I would definitely recommend this place.  The food here definitely hit the spot with a great food portion served.  My personal opinion you can't put a price on amazing food

I have ordered & had delivered the Curry chicken, Jerk chicken & Brown stew chicken. The food is always hot and fresh when delivered. The flavors are authenic and rich! The small dinner portion is very generous! I get two satisfying meals from it!! Also, the delivery time is short! A plus!! Only negative...they use Door Dash for delivery.Their fees totaled almost 50% of my order total. More...

The goat soup is life!!! It's also one of the few places to get pattis that are made on site. Skip the ackee and saltfish as it was really bland. The lady behind the counter was nice until I she mistook me reading the menu for rushing her to get my soup. lol More...

I am a huge fan of Jamaican cuisine and have tried most of the places in PG and Montgomery County Maryland.  I have to say this place was fantastic!  The food was delicious and the portion was large.  I got the $6.99 lunch special and was stuffed.  Also not sure what all the comments about the bad service are about.  I had a very pleasant experience and the young lady who rang me up was very friendly.  When I told her it was my first time, she smiled and said I would love it... she was right! I just got my hair done and decided to try this spot out finally!! (After being right here over a dozen times) I'm not about the review stating rude service, bad food . .etc...but I ordered the oxtail meal large and it was during lunch hours in which those deals were amazing. But I had to plan my meal accordingly.  The food after splitting it up was delicious. All this just for me...at least a couple meals. I was amazed with the portion size with everything.  I definitely will be back soon...(probably before my next hair appointment...and this ride is 40 minutes) I recommend the Jamaican Country Kitchen...I will be posting soon  on my second visit. The first thing though that I want to point out is that EVERY SINGLE LADY that works their I am now convinced that they are just EVIL people and don't like people with manners. They never ever everrrrr smile, greet you with a hello, and zero tolerance if you get up to the front and don't know what you want. The curry goat and oxtail is da bomb. So when you come don't smile, don't say thank you, know what you want and get TF out of there! So sad though but I can be mean too especially if I spending my money! More...

I stumbled upon this restaurant for lunch when a friend was visiting from out of town. We ordered the lunch special which is a bargain at $7. I had curried goat, she had curried chicken. It was authentic and flavorful, the meat was very tender. It came with peas and rice, veggies, a couple of plantain, and a drink!!! I'm not in this area often, but next time I am, I know where I'll be stopping for lunch! More...

Try the salt fish. Tiny stores embedded amongst the leafy green callaloo stand tall amongst the starches of dumplings, bananas, and on this particular day yucca. Dynamic duo serving without a wince when I asked them a few pointed questions. Smiles all around. Next time I will try some of their baked goods. More...

This place is located in an odd shopping center but the food is great. The jerk wings are cooked just right, if you don't like them too spicy and some stew sauce on them that helps. Oxtails are amazing, I've also tried the brown stew chicken that's pretty good too!! More...

I love this place! They open early which is awesome for Ppl in my occupation. The staff is cool and are very friendly. I've had pretty much everything on the menu from jerk chicken to curry goat. My favorite tho, is brown stew chicken with rice and peas. The prices for the prices for the lunch specials are reasonable. My only issue is the amount of food they give you in the lunch but I guess you get what you pay for.All in all its a good place to eat be sure to get the brown stew chicken!Vanski out! More...

I am officially addicted. My stylist (I was waiting for my hair to dry) picked me up some oxtails, rice and peas, and some homemade sorrel, and it was truly yummy. The oxtails were flavorful and well-cooked, with just the right balance of flavors. I have been back twice since, and though the plantains were MUCH better the third time, I am a general fan. The customer service was prompt and responsive, though somewhat lacking in overall warmth. Overall, I will go back as long as the place stands! More...

I go here all the time! Great food for a great low price, and lots of it too. Also, they're usually more efficient than other J'can restaurants in the area. I've told friends and family about it. Only down side, like other J'can restaurants in the DC metro area don't expect fancy. More...

Hands down the best "authentic" Jamaican restaurant in town! I moved to this area from Brooklyn New York in the late 90's and I have searched for Jamaican food that is close to or the same as the food I had when in NYC with no success. This place destroys all of the competition. Let me tell you the best dishes in my opinion. Oh and by the way very affordable. Red stew peas with pig tails and white rice - my best dish there, they only do it from Fri-Sun I was told. This dish taste the way my aunt used to make it. They must have Jamaican/Panamanian roots.Curry Goat with rice and peas - delicious Jerk Chicken - this is my partners favorite, very tasty and spicy just like the ones in NY in the big smokers. The customer service is average which is what you get usually at Jamaican establishments. It just is the culture to have B face in my opinion but I got to know the two ladies behind the counter and there quite pleasant to me now.The only reason I would give this place one less star is the beef patties. I typically try the restaurants beef patties and that is an indication if they really put their elbows into their food. The beef patties at this place are the typical frozen unfrozen patties. I only found one place in Maryland that "use to" make homemade beef patties which they brought in from a lady in Columbia Maryland daily. That place was Montego Bay on Rogers Ave in Baltimore. Unfortunately, they started using frozen patties a couple years back so I would not run there to try them.If you're in Maryland make sure you try this place, and let me know if you loved the food as much as I did. Actual visit 3/19/13. Another hidden gem tucked away in a nondescript small strip shopping area.  I had the Jerk chicken was good but a little too much spice for me. ... yes I know it's jerk and it should be spicy.  I absolutely LOVED the brown stewed chicken. If I'm ever back in the area I will be going back for the BS chicken and the coconut cake.  Hmm Hmmm GOOD !! More...

Preface: My fiance is Jamaican, and I've spent countless years hanging out in his family's kitchens. So I'd like to say I'm an authority on good, AUTHENTIC Jamaican cuisine. That's all to say that this place is the real deal Holyfield. The Jerk seasonings will burn your lips off if you aren't careful, but is flavorful enough to stand on its own merits without it. I don't know if they've got a grill back there or what, but it's got that good Char-broiled taste that you can ONLY get from real Jerk Chicken. They've also got a bunch of traditional fare, Ackee and Saltfish, four different kinds of porridge...Cow Foot(?!). They've got it. Future Hubby had Jerk Pork, which was just as good (though I preferred the Chicken). Rice and Beans were decent and the mixed veggies were AMAZING. Also had a glass of homemade Sorrel, it was the BUSINESS.Hands down best Jamaican Food in the area that isn't coming from Mom's kitchen. Was only going to give them 4 stars because there's always room for improvement, but when I noticed that they had EASTER BUN complete with the canned cheese, I realized that truly, this place is legit and worth 5 stars. Expensive, but worth the price. Go, you won't be disappointed. More...

OMG!!! Jerk Chicken chicken in my tummy, yummy yummy!             Brown Stew chicken in my tummy, yummy, yummy!  - - Shout out to my               man Peele, because that is my jam!  It's a new place in what most would call Landover Hills near the oldest Giant imaginable.  The food is excellent, although the cocoa bread needs some help.
