What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
From a commercial standpoint, knowing exactly what your client is looking for and being 100% confident that your vision will give them what they need. Communication between the client and photographer is paramount. It creates a stronger working relationship which in turn, only enhances the final product.
From a personal standpoint, knowing when to click the shutter about a nanosecond before you think you have your shot. Photography has as much to do with how you think and feel as it does with how you see.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I am always interested in the client's background first. I like to know the history of the company and what their goal is for their consumers. This enhances how I might approach my assignment.
For portrait clients, it is important to get to know them just a bit before I start shooting. It is very important to put my subjects at ease before I start photographing them.
What do you love most about your job?
The people I meet. This type of work has allowed me to travel and meet people from all different backgrounds. I have made lifelong friends because of the work I do.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My parents, who are both artists and gallery owners. I also have two children and photography allowed me to be home with them when they were very young.
Why should our clients choose you?
I hope my work speaks for itself but I am very easy to work with and I will always go the extra mile for a client.
