I’ve known Karen for many years now and I have seen the beautiful work that she does. She is the “BEST” at what she does! Her Wedding Cakes are exquisite in beauty and taste ! So... Already knowing this and knowing how kind & caring that Karen and her husband both are - there was no question as to who would be making our daughter and new son-in-laws wedding cake! They picked out what they wanted and the day of their wedding she brought in her “masterpiece” which was simply gorgeous and as equally delicious. We had sooo many compliments on how beautiful it was and how wonderful it tasted. We could not have been more pleased with how it turned out! I commend them on a job well done and I Highly Recommend “Karen’s Cakes” to anyone who is searching for a fabulous wedding cake to help make their Special Day even more Special! We had the best wedding cake! We asked for a three tier, each tier a different flavor and it was delicious! Our wedding guests really loved it because there was hardly any left for us to take home! Highly recommend the brownie with cheesecake and the strawberry with cheesecake. The only downside for us was the wood base that came with the cake, which has to be delivered back to Karen's Cafe after the wedding, we work an hour away from Statesville and don't get off till 5, so it's really hard to get there during her open hours without having to ask off from work. I had Karen make my daughter a "sailor moon" birthday cake. Karen did such an awesome job decorating her cake. We were so pleased. I ordered a butter cream cake with butter cream icing. I would just like to let "everyone" know that... you will definitely NOT be sorry for hiring "Karen" @ "Karen's Cakes" to make "ANY type" of "decorated cake" for whatever special occasion you may be needing one for! And when I say "any" - I DO mean "ANY" because... Karen is very talented at what she does and I honestly do not think there is "anything" that she can not make when it comes to "cake decorating"! I KNOW there is definitely not anything that she will not "TRY"!! I can not tell you "how many" cakes that I have gotten from Karen's Cakes over the past 30 years, however I can tell you that every one of them has absolutely been "over-the-top" in "looks" and "taste"!! She truly has a God given talent in this field and has blessed so many people over the years with her beautiful art work in cake decorating!!! Karen goes "WELL above" and "WAY beyond" her call of duty to try and please her customers and she takes "great pride" in her upstanding and long established business!! And again, as I stated at the beginning of my review... you will definitely NOT be sorry for "hiring" or "choosing" Karen @ Karen's Cakes to do your special cake for that special occasion!!!
