I’m OBSESSED!!!! We live in Kansas and we’re in La and connected with Jessica again. We wanted family pictures and decided on a beach session. The shoot was so easy. She was beyond fantastic with the kids during the shoot and helpful with posing, lighting, and outfits! It was so much fun! And then the email came the pictures were done I had no idea what emotions I would have opening them. This was our kids first time to the beach first time in Cali and we wanted to capture it. She takes the time to get to know you that way your photos become personal. She knows what is important to you and your spouse and made sure that those photos were taken, but without your knowledge she captured some very special moments, unplanned, unposed, but perfect. Beach photos are difficult and she took some of the most beautiful photos I have ever seen of my gown blowing in the wind as I was walking on the beach with my husband. She is the first photographer I have ever seen come to rehearsal and at my age I have been to a lot of weddings. And good thing she did, we were married on the beach and with the wind and light she switched things around that would have been a disaster on wedding day had she not changed them. Jessica Nettles, my former student, went above and beyond with my son's college graduation photoshoot. We went to several locations, and with each shot, she takes her time to make it work. In the age of cellphones, people seemed to have forgotten or just stopped caring about actual photos and prints. I'll admit it's much easier to just snap a picture on my phone and call it a day but being the sentimental nut I've become that will never be enough. Since I became an "adult," got married and started having kids I have made it a point to force my family to having actual legitimate photos taken a few times a year. Yes, I could simply go to a photo studio with a Groupon deal but those tired staged poses are just so meh. Enter Jessica Nettles. If you're part of the Anaheim Hills community, anytime any asks for a photography recommendation there are at least 8 people that instantly throw her name in the hat. And for good reason. My first experience with Jessica was last Christmas for her Christmas mini sessions. Photos were done in October and they were in this beautiful tree lot in Brea (who woulda thought, Evergreen trees in SoCal). Even before the actual photo session happened, she made herself readily available to answer any questions regarding outfits or photography styles. Jessica even has compiled this handy doc to help families piece together color schemes and outfits according to seasons, she even offered a Facetime session to review prior to the session. The Christmas minis were just that, short sweet and to the point but through that first short initial interaction I was just blown away by all the details and intricacies that Jessica put into her photography. She had multiple set ups and props that she leveraged depending on the family she was working with. And when my baby was simply not cooperating she pulled out some great bribery tricks to get her to crack a smile (she checked with us first to make sure it was ok). And even just watching her interact with the family before and after our time slot, I was so impressed with how she interacted with her subjects - the ease of conversation and how natural she made the entire experience. My Christmas photos turned out absolutely beautiful. Here's a tip - order your cards through her! She has an entire catalogue with different layouts, fonts, foil prints - you name it. Yeah you can go and print at Costco but the quality won't be there. The cards Jessica printed for us had so much crisp details in the background and the colors were beautifully vivid. Most recently, Jessica did a family/maternity shoot for my family at Balboa Pier. I chatted with her a few times via phone and text to talk about what type of photos I was looking for as we brainstormed and narrowed down location ideas. And yes, I sent her random pictures of articles of clothing I was attempting to put together for a decent picture beforehand. One thing about Jessica that I just absolutely adore is how personable she is, the conversations were so easy and not forced in any way. So of course that translated over to how the photos turned out - day of we didn't feel like some stranger was having us pose but it just felt so natural. This woman has an eye for a great picture, she scanned the beach and captured all this beautiful lighting and leveraged the natural elements and was able to capture that all with the lenses of her camera. I was blown away when I saw the proofs come in shortly after the pictures were taken. Jessica kept me updated on the status of everything and was always checking with me to ensure that I was able to access my proofs and photos. Needless to say we fell in love with all of them and had the hardest time making our final decisions. If you're in need of a photographer, look no further. Jessica knows her shit. She's just amazing. A few things to note:- She's super easy to get a hold of, FB, phone, email, IG she's all over social media and she responds quick! - She has many many different photo packages and printing options from plain prints to canvases and wall decor.- She's a mommy of two so in addition to her mad photography skills, she has the child negotiation and bribery tricks down pat! Jessica had taken pictures for my uncle's family and he was right - Jessica is the best! I am graduating from Biola University and was really excited to take senior pictures. I had come up with a few ideas of my own and Jessica made them come to life. I am not great at posing, but she made me laugh and feel comfortable while taking pictures. She has so many great ideas and makes standing in front of the camera enjoyable. All of my pictures turned out amazing and she helped me choose the best ones to keep. There are not enough words to describe how wonderful it is to work with Jessica.
Every year I have 3 photo shoots for my family. I have been looking around all of OC for a talented photographer and I am constantly changing them because I get very disappointed most of the times with the style or with the results.
My dream came true and I finally found Jessica. Since I contacted her about info everything went so smooth. She answered all my texts promptly. She sent me the contract and even offered help with the outfits.
We had to move the date a couple of times because of the weather and she was always super accommodating and flexible.
I finally got to meet her and she just got me forever as a client.
I was a little nervous because my son wasn’t in the best mood that day but she not only handled him but handled me so good that I actually relaxed and enjoyed my time just watching my kid being a kid.
She made him laugh, talked to him and won his trust in a couple of minutes. She was so patient just following him, letting him play and explore and I honestly don’t know how she captured so many amazing pictures when my little one never stopped moving. That was one of the things that impressed me about her... She’s not the type that wants “poses” and perfect smiles and ask your kid to sit still a hundred times. That is just to prove how talented she is. She has the eye but also she has the heart to do this type of job.
Then she sent me the gallery. I have to confessed that I got tears in my eyes. She captured my son’s essence, those images are the same images that I have when I close my eyes and think of him so it’s an incredible feeling to know that I’ll have these pictures forever. Let's start by saying Jessica is awesome! Having a family photo taken is not something my family likes to do. Apart from the annual Christmas photo I take in our house it's been 10 years. I chose her because of all the wonderful things people said and during our phone interview she assured me she was great with kids, especially teens. Me and my husband were so lucky to have found Jessica as our Wedding Photographer. I was in a bit of a rush with only having about 3 months until my wedding date and even though Jessica had a lot of bookings she still decided to work with us. Even with the short notice and time she adjusted her schedule and made sure she still gave us exceptional service. She managed to schedule us in for engagement photo shoot with some really beautiful photos. She also visited the reception venue a couple times and attended the Church rehearsal to not let anything slip by the day of. She also was in contact with our DJ to make sure they were on the same page. I loved how she makes people feel comfortable but also will keep your wedding party focused in order to get all the pictures you really want. This makes everything run smoothly and takes any stress of the bride and groom. I can say Jessica is really passionate about her job and will go above and beyond for you. Let's just put it this way, she even picked up a dead bird and threw it out of the way in order to get a really pretty shot at the Golf Course. � I would definitely recommend Jessica and I will be using Jessica for future occasions. I am so happy with the pictures Jessica took of my family. She was so accommodating in selecting a location and day/time for the photo shoot. The day of the shoot, she was very efficient and organized so the shoot was effortless for my family. I really appreciated her warm, friendly demeanor, which put everyone at ease so she was able to capture our personalities in the pictures. The only issue I had was that all 130 pictures she took were perfect. Narrowing the photos down was next to impossible. It was a complete pleasure working with Jessica Nettles for my daughter's senior photos. Jessica took the time to get to know my daughter so she was able to take photos that captured her personality and use props that were uniquely important to her (in our case, my daughter's bunnies). Jessica gave us her opinion on what clothes she thought would work best for each of the different photo locations. She even let us borrow one of her necklaces which was a great addition to one of the outfits. The day of the photos we all rode together to the beach and Jessica knew exactly where we needed to be at set times for the best light, etc. She is a fun and relaxing person to be with all while taking her job seriously. We did not feel at all rushed during the photos and she took the time to listen to our thoughts or concerns. My daughter and I were both surprised at the many different locations we went to for the photos. Huntington Beach and the Balboa Pier provided many great backgrounds for the many photos taken. Jessica took so many photos that we ended up with tons of amazing proofs to look at and choose from. It was very difficult to narrow down which photos we actually wanted because there were so many wonderful shots. Jessica sent the proofs in a timely manner and she was quick to provide us with options for our senior announcements. The graduation thank-you notes were an added bonus which featured my daughter in her graduation gown, holding a large "thank-you" sign, in front of a beautiful sunset on the beach! We have 2 Seniors this year and wanted professional shots for the family, announcements, etc. Jessica had taken my brother's family's Christmas pictures so we gave her a call. She was so easy to work with - from the first phone call to the final pictures. She worked with us to set up different venues appropriate for both of my kids - 1 high school grad (an athlete) and 1 college grad. She was so creative and fun and was able to engage my camera-shy son. She started with some soccer action shots, followed up with Letterman's jacket pictures, some a little dressier, and then at my request - some fun ones with his hat on backwards. Jessica really brought out his personality and I loved the shots she got. My college grad had several ideas of her own for some fun shots. Jessica met us at her university and worked with my daughter to bring her ideas to reality. Jessica was so flexible and worked around a windy day. Jessica had also planned out a few venues in downtown Fullerton. We got some great pictures in her cap and gown and as well as some more dressed up shots. I particularly appreciated that Jessica is a professional with her own "plan", but she valued our ideas and worked with us to get some of those special shots. Jessica sent our proofs very quickly and worked with us to select the pictures that would best serve our needs. She even had great designs for photo grad announcements. We had plenty of great shots to pick from and she was efficient and timely in editing. I was extremely happy with the time and energy Jessica provided to our family. She communicated well, followed up quickly, and was very professional in all of our interactions.
