I recently moved from California to Lake Oswego. My idea was to bring some of my old furniture, but I was not sure how it would fit into my new home. Julia listened to my vision and came up with innovative, creative ideas. I contracted with Julia to design an ADU in the basement of a renovation home my son and I purchased in the St Johns neighborhood of Portland. In addition to the ADU, we updated the floor plan of the existing home.

Julia is easy to work with and has fantastic ideas. Although she can be a bit temperamental (all truly good designers are), she listened to all of our ideas and incorporated them when they made sense. She has an imaginative flair but is sensitive to budget. Julia is always available through text or email and has excellent communication skills, she will answer the phone or will quickly respond to your inquiries. A true professional.

Julia provided design and CAD services for our kitchen remodel. We had a fairly complex project, and she was terrific at helping us achieve it-- we wanted to save most of the original walnut cabinetry in our 1963 while building a pantry and cabinets into the breakfast nook, and opening up the kitchen to the dining room to put in an island. To make things even more complex, we are doing this in two stages. Julia helped us figure out how to make the new cabinetry compliment the old cabinets and how to unify the kitchen's design, and she created a plan for functional built-ins for the breakfast nook. She made the kitchen's design user-friendly for a big family that likes to cook. Her work was professional and timely. We will definitely be hiring her again when we redo our bathroom. We recently worked with Julia on a remodel and update of our master bathroom. We wanted to enlarge the shower, replace our spa with a more accessible soaking tub, replace the toilet, add cabinets, and update the floor tiling. Julia took our ideas and transformed them into detailed plan drawings. She also assisted us on colors, lighting, tile and appliance options.

We wish there were more stars! Julia came to us recommended by the staff of Mary's Woods, a retirement community in Lake Oswego. We were moving from our home in Charbonneau, downsizing and upgrading. Julia came to our home to get acquainted with us and our style of living. She took photos and measurements of our furniture items and helped us decide which pieces to take with us. A true to scale drawing of our apartment with options of suggestions for furniture placement was developed for our review. After consultation, we chose a final design.
The guys from the moving company were amazaded by the accuracy of her placement and we are delighted. Further, Julia went shopping with us, taking us to see some pieces she thought would complement our existing furniture and even helped us integrate some pieces we found online.
One especially helpful service was the suggestions for placement of our wall art, Julia would even have hung them!
We are sorry to have our moving project come to completion as this will end our time with this extremely competent profession designer and truly nice person. More...

Kitchen remodels can be scary, but the best thing I did was to hire Julia to design our project. Our kitchen is complete now and I am amazed at how smoothly it went as she worked with us and also coordinated with the contractor.
One of Julia's best qualities is that she listens to the customer learning what our specific needs were as well as what our design preferences were. She blended all of these as she worked with us and guided us through decision-making. She even worked with us in picking our the optimal range, the best hood, and the most compatible granite color.
Julia is pleasant, easy to be around, never pushy, and clearly there for her customer. She is precise, thorough, professional and efficient. Her pricing, design schemes, record keeping, billings, communications and so forth are top flight. She is really exceptional.

I have used Julia's design services to design the kitchen in my contemporary/modern home. She actually designed it twice as the layout changed of the home. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend her services. Her understanding of functionality and aesthetics is wonderful and made the whole design process very easy. She immediately understood what I was trying to achieve and because she was so spot on the first time, we spent very little time in going back and forth. That she did this only through email communications, as I am in the southern US and she is in the western US, is again a testiment to her skills and vision. I recommend her without reservation.
