couple of dance/Zumba classes there from time to time with my friend and boy do we sweat! Afterwards we shower off and then chill at the pool, jacuzzi or the sauna. They literally have everything, if you have a friend that has a membership go with them to see if you like it or not. You can go once a month with them or get your own membership definitely worth it! More...

I love LifeTime! I have been a member since 2017 and they have always impressed me. The clubs have great hours, most being 24 hours, and the staff is amazing. I think you truly pay for what you get and paying for a larger premium ($70 a month) there is a lot included in that cost including classes, treatments, the whole gym, amenities like the indoor and outdoor pools, etc. The staff is wonderful and I think the people are genuinely kind and want to focus on workouts and fitness. There are rarely bad apples, but every gym has some so that's understandable. I truly recommend checking it out and seeing all the benefits! More...

This is the best gym I've ever paid for. Worth every dollar! Basketball, rock climbing, daycare, spa, sauna, restaurant, pool, outdoor pool and water slide, I mean come on. No loud ignorant people. Just people there focused on their workouts. Great clean equipment. Plenty of exercise machines to where you don't have to be worried about being right next to someone (for the anti socials like myself lol). Staff is friendly, not sure I have any complaints. More...

It's a lifetime gym. You can't expect any less. These gyms have it all. I've been to about 30 of them across the country and many platinum ones too. Canton is only a gold level but still pretty good! More...

Lifetime Fitness has everything you could need. The facility is always well staffed and decently clean. The staff is coached on everything from consumer engagement to general exercise tips. Only giving it four stars because 1) they ended their 24 hour open policy, 2) the father/daughter mother/son room is not open to father/son mother/daughter (so if the dads take their boys you have to expect them to see their first naked man... an experience that LT Fitness should be ashamed about), and 3) the occasional issues of a broken locker or fresh-out of towels... this happens rare but is still frustrating when it does. Overall I’m very happy with this gym. More...

I love lifetime but it was a terrible IFEs to change one of the busiest locations from 24 hours to 4am-12am this affects so many I know many people during that 4 hour close chose to come their instead of clubs and such it was becoming a positive outlook for them and u guys took it away u should change it back just saying

Eric Stevens was the reason why I wanted to join this gym. Not only did he provide the warmest and most welcoming energy, but he was genuine and was focused on our experience instead of pushing us to get a membership. He should be promoted. Unfortunately, the members at lifetime fitness were condescending, rude, and treated me (a 23 year old marathoner) like I didn’t know what I was doing. The classes fill up and there is little to no direction. This gym is simply too crowded and old despite its flashy features. More...

I don't have a problem with this gym.  You deal with the typical gym issues but over all its clean and has a lot of amenities.  From childcare to a climbing wall to plenty of classes.  I really like the spin classes (shout-out to Joey).   The biggest tip I can provide is to try to go at off times to avoid the crowds.  When its crowded it pretty much becomes a totally different gym More...

Been a member since February 2018. It is definitely on the higher end of the gyms I've been a member at. But I believe it is worth it.Pool is nice. My son takes swimming lessons. Been going here about 2 years now. Very nice gym with lots of facilities. Love the variety of group fitness classes. I attend mostly the very energetic and awesome Zumba class offered by Mr.Shyam Thakker. Wednesday's and Saturday morning classes are something to look forward to!! Very energetic, lots of fun and with a variety of music!!! This invigorates me even after a long work day!! Did not realize that getting fit could be so much fun!!! I love this club. Zumba with Shyam is the reason that I have kept a membership for over five years. His class is a great workout but feels more like a dance party! I hate missing his class. From his choice of music, to his introduction of new choreography on a regular basis, his class is top notch. I am thankful for Zumba, the pool, the kid care staff, the summer camp staff, the pool staff, the kids classes offered and the friendships that I have made at Lifetime Canton. I have been going to Lifetime Fitness for years. A lot of people won't go because of the cost of the membership. I look at it as an investment in my health and well being. It is worth the money when I am there 5 to 6 days a week and taking advantage of all it has to offer. From the cardio equipment to the weights to the yoga studio to the pool and sauna to child care to the spa to the café to the group fitness classes. The staff here is always pollite & responsive to any questions i have & generally speaking normally provide the right amount of help . Although there are a few staff members who probably shouldnt be working at this facility due to attitude & lack of customer service, there are the ones who make you forget about those negative employees due to their exceptional customer service. Tommy is one of the many employees who always has a smile on his face & is just one of those staff members who care for you & love to help. When i come into Lifetime, he always asks how i am and is interested in what i’ll be doing at the gym that day. Hes always eagar to hear about how my day has been & not only provides great customer service, but becomes a friend. Another employee who has stood out to me is Alex Z. He is a great employee & is always there to help when theres a problem. Like tommy, hes polite & eagar to know how my day has been & provides me with a hello & how are you everytime i see him. He has become a friend not only an ordinary staff member. Staff like these two employees are the main reason why coming to the gym is something you look forward to (other than working out of course!). No one should ever have to go to the gym ready to work out & have their mood killed by an employee. Customer service is EVERYTHING! Other than this, the gym itself is wonderful. Huge workout area, fitness rooms, basketball/volleyball courts, pools, steamrooms, saunas, etc. Everything you can think of they have it! My favorite gym ive been to yet. More...

I had a membership here roughly 8 years ago and cancelled due to the financial aspect. I rejoined roughly a year ago because of bad experiences with other smaller gyms. This place is just as busy as any other gym but the size and fitness options of the facility keep members spread out enough that I can always get a good work out in. I’ve had a good handful of questions about my membership, the daycare (as i have a 3 year old with a ton of energy), how to use the lifetime app and reseem my lifetime bucks. Tommy has been a big help to my experience here in answering all questions I’ve had with the facility and its endless features. Life Time Fitness-Canton is a beautiful monster of a gym. I went there for years (sadly, recently ending my membership due to the long commute from downtown Ann Arbor), and each time, felt like it was a place that I would like to linger, a place where I could truly work on my mental and physical wellbeing. The first floor houses the Life Time Spa, Life Time Cafe, locker rooms, basketball courts, and pool. The LT Cafe has healthy meals that are easy to grab when squeezing in a lunch hour workout. There are indoor lap-pools, open year-round, and an outdoor seasonal, "fun" pool with lots of seating for summer days.  The women's locker room is spacious, with a nice lounge area, plenty of lockers and towels, and nice, CLEAN showers. All of the equipment and group classrooms are located on the second floor. I have never seen another gym so well-outfitted with all the latest equipment - - If you can't find it here, it doesn't exist! All of the equipment is clean and well-maintained. For me, the class offerings were a real bonus (no extra charge)... There were tons of yoga and pilates classes that suited all levels and fitness needs. I also used my LT Bucks to attend a couple workshops, including a fantastic Yin Meditation series. I will truly miss this gym! If only they would open one closer to downtown Ann Arbor, I would be the first to sign up!! More...

I have been a member at this club for 5 years now. I have only seen improvement with this club in cleanliness, classes offered to members, and member service. And I greatly thank all of the staff for making this place what it is. The operations members always seem to be moving and getting things done, as well as team members in the other departments. Unfortunately there are many reviews on here that blame the workers for the unclean areas and bad service. What other members are not understanding is that it is the members fault completely for these unclean areas. I have seen many blatantly disrespectful members trash the locker room on purpose, throwing their soaking wet towels onto the ground and leaving trash out all over the place expecting the operations members to just clean up their mess, which they have to do. I once called out an Arabic man for throwing his soaking wet towel he just used to wipe his genitals onto the floor, asking him why he would do that in a non confrontational way. Of course, I was laughed at by him and his pack of “boys”, and one of them proceeded to say that the workers will clean it up for them. These disrespectful members likely act this way because of the cost of a membership. If you can’t handle the cost or “want to get back at Lifetime for raising dues”, just cancel your membership and stay at home (where you can trash your own place with soaking wet towels! Hopefully someone will come pick it up for you!). The last locker area in the men’s locker room (where I commonly go to use a locker) is always filled with young Arabic kids swearing, getting their “muscle enhancer” powders all over the floor and seats, standing in the way of members and barking at eachother across the locker room disrespectfully. I have seen workers approach these egotistical and disrespectful kids to tell them to quiet down or to stop swearing because children are around. However, they continue to do it. Again, the faults of the club lies within the hands of the members who disrespect this establishment and deserve to have their memberships revoked. I want to thank all of the departments for what they do, and hopefully in time these disrespectful members will get their acts together and stop making it difficult on those who truly take care of this club. lifetime fitness canton is great and I will continue to be a member for a long time More...

Oscar, please turn back our steam room to the temp its been for the last 10 years. Everybody is complaining when I am in it, including me. No members who use the steam room on a daily basis are happy with this new low temp steam. We are all talking about leaving Lifetime Fitness. Save money in other areas, or lose your steam room and pool members. As of around May 9th, our steam room is back to the high temp that your regular members enjoy. Best gym there is in Canton! Some say it is pricey, but to be honest, the membership price is worth all the amazing amenities! You will always find a machine you want workout on because they are just so many that you don't have to wait for someone to get done using one! There are machines for everything that you can possibly think of, maybe more! The Group Fitness classes are perfect for those who have a tight schedule and don't have much time to workout; these classes are included in the membership so they're free! The classes also are a whole pack of exercises packed together for a rigorous workout! You can feel the difference when you compare yourself before starting and after finishing the class! They also have great trainers who are always there to help you with whatever your fitness need may be. There's also 2 hot tubs, a sauna, 2 indoor swimming pools with a slide, and 1 outdoor pool for kids and adults which also has a slide! The locker rooms are great too with towel service, soaps, blowdryers, steam room, and ample shower cubes! There's also a rock climbing area with different levels and courts for basketball, racquetball, etc. LifeCafe is a great place to eat healthy food and it is different because their menu items are specifically designed by the trainers and nutritionists for achieving fitness goals, so cutting out all that unnecessary fat from outside food! At the same time, the food is delicious!! I love LifeTime and really recommend it to anyone looking to join a full-fledged awesome gym which has everything you need! More...

I've been a member on and off for about three years.  The child care center is a godsend to parents and the pool is great for taking the kids to. My only complaint is they could use more stalls in the Family locker room -- it's tough to be in there at busy times with a mixed gender group of kids because they have a limited number of showers and you can't take the kids into the main locker rooms if they aren't all the same gender. Been working out for years and tried every gym from power house to reps gym and this place is by far on its own planet. It can get crowded at times but what do u expect lol .. staff is friendly and the machines are always working properly and clean (no rust ) only reason I went 4 instead of 5 was the 845$ a year it will cost u to be a member . I also had a power house membership costed me 175$ for the year but after a month in they closed the doors so I got screwed:/ jus bought a planet fitness year for 120$ + 39$ annual fee..... but hands down nothing is like life time the only reason I have 2 gym membership is because of the driving distance sometimes in need to get in a quick work out . Still loving Lifetime.. I'm back again, and I won't be leaving for a while. One of the things that  keeps drawing me here is the overall vibe - it's more of a club than a gym, let's call it a country club without a golf course. The amenities are simply great. I love the simple, little things such as towel service, soaps, lotions, blowdriers etc (even tampons) in the locker rooms. Of course, a dry heat sauna and eucalyptus steam room does not hurt either. I only use the lap pool, but they have two decent sized recreational pools (with slides) as well - indoor and outdoor. The Life Cafe serves up (protein) smoothies and other tasty things. There's even a salon/spa with dedicated massage rooms. My stepdaughter digs the climbing wall, but that's not really my thing. Neither is basketball, but they have two full sized indoor courts. I need to dig up our rackets and balls because they have both squash and racquetball courts at this location (yippee!). Fitness wise.. Anything and everything you could want, they've got. If you're doing cardio or weights, they have you covered. I have never had to wait for anything, there are So Many Pieces of Equipment!Group classes vary from zumba to yoga to pilates and kickboxing. My faves are the Gluteus MAXout (or as I call it, my a$$ class), cycling/spinning and FIT. This location is pretty much always clean, towels are always refreshed quickly, really-I have no complaints. I live a lot closer to the Novi club (it is essentially next door), but we come here for this exact reason: cleanliness. More...

We have been members here for last 2 years. Overall, we love to go here and workout. However, like anything else there are pluses and minuses. The gym on weekdays is pretty crowded and it is hard to get equipment like bench to workout on. However, most members are nice and courteous , hence can take turns most of the times. Some bins of sanitary napkins are always empty. I believe that they are never replenished. The mens shower areas and even toilet floors always seem to have towels lying around. Though i think lifetime is eventually to be blamed, it becomes utmost responsibility of every member to keep the place tidy and not knowingly ruin it. I am sure they would not have done it if it were their own home. There is an attitude "I pay for this and hence i can do what i want". It saddens me when i see this behavior which otherwise would have made a better workout experience for all. More...

'Been a member since the beginning. Basically, if you can't get in shape here, give up. It's got everything. It's got so many free weights that the strongest guys in the gym could max out on every station simultaneously. There's about 20 million cardio machines, non-stop "free" fitness classes. The personal trainers will LEAVE YOU alone unless you seek them out. Yoga classes are great. Saunas, steam room, whirlpools, lap pool, kiddie pool, day-care, basketball courts... No complaints. After work-outs, the protein smoothies are great. The other "reviews" on here are typical of hating whiners, complaining of high costs and overcrowding at the same time. Makes no sense. You want a nicer club, stop leaving 14 towels all over the place. Rack your weights. Be friendly. More...

I do enjoy this gym, but there are some downfalls. The women's bathroom is always disgusting. I get that when you apply to work at a gym you don't plan on having to clean the bathrooms, but for god's sake, someone has to do it! Maybe they should hire an outside company to come in every day and clean them. The showers aren't too gross, but as they are heavily used I can understand their condition. Just always, always, always wear flip flops or shower shoes when showering! The smoothies in the cafe are pretty good, but the food is not that great. I imagine most of it is microwaved as it looks like they don't have a proper kitchen. They finally got curbs to put in front of the handicapped spots!!! It was so annoying that people would pull all the way up into the parking space and most of the front end of their vehicles would be taking up sidewalk space, which is the main path that people take to get into the front door. I never thought I would be so excited for curbs in a parking lot! It was such a pain to walk into and out of the gym as there wasn't enough room to have two people walk past each other on the sidewalk. Another downfall is the price. It is expensive but my boyfriend likes that they have towel service and I like the sauna, hot tub, and steam room. I took a free workshop that was very informational and I got a free personal training session from the trainer who did the workshop, but little did I realize that it is a gimmick to try to get you to sign up for personal training sessions which cost $70-$100 a session depending on the trainer's education. The dietician/ personal trainer at this site is kind of a joke. He wears suits every day. Give me a break, you work at a gym. If you want to be taken seriously by the people trying to be healthy perhaps you should wear something that makes it look like you are going to train with them. When we did our free personal training session with him when we first signed up as members he still wore a suit. It was pretty strange to see him try to do squats with a kettle bell in a suit! But all the other trainers are pretty helpful and look like they really try. Jeff is excellent and positive. I didn't feel too pressured to sign up for sessions with him, but then the dietician came over and tried to pressure me more. That turns me off. I don't like to be pressured into anything. So for the most part this place is ok for a gym. If they cleaned up the bathroom and got a better kitchen I think it would be perfect. I should also mention that there is a day care for people who have kids, and a small indoor rock climbing area. The kids look like they are always having fun. They do activities with them rather than just sit them in front of a tv like the gym day care center we went to when we were kids. More...

I have been a member at this gym for maybe more than 15 years. I'm 21 years old and I love this place. I've tried Powerhouse just to see if id enjoy the amenities and the cheaper monthly rate but I just ended up only going there twice and got sick of it. Stuck with my membership here and I'm happy. Employees are helpful and very nice. Locker rooms are always cleaned. When I say always I mean there are at least 3 ladies in there daily cleaning that locker room. When I go late at night I get to see the full effect of the employees cleaning the showers and floors like crazy. It's amazing how much they really do. Yes, the towel bin may get full here and there but what do you expect? It's a gym that has a minimum of 50 people in the locker room daily. (Tip: if u ever go to the gym around 10am expect that locker room to be crazy packed with parents getting ready for work!)Machines are always cleaned. If you aren't satisfied for some reason, there are wipes in so many locations to clean the machine yourself. Employees walk around at night and clean up the floor and rack the weights and basically put everything back to where it originally belongs. Personal Trainers here are so nice and friendly. They will give you great tips and they're definitely worth it. Lifetime Bucks are great too! You get free lifetime money and can use it towards personal training, the spa, activities, etc...Overall, I have no idea how anyone can rate this gym below a 5 Star. I love it and I really hope this review helps. Whoever the people are that are leaving the bad reviews - I absolutely disagree with everything they had to say. Give it a try. Its membership price and fee is pricey but it's definitely worth it. I got so many people to transfer from Powerhouse Gym to here. Definitively try it out. More...

People seem to have very high expectations for a place that by design is meant to be hammered on by the members.Equipment gets beaten down, weights get tossed around everywhere, trainers get annoyed...so what?! The context of the place is this; It's the biggest gym in Washtenaw County and offers more work out options than you can shake a stick at. It has options galore for children, pretty good food, and a lot more.Take it in stride, smile at people and you'll be surprised how many smiles you get back.My top annoyance is that no one re-racks the weights. But that's on the members. I can't expect Lifetime to staff/pay an employee to stand by and shuffle in and around members while they're working out, re-racking weights. I do my part, and put back what I've used.Other than that, yeah the bathrooms could use some TLC.Bottom line - my kid loves playing/swimming there, I get a good work out, and we leave smiling.Cheers. I joined this LifeTime one year ago this month and have nothing but raves for this gym.  I've been to other gyms, I've even had other trainers.  But absolutely NONE have worked with me, have taught me, have encouraged me like the trainers at this gym!  From nutrition to my daily work outs, nothing is slacking!  Even after hours. If I have a question, they're a phone call (text) away!I hurt myself about 3 months ago and had to drop out of Boot Camp.  My coach offered me to keep coming back and do whatever it was that I could do until I was feeling better.  He even stopped to ask me how I was doing when we passed in the gym.  I ended up straining a glute muscle and needed a chiropractor as my doctor told me it was a pinched nerve and sent me on my way!  Most chiropractors, in my opinion, are trying to get you to keep coming back.  At LifeTime, Dr. Nick works with your injury not only with adjustments (a strained glute doesn't need much adjustment) but with suggested exercises, stretches and work outs.  He recommended deep tissue massages (Jennial) and Yoga (Tammy) to assist in my recovery.  Once finally released, my Coach (Steve) monitored my gym time and class time with other instructors and had me back in Boot Camp in no time! The girls in the Café are great as is the food!  I enjoy going to the salon and love how Alyson works with my hair.  Being greeted at the front door by name and a smile, then the smiles and hello's and yes, even high fives can't do anything but encourage me to continue coming back.  The coaches and trainers continue to motivate me in doing my very best. Clearly with how many check-ins I have for this place, I'm sure it's relatively obvious that I frequent this gym on a regular basis. Haha! Plus, it's 24 hours!! WOO!!Anyway, down to business. I love variety and this is exactly what Lifetime Fitness has and offers! Right up my alley! When it comes to cardio, ladies this place has us covered! :D Treadmills as far as the eye can see, along with stairs climbers, arc trainers, many different types of bicycles, and ellipticals. But here's the difference between Planet Fitness and Lifetime. With your membership, it includes fitness classes (basically any of them, as well as, yoga!) There is also a rock climbing wall, racket ball courts, a HUGE gym for basketball and other activities/ special events, two swimming pools and one of them being a lap pool, two hot tubs, a sauna, and a steam room (located in the locker room). As a plus, they also offer personal trainers (for an additional charge, of course). I have yet to take advantage of this offer. This is what I call variety! I LOVE IT! I've attended several fitness classes and they are very fast paced considered those are mostly used for cardio and endurance build up. Also, fair warning, the yoga classes, even ones that say they are for beginnings is a bit of a stretch. I've attended a couple of them and you definitely need to know what you're doing. Most yoga classes emphasize endurance. Overall, Lifetime is a bit on the pricey side but from what they offer it's well worth it. As well as, if physical fitness is part of your lifestyle and you would frequent the gym several times a week then the membership would pay for itself in several visits, if not then I recommend Planet Fitness. And remember, they are a corporation, they will try to sell you different promotions and offers that are available at the time. It can get annoying, but they aren't in your face about it. Fair warning. Other than that, I love the clean facilities, and variety of different work out opportunities. More...

I have been a member of this gym twice, and I have consistently been happy. Machines are in good shape, and are repaired quickly when a problem arises. I have never had to wait for a machine. Classes are great, but are EXTREMELY overcrowded sometimes. It is not fun or effective to work out if you can barely move properly. People also tend to come 20 minutes early, plunk a towel and water down, and leave. Some classes are awesome, while others aren't so much. I tried both Zumba instructors here and was underwhelmed. My main gripe with this place is that after the first time I joined and came back (I had moved away and come back) the price went up to $77 a month. All of the Lifetime gyms in the area require you to become a Gold member now, which means you can go to any Lifetime. (Novi is the only gym that offers the lowest plan now, for about $60 per month). When I first joined, I was paying $60, which seemed much more reasonable for what I was getting. In the end, I would highly recommend Lifetime to families with kids or couples. I do not think it is worth it for a single to join the club, unless the person is comfortable with the amount paid. I have found that Powerhouse Gym in Novi provides most of the same features at half the price. I will definitely come back to Lifetime once I have children. More...

With the new equipment they brought in it makes everything a lot easier in many ways on the weight side of this establishment. It has everything you need to complete your workouts and also includes other features within the gym as well. The price point I don't believe is bad whatsoever considering location, services offered, and equipment is definitely good for the amount of traffic they have each day.I paid 150 for another gym and it was way nicer/cleaner, but the price point was way more then the 75 bucks here. I was definitely biased with the cleanliness, but I shouldn't expect everyone to care about the equipment with respect when they are paying about 80 dollars less per month then what I was previously. It makes sense so I stopped caring after I thought about that. I do recommend to make sure you scrub your hands after being in there in the locker rooms and also as soon as you get home because I did unfortunately receive a skin bacterial infection from here. Although it was OTC treatable, went away within two weeks, and not really a big deal, it still happened to someone who is very aware of the need for cleanliness in environments like this. More...

Lifetime is expensive. Very expensive. A membership here will run you about $70/mo, but if you really take advantage of it, you will probably love it. They recently added a real yoga room with real yoga teachers, which is why I re-joined about a month ago. I've had a few different teachers now, and think Dominique and Carson offer the most challenging classes. (For perspective, I'm comparing this to Yoga Shelter, and Yoga Shelter is my favorite yoga studio I've ever been to.) I've had classes here with two of the other instructors that just weren't as good... the postures don't flow together and/or they play weird "Darth Vader" techno-house music (not kidding). A maniacal space tyrant's heavy breathing does not relax or inspire me, thank you! I like the selection of cardio machines and the pool, as well as many of the other available group fitness classes. If you're only joining a gym for the weight or cardio equipment, you could definitely save money by joining a smaller chain. This is one to join for the amenities, pool and classes. More...

This facility is so amazing when it comes to reaching your goals ..there are so many ways to do so and everyone should take advantage of it ! There is a 90 day challenge for weight loss , team fit, group training , various classes , and wonderful trainers. Personally I enjoy one on one training since I get more use out of it. I used to train with Nick ... By far the most talented, motivational, and inspiring guy I know.. definitely the best out there !! Just so caring and down to earth . So if you are or plan on becoming a member totally recommend him :) not to mention .. Hot More...

I love Lifetime!I have been a member for about a year now... the cardio and weight machines are all great. I also enjoy the classes (particularly cycling) but they also have a brand new yoga studio at the Canton location. As far as personal trainers go - I recommend Pete or Brandon. Pete heads up the Boot Camp Class - which is very awesome and worth every penny!I definitely suggest going between 10AM - 3PM if you can, that seems to be the least busiest time but if not, than around 8PM it also gets to be a little bit of a down time as well. My favorite place to unwind after a long day. This gym is huge, clean, and has every machine/amenity/service you could ever want out of a health and wellness facility. They have  a full service spa and salon, pseudo fast food restaurant that sells healthy food, a large pool, big locker rooms, basketball courts, studios for work-out classes (all which are awesome and at convenient times), and a variety of cardio and weight machines. You can also hire a personal trainer to reach your fitness goals, speak to a nutrition expert, even join a group fitness program to keep you motivated if you work better in groups. The list is endless...I highly recommend it! From the fitness fanatics to the simply health conscience, you will definitely love being here. OH! Did I mention they're also open 24 hours? More...

This place has pretty much everything you could possibly want. Child care services include "Parent's Night Out", basketball courts, racquetball courts, every conceivable cardio equipment, basic gym and chock full of Nautilus equipment and other types of equipment. Of course there's a whole lot more than this as well! I also love that their restaurant serves healthy food so that you keep promoting healthy habits after you have worked out. More...

I joined LifeTime in April and so far, it's pretty nice. :) It's a large gym... and I mean large. It's pretty intimidating the first few times you are in there. You kind of feel like a freshman at a new high school... Once you get over that though, it's pretty smooth sailing. It's a clean gym, never smells funny or stuffy. The upstairs has a huge cardio area which is where I spend 99% of my time. The machines are always in good repair and seem to be newer/top of the line. The pool area is nice. Very clean and never seems to be dirty or anything like some of the other reviews said. I spent the first month almost exclusively in the pool every morning, so I would think I'd notice :) The locker rooms (speaking only for the ladies, of course) are clean. There is someone in there at all times making sure things are picked up and clean. Luckily, most women are courteous and pick up after themselves and don't leave towels or anything lying around. The showers individual stalls with curtains and are always clean and available. I'm in there often at "peak" time and I can always get into a shower when I need to. The staff I have interacted with are nice and helpful. Erica (nutritionist) and Michael (trainer) are great and are well worth spending time with :) Can't say enough good things about them. Onto the bad... The classes are ridiculous... I've never even tried to go to one since seeing the classes ongoing and the lines waiting for them. There's no way in the world I would wait in line like that for a class to potentially not get into it. Crazy! They either need more classes/teachers/classrooms or sign up sheets. I've seen people not get into classes that they waited for (what else do I have to do except people watch while I'm on the machines Lol). I love Yoga, but I'm not even going to bother. I will unfortunately need to pay to go to a yoga studio since I can't get into the evening yoga classes (I can't do day time since I work). I wish I could utilize it since I'm paying for the ability to take classes with my membership, but I don't think I'll be trying it any time soon unless sign up sheets or something is implemented where I know I will be able to get in. Other than that, I've not found much that isn't good there. There is much more I haven't explored or tried there since they offer so much!! More...

I'm used to working out in gyms with just basic weights and cardio machines. So after joining Lifetime those places look like dungeons lol. Not much that needs to be said about this place. They have everything here. I like the fact they have 2 basketball courts, lots of free fitness classes at various hours, open volleyball every Thursday night, indoor/outdoor pools and lap lanes, and an on site cafe. Also love that they are open 24/7. Haven't come across a single negative thing about this place but if I do I will update my review. Well, $63 a month is pricey, but worth it imo. More...

Ignore the nay-sayers about this place, the staff and sales representatives are overly friendly and always make time for personal conversations about your membership and any worries you may have about it. If you are looking to commit the sales team will go OUT OF THEIR WAY to make sure you are comfortable, such as provide you with free days for the gym until your official membership starts. There is only ONE negative, and that is that they don't have a track of any sort, but their number of bikes, treadmills, the rock climbing wall, lane pools, not to mention their huge weight lifting and "aerobics" area more than makes up for that. Lifetime is a great gym. Friendly staff, towels, lockers, a big gymnasium, a rock climbing wall and children center is not everything you can find there. They also have classes like ypga, ximb, spinning and more all day long. The only thing that turn down people i believe is the price, but if you follow them you can get a great deal once in a while. It's definitely worth it. 24 hours /7 days a week pave More...

The place is clean & nice, but DO NOT EXPECT TO GET BACK ANY IPOD FROM THE LOST & FOUND - someone told me they found my iPod & turned it into the lost & found seriously like 3 minutes after I left it by my locker (I saw them walking back from the towel desk). So when I asked the worker for my iPod back, they said I have to talk to a manager & prove its mine because they leave valuables in a vault. When I described it to the manager, he said that there was no iPod like that description. Pretty much the SAME EXACT THING happened to a friend of mine a little while ago at this same location. So I don't know what they do with the iPods in their lost & found, but you'll be very lucky if you get it back. Moral of the story: take care of your stuff. But otherwise, its a great club & the staff really work hard to keep it clean & friendly. More...

This is the Ritz Carlton of gyms in Southeast Michigan. Locker room: It's very well-kept, clean, and very spacious. There are several "privacy" stalls for you to change. There are about 10 private showers as well as a steam room.Gym: There is a very large cardio area. I have never counted how many treadmills and eliptials there are, but I imagine it's there are at least 50 of each. There are no "30-minute rules" that many other gyms have. You can run or walk on your treadmill for as long as you'd like.  There is a large free weights area, which can be a little intimidating at times due to the number of jersey-shore looking guys.  There are plenty of mats, medicine balls, space for you to do whatever you need to do for an optimal workout. Classes: I have been to many spinning classes here. The bikes were upgraded in 2010 and are wonderful. The classes are challenging- some instructors are better than others, but overall, I very much enjoy their spinning classes.  Although I have never attended, the Saturday morning hip hop class is always full before it even begins. If you're into it, I suggest you get there a little earlier.Pool: There is a lap pool as well as a warmer and shallower pool for younger kids with 2 indoor water slides. There are also 2 outdoor pools with 2 additional water slides. There are 2 dry sauna rooms as well as 2 large hot tubs in the pool area. It's heavenly to relax here after a tough workout.Once you get used to lifetime, all other gyms will look and feel like hourly motels.... More...

The lifetime fitness at Commerce Crossing is pretty awesome ! Its got pretty much anything a fitness buff would need - gym, huge cardio section, large weights area, 3 pools (1 outdoor), extremely clean and well maintained locker areas and a very courteous staff ... it also has a couple of basketball and rackuetball courts ... pretty much everything anyone could ask for ! The only gripe I would have is with the fees being a bit on the higher side - this is not to say that the facilites are not worth it but I'd say not a lot of people would have the time to enjoy all that they have to offer .. apart frm that whatever they have, they make sure its the best and beats all other facilities hands down.Even their finance department is not too much of a hassle, the fact that they have a notice period of 1 month's billing post termination should be kept in mind - a lot of people interpret this as a cheap gimmick but a policy is a policy, its anyways specified at the time of your signing the contract. In a nutshell: HUGE Gym+spa+basketball+rockclimbing+indoor pool+outdoor pool+ hot tubs+ sauna+raquetball+group fitness classes+ personal training+cafe+childcare+kids camps. Gotta see it to believe it.I have been going to this gym since it opened. I was there for the grand opening cermony.LTF reminds me of home, and makes me feel at home. It is a community and you'll begin to recognize the regulars. It is an amazingly well kept facility and does not even compare to any other gym (even in any other state, or even within the LTF franchise).  The classes are awesome and trainers are awesome too. Try their pilates reformer classes if you have a chance. Outdoor pool is bomb. Best place to hang out in the summers. LTF spa is legit too. Childcare center makes me want to be a little kid and play. The only complaint would be the ridiculous about of teeny boppers that hang out here, since it is 24 hours. That gets a little annoying. Thanks for spoiling me for a lifetime, Lifetime. More...

I love Lifetime :-) I work out three times a week with a trainer (personal injury issues) and because of the trainer I have had life hanging improvements to my physical health. Erin A. is very knowledgeable and wonderful to boot.My only complaints are that in the women's locker room there are sometimes quite a few children squeaking and running about. There is a family locker room for families who don't have "same sex" children, as in, women can only bring girl children into the women's locker room and med can only bring the boys into the men's locker room.Additionally, women seem to think that the cleaning staff are there to clean up after their personal mess, for example, some rude women will not put their towels into the bin and will just leave them on the benches expecting that the staff will/ should take care of it. Last one, in the women's locker room, women don't clean their hair out of the shower drains and sometimes it looks like big foot was there and left a big pile of hair behind, HOW GROSS!! As you can see, all my complaints are about the guests and not the club employees themselves... that being said, from one guest to another, PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF, the staff is there to keep things neat but they are not your personal maid service!! I can't believe I haven't written a review for this place yet.  First enrolled when they were building this location.  Sadly after a few years we cancelled due to us wanting to be more conservative and trying cheaper gyms.  It was a mistake so we came right back.  Now with a kid, we love that the child center is clean and  friendly.  They have a hands off policy so no diaper changing here.  They'll page you or send someone to get you to change your baby's diaper.  I love their equiptments and classes.  LOVE their Hip hop class.  It is the best!  Christy knows how to teach!  She's attentive and goes with the pace of the class.  Tried their Zumba class.  FAIL!  Didn't really care for how the class was run.  If you're a newbie....either learn quickly or look like a fool falling behind.  They wait for no one.  One bad points...I can't stand the teeny boppers hanging around in the locker room chit chatting and getting in my way.  Was I ever that annoying as a child?  Geeezzzz!!  I know...I sound like an old lady now huh?  Next thing you know I'll be waiving a cane at some young whipper snapper! I am exercise resistant. I hate it. But it is a necessary evil, which is why I wandered in to Lifetime almost two years ago. I appreciated the tour we were taken on, but don't put much stock in that. At the time, they were trying to get me to sign up for a membership, so of course the tour is going to be great. I have never had to wait for any of the cardio equipment, no matter what time I go there. Sometimes there is a wait for the weights (haha) as this place is full of hard-core lifters and buff guys and girls. There is a double edged sword thing going on here for me. I wanted a place to work out that I could slip in and out of any time and no one would really pay attention to what I was doing. For this, Lifetime is perfect. It's big and busy and no one cares what you are doing. I do want to try one of their classes, but because of the impersonal nature of the place, I haven't felt really comfortable doing so. It seems there isn't anyone you can go up to and act like a shy dork and have them take you under their wing and walk you to a class like a kid on the first day of kindergarten. But, like I said, I like the fact that no once cares what I do here, so I will take the trade-off. When I asked a staffer about bringing my son, who uses a wheelchair, to use the pool, I was given really great treatment. He took me in the family locker room, and helped me do kind of a trial run to see if we could get him in and out and changed, etc. It was nice to be treated like it was their pleasure to have us there, and not like they were making special accommodations for us, and we were a bother. It's great to go to their cafe after a workout and get a protein smoothie. Pretty convenient even though it isn't the cheapest place in the world. The membership is month to month auto bill on your credit card until you cancel. I liked this because years ago, joining a gym meant at least a full one year commitment.Offers: Indoor and Outdoor pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, cardio, free weights and machines, classes, rock wall, ball courts, and day care. My husband and I joined Lifetime at the end of June. After a great meeting with the salesguy Michael (who was not pushy at all and gave us an informative tour of the facility,) we were hooked and signed right up. It helped that there was a $200 off enrollment fee promotion going on.It's always busy, but we never have a problem finding parking or having to wait for machines. The clientele is respectful for the most part, there are only a few "grunters" running around and MOST people wipe off machines after they are done using them. Our only complaint is that it seems the locker rooms are used as a "hangout" for high school kids... they stand around texting and giggling, which is a little annoying. My husband waited for me outside forever last night because I was literally trapped behind a wall of tubby girls.Overall, we are enjoying it immensely and it's totally worth the $100 a month. Love lounging by the pool after a workout! More...

You really can't beat a 24 hour fitness center. I mean, you can come up here at any time of the day and take classes (aerobics, cycling, kick boxing, etc), or even go swimming. It's a super huge building that will honestly make you say "WOW" when you walk in. They literally have everything you could need. My only gripe is that it is always super duper packed. The staff is friendly and it always someone around to lend a hand or answer a question. With flat screens all around with different stations, I honestly didn't want to leave. Check with them periodically for membership specials, because normally they are a bit expensive. More...

Cannot beat the facilities at LifeTime Fitness.  They are top-notch! and the amenities are second to none for what they offer.  Whenever you stuff your body with too much food (as I often do) you can come here to get your work out.  I get distinct image of most yelpers as lover of food, therefore, we all need to keep healthy.  No way!  I not want clogged artery! I try to work on the my abdominal every week.  I'm getting close to my six pack with the help of trainer.  They are friendly and work with you to help.  Shhh... after hard workout i think I go across street for some italian food.  Don't tell my trainer.
