I had a zipper break and a snap come off of a pair of leather chaps that I had custom made 21 years ago. I purchased a couple of new pairs of chaps and tried them on, but they did not fit right. The zippers were too far back and they were just uncomfortable so I returned them. I didn't know what to do. So, I searched online for someone who could maybe repair these. I ran across Jose' here at JG Sewing and he was fantastic! I dropped the chaps off on a Monday and he said, "Give me a week" then he realized that it was great riding weather and I ride A LOT. He repaired them for me and I picked them up two days later on Wednesday. What a great service to a customer. I would not hesitate to bring him more business. Thanks Jose'! Job Well Done! More...

i have been searching for someone locally to do leather repair for a long time. i normally send my expensive purses and shoes to drshoe in columbus, ohio. unfortunately, that is an ordeal since everything is done over email and i worry if they will get what i want done correctly. i had just bought some boots, very expensive but got a great deal. unfortunately, the calf was inches too big. so after reading the reviews, i bought these boots in as well as a gucci belt that i needed shortened. jose was able to take prob an inch and half off of the calf and voila, my boots fit perfectly around my leg. the seams all lined up perfectly, the stitching was immaculate and the price was beyond reasonable. also, he is just the nicest guy! would give him ten stars if i could! Great place for shoe repair! Jose's shop is in his basement at the back of the house. I have had several pairs of nice shoes (Bostonian, J& M, Allen Edmonds shoes and boots) resoled by him. He uses top materials and does great work, all for a reasonable price. He also repaired some shoes for my wife that turned out great and installed French tips on a couple of pairs of my boots. After researching leather repair in the St. Louis area, I came across JG, saw the great reviews, and items similar to mine. I emailed Jose and within the hour he answered! Brought in my vintage Louis Vuitton for conditioning because it was very dirty, the leather was worn and cracked. I told him I wanted to keep everything original, but it needed some sprucing up. He explained what he'd be able to do in order to keep it the way I wanted. Picked it up today and it looks so much better now...worlds of difference. Jose did an amazing job repairing several pairs of my favorite shoes. He is extremely friendly, professional, efficient, and reasonably priced. He was so helpful and took the time to explain his plans for each project, and he promptly fixed three pairs of my shoes in less than 4 days! He is very skilled, as my repairs ranged from busted snap buttons, torn leather, broken buckles, scuffed and/or missing heels, etc. Regarding the repairs themselves, all of my shoes are in better shape than when I bought them brand new! His work is flawless, and I will never go to anyone else. I am already planning another appointment with him for my Coach leather saddlebag and a suede jacket. I needed my Icon Hypersport motorcycle jacket zipper repaired and did not want to spend a ton of money on a new jacket. I looked up this place on yelp and Facebook and compared it to other leather/shoe/zipper repair outfits and this had favorable reviews. Plus it was close to my work. I took my jacket in on Tuesday around 5pm and received a call Thursday that it was done. Great turnaround time and the new zipper looks great.
