I worked with John for my portfolio in May. The only way to summarize working with him is amazing. Having worked with photographers before, none are like John. He makes you feel at home and helps you feel comfortable doing a photo session. To top it all off he does amazing work, we did several looks and all of them came out better than I had ever hoped. If you’re ever debating which photographer to use in the Florida region, then look no further. John Olive is the guy to go to. John is an amazing photographer and an all around great person!My daughter had a session with John and after a short while he made her feel very comfortable. He went above and beyond to make the photo session smooth and successful. He was patient and took his time making sure he capture the right shots.We shot both in his studio and by his pool. I was very pleased with the quality of his camera/lights/set up.John also has a great personality and is very easy to work with. He is a super friendly guy and very fun and pleasant to talk to. He took time with my daughter especially knowing it was her first time. John is an incredible photographer. He and his wife Erin worked as a team styling my daughter for her photoshoot. For street/beach shots they took the time to consider sunlight, which clothes would work best at each location and they worked way past the allotted booked time in order to get the job done with the utmost professionalism. John Olive is an amazing photographer!
Honestly, I had a hard time writing this review because I didn't know where to start and how to keep it short .
. . but I'll try.
1) John did not put a limit on time with me.
From what I know, most photographers charge per hour or are paid with a time constraint. John spent about 5-6 hours with me with no problems.
2) He's down to earth.
This was important to me. I had to take editorial model shots which I'm normally uncomfortable with. But by the time my wife and I got to know John personally, it was a lot easier to smile and take good pictures with him. He helped me relax.
3) He's great at what he does.
His studio was equipped with great lighting equipment, cameras, and his computer had Adobe programs. The pictures came out phenomenal and the retouching of my photos looked great while keeping me realistic and true to my real looks.
4) Last and certainly not least, his price rocks.
He was one of the most affordable photographers I found after searching between 4 or 5 others. What blew my mind is that he and my wife keep about 70 of the original pictures on top of the 4 he retouched!
All in all, I recommend this guy. He's good-hearted, talented, and affordable. I'd give him six stars if I could.
