Kapakahi Grindz

Loved the Kalua pig nachos!  Pretty good pricing too for a food truck too.  Real kind staff and they were quick to make my order despite a really big and rowdy line.

Are you kidding me?! THIS PLACE IS SOOOOOO GOOD. I've tried basically everything on the menu over the past few months! Chan and Char are super friendly and do an incredible job! Food is at a reasonable price for the amount of food they give!A lot of the times they're at a park in Whitmore (the park at the end on the right) sometimes they do other events.  They don't open everyday so best way to stay up to date is to follow their Instagram @kapakahigrindz I'll keep coming back for sure. I had the Ahi tempura roll and that was an awesome deal of a meal the fish was fresh and enjoyed every bite of it along with that special sauce. ...I recommend their foods.... I'm thinking that they will be my next caterers for any future event. Right on Chan and Char More...

This is the second time I've eaten food from Kapakahi Grindz and each time thus far the food has been oNo!! I follow them on Facebook and Instagram and check their menu daily. I've had their pasteles this time around and they were so meaty and delicious and also very nicely proportioned. I ate five pasteles in one day, that's how good they taste, not kidding. Their prices are very reasonable as well. On top of all that, when their way is open, they make it a point to bring their onolicious food to wherever you are. They are very friendly and not only portray aloha through themselves but also their food. I will definitely be eating from Kapakahi Grindz as often as I can. We had the poke fries (best eaten right away to get the full awesomeness of it) which was incredible.  Fresh fish Covered in awesomesauce and crispy fries. Took home one hawaiian plate, 2 ahi & crabmeat roll (forget the official name) and smoke meat (some are specialty items so check for availability). So the poke fries is the perfect combo of sweet spicy ahi piled on crispy fries. This bad boy didn't even make it to the car. The Hawaiian plate was choke Kalua pig, 2 medium lau lau, 2 scoop rice, lomi salmon and poi. I don't eat lomi salmon or poi  (I know right... lose all credibility now) but everything else was banging. Just the right amount of salty. The ahi crab roll is in a Nori wrapper breaded and deep fried. OMFG!  OK full disclosure I ate this when I got home(90 min after purchase)  so it lost its crunch but with the sauce it was unreal. Next time I'm eating it ASAP because I know it will be even more amazing. Again 2 scoops rice n Mac salad so you will be full after this plate.  Now the smoke meat was good but I'm used to a lil more Smoke but that's just me. Everyone else loved it.  I also had the pleasure of trying , on another occasion, the pastele nacho salad. Which is just pastele nachos...on salad but it was also very good. Kapakahi catering?! WHAAAA! I needed food to help feed the staff for a retreat I was having. Can i just say DEALS!!!! The food was awesome and on top of that they delivered to me! I just needed some food to help feed the kids in the morning and so I asked them for some Gandule rice, eggs, and some smoke meat. The crew gave us a great price and even threw in some pastele stew and fried noodles! Buuuurrahhh!!! Anyways we got the food nice and hot. And once I set up the food line my staff devoured their food! And continued eating it throughout the day despite them being fed from the site for lunch and dinner. I ordered food for around 15 people and got food for maybe like 20. Considering I had 6 football players it was a good extra amount to have lol. Definitely go to these guys for your catering needs they make pretty much anything you request at an awesome price! This food truck is just downright amazing! Everything made here is gold and heaven in your mouth. If you're being indecisive, just randomly pick something! You can't go wrong with anything you pick. I've personally tried almost everything...the pastele, pastele stew, pastele nachos, tripe stew, stew luau, New York steak, poke nachos, pastele fries, and the smoked meat. None of them failed to make my taste buds sing! If you don't live anywhere close, it's definitely worth the drive. I also almost forgot to mention that the portion sizes are great for the price of the plate. Talk about LOADED!! Also, don't waste any time... They accept both cash AND card. Their service should be rated 10 stars. I witnessed someone put in a phone order, but when they arrived, they made it fresh (only because it was fries) so that they don't get it soggy. And before I forget to mention- the workers always have genuine smiles on and it shows that they love what they do. The food is made with love... I absolutely love Kapakahi Grindz! They have a very diverse and innovative menu while keeping their best sellers and local favorites available. My favorites are the Pasteles, Poke Fries and Smoked Meat which makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Mmmmm so ONO!!!! But most of my friends really like the Ahi Katsu, New York Steak, and the Original Pastele Nachos. The price for the amount of food I get is a great deal and the service is on point as it's a family run organization. If you haven't tried it yet... you gotta! Follow them on Instagram cuz that's where the Chef updates followers on the menu and hours of operation. And make sure you tip them for their good looks. When coming into whitmore only place to eat was always manapua man and merlina kitchen. But, now local food truck kapakahi grindz hands down is a must when it's open. Variety of different culture food and it never disappoints me. The owner is cool as shit and hook your plate up. Worth the drive and the prices ain't bad at all.
