For a mall based eatery, I enjoyed the visit. Many options to choose from (almost too many). I had their Shrimp Salad, Beef empanadas, and some Sauvignon. The waitress that recommended the salad was very charming.I think if you're going out with a work gang for lunch, this would be a perfect spot. The bar food is more than adequate, and they have some decent happy hour prices.I stopped by for early dinner, which was sort of a miss, as I felt like the food isn't filling enough to be Dinner-worthy. Kellis & Ray were super sweet. The one gentleman who waited on us (I believe it was his first week with the company)-you would have never known. He was so great at helping us & was very kind throughout the whole meal. The lady who first approached us (the older GM lady) was so rude & actually told us if we wanted to sit outside that we could not come back in.‍-really?!!! She was so rude that had the new waiter not been so nice this review would have gone over very differently. Thank you for your kindness & for waiting on us! More...

I love coming here after a long day of shopping, but recently came here with a group of friends as a equal meet up place for dinner. NOTE to self: they will NOT seat you "until your full party has arrived" boooo. Food is good. Drinks are from scratch. It's a great try. More...

I really like La Duni - Unfortunately there is not one in Fort Worth. So on occasion when I am in Dallas I go to one either off Knox Henderson or Northpark mall. I prefer Northpark mall because they have the chicken Milanesa on the menu and it is fabulous. It comes with mashed potatoes and green beans. The green beans are grilled and crisp and flavorful and delicious! Good food, good coffee, and I am always too full for dessert, but they look delicious. More...

The food is very tasty and the ambiance it's really nice. It's an overview of Latin American cuisine. The have a mix platter for appetizers which has empanadas, sweet plantains, cheese balls and tostones (also plantain but fried). They have all kind of food, from tacos, to chorizo burgers, chicken salads, salmon, and others. The best part I should say it's the desserts the triple chocolate Venezuelan cake it's my favorite, followed by the tres leches. Drinks are OK, they have a great wine selection, and have lemonade with club soda which is my fav. Service has always been good, and it can be pricey. But it's worth it. More...

Recently I had Sunday brunch at La Duni for the first time in over a year and I was pleasantly surprised. With so many restaurants in Dallas it's easy to forget about an old favorite. I ordered the brunch Chile Relleno and it was very flavorful relleno filled with a perfect combination of eggs, cheeses and bacon with some delicious salsa verde on the side. It comes with breakfast potatoes that are roasted and cooked perfectly.  I'm so happy to have rediscovered La Duni, it was like seeing old friend. More...

Don't even second guess it, this place is off the charts amazing!!!!Food: You will fall in love after trying the empanadas stuffed with shredded beef, encased in a golden shell made of corn. Make sure to order extra because the serving size of 3 is not enough. Carne Asada platter was split between 2 people, they upcharge $3.50 to give it in separate plates which includes extra beans and rice. Totally worth it. Portions were perfect. Not sure how someone would be able to eat it by themselves. There is a side of cheese with the perfect slab of meat and it all goes together so perfectly. I practically licked it off my plate. *** my friend said it's "the only place in Dallas that knows how to make a mojito" Service: Sweetest waiter, didn't catch his name though.  He gave us a $25 voucher to come again! Atmosphere: Oh this place is super bougie. Definitely not what I was expecting when I walked in. Decor is classy and chic, with Spanish and French vibes. Crowd is a bit older so you won't find anyone taking pictures of their food. 15/10 recommend More...

When my wife and me get a break we like a place where we can sit back in a nice atmosphere and this is what we found in La Duny at McKinney Ave. in Dallas! We called a dear friend who is a map for great places in Texas, and she recommended La Duny. Coffee was outstanding as they have such a variety it is hard to choose. After we had a Cuban sandwich with ripe plantains which were just great! Service was great as well. To finalize, our friend Lisa said we could not leave without trying their "4 Leches" which was a sin....so we will sin again eventually!! For breakfast, brunch it is a great place to be! Try it, you will like it very much! More...

Raves all around from our group of four who enjoyed a quiet Friday dinner last week. I'd only been to La Duni for breakfast and brunch, so sampling the dinner fare was a treat. My mojito martini was refreshing and not too sweet. Others enjoyed beer and a lemon martini on the cocktail menu. We took the server's recommendation and were all pleased with our meals. I had the half chicken served with an aromatic, flavorful sauce. My friends raved about their food--the beef (bistec) and a shrimp dish.  Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that the guacamole was phenomenal--a unique twist on a staple. Service was leisurely. We now have a new spot to add to our dinner rotation. More...

One of my favorite restaurant!! This place is located in Nothpark mall, so it is so convenient for me to shop and eat at the same time! My favorite go-to dish is Trio salad. I don't know what's so special about it, but it is so good! The balance between those three salads are wonderful. My husband tried their taquitos, and it was delicious. I have not had chance to try La Duni's dessert. I would love to get some cake next time with coffee! More...

I came in with my friend and I for lunch yesterday. There was no wait and it was after 12 PM. We got seated right away with no problem. Joel was our server and he was good and kept checking on us and updating us on where our order was at and how soon it should be out. I was quite pleased, as his service was above and beyond. He was very attentive and answered our questions regarding the menu. For appetizer, my friend and I decided to try the Texas Dip. Let me tell you, that was so delicious!!! The salsa that came with our chips before our appetizer had a lovely kick to it. To me that was not a problem, as I have built some tolerance to spice to some extent. As far as the main lunch meal, my friend and I decided to split the rib-eye fajitas. That itself was enough for two gals. We decided on a well done rib-eye. Rib-eye tasted savory and definitely came out sizzling hot. We got corn tortillas and it was "unlimited," meaning we got like 5 corn tortillas for us to share, as requested. :) The fajita platter definitely was enough to share with my friend and I. I even added the Texas Dip and it made my fajitas taste wonderful!! Our dessert was Baked Alaska, I think the kahlua being poured in it was a winner for my taste buds. I definitely would go back for the dessert. I just feel bad, I never got to use my $2 off for being a Yelper and have accidentally marked it used. Hopefully, I can come back and make it work for me. I really did appreciate the manager explaining it to me. Service --- 5 starsPrice--For where the area is at, reasonable in my opinionFood---- 5 stars, muy deliciosa!!! More...

This is such a cozy, elegant cafe. I came here on a lunch date so I didn't have long to spare. Angel was our server and understood we were on a time crunch. He gave us recommendations on food which the polo aljibe caught my attention due to it having a champagne sauce. I thought that was a classy spin on roasted chicken. 1) service was amazing. Waiter was friendly and everything was time officiant from us being seated, orders taken, served and received check. I love empanadas so being at an authentic Argentina restaurant i rightfully so ordered some. I ordered the chicken empanadas they were fried fresh and didn't have a grease taste to them. I wish that they made some with meat and cheese combined but the one we had were delightful. Only thing is the empanadas did not come with any sort of sauce. But our waiter did bring me out a side of salsa to enjoy with them and it really did the trick, the salsa was full of flavor and made fresh. Now the main course, The chicken entree is more than enough if you are coming in for a quick lunch. My date and I was actually able to share seeing that we had an appetizer as well. You get a leg quarter with rice, black beans and a few pieces of plantain. Now, I for one am not a fan of plantain. I don't care for the texture nor taste but these were literally the best plantains I've ever had. They were sweet and did not have that bitter taste like most plantains have. I have spread the word about this hidden gem to plenty of friends and I plan to come back for dinner to try drinks as well because there were so many oof options to choose from. And when service is great you want to keep coming back. More...

My mom and I came here before heading to a play for the evening and we loved our experience! The space is beautiful, and feels so elegant. When you enter through the mall, there is a small little coffee counter by the host stand. You can order coffee at the table as well not just at the counter! Our server was excellent and I wish I had gotten her name, because she not only had an impressive memory, but took care of all her tables with ease. For an appetizer we ordered the tx queso, and I couldn't recommend that more! It might be a little odd at first since it's green, but it was such a unique delicious take on queso! I used it on my meal it was so tasty!I ordered the Panchos (grown up nachos with beans and cheese. The nachos are LOADED! I couldn't eat them all it was so filling. Some of the best nachos I've had, the Mexican cream on top was a fantastic addition that should be on more nachos. My mom ordered the Pechuga de pollo con broccoli. This was the standout dish of the night. The chicken was so juicy and flavorful, the veggies were delicious, and the mashed potatoes were just buttery goodness. I think chicken can get pretty boring, and I wanted to switch with her and order more!I even ordered an espresso at the table, just ask them for the cafe menu and you can order anything from the coffee counter at your table. This spot is great, and the staff is wonderful, check them out! This is an upscale Latin inspired coffee shop located within the mall. The coffee options here are extensive and will cater to many taste buds. We went with the traditional cappuccino and we were super delighted! Each cup of coffee also comes with an tiny puffed pastry and that adds to the experience - we felt as if we were in a Vienna coffee shop (with a Latino flavor). The only opportunity is to serve the customers faster as it took forever to get our coffee. Overall, it was great! More...

The 3 star average for this place completely baffles me.We had a perfect brunch here yesterday, with every component of each dish mindfully prepared and delicious:Gruyere and ham scramble:  Flawlessly scrambled eggs, with crunchy roasted potatoes and a fluffy handmade English muffin with strawberry jam.Huevos rancheros with avocado and bacon:  I got mine with no potatoes and extra beans (which I regretted after a bote of Jamie's potatoes).  The eggs were perfectly executed over easy, the corn tortillas were lightly toasted and soaked up my egg and bean goo flawlessly, and the bacon added the important crunch factor to the dish.We had to wait about 20 minutes about lunchtime on Saturday to be seated, and had two excellent coffee drinks in the coffee bar waiting area, making the time pass more briskly.  We will be back here soon and often, our new favorite brunch spot in town. Tried the Huevos Finos, basically a Latin eggs Benedict....and it was fantastic. The house made popover was light and perfectly suited for poached eggs...not to mention the brunch potatoes were just the right level of crunchy exterior and creamy middle. **And don't forget the espresso bar, my double shot was tasty. ...So glad I wandered next door to drop off dry cleaning and the opened at that exact moment. This is one of my favorite places to have a good cortadito coffee. They have the best desserts in the DFW area. Their prices are high but it's well worth it. They have great entrees. We ordered their lomito cubano. This dish is always on point. The pork is cooked to perfection. The rice and beans are well seasoned and they taste good. The dish also comes with fried plantains and yuca which are one of my favorite things to eat. I can never go wrong with this dish which is the reason I always order it. I have had their sandwiches they are full of flavor. The best sandwiches are definitely here. The bread is fresh and delicious. Their Argentinian empanadas are amazing full of taste. We ordered the ground beef and the empanada was flakey and so tasteful. We also ordered La Duni cocktail. It had passion fruit in. It was more like a smoothie but it exploded in flavor. I didn't taste a lot of the alcohol which was fine. I will definitely order it again specially during the summer. We also had their 4 leches cake. It is the best cake in the DFW area. It's very moist and full of flavor. Everything tasted fresh and made it order which I understand why the high prices. We will be definitely coming back. More...

I came for a post-workout brunch with a friend! Parking is tricky but I think most people park across the street in the Crate and Barrel lot. We came in around 11:45 and there was a very short wait. We sat down and ordered a carafe or rose and passion fruit juice for $16! The glasses are tiny, but the carafe gave our about five half-glass pours. Very delicious! My friend ordered the breakfast bowl with flour tortillas, which she said was delicious and very filling. It was a huge portion and she ended up taking some home. I ordered the brunch Chile relleno without the cheese sauce or quest fresco. Side note: some of their salsas have cream in them so if you have a dairy allergy make sure you say something! It was delicious and the perfect amount of food. The roasted potatoes were a star though, perfectly flavored and crispy. We also split a side of roasted plantains, which was an excellent appetizer. Highly recommend you try them! Our waiter was very attentive at first, but a large party came in just as we were ready for a check, which unfortunately added another thirty minutes into our brunch as we waited for the check despite asking for it a few times. Eventually the manager came by after seeing us staring pointedly at our waiter and took care of us. Still a great experience! More...

We called for reservations and the host indicated all he had was outside seating. We had two children so we suggested we would go elsewhere and canceled our request but he immediately said "ok, inside". Really? When we arrived in one hour, no one was outside. Our first impression was very poor. His attitude did not improve. Once seated, the waiter was very good and brought excellent mojitos and margaritas. We had flautas, enchiladas, and steak. Every item, except the queso was very good. The queso had a very strong cheese and was colored green by some ingredient that made it unappealing. Great cocktails, wait service, and chips with salsa. Came in for dinner with her friend. She said it was one of her favorite places in metroplex to eat and I can see why. We started with home made chips and salsa. The chips weren't overly salty and not greasy which I was impressed with. The salsa was the perfect mix of spice and flavor and heat. So so good! To eat I got the carne asada. The meat was cooked perfect for my temperature. It was juicy and well seasoned. The rice served with it was flavorful. And the peppers on the side were mixed in cheese are something and was to die for on top of the steak. The entree also came with a small side of guacamole - under seasoned to me - and some kinda sauce you could put in the steak. I thought the carna asada was better without. My friend got her usual. A fish dish which she absolutely loved.  We ended with quatro leches which i didn't really like. The cake was a bit too dry and when dipped in some of the leches it didn't have a ton of flavor to me. The meringue on top was also a tad flavorless. But the cocktail I got with dinner was amazing. I think it was called a copina or something like that. I will totally return but maybe skip dessert! I thoroughly enjoy this La Duni's stylish decor and trendy setting. Cozy it is to sit inside the restaurant, lively it is during happy hours at the bar, and lovely it is on beautiful days to sit out on their patio.  There are really three things that I come back for over and over again.  They are their:  1) Intoxicating "Mojitos"; 2) Amazing "Brazilian Pulled Roasted Chicken Salad" with Creamy Lime Dressing; and, 3) Extraordinary "Cuatro Leche Cake" along with of course a cup of their strong coffee or one of their delicious coffee drink to go along with the cake.I love all that I've just mentioned, but depending on the server of the day, I have encountered excellent, subpar, to unfortunately once in awhile snippy services at this location. Patio is perfect in the Fall but I'm usually inside. My favorites is alot of different things. The wait can be long because their always busy. But to start it off Chips and hot sauce are so addictive. Ice with the crush ice is to die for. Queso Verde is good. But my entire is the Steak with black beans and white rice. That's what I get all the time since they have open years ago. More...

We have eaten at all the different locations ( oak lawn, mckinney, northpark) for many, many years. I think the food is excellent. I TRULY wish the service was better...it is SO hit or miss. Recently, the McKinney location has been so empty at dinnertime when all the restaurants nearby are PACKED. It's such a shame that they don't have better service. More...

Cute place that I never knew existed. I met a group of friends for Sunday brunch. The place was packed but we had a reserved room in the back of the restaurant. Delicious Brunch!  Came here today with family friend for the first time & definitely a good way to start the day!  Know in advance parking in this area is small & limited so definitely good to come early & parking will likely be easier to park with smaller vehicle. We were immediately greeted as soon as we walked in & got seated before taking our drink order.  Staff was friendly throughout our visit.Coffee lovers, this spot has a nice menu selection for everyone.  The vibe was nice with upbeat music that kept turning up energy as we placed our order.  I got the Chilaquiles with chicken & eggs, portions were large & fulfilling. There are a lot more options to choose from in menu but I was just too full to get anything else this morning.   Good spot to come with friends & family to eat, hang out & have a relaxing good time. One of my managers brought me here, and as a first timer, I was so excited by all the variety of desserts they had, that I didn't know which to choose! Everything sounded amazing and looked amazing! The enchiladas I had were outstanding and so was the dessert I ordered which came with warm chocolate cake and yummy icecream and was drizzled with warm chocolate and caramel topped with pecans! So amazing!! I will definitely be back here. The only reason I am giving four stars is because we were here on our lunch break and our server seemed to forget about us, which made us over 30 mins late getting back to work. More...

I always forget about La Duni, until someone invites me here and reminds me of how great it is. My most recent experience here was for Sunday Brunch. The restaurant wasn't full but we waited about a half hour for a table. Perhaps they were understaffed. Still... the food was absolutely worth the wait. From spicy heat-packing bloody marys to their delectable sandwiches and soups and salads, their  robust menu is full of indulgent selections. I opted for the salad trio, as I'm trying to be a tad more health conscious, and I still felt full and satisfied. Made with a mixed salad, rice, shrimp, and veggies... it was portioned and seasoned perfectly. To finish it off, our table shared a quatro leches slice. Just one bite was decadent enough for my sugar craving to be met. The service was pleasant and helpful, but we did notice that it was pretty slow at times. More...

A cafe haven stocked with wonderful pastries and bread. The scenery is quite lovely. Casual yet elegant. European in feel but with a twist. The outside patio is quite gorgeous with the foliage surrounding the area.   The guava and cheese pastry is phenomenal. They feel so fancy and exquisite. Especially the sugar crusted outside. The guava and cheese were the right combination of creamy and fruity. The plantains were good, but they could have been a bit gooier for my taste. They were a few pieces that had that lovely charred edge.  The cubano was stellar. The bread was the highlight of that sandwich. It had a crisp outside, with a soft, yet firm chew on the outside. The butter they added was just the right amount on the outside. The meat and cheese were good quality, and still stood out independently of each other. I love that they add red peppers to it. For its price, it as a decent amount that left me satisfied but not bloated.  I didnt drink the coffee but I as told it was exquisite espresso. I definitely want to go back. More...

So juicy, so good.  Hot tip: I always sub sweet potato fries.-Delicious Rice "Salad".  This thing has avocados, basmati rice, and a pick-your-own protein.  If you saw a picture of it, salad would not be the first name in mind.  Its a nice balance of "yo I am trying to be healthy" and "don't worry, today is a cheat day". My fiance and I came to La Duni today for a quick snack before going to the theater in North Park. We've been there a few times before and always enjoy it. We've only been to their restaurant portion once, but I remember the food being excellent. We usually go to the cafe and get drinks. Today, I got their French Hot Chocolate, my fiance got an Iced Cappuccino, and we split a chocolate cupcake. It was all amazing, as usual! Their French hot chocolate is so flavorful, but not too sweet. The cappuccino has a very strong espresso flavor, which my fiance loves. And the chocolate cupcake was incredible! They also had a little pop up booth just outside of their cafe promoting a new product of theirs (cakes in a jar). It is such a great concept! I have always loved this place.  I lived in Dallas 10 years ago and this used to be my go to place. I'm back after a 6 year hiatus. Let me tell you,  the food is as good as I remembered. They have since remodeled the inside and added a patio which is lovely. I  terms of food: for appetizers,  you can't go wrong with the guacamole and chips.  But,  what I HIGHLY recommend is the Platon Campero. Prepare yourself for a starchy root heaven.  It will include sweet plantains, queso fresco, patacones, Columbian cheese empanada, yucca fries (which freaking rock), cheese arepitas, duni onions and salsa. In terms of sandwiches I highly recommend the gaucho chicken sandwich and again,  get the Yucca fries. If you're in a salad mood, checkout the pollo asado a la menta - limon. The street tacos are also a great choice. For dessert,  you can't go wrong.  Get a gym membership to go,  so you can run all the calories off. Enjoy, friends!!!! More...

Couldn't have asked for a better dining experience! I've heard good things about this restaurant and had the opportunity to go to the one in North Park after doing some shopping. Our waiter promptly brought us our drinks and their award-winning chips and fresh salsa. They're so generous! We got three baskets of chips for 7 people and enough salsa for everyone to have their own container. The chips and salsa were phenomenal! The chips were light and crunchy - not too plain nor salty. The salsa had small chunks of tomato and just the right amount of kick to it. I wish I had the recipe - it was SO GOOD. We got seconds on the chips and salsa while waiting for our meals to arrive. They had a bunch of international options: sandwiches and entrees. I decided on the Molletes - Latin Toast which is a toasted French baguette topped with refried black beans, a four cheese mix, and your choice of meat (chicken, crispy pork, or steak) with yucca fries as my side. My mollete was perfectly toasted and every crunch brought so much joy to my mouth and stomach. The combination of refried beans, cheeses, and chicken was delicious, and it felt like I was eating an entree in sandwich form. The yucca fries were lightly seasonally with lime and were even better with the olive oil provided to dip them in. Leave room for dessert! A must here at La Duni. They have an extensive dessert menu and everything looks yummy. I got a 4 Leches ala Baked Alaska and enjoyed watching them flame the Kahlua vodka mix before pouring it on the cake + vanilla bean ice cream. The ambiance of this place was perfect as well and was the cherry on top of great food. It's nice but still casual. Intimate for dates yet still wonderful for a gathering with family and friends. Interestingly, the restrooms have mouthwash. However, the blue bottle is not labeled so don't get it confused (like my friend did) with the creamy white soap. Summary: food 5/5, ambiance 5/5, service 4.5/5. More...

For years, La Duni Latin Café has had a great place in my heart.  I've had many brunches here with family and friends, and I've always left happy and pleased.  The restaurant is on the smaller side and it can get tough with waiting for a table on days when they are busy, so I don't frequent it as often as I'd like due to them not taking reservations.  But, I definitely would recommend anyone to try it because the food is phenomenal and the menu has something for everyone. The atmosphere is laid back, with a lot of charm and class.  It's a nice spot for a group of girlfriends or for a date.My favorite item on the brunch menu is the French Scrambled Eggs entrée.  The entrée comes with creamy scrambled eggs, a moist English Muffin, and Roasted Potatoes.  To add to the delicious meal is a side of Jam and Hollandaise, both of which are amazing. This entrée comes with Ham; however, I normally swap the ham out for spinach.  The only bad thing is that they upcharge me for the swap.Overall, the restaurant is legit and now that I'm writing this review, I'm going to make plans to revisit my old fave. There's not many Latin restaurants that I know of, but La Duni's is a great place to eat. It's a friendly atmosphere that is typical for adults of all ages, and even a few families. There is a full bar if you decide you are in a mood for a mojito with some chips. If you are getting anything outside of a sandwich or a salad for an entree. The wait can get pretty lengthy on Sundays so just beware if you are extremely hungry. More...

I love this place. If my friends can't meet me for brunch I still call in and get brunch to go every Sunday. I always, always order the Huevos Finos to go and sometimes grab a #19 coffee to go. Soooooo good. You can't go wrong.Their tres leches cake/cupcake is amazing if you're in the mood for a sweet treat. The empanadas and the queso verde are amazing.Every time I have brunch there with my friends we always start out our date by ordering the La Duni passion! It's amazing. I've never tried anything from this place that I didn't like.I also ordered the Tres Leches cake from here on year for my boyfriends birthday and he LOVED it. I've noticed some have commented on how it's a little pricey but I totally believe you get what you pay for, especially in this case. More...

Go. Go. Go. A fun place bursting with flavors. You can spend 30 minutes on the drink menu made with fresh juices. Empanadas are fantastic as is the steak with chimicurri. A neat side is grilled Serrano served with cilantro and lime. Not for the faint of heart. Plan on dessert and plan to be sick. I've been to this location a few times so this review is going to be a summary of all visits. Don't know why I hadn't tried this place earlier than I did but glad I did. I've come here both when the mall is like a circus and on a much quieter weekday and I think I prefer the latter.I don't really think I'm a salad person but my, the rice salad (I usually get mine w/chicken) is amazing! I want to shake the hand of the person who thought to put plantain & rice in a salad, can I say genius? I also did deviate once and ordered the Cubano, it was good but the rice salad keeps calling me back. Drinks- I tried one of their cappuccinos once and it was too strong for me, especially since I'm not much of a coffee drinker so I'll stick to the tea. On one of my other visits, the waiter suggested the hot chocolate that was apparently made of some fancy real chocolate. I don't really like chocolate, but it's definitely something that a chocolate lover would enjoy. Dessert - if you're going to eat here you've probably heard of their famous Cuatro Leches cake if not, you'll probably see the posters about it on the restaurant wall. Tres Leches (or however many Leches) is my favorite cake so I was excited to try this. I have to say it was very "rich" but there was one time I got it and something was a little off about it. Is it good? Yes. I wouldn't say it's the best tres Leches cake I've eaten...just yet. More...

Met with friends for Brunch on Saturday. North park is always busy, but for some reason I enjoy going there with the crowds. Nothing like enjoying insanity with a few thousand other people. Ordered Sangrias and frozen limonadas. Both had just the right flavors without being too sweet. Chips and salsa started the meal. My friend had the breakfast tacos and really enjoyed the side of beans. She commented on their flavor which peaked my interest for a suggestion on the next visit. Next was the carne asade sandwich. Bread was light and meat was savory. The sweet potato fries were not too sweet and not greasy as experienced in other places. My sandwich was the chicken bacon avocado. Tender chicken with bacon slices dressed with a lettuce blend, tomatoes. Fries were dusted with garlic and sea salt (I think). Really enjoyed them (or I appreciating them after a week of no fried foods).  Enjoyed the meals. Next visit will be a focus on the bakery items and coffee or hot chocolate drinks. I know extra exercise will be in my future but it will be so worth it. This is a five - Can't find anything to take away. More...

What a charming brunch place. Visited La Duni during a quick visit to Dallas recently, and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. The food is, as the name of the restaurant suggests, imbued with certain Latin flare, but with some French-bistro-brunch touches. We began with the Guava roll which was quite excellent. Like a cinnamon roll mixed with a cupcake, coated in a guava syrup. The many layers were delicious, and it was rich and satisfying without going too much into heaviness. The brunch options are varying degrees of scrambled egg with meat and veggies, but it is done well so the limited offerings get a pass. I only wish the tortillas were handmade or fresher than they were. Still, I scarfed my whole plate of sausage and eggs, and the haystack potatoes were well-seasoned and super-crisp. The service was very friendly when present, but too often a server would disappear for a long time, and it seemed like the servers don't bother helping each other out with the tables. An extra busser/water filler would do wonders here. The crowd is super yuppie, and expect lots of children and babies during brunch. But with all that said, I came away with a positive impression, and I'd definitely go back. More...

If you're thinking you're coming here for Mexican food with some chips and salsa, you are definitely on the wrong train of thought here. Think Latin American cuisine, dressed with plantains, a light and fluffy rice, and a rich black bean side dish.  From pan seared fishes, to roasted chickens, and even a nice skirt steak, they're menu seems to have quite the assortment to fit everyone's needs. Love this place, over and over again! Brought my parents here for some coffee and dessert and it was wonderful! We ordered the 4 slices for $27 and got a variety (quatro leches, the cinnamon roll, the Nutella, the Venezuelan chocolate) and they were delicious! We also ordered a scoop of strawberry ice cream which was very tasty and very true to the flavor. For coffee we had the white chocolate espresso and a hot chocolate, which were both very rich. Can't wait to come back and try the brunch/dinner menu. I knocked a star off because I called at 845pm to verify what time they close because the Yelp and Google times contradict by 30 minutes and the gentleman on the phone answered with a window of between 9pm and 930pm. I asked for clarification as we were driving from a distance and didn't want to be turned away if they were closed when we arrived. I received a wishy washy answer of in maybe the next 20 minutes. La Duni is a straight shot down from Kona Grill and The Theodore. It has a more of a quaint feel than the other two restaurants if that's your thing. They have a great selection of coffee drinks, and is a definite must if you want to sit and relax after a busy shopping trip. La Duni boasts plenty of latin flare and hospitality which I love. It was a Friday during Lent so I was limited to Duni Caesar with Arepa Crusted Calamari for $13.95. I thought it was a little steep for a SMALL salad that had maybe 6 pieces of calamari. Everything tasted delicious. My friend had the Rice Salad with Chicken which she loved, and is her usual choice. The service was ok. I hate having to wait more than 5 minutes to have my water refilled, especially when they are slow. It was 11 o'clock and the lunch rush had not quite hit. If you work nearby or are looking to pick up food they do online ordering which can be convenient for those who don't want to stick around. I may consider this after a hard day of work when I don't want to be around people. I wouldn't mind eating my feelings away!To be fair I didn't get to try any of the desserts; however, THEY LOOKED DELICIOUS. That's the only reason why I gave them 4 stars instead of 3. I will be back soon to try the sweets and reevaluate La Duni. Until next time :) More...

I didn't expect much when we walked into this place. The wait was about 20 minutes but you don't have to actually wait there - they text you whenever your table is ready! Convenient so I could browse around beforehand.Cappuccino Caramel - so good! They give you a wooden stick to stir your coffee if you wanted but I opted out of it. The cappuccino had enough bitterness from the coffee and milk to make the drink light enough for a midday pick-me-up. The beautiful caramel sauce on top added a hint of sweetness each time I took a sip and had to kick off the caramel from my lips. Each sip was so enjoyable! Definitely will continue to try their espresso bar menu! Huevos Gauchos w/ Chorizo - basic breakfast menu but yet executed so beautifully!! The eggs was complimented by bits of chorizo - I expected more meat but honestly was not disappointed. It added more flavor and depth to the eggs instead of having the chorizo overpower the dish. The crispy potato sticks was SOO GOOD! It made the dish feel very light - the green parsley paste or whatever on top also made the potatoes that much better. The only meh thing was the corn tortilla - just basic, heated corn tortilla from your chain grocery store. This is a chain though so I wouldn't expect anything else. Salsa that came in the small container was also good!Empanada w/ Sausage - oh my god. Flaky goodness. Probably one of the cheapest thing on the menu priced slightly over $5 yet enough to be filling! It comes with a small container of what seemed to look like oil/fat from the dish and is used as dipping sauce. I had an idea of what it was, but it enhanced the sausage's flavors, I couldn't resist having some! Definitely want to try the ground beef version. Venezuelan Triple Chocolate Truffle Cake - the description of this cake had "espresso" in it, and I was terrified - I don't like overly strong coffee flavored desserts. Surprisingly, I never had a moment where I could evidently taste the coffee flavor! Not a problem in my book! The cake was very dense with 2 different icing flavors in between the layers - so unique to try. The whip cream on the side with crumbled toffee bits added extra crunchy texture which I freakin' LOVED. The berry sauce drizzled on the plate can be absent, and I wouldn't even care because I didn't think it complimented well. Will have to go back to try their Cuatro Leches! Overall LOVED my experience @ La Duni's!! Our waiter was very attentive while being attending many tables as it was a full house. Can't really say anything bad about this place. Some of the stuff ordered was basic - yet basic was done in the proper way! More...

Ok, so this is a restaurant you need to go to.  I do not think anything is basic or boring here. We never had much room for dessert, so you may want to share a meal or take 1/2 home so you can split a dessert....they're known for their cakes. The rice salad is amazing, so much so I never order anything else!   The crisp pork (chicken or shrimp also) paired with the slightly sticky crunch of the rice, the cool vinaigretted salad greens, avocados and the yummy roasted plantains make a really nicely balanced meal.Another in our party had the Milanesa de Pollo which is a very delicious version of the universally beloved chicken piccata, chicken Milanese or chicken schnitzel. This place would have received 5 stars if the service was better, I came here on my birthday and our server was very monotone and didn't seem like he wanted to be there, it made things a little awkward throughout the night and the restaurant seemed overcrowded.Besides that the food was very good, I ordered the rice salad and I know that sounds pretty dull but let me tell you, the rice was AMAZING. The rice had just the right mixture of spices and you could taste the lemon in it, I wish I could bring a box of their rice home I loved it that much lol. As for the chicken in my salad it was also cooked real well and the salad also came with avocado (who doesn't love avocado!)We also got a free serving of their chips and salsa and it was also pretty good. I would so be down to come back here for their rice salad, its also one of their more popular dishes too according to our server. Now for my favorite part, dessert! I was so eager to try their cuatros leches cake and it did NOT let down. We got it Ala baked alaska style which means that we got a scoop of vanilla ice cream with it and it was lit on fire at our table, it was so pretty. The cake itself was so moist and sweet, I could taste the difference between this and a traditional tres leches cake. The ice cream that came along with it was also amazing, it had chunks of walnuts in it I believe and it added a nice texture to it overall, I would die for a whole cake of this and a jar of their ice cream. This place didn't let down at all in terms of their food but I just wish that their service was a little better and took out some seating to make you feel like crowded in there. I would probably try going to their different location next time to see if it isn't as crowded as this place was. Hopefully a better server too! More...

I came here on a busy Sunday morning for brunch with a friend.  I had always wanted to try this place, but I had never gotten around to it.  I am glad I got to visit this time!I was impressed by the cheery yellow of the interior and bistro-like style of the sitting areas.  The windows of the restaurant look onto part of the indoor courtyard of Northpark mall, and the sun streaming in made for a great atmosphere.I really enjoyed my brunch! I was pleasantly surprised by the flavorful and crispy breakfast potatoes, as my experience with that particular side dish call to mind mushy, over/under-seasoned chunks of potato.  The scrambled eggs went nicely with the salsa offerings, and I ate the entire dish up.  I had heard that La Duni was famous for both its coffee and pastries, but as I was trying to cut down on caffeine, I did not order from their coffee menu, which had an impressive list of espresso drinks.  I ordered the helping of 2 "conchas".  (Shell in spanish)  They were so cute and straight out of the oven, so biting into these egg bread delicacies topped with crunchy sugar (chocolate flavor is best) was a treat.I will be back! Had a wonderful coffee and cake date here today. Their tres leche cake is to die for (expensive but to die for), and their seasonal holiday espresso drinks come with hefty amounts of booze and overall flavor. Our waiter was wonderfully attentive and kind as we stayed chatting for hours and conducting business. I know this place gets packed for brunch on weekends, but a mid-afternoon during the weekday is a perfect time to enjoy the overall vibe and scenic courtyard view. More...

Came here for brunch before driving to Fort Worth. It's an upbeat place with all sorts of customers, families, friends, dates. I got the huevos gauchos and wow it was great. It's everything I love and it was made well. But my favorite was the mango limeade I got. What a great decision. So refreshing. So citrus. More...

Excellent food, great service.... The ambiance was perfect for lunch with my wife. The price was lower than comparable meals I've had. I had a beef filled empanada with a side salad the meat was well seasoned and the crust light and buttery. The fresh salad with a oil vinaigrette was the perfect contrast of taste. More...

This is my go to place for a consistently delicious dinner on Friday night. Once you're seated, those house made chips and salsa appear on the table. The carne asada,  flautas and the rice salad with crispy pork are tantalizingly well spiced and presented.  And their generous with greens on every plate. Cocktails are different and interesting. And the desserts are well known. More...

I ordered the quinoa salad and chicken mango cilantro sandwich and it was amazing!!! The bread was fresh and I loved the dressing they used. Overall super happy with my pick. Will be back again! (I reserve 5 star ratings for places I have been to more than once so that I can ensure consistency.)the fam went to la duni at northpark for saturday brunch, and we literally licked our plates clean.  yumm-o!!even though it was morning, we were served chips and salsa to start and opted to wash it down with sangria and la duni mimosas (sangria, sparkling wine, oj).  both are highly recommended!  I think I'm going to start making my mimosas at home with sangria; so tasty!  for our main dishes, several of us ordered the huevos finos, and there was literally not a drop of food left on the plates.  the hollandaise was creamy and the potatoes were crispy and seasoned well.  we also decided to indulge and split the rollo de canela y nuez (cinnamon pecan cake) for dessert; I don't even know what to say except that I don't even like pecans, and yet I was fighting my brother over who got the last bite.service was very friendly and knowledgeable, but somewhat slow.  nothing at all to prevent me from returning next time I visit the big d. It has been very difficult to find great Cubano sandwiches in the DFW area and I've decided to make sure to include my experiences and restaurants or cafes that serve them.I recently tried La Duni's Cubano sandwich and will have to say it's my second favorite place for these wonderful, tasty sandwiches. Try them with a side of their "tostones" fried green plantain bananas (not the ripe ones) and their accompanying mojo (garlic sauce recipe) for a fantastic adventure in tasty sandwiches. La Duni's yuca frita fries are wonderful as well. More...

The patio of La Duni at North Park Mall sits in one corner of the interior courtyard of the mall, and it is a nice oasis and escape from the bustle of hopping. The cafe offers modern Americanized latin bistro food, and wonderful atmosphere, potent cocktails, and good service. Classics are the Cuban press and yucca fries. Mojitos can provide a medicinal effect after the cut-and-thrust of retail commerce. Ladies who lunch. Kids running around the plaza. A nice, relatively calm space. Coffee Studio is usually SLOW, but often worth the wait. Pastries and cakes are phenomenal. More...

As far as prices go, it's a little on the high end. However, the food is really prepared well. La Duni has several other locations, but this one is their home base and has also the most varied menu options compared with the others, especially since it's the only location in the chain that puts more emphasis on South American offerings such as Colombian empanadas, Venezuelan arepas, and Brazilian coxinhas. These are offered during lunch, and were a good price since they were quite filling, even though they're in the appetizer menu. And can you imagine what I ate? Yup... all of those three! And I have no complaints about any of them even though these items were made with a twist, except for the Colombian empanadas which I thought was spot on and can even rival Zaguan's empanadas (in both taste and price). The Venezuelan chicken and avocado arepa was made Mexican style - with the shredded chickens stewed in tomato broth. This was new to me, and untraditional - but I took a bite, and it seems to work well. The Brazilian coxinhas, or chicken pastries, were more like mini croquettes - and while they look nothing like the traditional coxinhas, they were very tasty, and I could taste the similarities.Would I order these again? Probably yes. Can't wait to return to try more of other things. But just this location. And if they are able to lower the price for some things, and make South American offerings available at its other locations, I probably would frequent this place much more often.NOTE: Their coffee menu is also very impressive. I wouldn't mind returning for the coffee as well. More...

I've had a fantastic meal every time I've come here. I love the Cuban sandwich with yucca fries. I could eat that everyday. The chips and salsa they give you is some of the best in Dallas. I had been here before with some friends. I don't remember what I ate then--probably some brunch dish as they are known for their brunch menu. I don't quite remember the food though. Today, I came to the mall on business and decided to have lunch here. As I didn't have friends recommending what to get,  I quickly skimmed Yelp reviews and ordered their trio salad with crispy pork. My oh my! When I took a bite of the rice salad with crispy pork, I fell in love. I am not quite a foodie to be able to describe the flavors, but the crispy pork, cilantro rice, and fried plantains created a great marriage of flavors.  The salads on either side complimented the rice salad so well as the rice salad alone would have been too heavy. I enjoyed every bite of the trio salad. I also had a cup of Euro-coffee and quite enjoyed it. It was not bitter, but smooth and rich. I shall be back here again! More...

A good friend brought me here the other day. We were on a mission to do some day drinking.  Finally found La Duni tucked away in a small parking lot. We showed up right before the dinner rush, so the service was attentive and pleasant. I like booths because of the intimacy and elevated comfort level. Unfortunately, we barely got through our drink orders before we were attacked by a swarm of gnats... relentless and annoying gnats. They seemed to be more prominent in the booths, although after we moved clear across the restaurant, we saw a few more at the table. Honestly, I was just surprised none of them ended up stuck in our queso. The queso is green. I'm not afraid of a little color, but I admit it was odd. They graciously explain the reason for this and made it sound even more delicious in the process. (roasted poblanos blended in the mix) You can get it mild or spicy. (Spicy, duh.)We ordered two specialty sandwiches and split each half. The gaucho chicken breast is refreshing, light, and delicious. The rajas con queso y carne asada apparently caused me to reveal my "oh face" according to my dork of a friend. It's like the mexican version of a philly cheesesteak, and it is even more flavorful. I was going to go with wheat or gluten free bread but our waitress (& I'm kicking myself for not remembering her name) ranted and raved about the pan de yema bread. It was like Hawaiian rolls on steroids. Sweet, fluffy, and absolutely could be eaten on its own. I'm a strong believer in happy hours, and I give even more kudos for reverse happy hour! Most of the drinks looked great. I stuck with the mojitos. They gifted me with the most decent buzz. The waitress forgot to remind us happy hour was ending due to our incessant gabbing. About 5 minutes after it ended, we playfully gave her a hard time, but she went out of her way to run an exception by the manager. Excellent customer service. We're going back. And I WILL get her name this time! More...

Good food, service and location. Everyone is so helpful and kind. Salsas & chips and green queso excellent. Guacamole average. I had vegetarian enchiladas, good flavor but veggies could be smaller and more cooked. Or more like spinach type to keep the enchiladas feeling like enchiladas. Rice and beans normal. Tasted and looked like can beans, nothing special. Had Nutella cake for dessert, too sweet and portions too big. Prefer smaller, less guilty portions, and more decorated, so it doesn't feel like I cut a piece of cake at home. Drinks are good. Overall positive experience. More...

This is so far my favorite go-to brunch spot. The NorthPark location is pretty nice though I have also frequented the Fairview location since it's closer to me and it is larger than the NP location. Their eggs and roasted potatoes are so yummy and I always get their coffee/espressos which wake me right up before I go into a food coma. Haha. My suggestions are the Vaca Blanca and Cappuchino Caramel. Their steak and eggs and Latin French Toast is to die for. You will be full for the rest of the day! Love love the mojitos here! One of the best I've ever had. $6 during happy hour makes it that much more tastier! The regular mojito, berry mojito and mango mojito are all delicious.  I went to Miami last month and their mojitos doesn't come close to La Duni's mojito!  They use fresh mint and cane sugar in their mojitos, which I think are key ingredients in a mojito. We like to enjoy our mojitos on their outdoor patio while we watch the kids run around in the courtyard.  While sipping on their mojitos, we like to munch on some verde queso, although it's a little pricey, $12 for a large bowl, but it's more like a small bowl. I've visited La Duni 3-4 times by now, so what's stopped me from writing a review?I must admit that I've had the same exact meal every single visit, but it's SO good, so I guess I don't want to risk trying something new? Sue me. With a caramel cappuccino to start, I always enjoy the huevos rancheros for brunch. I'm kind of a wimp when it comes to spicy food, so this meal, with some amazing potato wedges on the side, kick me in the ass a little bit...but it's worth it.Also, if you visit on Sunday, your hot beverage comes with a tiny (but amazing) cookie. I've tried to request one on a Saturday, and even when I offered to pay, they said they were not available on any days except Sunday. Oh well.My favorite waitress is a girl with braces, who looks about 15. She literally has the best customer service I've seen at a restaurant. My family and I came here on a friend's recommendation for really good pisco sours and caipirinhas. We ended up getting snacks and hanging out before dinner but this was completely worth it. Daniel was an amazing bartender and took care of us the whole time. Pisco sour: I've never been to Peru but those in the group who did go started this is the closest you can get to an amazing pisco sour here. What I do know, is that it was very tasty! Slightly frothy and creamy with a light citrus to it.  Delicious! Caipirinha: As tasty as the the pisco sour! Really enjoyable from the line to the slight sweetness. Empanadas: Really good from the crispy flakey crust, tender juicy and well seasoned beef, and minced carrots. The orange sauce that came with the beef empanadas had a tangy savory flavor to it. The sausage olive oil with cilantro and other bits was tasty as well. Salsa had a great chipotle flavor to it. Choriqueso: This queso is addiction. Melty goodness with bits of sausage, roasted bell peppers, and herbs...   Drool. This disappeared so fast! Guacamole and chips: Nice green avocados, lime juice, diced cilantro, onions, serranos, cucumber, and tomato.  It was as good as you would expect from a restaurant.  Overall this was a wonderful place to hangout and have snacks.  I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area for amazing drinks, great service, and tasty food.
