Okay, here we go. Menu prices are up WAY high. My wife and I came here for our wedding dinner and were shocked to see the same dishes we had last year anywhere from $8-10 more expensive. HOWEVER: the food was unbelievably good. I got the salmon and must say, one of the best I've ever had. My wife got the carbonara and it was made excellently. We will definitely be back for big anniversaries, just not on the regular. Compliments to the chef! More...

The food is okay; mostly I go for the atmosphere. There's always plenty of seating, it's quiet, and it feels fancy. If you go, though, go for the rolls and the entrees; the dessert isn't very good. You're better off eating here and then walking to a dessert place nearby. More...

Second time at La Jolla Groves, and just as good as the first! The ambiance is incredible; you're dining underneath lemon trees (fake trees but well-kept) with candle-lit dinner. The candles were lit at about 7 p.m when we were there in May. We got the Arancini for our appetizer (delicious, albeit a large appetizer). Be warned: the "Half Chicken" is literally half of a chicken, so it's pretty substantial. The "Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake" was rich but very yummy. Their presentation was beautiful as ever with very tasty food! More...

My wife and I had our wedding luncheon here, and just recently celebrated our 3rd anniversary with a dinner here as well. We love this restaurant. My wife always orders the herb crusted salmon, and I like to shake things up every time since it's all amazing. This last visit I had the braised rabbit fettuccine and it was, of course, exquisite. On top of the great food the 5-star service and unique, classy ambiance combine to make this a truly unforgettable dining experience. More...

Solid place to get an upscale meal in an unique setting. Our food was tasty and was unlike offerings at other places. Definitively superior to sit down chains if you are willing to pay the price. Servers are outstanding and really compliment the experience. The ambiance is a plus here and I enjoy the feeling of being in a garden or grove. There is ample parking here. Egress in the lot is tight and getting out to public roads is easy enough. More...

We were looking for a special place to take some newlywed friends out to dinner, and La Jolla Groves sounded interesting. What an inspired choice! The environment is as gorgeous as the food, perfect for everything from a romantic night out to a smart business meeting. Between us we had the mushroom bisque, which was amazing, equally yummy Caesar salad, chicken Alfredo with bacon and peas, (OMG good!), steak salad, ahi avocado salad, and tomato avocado salad. All of it was fantastic, and the dessert, (the chocolate mousse was to die for!) was the perfect ending. Just imagine sitting under a grove of lemon trees with hanging lanterns, eating some of the most delicious Italian food you’ve ever had, and you’ve got La Jolla Groves. More...

La Jolla Groves I've got to applaud you tonight for a job well done. The varied menu selection was the perfect balance of timeless classic dishes and unique one of a kind offerings. The braised rabbit fettuccini is definitely worth a shot. Pair this with an impressive wine list, incredible service, and affordable pricing and you'll get me coming back again and again! This place is great for both special occasions and or just Wednesday night shenanigans. Thank you for a wonderful experience Rob! I'm coming back for the lemon chicken, spicy tortellini and the pretzel fondue. Ok let's be honest, I am going to need to try the entire menu. Nothing disappointed tonight: meat/cheese platter, kale salad, fettuccini, and creme brûlée. See you soon La Jolla!! Cheers. More...

If you are looking for a fine dining experience that isn't too expensive then La Jolla Groves is the place to go. La Jolla Groves is located in the center of the Riverwoods in Provo. The restaurant is beautifully designed, a cove of lemon trees are overhead as you are served delicious pairings. Honestly, I have never had a bad dish here and they change their menu around during the different seasons. Eat one less roll so you can indulge in one of their fantastic desserts. I would recommend for business meetings, first date, anniversary, Valentines, large group gatherings--they accommodate all. More...

La Jolla Groves has been a long time family favorite for special occasions. Honestly, I have enjoyed everything that I've ever had. The service can be a little slower, so plan on a little more time than usual then relax and enjoy your meal. For starters I love the butternut soup and the mushroom soup. Their flavored lemonades are wonderful as well. For lunch I typically go with the blackened salmon salad or if I'm looking for something a little more filling the shrimp scampi. I went for something new tonight and tried the braised rabbit. It was really good, but the sauce was quite thin which made it a little difficult to eat and I did find two small bones in my dish. Next time I'm probably going to try the carbonara. It's new on the menu and I'm looking forward to their interpretation. No review of La Jolla Groves would be complete without talking about dessert so let me jump right to it and tell you to try the lemon cake (you'll thank me later). More...

La Jolla Groves is trying hard to be one of the fancier restaurants in the Provo / Orem area. They mostly succeed, though they could still improve in places. The food is great, but not very adventurous. This makes sense, as most of their potential clientele probably hasn't done a lot of fine dining. The prices are pretty close to what you'd expect. There is ample parking, though you will end up walking just a bit. The servers could be a little more polished, but service in general is very good. More...

We went in for dinner last weekend with my in-laws and had a great experience. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was quiet and clean, the food was expensive but really delicious. Came to LA Jolla Grove for a retirement dinner.  I've never been here before, or really heard much about the place.   I'd classify this place as fine dining casual.  The interior was decorated with  faux plants, lemon trees and small white lights.  The tables are all preset with linens, silver and glassware.  Some of the other reviews mentioned how slow the kitchen was.  We also experienced that.  It is something they really should work on.  The wait staff really brought their "A" game.  The waiters, bus staff, Manager really worked like a well oiled machine.  They had staff coming from all angles to keep the beverage carafes filled.  The food service was a little slow but not chaotic either.  Like I said before I think the problem originated in the kitchen.   But, in all fairness....they were also feeding a fair number of people in the dining room also.  I had the Salmon dinner and it was amazing.  Crispy salmon served over mixed vegetables and rice pilaf.  The fresh vegetables were cooked perfectly!  The same could be said about the Salmon.  It was a memorable dinner. I look forward to coming back. More...

What a lovely gem in Provo! Service was attentive without being overwhelming and the food was scrumptious. I had the watermelon salad and Salmon both had unique and unexpected flavors that just worked. The butter sauce on the salmon was to die for - I could have a bowl of it daily! Desserts were varied in flavors and tasty. The lemon cake is quite special and doesn't disappoint. Went with a group from work so didn't check out the wine list but will be back with hubby for a weekend dinner. Perfect for a nice meal any day of the week or for a special romantic dinner. Some feel the $25-$45 price points are high but I think it is totally worth the value and superior quality to other similarly priced locals. More...

Dinner at La Jolla Groves was a pleasant experience. I was impressed with the ambiance of the restaurant and the service was impeccable. The waiter was very helpful with meal and drink decisions. As we were waiting for our drink orders, a man in a rather large chef hat approached our table and introduced himself as the owner. He told us about a wine pairing dinner he had the night before and offered some of the leftover wine in place of our original offers but at a discounted price. Our table gladly accepted the offer of a better wine! The owner chatted with us for awhile which was very welcomed. I ordered the mushroom bisque and salmon with cilantro butter. The soup was yummy and I would definitely order again. The salmon dish had many great flavors and the fish had a beautiful sear on it but was dry for my taste. Overall, a good experience and I would undoubtedly go again. More...

Had lunch here with a friend while in town. What a great experience. The ambience is relaxed yet upscale. You'll be equally comfortable here in jeans and a t-shirt or in a dress or suit. And the pace of service is also casual. The food is outstanding. Some of the best you will find in Utah. We had an entrée salad with salmon and a nut crusted halibut. Both excellent. Well prepared and tasty. We somehow managed to make room for desert. The crème brûlée was well executed and good, but lacked any "wow" factor. The bread pudding was incredible and to die for. It was super tasty and had a ton of "wow" factor--a very nice, modern interpretation of this ages old dish.Somehow, with conversation between old friends, I didn't manage to get any photos. Oh well. I am sure we'll return next time we are in town.Utah County, you should support great places like this because you have so few of them. Don't let it die on the vine. More...

A group of 8 wanted to go out to eat for some birthdays.  Original plan was Tucanos but they were full.  Half of our group had been to La Jolla Groves before and suggested it.  After looking at the mixed reviews, I was a little hesitant.  We ended up going.Wow, it was great!  Service was excellent, kept up with our needs (bread and drinks), food was presented visually appealing  and everything we ordered tasted excellent!  4 of our group got the Salmon and said it was the best salmon they've ever had.  Another got the medallions and said they melted in their mouth it was so tender. At the waitress's recommendation, I got the Roasted Pepper Chicken/Tortellini and it was fantastic!  The wedge salad was good but required more dressing.Like most upper scale restaurants however, the food presentation was as good as the taste, but portions were small and overpriced.  The entree's should come with salad or soup.  The only thing keeping my review from 5 stars is the price.  Would we come here again?  Probably not unless it was once a year for like an anniversary or something like that because it's pricey. Our family group of twenty gathered here for a last-minute Christmas party. Their banquet rooms were already reserved, but they put several tables together in a corner for us so we were mostly out of the way. Jacob was an excellent server. He moved the meal along at a good pace, kept our drinks refilled, brought out several baskets of rolls with butter, served meals close together, coordinated four different bills, etc. Everyone loved the food. Several ordered tenderloin or chicken with pasta. Some salads and soups (French onion, butternut squash, mushroom bisque, spicy tomato). We tried their lemon cake, creme brûlée, molten chocolate cake a la mode, and bread pudding for dessert. My only complaint is that the entree portions were small for the price. Parking was somewhat of a hassle on a busy Saturday night. Most of us had never been here so it took awhile to find the restaurant. There was a long line to visit Santa outside, lots of beautiful Christmas lights and decorations around the shopping center, a cool stage under a gazebo, etc. Hopefully we'll be back to try more items. Incredibly impressed! Came here for a holiday work dinner, and it couldn't have gone smoother. Service-wise, the team of servers was great! Not once did anyone on the table have to worry about drinks or bread being available, and even with cocktails, the server was very attentive on refills. Though we sat in the group area, which was still classy, the rest of the restaurant is very romantic, so great place for dates. Our menu was condensed considering it was customized to select menu items, but still had no problem finding great choices. We started with coconut crusted shrimp and spinach-dip appetizers. Wish we had more bread for the dip, but considering we had plenty of bread rolls, that made up for it.  For the main course I personally had the Prosciutto Chicken, which was amazing! I managed to sneak a few bites of my date's ravioli, which was equally as good. And finally dessert, I had the Lemon Cake - just as tasty as it is gorgeous to look at with the caramel dome. Overall, I left very satisfied without that sick-full/bloated feeling. Also, it was a nice touch for the chef to come out and thank everyone for coming :) I get that not everyone who comes will get that treatment, but I wanted to recognize the chef for that. Do know though that my review is somewhat bias as my work paid for it, and I have no idea how much it cost (guessing around $60-$70/person?) so take that into account as far as gauging value. What To Get: the artichoke & spinach dip is great to start with, followed with the Prosciutto Chicken and wow your night with the Lemon Cake. I was expecting this place to be small with alright food and decent service. I went here for a prom dinner and the waiters were surprisingly very kind and easy to talk to. From other experiences in other restaurants for school dances and things like that, I've noticed it's difficult for adults to take teens seriously, which I totally understand, however it makes the experience less enjoyable. I think I would really rate this as more of a 3.5 but I'll give the benefit here up to 4. La Jolla has a nice atmosphere but don't go unless you have time to sit and chat. Because they don't rush anything. Food is good. I actually did love the fries with my sandwich but the sandwich was average. Appetizers have always been good and those I was with really enjoyed pasta and salmon. The lemon cake is a nice way to finish off a meal but is rich enough to share between a few people More...

I've never had a problem with wait times coming here. Food and service is always good. Reading through other people's reviews it seems like others have had problems with wait times. That would be so frustrating! I'm glad that hasn't happened to me. It is a tad bit on the pricier side so I don't always come here, but I do enjoy coming here when I do. Their steak sandwich is a great option for $10. I had their shrimp and steak for a Valentines special and I think it was $60. The $10 was just as good as the $60 so don't think you have to get the most expensive thing to have a good meal here. I love every single one of their desserts! Their cheesecake is surprisingly very delicious. I love their Creme brûlée and their strawberries and cream dessert. I hope they can keep a standard of excellence! More...

La Jolla Groves is one of those places in Provo that I think everyone should eat at some time in their life. The ambiance is great! nice lemon trees overhead, very clean, and classy. Our waiter was very kind and made the night great. The food was delicious. I had the Lemon Chicken entree which came with garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables. The dish was beautifully plated, and surprisingly filling. At first glance I felt like I wasn't getting much bang for my buck, but the dish is deceptive. The Butter crusted salmon looked great. The cilantro rice was different because I honestly thought it tasted like rice-a-roni.I think the biggest problem I encountered was the wait. There weren't very many people in the restaurant but i felt it took forever to get our check, and have our food boxed. More...

I would recommend this place to anyone. My wife and I visited for the first time a couple weeks ago and we were very pleased with the experience. First and foremost the food was excellently prepared. I started with the butternut squash soup as an appetizer and had the pork tenderloin for my main course. The soup was delicious! It was very tasty and served at the perfect temperature to be enjoyed right away. The tenderloin also was very delicious, quite tender and had a good flavor. The atmosphere was fun too. They have lemon trees above your head with lights that look like the night sky. Our waiter was very courteous. He even asked if this was our first time visiting. Our food was served in a timely manner and we were checked up on several times throughout the evening and were asked if everything was to our satisfaction. The only reason I don't give this a five star is that the price was a little steep. We will definitely be going back in the future as the food was very good, but for the price I rate this a four star. Definitely worth visiting though! More...

This is one of our favorite places to eat. We've tried probably 75% of the menu and have not been disappointed in anything. Prices are reasonable and we have always found the staff to be friendly and competent. Any special requests we've put in have been met with no hesitation. Our 2 favorite items on the menu are the beef medallions and the salmon salad. The medallions are perfectly tender and flavorful each and every time. Easily one of the best dishes there, IMO. Their desserts are scrumptious and their appetizers are tasty as well. The bruschetta was the clear favorite until we had to go gluten free. The cheese platter is quite outstanding and bears quite a bit of food for an appetizer. Something you'd want to share with several people. We love that they use fresh, seasonal ingredients, local and organic when they can. We eat here several times a year and would highly recommend La Jolla Groves. More...

I really love this restaurant.  I eat there as often as I can.  Service has been what I hoped service ought to be at a restaurant of this caliber.  The appetizers are well thought out and delicious.  The décor is a breath of fresh air.  I always feel welcome here.  The main dishes are much better than what you get at most Utah restaurants and I would call the main dishes delicious.  And the atmosphere of the location is wonderful.  Great specialty and unique shops and even a really cool and fun play zone for kids and adults a few doors down called Provo Beach.  I will continue to spend my money here because of it's value, feel, and taste I get to experience each time I return.  I recommend this with 5 stars.  p.s. you can go to La Caille restaurant in Salt Lake City and pay easily 3-4 times more for food no better than La Jolla Groves. I loved this place! I went earlier in the day, so my wife and I almost had the whole place to ourselves. It was our anniversary, so it was kinda nice. We had 2 appetizers (the butternut squash soup, and the roasted artichoke and spinach croustade) which were both phenomenal. We shared them, and neither of us could decide what we liked more. I couldn't decide what I wanted for the entree, so we got 3. I got the tenderloin medallions, and the baked shells and white cheddar gratin, and my wife got the cilantro-butter crusted salmon. The medallions were to die for! I loved every bite. My wife raved over the salmon as well. The shells and cheese were a bit under seasoned, but at least it had bacon. For desert, I got the Lemon cake (which was amazing) and my wife got the chocolate bundt cake (again, we couldn't decide which we liked more). All in all, with 2 appetizers, 3 entrees, and 2 desserts, it was just over $80. Not nearly as much as I was expecting. The service was good, but the food was delicious. It's my new favorite restaurant, hands down. We'll be coming back for sure. More...

Atmosphere gets 5 stars - really a beautiful restaurant. I've been here 3 times now and each time I leave thinking the food wasn't worth the price. Everything is just $5 too expensive it seems. I did have my favorite meal I've had the last time I went there - the steak medallions are amazing. Just amazing. If you get one thing on the menu I'd suggest it be that. There are many things I really like about La Jolla Groves. First, I love that this Provo-based resto takes reservations - it's a rarity in these parts. Our party of four arrived, and were seated before we could even take in the atmosphere. They were definitely on top of it, especially for a Saturday evening. We've found the food and service here to be consistently good. They're very friendly and attentive. Informed...maybe not so much about everything. But always miles of smiles!I get such a kick out of UtCo wait staffers whose job it is to take bar/alcohol orders, but are completely clueless about the subject. Some even sport attitude, as if to say, "I wouldn't stoop to learn about alcohol, even if it is my job, you heathen!" Our waiter for the evening was spot-on in every way, but he did fall proudly under the above description, and didn't hesitate to let us know in his non-verbal way that he wasn't comfortable. We didn't even mind. The cocktails are not worth the price, however, as per usual for most UtCo places. The Hubby is much more adventurous here than am I, simply because I'm a little stuck on a couple of menu items - the Mushroom Bisque, and the Lemon Roast Chicken. Yes, they're so so good.  Hubby loves the Tenderloin, the Pork Chop, and the Chicken Marsala - in fact, Mr. Hard To Please has raved about them all. Our friends order the Butternut Squash soup (also deserving of praise), the Shells and Cheese (delicious, they say!), and the Shrimp Scampi (he actually said he could eat three more plates of this!). Bottom line: we haven't had a single thing at LJG that we would hesitate to order again. My one gripe - aside from the Lemon Cake, which is very good but rich-rich-rich, they only offer ONE lemon dish? C'mon La Jolla, step up the lemon-based offerings for those of us who come here for this exact reason! Note: be prepared to do some substantial walking to/from parking here. Riverwoods has blocked off nearly every means of getting from lot to lot, so really just cross your fingers and hope you don't freeze on the way to insulate yourself with more yummy food. More...

First time at La Jolla after a few people had recommended it to me.  I would definitely say for the decor and service, you're paying for it.  The prices are pretty good for a high end restaurant and the food itself was good.  I wouldn't say this is the top of the line 5 star food but it's getting close.  Service was definitely superb and the attention and details that went into presentation.Food wise, I ordered the beef and shrimp, a few appetizers (cheese platter, mushroom and spinach/artichoke which were all decent).  The food itself was good and tasty although the beef sauce was on the bit salty side.  Dessert was definitely interesting with the lemon cake.  I would come back but only on special occasions. Portions are relatively petite.I had the crusted salmon on basmati rice and vegetables, and my wife had the chicken Alfredo pasta. Both were very good. The citrus creme brûlée was slightly tangy with the obligatory sugar crust on top, and the cream lemon cake was slightly tart without being too sweet and exquisitely presented. The service was friendly, and the decor is very nice. The staff was so friendly and didn't bat an eye when my husband requested two desserts since it was our wedding day. The food here is incomparable. For an appetizer (the 1st time we went) we ordered the fruit and cheese platter. The White Cheddar was my favorite, followed by the Brie and Swiss. I'm not a Gorgonzola fan myself, but it looked nice. The cheeses were paired with fruits, candied walnuts and toast. They had more than enough cheese and fruits for four people. For my entree I ordered the medallions and cleaned my plate (a rare occurrence). The small potatoes and veggies were delicious and cooked so well it almost brought tears to my eyes. Just a few interesting facts in the world that we may not have foreseen a year ago: A 16-year-old boy named Justin Bieber is the most popular human being on earth; Conan O'Brien has a show on TBS; Jimmer Fredette and the BYU men's basketball team are ranked No. 3 in the nation (for now); Charlie Sheen is a crack addict (Okay, you saw that one coming -- Two and a Half Men is awful, by the way); and finally, the Provo culinary scene is booming with new, delicious restaurants that are worth trying. There seems to be a throng of fresh, creative restaurants springing up all over Utah County -- places like Communal, Pizzeria 712, Station 22 and Rooster, just to name a few. I recently discovered a new restaurant that made me even more proud to be a Provo-ite: La Jolla Groves. Tucked in the newly enhanced and bustling Shops at Riverwoods, La Jolla Groves is using fresh, locally-grown ingredients to prepare their insanely delicious dishes. In fact, the restaurant's slogan is "Insanely good food, healthier ingredients" -- very appropriate, if you ask me.There's something special about produce that was grown just a few miles from where it was cooked and served. All of La Jolla Groves' produce comes from their local farms and greenhouses. You can taste the freshness. You really can. I believe that's the most important reason why their menu is so delicious. The second reason is the chefs know what they're doing. I ordered the roasted chicken marsala with au grautin and sweet potatoes, and it was cooked to perfection. The chicken was moist, tender and seasoned perfectly, the potatoes were creamy, and the sauce was buttery and rich, but not overpoweringly so. It's interesting how food that should be so heavy and dense can be made to taste light and delicate. That's what you get at good restaurants.Eating at La Jolla Groves is like dining in a lemon orchard -- literally. If you look to the ceiling, you will see branches and leaves with hanging lemons. It seems like it's designed to make you feel like you're in California, which is definitely not a bad thing. I'm a big fan of the décor. You can tell they care about the customer experience. La Jolla Groves' staff is educated and accommodating. The last time my wife and I went we had to wait a bit longer than expected for our entrees, which we hardly even noticed anyway. A few minutes after our entrees arrived, the manager came by and said, "We noticed that your entrees took a little longer than expected. Save some room, we want you to pick anything you want off of the dessert menu, on the house." Well, as if we weren't already won over, the service made the food taste even better.Of all of the things we didn't see coming, delicious eateries springing up in Provo may not be such a surprise. Please go and check out La Jolla Groves -- I promise you will be a belieber... I mean, believer. More...

If you want a fun romantic restaurant or a great place to go with the girls, come to La Jolla Grove. When you are seated, you feel like you are dining in a grove of lemon trees. I have gone here several times, and am always pleased with my meal. They use fresh ingredients and the portion sizes are smaller than the average restaurant these days, but still filling. What We Got...Herb Chicken Pappaedelle $13.75Any pasta dish served with fresh homemade noodles is that much more delicious. Jen got this dish and said it was amazing.Shrimp Pasta with Roasted Tomatoes and Spinach $14.95The shrimp was served over angel hair pasta, my favorite, with a light citrus butter sauce. It had a wonderful blend of tomatoes and spinach. Another winner at La Jolla Gtove.Butternut Squash Ravioli $14.25I thought this was a nice change from regular cheese and meat ravioli.  The butternut flavor was great. On top was a thin slice of apple, for a touch of well thought detail. The dish was delicious, served with a savory pumpkin cream with carrots and potatoes.Service...The service was ok. A bit slow. When I mean slow, I refer to the waiter in being slow to get us rolls, fill drinks, and bring our check. We got our food in normal time, but we were at the restaurant for a while because of the other factors. It was fine because we weren't pushed for time, and it was fun to chat and catch up with friends both times.Overall... Green light restaurant. I originally gave this place two stars, barely, and emailed the company my feelings on the matter, and what had been wrong with my visit.  They made it right.  These guys honestly want everyone to have a good experience, and that was rare enough for me that I had to try it again.I got a different waiter, and he was good (go Josh!). To give it a fair enough shake the two of us tried two appetizers and three entrees. The cheese platter is solid and good, and the stuffed mushrooms (when eaten with the greens they come with, don't eat them by themselves) were delicious.  The chicken crepes were good, much better than the steak sandwich which caused so many issues the night before.  The chicken pesto pasta was quite good, not too strong like some pesto, and very creamy.  I thought it could use more of the veggies that garnish it, as they went quite well with it, and it turns out that if you ask, they will give you more. The pinnacle of the evening, however, was the tenderloin medallions.  They were quite good, and I would return for those alone. After my previous experience, I read over 100 reviews on various sites, and people either love or hate this place.  As far as I can tell, the ones that hate it are either foodies who want more pizazz and excitement, or non-foodies who think they should have huge portions.  All I can say is for the foodies to try the medallions and the others to understand the type of restaurant it is.Still, worth checking out.  I will be trying them again, a little further down the road.  Interesting things may be coming from them in the future. This was our first time here and we were plesantly surprised.  The atmosphere is amazing and the food looked fantastic.  The kitchen was running a little slow the night we were there, it was a very busy Friday night.  So our waiter offered free dessert, that is a great thing in my book.  My husband ordered the beef medallions and I ordered the chicken crepes.  I thought mine tasted good, but I would probably not order it again.  The beef medallions were fantastic and I would most likely order those.  I thought the food was fresh and delicious. I like the focus on healthy food.  The portions are small but that doesnt bother me.  The desserts were delicious and we always had a full glass of water...huge plus!  I would definitely return. They do accept reservations and I would probably do that next time.  They seem to stay quite busy.  And I must add that I cannot believe other reviewers are comparing this restaurant to the olive garden.  It is not a fair comparison and frankly completely inaccurate. The description for the roasted chicken was something like "if you had all day to roast a chicken, this is how you would want it," and that was spot on.  Both times I've gone, the service was great and the food top notch.  The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food.  I would judge the whole experience to be just a tiny step down from a Chef's table experience at a fraction of the price. I thought this restaurant was outstanding in all respects.  We had a party of 5 at lunch today and each of us truly enjoyed our meals.  The beef medallions dish, which 2 of us ordered, hit the mark - great taste. The salad, soup, deserts - all quite good.  And the decor is very classy as well. All round, a great choice. More...

Went here for the first time last night. Great atmosphere, Excellent service (friendly, accommodating) Great tasting food and reasonable prices.  I highly recommend the mushroom soup. Their lemon cake was amazing! Absolutely loved it.  I would have liked to see a wine list but it definitely wasn't a deal breaker for me. More...

This place is seriously incredible.  The decor and focus on costumer service make it a stand out in a world full of meh dinning experiences.  The dishes are very focused on fresh and seasonal dishes that are simple but layered with wonderful flavors.  With wonderfully affordable pricing this is a great location for any event.  I find myself visiting La Jolla Groves at least three times a month and I can't wait to keep going back! Great place! I got the beef tenderloin medallions and it was insanely delicious! It's a pretty fancy place, but the food's not as expensive as you would think. Everything is about $10-15 a plate. You won't be stuffed when you leave but the portions are definitely big enough. Just don't expect to get two meals out of it. The staff is very friendly and the decor is really nice. This would be a great place for a date or fancy dinner. More...

A little pricey but a perfect place to go if you want a nice setting and fresh food.  The service is a little poor, but I really enjoyed the food and it's the right proportions.

Great food and terrific ingredients. They also have a small locale attached to the restaurant where they sell breads, desserts, etc. (Some of which aren't available through the main restaurant, like the butternut squash soup.) More...

I have been to this restaurant several times and I have really enjoyed the food and the service at each meal.  The free rolls they give you are almost as good as homemade and the balsamic vinaigrette is one of the best I've ever had.  The salmon with cilantro butter tastes very fresh and is perfectly seared on each side.  My husband ordered the chicken marsala and it was better than I've had at some Italian restaurants.  For dessert, the orange creme brulee is very creamy, not gritty at all, and the orange zest lightens the heavy custard.  I have also tried the lemon cake which, surprisingly, has a very pronounced lemon flavor in both the cake and the icing.  I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will eat there again and again. My new favorite restaurant here in Utah. I used to live in the SF Bay Area. All of the restaurants in the Provo/Orem area are sub-par when compared with the fare available in NorCal. That having been said, La Jolla Groves is surpurb when compared to the other restaurants here in Northern Utah. The bar isn't very high. So La Jolla Groves stands head and shoulders above any other restaurant here in Northern Utah. Compared with NorCal, I would put it somewhere near the middle of the pack in terms of quality. More...

This is an incredibly good restaurant.  I especially love the simple, fresh menu and the cool indoor environment.  My service was spectacular as well.  The only complaint would be the portion size, but you can make up for it with bread or appetizers.  Sirloin is DELISH! More...

I was a big fan of Chef's Table when Chef Kent Anderson was the owner and was looking forward to eating at La Jolla Groves for several months now. I had some high expectations beforehand and believe me, I was not disappointed. The roasted artichoke and spinach dip was perfection, the rolls were melt-in-your-mouth delicious, my chicken and mushroom stuffed crepes were unbelievable (I don't even like mushrooms) and the moist lemon cake was scrumptious. I'll be recommending La Jolla Groves to everyone I know and will definitely be dining there in the future. More...

Closest thing to fine dining in the valley. Food was delicious, service 5 stars. We had a very large group and they accommodated our every whim. Pay no regard to the negative reviews, we had 10 in our party and every entree received compliments. I had the Ahi tuna salad and it was perfectly light. I splurged with the Lemon Tiramisu and sampled others. The Tiramisu was the crowd favorite. I would give it 5 stars but I'm real stingy with that rating. More...

This was a fantastic restaurant who's food was healthier, organic, natural and for all that was a fantastic price with most dishes between $10 and $15Ambiance: AThis place was amazing. It is decorated like a lemon grove inside of a beautiful vineyard hacienda. Found in the middle of the newly renovated Riverwoods central area, it is a beautiful addition.Service: ADespite being incredibly busy the staff was attentive and got us a table quickly. Our waiter was well versed on the entire menu and very helpful and friendly. The food was well-prepared and very timely in its delivery.Food: AThis restaurant focuses on using foods grown organically in Utah. Typically when I see something like that on a menu I expect a handful of earthy salads and a couple chicken dishes that are passé. Fortunately I found this place to have a much wider and more delicious menu of options.Amuse bouche: Ok, so I only used that term because I heard it somewhere but what is the generic term for the bread or chips or other items restaurants bring to the table while you are ordering... in any case La Jolla Groves brings a basket of freshly baked breads that you can also order from their bakery which is attached. The roll I loved was one that I believe was a spinach asiago roll. It was warm, fresh and flavorful.Appetizer: We had the bruccetta which what fresh and flavorful. The crostini had a good crunch and flavor, which is a must for me, and the grape tomato bruccetta topping with freshly grated romano cheese gave it a fresh, sweet yet savory taste. My entrée: I had the tenderloin which is a dish I am always cautious with. Lucky for me someone at the table next to me had it delivered as I was debating it and it looked amazing. It was a very tender and juicy steak marinated to make it slightly sweet which, when paired with the mango chutney, was delicious. It was cooked perfectly (I ordered it medium rare) with a well seared outside with little corners of savory crust you expect from a good tenderloin. It came with potatoes and a couple asparagus spears which, for some, may seem like a small serving. If you are a big eater get a soup with this.My wife's entrées: My wife had the Mushroom Soup and the Philadelphia Steak Sandwich (came to about $14 together and was not too much or too little food). The soup was very rich and savory. It is now my favorite mushroom soup around. Her sandwich was on a freshly baked herb-flavored roll and had a tomato mayo which both set it apart from other Philly Steak sandwiches. It was very flavorful and the roll and mayo complimented the steak and provolone very well. The sandwich also included a side salad which was good but nothing to write home to mom about.Desert: We had the Chocolate Mousse Cake which is a small chocolate bundt cake that is very fluffy and light with the center filled with a molten rich chocolatey sauce and then garnished with a piece of milk chocolate that is slowly melting into the molten center. All served over a vanilla sauce to compliment the rich chocolate. Perfect size for about 1-2 people but is VERY rich so if you are not a rich desert person you will definitely want to share.Overall: AThis was one of the best dining experiences in Utah for me. The ambiance was light and fun, the service prompt friendly and helpful, the food well prepared, presented and delicious and all for a price that was pleasantly surprising. Obviously I spent more as you can see from my order but if you are an appetizer and entrée person or an entrée and desert person you will easily get out around $20 a person. This is a place I will be visiting again VERY soon! Great atmosphere. Food was excellent. Staff was pleasant and efficient. We had the beef tenderloin and the salmon. Both were incredibly delicious (and I'm not much of a fish guy).Best high-class feel restaurant in Provo for the money - and the food is definitely well above average.Only complaint would be that the portions were smaller than I expected. Great high class food for a good price. My wife got the $4 mushroom soup. I don't even like mushrooms but that was the best soup I've ever had!I got the salmon which was a bit small but amazingly good. The vegetables surrounding it were fresh and delicious. Make sure to get their artisan breads which are great. The salmon size was perfect if you have some bread before hand. Will definitely go back. :) More...

This is a great restaurant that just opened in the Riverwoods mall. Their goal is to have delicious food that is healthy for you. They do this by using organically grown ingredients whenever possible. The staff was very friendly and joked around with our group. They were very prompt in delivering refills which is probably the most important quality to me.We ordered a cheese appetizer and some bruschetta. These were both very delicious. Everyone else in the group enjoyed their meal, but my shrimp pasta was only decent. I did not enjoy the sauce on the noodles. The shrimp were very good though.Overall it seems like a great restaurant. The service is great, the food is good, and it is not expensive. I plan to go back soon More...

New restaurant that will surprise your taste buds. Great food. You will love the salmon. Great spice infused rolls. The la Jolla salad was light and refreshing. Their Margarita had just the right amount of kick. You will love the ambiance and feel like you are under a grove of lemon trees at dusk. Great service as well. Lemon tiramisu was delicious! More...
