About

To me, art is as essential to me as breathing and I work hard to make that apparent in all my projects. I take the time to get to know my clients and their businesses so that we are always on the same page in terms of design and communication.

Q&As

I live by the 'Rule of Thirds' to set up a fantastic, dynamic photograph but rules can be broken if you see the opportunity for a great, unorthodox composition!

The stereotypical who, what, when, where, why, how as needed.

WHO: Who is it for? My client or someone my client is working for? Or is it a personal project that is for a loved one of said client?

WHAT: What is the purpose of the project? What medium is suitable or desired for the project? What is the desired result for the project? What does the client require? What is the client's timeline for the project?

WHEN: When does the client need for the project to be completed and/or delivered?

WHERE: (If an installation project) Where does the artwork need to be installed? (Or if the artwork needs to be sent via mail or delivered to a residence or place of business) Where does the client need the artwork to be sent and/or delivered?

HOW: How much is the client's budget?

1. Discuss the project with my client and get a feel for what is required for the project. I begin to formulate ideas as I am speaking with my client and align my brainstorming with my client's vision as well as other options that explore and deviate slightly from what a client wants. I love to give my client options that remain true to what they envision while also offering ideas and designs that they may like more and serve their purposes better than what was previously discussed.

2. Art concepts and sketches are created from what the subjects and design ideas my client and I chatted about. This is the first round of concept sketches. Ideas evolve and after my client sees the sketches new ideas can be formed and old ideas transformed. One of the things I love best about art: original ideas can morph and evolve into even better ideas and designs!

3. After adjusting the concept art, the client and I discuss which designs are best for their vision. Ultimately, the client chooses which design concept speaks to them and/or matches up to the expectations/vision they had in their mind's eye for their project.

4. I begin designing/illustrating/photographing/editing the agreed upon concept art for my client's project. I allow three free adjustments to the design/artwork before I begin charging for additional adjustments.

5. The project is complete! If my client is still not satisfied with the final result of the project, I will continue to work on it until my client is entirely happy with the result. The quality of my designs and the satisfaction of my client are of the utmost importance to me!

Is it wrong to say 'everything'? : ) Art is my lifeblood and I can't image living in a world where I couldn't sketch, paint, shoot photographs, edit films, restore old, damaged photographs, and so much more!

I love the freelancing lifestyle! I get to set my own hours, my salary, decide which projects and clients I work with and have a great work-life balance. Best of all, I get to do what I love: ART!
