I love this place! The workouts are awesome and the trainers do a great job of encouraging you and watching to make sure you addre executing the moves with proper form to avoid injury. I just finished the 6 week challenge and it was transcending. I’m the girl who ate Raisin Bran for dinner and never cooked. Lab Athletics taught me how to eat healthy, portion control and the necessity of adding weights to my work out routine. The classes were different each week which kept things interesting and all the staff are committed to helping each member reach their individual goal. A HUGE THANK YOU to Jake Brogg and Yehlenn Ebbay and all the trainers at Lab Athletics! At 54 I would never have imagined finding my strongest and most fit body and mind through such simple lifestyle changes! I didn’t know I had 23 lbs and 20% body fat to lose! That was eight pounds and 5% past my goals! Still, the reduction in weight was not why I came to you. I came because my job can be very physical and I was told “Get strong now, or keep getting injured!” In my work I need to be able to move quickly, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds if needed at the drop of a hat. Doesn’t sound like a tall order but as time has marched on I’ve watched my strength and fitness level shift dramatically-not in a good direction. I knew what I needed to do but had no idea how to start. Thankfully I found Lab Athletics! And despite my physical challenges and needs, you welcomed me with a “can do, body positive, welcoming and inclusive” safe space to work at my own pace and toward my personal best. With your guidance I was able to: set realistic goals; begin a safe, nutritionist developed, simple and balanced nutrient rich meal plan that can be used eating in or out; and feel consistently encouraged, inspired and supported in a fun, safe, inclusive community! Clearly I am a dedicated fan of Lab Athletics! All of the trainers are experts and are equally engaging and fun! I am well supported in each class I attend. The trainers are ready and able to help me adapt any exercise my body can’t -or isn’t ready- to do. When I leave I feel successful, refreshed and stronger! After my now 3 months working out with you I have been amazed thinking about when I started and how far I’ve come. In the beginning, I wasn’t able to do even one push-up or pull myself up on a bar. Now among many accomplishments, I CAN do 50 adapted pull-ups and 15 real push-ups without other supports! Thank you Jake Brogg and Yehlenn Ebbay and all of the trainers (Lor, Bri, Bethany and Nathan) for providing the welcoming and inclusive space at Lab Athletics. I did the “free” 6 week challenge with a $500 deposit. During the challenge I attended the gym three days a week. The classes sometimes kicked my butt, but they got easier. The instructors Brit and Bethany are great! High energy and learned my name quickly. I learned some new exercises which is great. The food plan was really hard for me, personally. I did meet my weight loss goal, but not my body fat % goal. I’m getting my deposit back because this particular gym is not the right fit or me. They did a great job with designing the space, but I need more variety in classes, and prefer a different class structure. More...

I came in not knowing anything about fitness, eating "healthy" (Spoiler, no not really) and all in all letting myself talk myself out of going to gym, even when I could.Having taken the 6 week challenge all I can say is this place rocks. Beginner friendly, advanced friendly, surrounded by people who care and will actually cheer you on. Even if you have to ask what an exercise is 5 times in a row. The 6-weeks challenge was an amazing experience for me! I did succeed reaching my goal in within 6 weeks. Their meal plans really helped me to open my eyes with what kind of food my body needs. The first 6 weeks is about cleansing the body then slowly reintroduce with few different foods but remain healthy!! The coaches there were amazing especially Jake, Breann, & Yuhleen!! By far this has to be the number one place to get fit and healthy! The trainers are like family, everyone from all different walks of life getting real results! I am blown away by my results after only 6 weeks... down 14 pounds and 3% body fat! They really know what they are doing, they work with you individually as well as provide you with meal plans! I just finished the 6 week challenge!!! This was by far one of the most important and impactful investments I've made on myself. Not only has my body gone through conditioning so has my mentality! Applied knowledge and behavior is one of the most rewarding experiences! I surpassed the goal we set and I feel like a million bucks! I have gained strength, endurance, and an understanding of nutrition. I owe so much of that to the trainers at Lab Athletics. Any time I had a question the trainers were right there to answer and go into depth. They all truly want each and every single individual that walks through their door to SUCCEED! 80% of body transformation depends on nutrition. Lab Athletic's 6 week challenge helped me seriously understand that statement. If you are considering Lab Athletics I highly recommend it. I also just completed my 6 week challenge and exceeded the goals I set for myself. All of the trainers have a different style of coaching, but are all wonderful, and I enjoyed the variety. I have a chronic injury and the coaches did a great job at modifying movements that I couldn't do. As a former crossfitter, I appreciate the lifts and challenging workouts, but the Lab is MUCH safer than crossfit in terms of programming. Finally, Lab Athletics has a good community vibe to it. Lab athletics is a positive and energetic environment for personal growth and community development. I really enjoyed the trainers instruction of exercises and guidance on proper form because it was my first time using free weights. They had a lot of confidence in fitness knowledge and a willingness to share all they know and answer any questions I had. The 6 week challenge seemed really organized, but you’ve got to be extremely committed to it before you start! The downsides for me were difficulty coordinating classes with my schedule, and open gym time was during my work hours. This has been an amazing experience for me, as someone who suffers from chronic pain, I didn’t know if I’d be able to handle the work outs but the trainers are amazing at helping modify an exercise as needed and they are right there the whole time to check your form and and encourage you along the way. By far, Yehleen is the best trainer! She paid close attention to form and was good about giving each individual attention and support. I really enjoyed her classes because the workouts kept a fast pace. Time flew by! For my personal body type, it was easier to lose body fat percentage than the weight itself. The trainers are all so welcoming and friendly, as well as the other members that you meet in group training sessions. I signed on to do a 6 week challenge because I needed both the mental focus to keep going and I really wanted help getting my body back after multiple abdominal surgeries destroyed my core. Signed up for the 6 week boot camp and it was SO FUN! Coming from a sports background the workouts were perfect for targeting every part of your body and multiple parts in the same workout! Lab Athletics is such a fun place. I did their 6 week challenge and I loved it. The trainers are all awesome, super helpful and have great attitudes. I didn't have alot of experience with weight training and they helped a ton with form and just learning more about the muscles in general. Lor even helped me with some ideas for stretching/rehab when my shoulder started hurting and it was really helpful. All in all this was a very empowering challenge, I wanted to get stronger and really just have fun, and did not want to lose weight, and they were very supportive of my personal goals and helped me to achieve them. I would definitely recommend this place. There were enough options for classes too that it was easy to fit it into my schedule. And they play loud music which makes it fun and made me wanna show up! I LOVE this place!! The trainers are super nice but they still push you to do your best. They teach you the proper technique, the work outs are diverse and hit all the muscles. They have alternative ways of doing harder work outs that still work and they aren't annoyed when you can't do something. The staff is very supportive and easy to talk to. I like that they show you each work out before you do it so you're not wondering what something is. I will be coming back to this place after my vacation to lose the rest of my excess weight! I did the 6 week challenge and had a blast! The trainers really work to suit your needs and offer the best assistance. The really cool part about the gym is the environment. The gym has a lot of equipment for an old school feel and everybody is always helping each other out within the workout. I never felt more comfortable at the gym knowing there were many different shapes and sizes that could do the workouts as well. I lost a total of 24ibs in my experience, the nutrition helping a lot on the customized plans. Finished the 6 week challenge and it feels so amazing!!! I’m so thankful for all of the trainers that I got to work with for helping me get ready for my first Tough Mudder race! I was able to complete the 10 mile race, lose weight, feel stronger, healthier and energetic. I trained at different times with different trainers and never once felt like any of them lacked in 6 weeks. The workouts were always diverse and challenging enough to keep me pushing through. Lab Athletics-What a fantastic place! I thoroughly enjoy all the friendly, helpful, positive people that work for Lab Athletics. The team atmosphere is unbelievable. Working in a group while supporting each and everyone’s needs is a great method. The Trainers are right there for you answering any questions. They give you feedback, such as lifting weights properly, sharing what foods to eat, and cheering you on, so you can meet your goals. I love that there are days where I can choose to work on my lower body, upper body, and/or cardio. I never feel lost at Lab Athletics. Been going since day 1 when Jake started it and cannot stand other gyms. You feel responsible as soon as you make an appointment to get there and know you'll be getting a full workout in with others working just as hard instead of feeling lost or watched in a gym. Update May 31st: in addition to the great regular workouts an 8 week "booty" camp was offered and I decided to take advantage of some more targeted workouts. The progress I made in an 8 week time period was amazing. I would definitely sign up for another 8 week "camp" if it was offered.

Overall I'm the strongest I've been in several years and the quality of the trainers and workouts is exceptional. Highly recommend.

I started the lab approximately 12 weeks ago. I was hesitant to try yet another gym, fearful that I would get burnt out or discouraged. What I found at Lab Athletics is my Lab family! The trainers are amazing! They are encouraging, fun-loving, and truly push me beyond what I thought capable. I've found, over the last twelve weeks, is the negative talk has been drowned out by the Lab trainers' encouragement.
I recently finished an eight week booty bootcamp in addition to weekly group and strength training. The results were absolutely incredible! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a positive supportive atmosphere. The workouts will kick your butt! All ages, stages, and body types show up and work together! It's encouraging to celebrate the progress of everyone at the Lab!

As a busy entrepreneur with a terrible schedule for working out and staying consistent, this is by far my favorite gym in bellingham! You can schedule classes anytime, order meal plans predone and delivered there, and for the price I paid, its 3x cheaper than personal training and I can go every single day, which is NO. 1 because I'm very inconsistent unless I have a team around me pushing me to show up when I don't want to! I did a six weeks fitness challenge with Lab Athletics, and I couldn't be happier with the results! I was nervous about strength training because of a foot injury and knee problems, but the trainers were great about making sure I was working out safely for my body. Not only do my joints not hurt--they feel stronger! I love the nutrition coaching, positive atmosphere, and feeling of community that these folks offer. Great place, awesome trainers. I have never considered myself a person that likes to work out. I have been over weight for the last 12 years. I used excuses to not work out. I joined several gyms and didn't have a clue what I was doing so I got discouraged and left. I saw the ad for Lab Athletics and decided to give it a go. I couldn't be happier with my decision. The trainers are amazing and they teach you how to properly train so you don't hurt yourself and get the best results. Having just finished the 6 week challenge at 'the Lab' I set out only with the goal of having more energy and Mike says, "well let's set something measurable". Not knowing what was realistic, he gives me a goal of 2% body fat. After 6 weeks I achieved my personal goal of simply having more stamina, but was down 15 pounds and 9% body fat. The facility is great and hours/classes to accommodate any schedule but felt all the real work was done in the classes - thanks to the 'nooners' crew. I have never considered myself a gym person and have always had a hard time getting into a workout routine that I enjoy enough to stick with beyond the occasional living room yoga session. After a long and sedintary winter, lower back/hip issues, and a new pregnancy I decided to give the 6 week challenge a try to get a kick start in a more healthy life style. I greatly appreciated that before I started Jake discussed with me my person individualized goals and didn’t just set standard goals for me that don’t counside with what I wanted to focus on. I also appreciated the meal planning aspect that was offered and how easy they made the shopping and food prep. Because I’m pregnant the meal plans didn’t quite fit my needs but I got great ideas on how I could modify and supplement it in order to better fit my needs. After the first week I felt (soar!!) like the structure of the program and the support and motivation from the knowledgeable staff was a great fit for me. Kim is amazing at meeting people at there ability level and encouraging everyone to push a little further where possible. Both her and Jake were quick to suggest modifications or alternative movements to accommodate injuries, health concerns, and limitations while at the same time maintaining the necessary rigor to meet individualized fitness goals. Lastly, I enjoyed the group setting and didn’t feel at all judged by anyone. It’s been so cool to come together with such different people at different levels with different goals and share encouragement and a sense of accomplishment at the end of each session. I signed up for the 6-week trial program and was able to surpass my weight loss goal, losing 23lbs in 6 weeks. I've decided to become a member because the training staff at Lab Athletics are awesome and the people working out there are great!

I have had some knee issues and was worried about reinjuring myself. The training staff is very accommodating, offering me alternative activities when I cannot do what was on the workout for the day. I have never felt less than or bad about my abilities working out here.

The people coming to the workout sessions range in age from their 20s to probably their 80s. The environment in the workouts is extremely positive - you can see it in the trainers and in the clients. I feel like I'm not only building muscle and losing fat, but I'm developing friendships and support in my health and fitness journey.

Thank you Jake, Yehleen, Mika, and Matt! (and Kim for getting me started!). I'm looking forward to continuing to work towards my goals.

I'm a fan of Lab Athletics. I went into the 6 week challenge looking to lose a couple pounds, lower my cholesterol, and feel like i was in better shape for sports and other interests. I was very pleased with the instructors as well as the other students in the class.
I'll admit that the deposit required to do the challenge was more than I make in a week so it was pretty intimidating. But myself and everyone else I know who did the challenge lost the weight and got back their money.
My favorite classes were the 530 ones Mon/Fri. Go and check them out!

What I love most about the Lab is that all fitness levels are welcome. The trainers are great at offering modifications or suggestions to make it work for you. Prepare for the workout of your life! I have taught group fitness classes, ran marathons, and been active for most of my adult life—but I have never been in as good of shape as I am now. Down 4 dress sizes since starting with Lab Athletics! The nutrition counseling has been irreplaceable, and significantly changed the way I think about food. There is great comraderie between members, everyone is so encouraging! I also work full time as a Physical Therapist Assistant and teach kinesiology classes. I can personally vouch that all of the trainers offer safe, effective exercises with no negative orthopedic issues. I wouldn’t work out here if this wasn’t the case. I have been with the Lab since October 2016 and not a day goes by where I’m not sore (a good sore) from awesome workouts from extremely knowledgeable trainers! The schedule is such that it’s broken down into lower body and upper body days so those muscle groups get a day of rest in between workouts. The trainers are extremely helpful in helping to switch out exercises if needed due to injury or weakness and the other clients are supportive and encouraging, making each class enjoyable yet effective! I am so glad that I found this place! Several of my friends took The Little Black Dress Challenge and enjoyed it; so the next time it became available, I joined in and have not looked back. I like working out with my fellow members who are as equally motivated as I am. I like training with the coaches. They care about their members. They understand that everyone is at a different level of fitness and so they modify the exercises accordingly. But they challenge you also to press just a little heavier, squat just little lower, jump a just little higher than what your mind is telling you you’re capable of.
