Tehran restaurant - You can slow down here.

Small but tastefully decorated, inside and outside seating, enough diversity on the menu but not so much that the entree is pre-made and frozen or refrigerated. I had the rice with currants, dates, raisins, lentils and chicken, the portions we were served were large and the rice was freshly made. The other entrees were equally ample. My mint tea and the Persian tea were served in glass as middle eastern tea should. The owners were friendly, we sat and and had an enjoyable conversation without feeling rushed. It has an authentic vibe and I highly recommend it. More...

My husband and I are visiting from NYC and we had an incredible lunch here. We were walking in my brother's neighborhood and discovered this gem of a restaurant with the most delicious homemade Persian food I have ever eaten aside from my mother's, grandmother's and cousin's (who just wrote a Persian cookbook) and I could have stayed there all day! ! The owners welcomed us as if we were family and the meal was one of the most memorable and delicious in my life. I wish we had a neighborhood restaurant like this...I would be there all the time. The food was clearly made by a great chef in terms of the flavors and freshness, but you also could taste the love that went into her food. We ordered a beef and chicken kabob sandwich, ash reshteh, and tea.  We ate outside in a beautiful and peaceful garden. We then ordered plenty of food to go as well.  In addition to our gratitude for this amazing food, we felt enveloped by the love and kindness of the owners and filled with gratitude for the experience of meeting them and for this amazing meal which truly nourished our souls!! Thank you!! More...

**SMALL, FAMILY-OWNED PERSIAN CAFE**Thank you, Yelp for leading me here.At first, by its store name, I was expecting a French bakery but it turned out to be an unassuming Persian bakery and cafe. They make their own baguettes, pita breads, and pastries in-house.PARKING========Street and metered.AMBIANCE=========Small, cozy, patio area.Lots of plants, welcoming, and relaxing.RATING: 4/5FOOD =====(LUNCH SPECIALS 11AM-3PM - $9.95 FOR KABOBS)--CHELO KABOB KOOBIDEHThe seasoned mixed ground lamb and sirloin (broiled on an open flame) was perfectly flavored and the texture is soft and wonderful. Their masto khiya sauce (yogurt, herbs, and chopped Persian cucumbers) is amazing; probably one of the best kabobs I've had in LA. The rice was fluffy with a tinge of butter (oh yes) and salad was fresh - great sides. RATING: 5/5The owner gave me a sample of their famous baklava and it was also very good!OVERALL========I usually go to Westwood Blvd. for Persian food but will definitely go here instead (closer to my house and love supporting local business). Lunch prices are the best in town and the neighborhood and friendly vibes makes it worthwhile. And best of all, the Persian cuisine is excellent. It does feel like the food was cooked at home by a loving Persian grandma.HIGHLY RECOMMEND. More...

This review is for the desserts only. I came in expecting a full pastry case but I came in at 9 pm so not sure what I was thinking. They only had a few leftover desserts for the day but I am always down to try anything. I was able to get the last tiramisu and I also bought a rice pudding made with saffron and without cream. Very ethnic and different from what I'm used to but I was delicious! Also the tiramisu was very good and had so much coffee in it that I couldn't sleep that night. :) Great small shop and will be back again! More...

This restaurant is a culinary treasure tucked into a tiny shop on Gregory Way, a quaint lane in Beverly Hills off South Robertson Blvd. Simin, the owner Chef is European trained and equally accomplished as a chef preparing fragrant Persian cuisine or as a pastry chef. She uses the freshest ingredients and cooks and bakes every dish and pastry from scratch. From the moment that you step off Robertson Blvd and enter the shop, you are transported to a quaint European bistro/cafe. The prices are incredibly reasonable. Brunch dishes like brioche French toast made with homemade brioche are amazing. The Eggs Benedict is delicious. Persian Stews and Kebobs are very good. The pastry, cookies, cakes and breads are not to be missed. Food and ambiance are welcoming and warm. Go hungry. To begin with, I love a French cafe that doesn't try too hard. You only have to walk in and take one look at the bakery to know if all else fails, here you can enjoy a delicious pastry and a very good cup of coffee. But the beauty of La Maison is its quiet and subtle perfection of simple French home cooking. Every ingredient is fresh from the apricots in a pastry to the sauce in an entrée. I have come here for a simple salad or a tuna sandwich and felt as though I were dining in the French countryside. Try any omelette and do not dismiss the soup. I don't think there is a disappointing meal to be had at La Maison. More...

Don't let the name of the restaurant fool you. It's not just a pastry bakery. It's also a great little restaurant with kabob and such. Be warned that this place is hard to find. It's down a little walkway behind a cafe. You can't see the sign from the sidewalk. But it's definitely worth finding. We had the organic chicken kabob plate with the saffron rice and hummus. DELICIOUS. The only thing better was the chocolate eclair. We got ours to go and it all stayed very fresh on our walk home.
