Q&As

I love my work because I have the privilege of rekindling relationships and putting a spark - and eventually the whole damn fire - back into those relationships plagued by some of life's greatest challenges. I meet with people at points in their life where their identity - who they are or who they want to be - is changing and they want to be sure that change happens for the better!

I’ve always wanted to help people; I just didn’t realize counseling was the way I’d end up doing it. Truth be told, I grew up expecting to help people save money as an accountant, but along the way I realized I’m much better at helping people understand their relationships than I am at helping them understand their taxes – thank goodness for that!

While pursuing my undergraduate degree in psychology at Baylor University, I very quickly began to appreciate and develop my passion for pursuing a career in mental health counseling. Working with emotionally and behaviorally disturbed adolescents at the Waco Center for Youth in my last two years of study at Baylor further convinced me that I had found my career path. During my graduate studies at St. Edward’s University, I began working with adults struggling with mental illness at Austin State Hospital. After finishing my Master’s Degree in Counseling, I opened up this private practice with the intention of assisting couples and families through their struggles and challenges.

There are hundreds of therapists in the Austin area but only a few that you're going to click with. Effective therapy requires a great clinician but an even better connection between the client and the therapist. You should choose the one that best suits your needs and the one that you feel comfortable with. My specialty is working with couples dealing with either infidelity and/or addiction. As far as knowing if you feel comfortable with me, I offer a free 15 minute consultation over the phone or a free 30-minute consultation in person.

Services

If you're wanting to enhance your passion and love, give it one last go before discussing divorce, or simply regain peace and connection in your relationship, then this is the counseling for you.

During our time together, I will help you and your partner develop (or strengthen) the skills you need to identify and successfully communicate your needs, as individuals and as a couple unit.

Sometimes one person just isn't enough. They say two brains are better than one to solve a problem, so why not add a few more to really get the ball rolling!

In group therapy you and up to five others will meet once a week to learn how to overcome the common challenges that you each face.
