LOVE this place and so happy I found them!!Incredible customer service, gorgeous product....cannot say enough good things about them (or Valerie specifically). I needed flowers and balloons delivered for an event very last minute on a Sunday. J Miller comes through for you! I recently sent my daughter an arrangement for her birthday through Teleflora. Teleflora did great . . .... It was the chosen Florist who very unprofessionally ignored the order for 2 days. Teleflora contacted J Miller, the next closest florist to her. I've used J. Miller several times now since my wife works nearby and I like to surprise her with flowers now and again.Aside from the friendly service and wonderful FRESH arrangements that I mentioned in my previous review, they will absolutely do whatever they can to make you happy. Today I called and needed pretty fast turnaround and was pleased that I got a "thank you" text from my wife not long after.Sending flowers can be expensive and I've used other places have spent a bunch of money to be disappointed. Veronica and Robin were amazing! I came in frantically on my way to memorial service not knowing I wanted flowers. They had a wedding appointment five minutes after I came in, so they were very busy. They made me this incredible bouquet within 10 minutes, and were so gracious. Their flowers are fresh and amazing! While I was there I saw loads of fresh flowers come in! Highly recommend this place! Need to pile a happier review on top of that last one ...It's the simple things in life, yes?  Simple small almost inadvertent could be an after thought or an impulse or just something that you weren't thinking about or if you were it was all kind of how could something so fundamental, so unadorned, so straightforward be making me so happy right now.  How.On Piedmont there are a number of places strategically located along the avenue that will make lovely arrangements for you and for the person who also enjoys surprise simple things.  They're all different and as a consequence overlap in places but do not necessarily compete and without doing a compare and contrast here if you've been to the avenue you know of what I speak.A few basic observations - they're all staffed by really nice people.  And.  Importantly.  If you're kind you'll receive this kindness back in an outsized proportion.  This established, there is but one place of the three that has a broad variety of wreaths.  Yes.  Wreaths.  Those things hanging on everybody else's door except for mine because I don't think like that.  But lapin does.  Lapin likes wreaths.  And pillars.So the other day on the Saturday before the Sunday it was nice and I strolled up through Olmstead and on the way back down as I passed this shop I used to look at with compromised eyes from the X when the X was across the street as I walked past I wondered hmm.  Perhaps they have wreaths.Oh.  My.  Lanta.  Do they ever!  Wreaths in abundance ring the higher part of the big room over the cases and you have to get them down with sticks.  In the small room behind the front where you can walk while they work there are more.  Wreaths Galore.  Like a Bond movie character kind of.And.  They have wreath making classes.  Yes.  Here at J. Miller I clearly stumbled upon a wreath headwater.  And the primary person I believe was there making things and we spoke briefly on her craft and there's no mistaking that the folks that create in this space care about what they do not just because of the simple pride in workmanship but the smile they know will come when their handiwork is proffered and hung from the front door so every time a body comes in or out there is spring in a ring or fall pine cones or whatever season or mood you feel inclined to share with the outside world.This is a simple thing in life.  It will make you happy.  I hope you give this place a try.Cheers! The basket full of flowers my friend received was bigger and more beautiful than the picture! I ordered at 6pm and she had the flowers on her desk before noon the next day. The basket was overflowing with more flowers than what was pictured, and they were fresh and absolutely beautiful. I never attended my high school prom ( I was always the "prom date"), and neither did my friend/date - and so when the opportunity came to attend an adult prom hosted by SoOakland, I wanted the bonafide experience - minus the limo. I love this place. We always stop here before we visit the cemetery right down the street to pick up some flowers. But this wonderful store has so much to offer for everyone. Beautiful flowers and plants and exquisite gifts. Valerie and her staff are always very helpful. I recently had occasion to need to send a gift basket to a relative undergoing treatment at a hospital near downtown Oakland.  I was, at the time, in Southern California, and (as a result of disappointing past experiences with other such vendors) I was nervous about the quality and timeliness of a gift basket ordered over the phone, from far away, and without the ability to first check out the product in person.   J. Miller Flowers and Gifts more than delivered (both figuratively and literally); the basket was quickly brought to the specific hospital room where my relative was staying, filled with far more than I'd expected for the price, and included a number of specific items that I'd mentioned my relative had a fondness for.  They (quite quickly) went out of their way to provide exactly the sort of cheering-up-basket that I'd had in mind.  I couldn't recommend J. Valerie and her crew at J. Miller Flowers and Gifts did the flowers for our San Francisco City Hall wedding. I didn't have any color scheme in mind but I knew I wanted vibrant and bright colors that would make my guests smile. I only knew of dahlias and gerbera daisies that came in the bold colors I wanted but Valerie's extensive knowledge in flowers showed me how much fun other types of plants and flowers in those colors could add to the fullness and personality of the centerpiece. She did it so quickly too that it's impressive to see in person.Everything was so fresh and beautiful; exactly what I envisioned. The staff is a truly artistic crew and everything was just radiant. The service is just the best you can ask for. Flower delivery was on time and we even requested a boutonnière for my husband before the delivery so we can have it for our first look. Valerie also brought a spare boutonnière in case anything happened to it early in the day. All of our corsages and boutonnieres for our guests were labeled with names to avoid any confusion or awkwardness and our coordinator didn't have to ask any questions.
