What makes a great website?

To me the user experience/interaction, clear navigation, website purpose, great visuals and relevant content are what makes a great website.

What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?

What does your business actually do?
What do you want your site to accomplish?
What makes your company stand-out?
Who are your competitors?
Who are your customers or targeted audience?
What websites do you like and why?
Any specific features and/or styles,colors etc. do you want on your website?

Describe your creative process.

1. Research - I look up websites, services, products, competitors and target audience in the specific industry. Then i'll brainstorm and write some key points I notice across the industry. Its important for me to know your exact website types, featured content and functionality. I then take this opportunity to suggest the best solutions for your new website, e-commerce or print design.
2. Planning & Design - This stage I start the website design process by creating a wireframe for the new site (Content placement and Information Structure). This is a guide to the suggested content structure for each page. Once the website wireframe are approved, I'll then move onto the website design portion and start by designing Homepage options with different fonts, colors, layout, etc.
3. Web Development - Here I will develop the digital version of the approved layout design. Following, the final approved website text content given to me to add to the site. Lastly I will run some testing to ensure that the site is functioning and displaying correctly across all browsers and devices, to be ready for launch.

What information do you need from a client before you can start work?

Some information I need from a client before I can start working on their projects would be the following. Why do you want a website or have a current one redesigned? Whats your business/organization about? What makes your business stand out from your competetion? What problems does your business solve? Who are your targeted audience? What would you like for your visitors to do when they're viewing your site? What is your company's budget? By what date do you want your site completed? What are the long term goals for your website? Who will be responsible for updating your site?

What do you love most about your job?

I love to design and create. Being able to help others visions and ideas come to life. Learning and working with so many different businesses and the background stories. Helping other businesses to grow in the marketplace through web design or print and graphics. Seeing the expressions and happiness on clients faces when the project is complete.

What inspired you to start your own business?

There were a few things that inspired me to start my own business. I always loved creating from a young age, from drawing comics, cars and more. As I became older I was attracted to the graphic & web design field. So I pursued into learning both and how to make it into a career. When I worked for other companies I realized a few standards that I felt somewhat kept me from growing and reaching my best potential. During this time I decided to try and freelance part-time as I worked for someone else company. Eventually I committed full-time to my freelance career. Knowing if I were to build my own business/company on my own, would give me a great a feeling of growth and accomplishment. Freedom to manage my time and energy would create the right work/life balance would better my life all around. Being able to create and connect with other business like people was something I also felt inspired by. Challenging myself to succeed with my business, would lead me to take risks to follow my passion. Which would ultimately make reaping the rewards that much better.

Your clients should choose me because: Not only is this field of work my passion. As well as providing high quality work and exceeding expectations is important to me. Confidence, Patience and Trust are just as important when working with all my clients. I truly believe the experience I have in both graphic & web fields. Overall taught me early on that clients want to feel they're working with someone that is confident and can trust in achieving what they want .This all can be done not only if you understand patience, but being patient.
Some other reasons are I work closely with each client regardless of location. I strive to make the process enjoyable for both you and I. I designed print magazine, ad layouts, logos, stationary (letterheads, envelopes & business cards). I also created landing pages, web banners, ads, and animated GIFs. The process consisted of all stages from beginning to competition. First creating some mock ups on wireframes once I brainstormed some ideas and/or solutions. Then digitally design some mock ups, after that I would test out which designs fit best for the projects theme. I would then have other creatives take a look at it, and ask for feedback.

E-Commerce Website for a Spa Salon

I created this e- commerce website so the company can sell they're natural & organics skincare products. Having over 150 items in the shop, which includes all categories and subcategories. I focused on displaying all the products & categories to be easily navigated for shoppers. Including different options/variations on specific products to be chosen. Being able to add product directly into cart right off the product image. Customizable shop & cart display. Choice options of payment method. Direct Pay Pal link at checkout. User login account option in user bar at top of the page. You can create an account for when you login to site, which can remember your settings, previous orders and receive monthly newsletter with posts/events. Some more features included are in the Blog page which allows posts to be automatically posted on their social media platforms. Social media integration is important, by linking through cross-platforms it helps with targeting more of your audience as well as grow larger. It keeps all your posts synced at the same to. A link of the "Archives" to view is included on the blog's sidebar. The Events page created consists of a calendar which is viewable in week & month view options. The calendar will show if any events are coming up in that time period. On the event you can view a brief intro with an image if you hover your mouse over the day(s) that is a highlighted color. If the event is clicked you will then open the event with the full information including what the event is about, venue, organizers, locations,date & time. A map source which shows directions to the location is also included. The option to save the event and sync to your iCal or Google Calendar, is just a click on either of the buttons.

Website for a Painting & Pressure -Washing Company

I was hired to create a new website for a Painting & Pressure-Washing company. Some features I incorporated on the site consist of the following. A modern design and layout. A Estimate Calculator which allows viewers to have an idea of what their future potential project would cost. With this calculator you can input numbers to show you $ per SQF. (square foot). Some other features are a full gallery displaying the projects completed by the company. A Completed project timeline showing the amount of SQF. that has been painted and/or pressure-washed. I implemented all their social media accounts throughout the site. Which a click of the social media icons, it will allow you to directly visit the social page. The social media being cross-platformed has increased business and online traffic by 30%. A Contact form with all the company's information embedded on the contact page, allows the visitor another means of contact between them and the company (message/email sender). Logo, Business Card & Stationary Design For a Painting & Pressure-Washing Company

For this logo design, the client wanted to incorporate the state they're based out of (South Carolina). I included the state flag and a painters roller in a dark navy color way with white accents. This logo was also used to create business cards, clothing and stationary design & print. To view the logo and business cards you can check the website or above in the "Photos" section.

Website for a Restaurant

This specific client was looking for a classy traditional design and layout. Some of the main focuses I included in the site build was maintaining what the client wanted in a more modern layout. To let the viewers see the beautiful views of the large white victorian style architect. A gallery of the exterior and interior of the restaurant which includes grand dinning room halls with spacious window panes throughout the rooms. Yet it still gives that home comfortable feel. Some other features added to the site design and layout are a full lunch & dinner menu and pricing. Having one of the largest wine cellar and options, the full wine menu is also viewable under the "Wine" page. The color palette for the site layout & design is a rich burgundy red and off white. Social media integration through the site with a click of the icon. An Instagram feed displaying the latest photos from the restaurants Instagram page. Sections throughout the site I added some Parallax scrolling to give a touch of 2D & depth to the layout. Parallax scrolling allows the background contents/images to move at different pace then the foreground content/images, which gives a modern look. Flyer/Poster for an Art & Photography Show

The flyer/poster I created was for a client who is a photographer and artist. He setup his first art & music show at The Gansevoort Hotel in NYC. Two main focuses he wanted for the flyer's design was a touch of NYC urban feel with vibrant colors and to incorporate one of his favorite photos he shot. Using the b&w photo as the main layout and creating colorful text overlays made the design pop more. Being photography, art & music was the core of the show, I created some vibrant paint splatters throughout the design. Making sure I used the right color combinations with correct type fonts was key to executing the client's vision. Web Banners for a Phone Repair Company

This phone parts company hired me to create several web banners to display throughout their website. Each banner to advertise specifics points. Some of my designs included phone part images, clean gradient colors with some bold text fonts. Other banners included sale promotions,deals and free shipping.
