I came here for dinner and it was filling and delicious! For apps we enjoyed the chip and queso - can you go wrong with chips and queso? Never haha. I enjoyed the steak with mushrooms and gravy with a side of asparagus and mashed potatoes. The meat was flavorful and cooked perfectly how I like it. My date enjoyed the salmon with rice and green beans. The gravy that covered the salmon was delicious! For dessert, we enjoyed the crème brûlée - it's our favorite dessert and it was a hit! I really enjoyed the Moscow mule and Bourbon lemonade! Overall great dinner. The staff was very friendly. We also had reservations and were seated immediately on arrival. More...
A really great midweek neighborhood place to stop by and hang out with friends. The food is always of the consistently high-quality and the service is super fast. I really like how they manage their entire restaurant to accommodate busy times without giving up on service. They have a blackberry margarita that is to die for. I have often stopped by at this restaurant to meet Friends or for a quick drink. Great place. More...
This place was great place to stop by and grab a meal before getting to the airport! Their food was delicious. I highly recommend their Mac and cheese. If you stop in before 7, they have some great happy hour options. More...
Great menu (although you should permanently bring back the Nashville hot chicken) and atmosphere. Brandy is the best; been coming here a long time & she makes the difference -- friendly, exceptional service, and she makes sure food is always on point & accurate.
Always fun to hang out here with friends. Love Taylor and Brandy. They are nice and friendly. Always with a great smile. Great service!

Can I just say stellar everything! From the moment we walked into the door, to the service staff, the food, the drinks, the environment and the dessert! You guys should be so fucking proud! We have been driving by saying we should do there! Well we did and we have zero regrets! Brandi was our waitress and big props to her for making our expierence so awesome!!! The food is fresh and fantastic!!! We will be back....SOON! More...

I love this spot. After having a taste of their beignet and salmon kale salad, I wanted to order one of everything on the menu. It was simple yet executed perfectly. I enjoyed the simplicity of the dishes but that the ingredients were top notch. I enjoyed my not-so-brunch brunch thoroughly. If ever in town again, this would be a definite go to spot. More...
This place is always so good but one of those places you sleep on because of all the other options in the area. Everything I've had here has been delicious whether it be a regular menu item or a special. The variety can't be beat when it comes to the specials and the staff is always extremely friendly. Shout out to Chandler who gave us excellent service and recommendations. He also gave us the inside scoop on job openings for our teenage son! Check this place out, especially when the weather cools a bit, the outdoor seating is really cute and we'll situated! More...
This is one of my favorite places to eat in Coppell. I must admit I am absolutely addicted to their chicken and waffles. It is a great combination of sweet salty spicy. It is a must try!!! I also greatly enjoy their barbacoa nachos they are very generous and every nacho has something on it! It also had a drizzle of barbecue sauce which I believe greatly compliments the cheese and meat! Highly recommend this place! More...
Cispy Cauliflower was the bomb! Highly recommend it!

Lovin the bad mom’s brunch!
Fun restaurant! Food was delicious and the staff was great! Our server, Emily, was prompt and ensured we were well taken care of. Very friendly and efficient. Will definitely go back. More...
Went on Saturday evening. Ordered the Barbacoa nachos and the cheddar burger. Taste was great. Only negative was that the burger started falling apart towards the end, and became a knife and fork job.
Ali was excellent and friendly, our glasses were never empty. The brunch menu is fantastic and well priced. One of my favorite brunch spots in DFW!
From the Austin area. I've been down here for work for about two weeks... this place has been amazing. Awesome food, awesome wine and awesome customer service. Shout out to Anna the bartender... she is amazing! They were pretty busy for a Wednesday but she did great. I've been at other places and have had horrible service (Chill, BJ's Restaurant and Movie Studio Grill). None of those places were as busy as here. I will definitely recommend this place to my co-workers! More...

Fabulous food and great staff!
Veggie burger was made in house as opposed to the standard bean burger patty most restaurants offer. It was great!
We have consistently had a great experience here. From brunch to dinner, the food is quality and the drinks are delicious. Highly recommended. We have been coming here for several years and never had a bad meal. More...
A great Friday night dinner. We will definitely be back. Our server Breanna was friendly and attentive. We had the queso, a salad, a bacon avocado something or other sandwich, and the Dr Pepper short ribs-which were awesome! !! We sat outside and the music was a little loud, but we were able to sit far away from the band so it was fine. See you soon. More...
We had the flatbread appetizer, beef tenderloin and salmon entree's. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. The menu selection is fairly limited. Our meal with 3 beers was $80 excluding tip, a bit expensive but worth the expense. Highly recommend the blood and honey beer. Could have polished off a keg of that! Great service; apps and beer came out promptly. More...
Long time patron. Had a wonderful brunch last Sunday. Sat in the bar and our bartender, Chandler, was one of our favorites we have experienced in years. Delicious drinks and food as always! More...
J. Macklin's Grill is curiously tucked away in a strip center that should otherwise be occupied by a family dentistry or an optometrist's office. Parking in the front can be sparse, so you can usually find me in the back. The buffalo eggrolls are probably my go to appetizer, but the fried pickles are also well done, especially when consuming a profusion of beer. The burgers, chicken skillet, and chicken fried steak are all done nicely, I usually opt for their fries versus other sides as they are executed well and typically come out hot. Though really most of their dishes are commendable, and I've never tried anything there on the rotating menu and or permanent menu that I didn't care for. I do wish they'd bring back the chicken fried steak they used to have with pico de gallo, avocados, and some sort of Texican inspired gravy. While I can't remember the name, it was very tasty. There was also a fried fish sandwich that was flavorous, that I also wish would make a reappearance. I really like J. Macklin's, and really the only thing stopping me from giving them 5 stars is their beer and wine selection. The wine section is loaded with common Californian options, which aren't bad, but are too pedestrian and there are much better imports for less (this is strictly my opinion). Also their relevant selection of draft beers is minimal, which I can't really blame them for, however it would be nice to see them offer some of the more unique local beers, perhaps some of True Vine's offerings. Overall one of my absolute favorite places to visit in Coppell. Though please watch your speed if you visit as Denton Tap is very actively monitored. More...
Went in for a quick dinner on a Friday night. It wasn't busy at all. I've gone for happy hour and it was people hanging out of the door. I'd never eaten dinner there before so it was a must. This is the Best place to eat in Coppell Tx. Period I loveeeeee J.Mac for brunch but their dinner menu is Bomb also. I've gone weeks and weeks without visiting and the servers will walk right up and say Heyy where've you been?! I love it, it's like cheers minus the beers! More...

Great Outdoor Patio w/umbrellas and fans!
The food is always great, but I wanted to give a shoutout to the crew. We were eating outside on a sunny day, when a freak storm hit. Things were flying everywhere and the power was coming in and out. A large branch fell on a woman's car and everyone's food was blown away. The staff was incredibly professional and replaced our food, helped keep everyone to safety, and carried on. It was incredible to see. The manager even held a umbrella to help my friend's baby to his car when we had finished. It was really inspiring how the whole situation was handled, I really can't praise them enough! Please be nice to them and tip them well! More...

Definitely a home town favorite. It's our local "cheers" bar and grill, where everyone knows your name. Todd and his staff do an amazing job. It was awesome. Would highly recommend eating there. Service was good and food to die for!!
Fantastic service and food. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meals. The patio was slammed when we came but walked in and got seated immediately. We will be coming back for sure.
I live in Lewisvile and enjoy a few restaurants surrounding my house, however, none as much as I enjoyed J. Macklins! We stumbled upon the place one Saturday afternoon and decided to stop by for a drink to chat and decide what we were going to do with the rest of our evening. We were greeted with a smile and ended up sitting at the bar. The bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable - I ended up having a Blackberry Mule- it was amazing and fresh and just the perfect combo of flavor | alcohol! To make a long story short, we ended up staying and having an early dinner!! It is the perfect combination of casual & upscale- from the hostess to the serving staff and management, we really enjoyed our time and have been back several times with our families! A few things: Hip Chips- omg- they are a must have! The Shrimp & Grits- we still talk about! The Super Goat Salad- will remain my go to Salad! It is also a great Brunch Spot! More...

I'm loving this place. Atmosphere, Service, and Food superb! The Lobster Tacos are to die for! Will keep coming back!
The drinks were a little slow since the servers were a little more concerned with rolling silverware, but the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend.
This is a over the top great restaurant. Good food, good service, good time. Many TV's perfect to watch a sports game, a full bar, a variety of options from apps to desserts. I usually get the Chedder Burger or the State Club Tenders, delicious! Wait staff is out standing and acts more as a friend than a waiter/waitress. Food comes correct, fast, and delicious. They also have take-out, and outdoor seating with live music on Thursdays in the spring, great time to hang out and listen to some tunes. More...

No but really, if you love yourself you will get the creme brûlée... More...
Great brunch and great service
We were seated fairly fast on a Saturday night. Menu is simple and easy to navigate. The barbacoa nachos were pretty badass. I ordered the skillet chicken that comes with spinach orzo and artichoke. Kudos to the chef for letting me swap out artichoke for some asparagus, despite it apparently not being "allowed" per the waiter (don't know why or what that's about...). Everything tasted good though, fast service, courteous wait staff. Something nit picky and irrelevant to the actual food but their booth seats could use refurbishing. They had giant gaping holes in all of them. I guess it isn't really that important if the food and service is great. I'd come again if I was passing by the area. More...

Very good food. Not too terribly loud.
Friendly place but I had a poor experience here. Took my 7 year old who ordered a burger with NO cheese. It arrived with cheese. Mistakes happen so I calmly told the waiter who took it back to the kitchen and brought the SAME burger back just scraping off the cheese. Now I was a bit ticked off but I didn’t want to piss off the waiter for obvious reasons. But my son also noticed the cheese sticking to the burger and was unhappy. I felt really bad. I asked for the manager who wasn’t available. I wrote an email to the manager/owner who lets just say didn’t give me a reason to go back. More...
The atmosphere is great for a local establishment....selection is good. The Kerrs do a lot of charity donations for the Coppell and nearby communities.
Great neighborhood spot for dinner. A lot of these local places in Coppell are good but not great. J Macklins is great! It's a large menu with diverse options for everyone. Every appetizer I've ever had there has been delicious. I've had great tacos, burgers, sandwiches, and salads - from what I can tell you can't go wrong. High quality food and nice service. More...
What a nice find. We were hungry and nearby and thought we'd give it a try. Prices are moderate. The service was very good. The menu is not huge but the variety is just fine because the quality and taste was very good. We both ordered off the specials menu on the board. I was told it changes at least once a week. The Decor is typical of a nice pub style restaurant. Our server was friendly and attentive. More...

First time at J. Macklins and it was great! I will definitely be back. Food and atmosphere made for a fantastic experience!
We love J Macklins. It is our go-to. But the biggest reason we go there is Brandi. Often we come on Wednesdays after our daughter's soccer practice. We will try to sit in the bar to make sure Brandi is our server because she is amazing. Not just with cocktails but service in general. It's pretty darn crowded on Wednesdays so sometimes we have to sit in the regular dining room, but even then and even with the amount of people in the bar Brandi is always 100% on top of everything and we get our drinks ASAP! Delicious brunch and staff was so nice!
J Macklins has been on my husband's best lunch list for years, and yesterday he finally took me to try it out for myself. We ordered the the brisket nachos, cowboy burger, and the chicken club and both agreed that the main event was the brisket tacos . They were generously-portioned, topped with savory brisket and had all the fixin's (pico, cheese, etc.). The cowboy burger (I ordered mine sans the bun) was also tasty-- hickory barbecue sauce, hot peppers, cheese and a seasoned pattie. It was pretty tasty, but I actually preferred my husband's club sandwich over it. Made with juicy chicken, buttered bread, mayo, and avocado, it was simple and delicious. Add in a side of sweet potato fries and a cheap happy hour, and it's a no brainer this place is a top lunch pick in the area. More...

Love the atmosphere and the food is delicious!
On a visit with one of my college best friends, she recommended we go to J Macklins for brunch. I'm always open to try local spots, so off we went. I was very impressed by the ambiance in the restaurant upon walking in. Once seated, I was amazed by the choices on the menu very little "Safe" options which I rarely like to play it safe when ordering anyways. I went for their rendition of chicken and waffles. This was not regular chicken and waffles people this was next level. The waffle was described as bacon/Gouda, spicy fried chicken breasts, fried onions, spicy honey butter, and topped with a fresh jalapeño. WOW it was amazing all of my taste buds were at attention with the lovely sweet and spicy combination. Definitely packed on more heat though which I loved to accompany my cranberry mimosa. Service was great and if I'm ever back in town... I will definitely be going back to J Mack's. More...
Great food ...great atmosphere.
Generous delicious brunch. Nice patio for a Saturday brunch. The food and the service were great. And you can't beat $3 mimosas!
Great local place. Very consistent. Stable staff. Lots of local fundraising. Overall, what you want in your community. I love the burgers, salads, and brunch.
Nick was an EXCEPTIONAL server with the BEST personality and sense of humor. All stars for him.
Good but over priced. 35.00 for a dinner of fish and chips and a dinner of meat loaf. While drinking water.
Some people say that J Macklins Grill is over hyped, others say that they love it. I myself have to say I'm with the people who love it. The food there is amazing, and so is the service. There's nothing more to say than to go eat there. More...
Great place to catch up with friends after work! Loved the ambience, the food and the service. The menu has a wide variety to choose from and will have something for everyone. The service is pretty quick and within moments you will be served a big plate of heaps of food, not bad for the money you pay. Three of us went for fish and chips, BBQ pork ribs and pulled chicken tacos. Fish and chips was very good, enormous chuncks, beer batter fried to perfection and tasted delish till the last bite. BBQ pork ribs had a coffee rub which we couldn't really taste but the ribs were well cooked, meat almost falling of the bone. Chicken tacos were packed with lots of filling and flavor. We also exchanged our sides with other ones we prefered. Our friend was having a birthday and we were meeting up for that reason, and they caught on to that and provided the bday girl with some awesome dessert on the house ! Yes, extremely nice of them! This group meets up once a month at a new place, and we decided to repeat J.Maclin next month again! Definitely says something about the the place! More...
We had a great experience! All of our food was great and the atmosphere was nice for our family of 5. Highly recommend the chicken and waffles!
First time here. My boyfriend noticed a packed patio and figured it was a great place to try for brunch. The service was good and the food was amazing . We had the barbacoa hash ... each bite got better as I finished my plate. We will definitely be back for the live music and try lunch or dinner More...
Everything was delicious, each course was quickly prepared, our server was awesome and they had a saxophonist playing outside. We'll be back for sure .
Had tried this once before awhile back and remember not being over the moon about the food. However, in a rare moment of dining spontaneity, we decided to order some lunch as it's very close to home. Pleased to say it was pretty good! We had the barbacoa nachos, brisket melt sandwich, jaywalker tacos. I feel that pricing is appropriate for both quality and portion size received. Unfortunately, the bottom piece of bread on the sandwich was quite soggy and our order was incorrect the first time. However, I will say that all around service was fantastic, and the bartender more than made up for the slight error with our food. I'm sure we will be back. More...
One of our favorites in Coppell. Everything on the menu is great. We especially enjoy their Saturday and Sunday brunch.
I meet my friend here for brunch or sometimes after work for a quick bite. The food is always delicious and the service top notch
The good reviews brought me here and they were very accurate. I was seated and served quicker than i ever expected. My appetizer was queso blanco, which was outstanding. I chose the turkey burger as an entree. It came out in a very timely manner, still hot from the grill. The burger packed more flavor than most high priced beef burgers i've had. I had a really good experience and would recommend to anyone in search of good food and a good time!! More...
Came for brunch.... Food was amazing! We'll certainly be back for another round. Didn't give a 5 Star because the coffee sucked.
Omg this is my first time here and I can't say enough about how amazing the food is here! I got the Jaywalker Tacos with their Blanco Queso for an appetizer. .. perfection. The atmosphere was really chill at the time I went, just after lunch rush, on the patio. Rachel was our server, and she was so attentive and friendly to make me and my boyfriend's first time experience the very best. We didn't even have to ask for to go drinks, she had them ready! My boyfriend had their brunch chicken and waffles and omg, that is a Texan sized meal! The dinner portion apparently is larger! Wow. So 5 stars on the quality of food, 5 stars on friendly service, 5 stars on relaxed environment and music that was not too loud. 5 star experience. Great start to this St. Patrick's Day! More...
My husband and I went here on a Friday March 9th, around 7 and the place was just about full, but we were able to get seated right away. The waiter we had was knowledgeable about the beer selections and was able to steer us to a couple great IPA selections. We also took his suggestions on what to order. I had the meatloaf which is not something I would normally order when going out, but it was amazing. My husband had a short rib pasta, and it was rich and delicious. We ended by sharing bread pudding, and that was also yummy. The ambience, food and service were all on point and I would definitely recommend it. More...
Loved the atmosphere here! The drinks were great and the food is amazing! Definitely can not wait to return for brunch!
This place is sooo yummy! I stopped by here with a group of friends (there were 6 of us) for brunch around 11:30am on a Saturday. Our server was so kind and extremely attentive. They have a brunch menu and an extensive alcoholic brunch drink menu. After 11am on the weekends they start serving lunch but before that they'll only serve what is on their brunch menu. I wasn't too hungry so I ordered a side order of pancakes and a side of grits. All of our food came out within 10 minutes of us ordering and there were other groups of people there which was impressive! What I really like about this place is their portion sizes. They are practical for the price and you have enough food to finish your plate (I'm not a fan of brunch leftovers). The chicken biscuit is HUGE and one of their best sellers and I can see why. My pancake was INCREDIBLE. It wasn't too dense or fluffy and the flavor was spot on! Only thing is they served me cold syrup which was no good because my pancake got cold. The side order of grits was so cheesy. I saw it was jalapeno grits but it wasn't spicy at all. Only thing is it was maybe a small scoop of it served in a b&b bowl and it cost $5 which seemed a little high for this type of restaurant. Was it worth $5? Not really, but it was flavorful so I can't complain. I also got coffee with my brunch. This is the only thing that wasn't good. Stay away from it because the coffee was really watery. Stick with mimosas.Parking outside of the restaurant is tight so come a little early so you don't have you park behind the building. Overall, if you want a tasty meal, I would recommend you come here. All 6 of us finished all of our food and we were very happy! They have a decent kids menu and the food and service were good! More...
I got the buffalo chicken egg rolls which were very good. They are better then expected and would definitely recommend. I also got the short rib radiatori which was really good. It wasn't a heavy or a large meal, but cut up short ribs on pasta. I will definitely be going back. More...
Fun local hangout. Love going for Sunday brunch or a dinner and drinks on a Friday night. They have solid vegetarian/pescatarian options and heir habanero ketchup is the bomb.
What a great place with AMAZINGLY good food. Here's how it went down...Wife and I were sat immediately and the waitress was friendly and at our table quickly. Ordered the Truffle Fries as an appetizer and they were fiendishly delicious. Ordered a Martini, yes you dolts, a real one with Gin. Vodka martinis are for sorority girls who are trying to look mature and sophisticated. The martini was excellent.I ordered the barbecue ribs special and it was so delicious. The ribs were perfect, the onion strings were great, the cornbread fantastic, and great mac'n'cheese! The wife got the Salmon bowl thing, loved it, but thought it could use less asparagus. When I tried it, I thought it was phenomenal the way it was made.Definitely on the top of our date night list going forward. More...
Really great. Wonderful service and fresh tasty food. Just passing through and the food was great!

It's good brunch food. Had the Texas omelette that's filled with crisp bacon, sausage, cheddar, and topped with cream gravy, cheese jalapeño grits (stellar) and a big delicious biscuit to complete my carb overload. Can't give 5 stars with those potatoes. They are cut thin like potato chips and fried stacked. Some are crisp, some soft, all greasy. Our waitress had a great attitude. Kinda sad I didn't get anything to go as I am hungry now. We will be back. More...
Excellent brunch and I love the lunch menu! Service was outstanding, especially considering we went during a busy time. We both had brunch items off of the grill (French toast, Belgian waffle, bacon, eggs, etc. .) and it was great, but I hear the short ribs on the lunch and dinner menu are amazing! More...
A group of hockey players and their parents had lunch on their patio which is a great space for outdoor dining. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I heard the shrimp tacos were amazing. Their tomato basil soup was very good - rich and creamy. I had their brisket nachos and they were superb! Another friend tried the pork belly and loved it. My husband got the crisp chicken sandwich with habanero bacon which he really liked...the bacon very spicy so he ate it separately but it was very good. Several people tried their salads and said they were very good. They had a kids menu too which is always nice. A few is tried one of their signature drinks and enjoyed those as well. I had the clarification which was gin, prosecco, lime and cucumber which I enjoyed because it wasn't too sweet. They have an amazing wait staff too. They had a large group to manage and made sure we were all taken care of which isn't always easy...they handle without any challenges...big kudos for that! More...
Pretty good stuff here. I think this place gets overlooked. The brisket nachos are amazing and the burgers are the bomb. Try it.
This has always been one of my favorite off the path restaurants. I've been coming to J Macklins Grill for the past five years whenever I'm in the area. I can't say enough about ALL the things I love about J Macklins Grill. First, the atmosphere is perfect every time I eat there whether it is outside or inside. The weather is perfect for outside seating now and we love to eat outside and listen to the live music on weekends. Second, the food is delicious and they are always putting something new on there menu or having a special that is awesome. One of my favorite new appetizers is the Ahi Tacos, taste as good as they do in Hawaii. Of course we always love the fried pickles or the yummy hip chips. My favorite entree is the skillet chicken but you can't go wrong with their street tacos, burgers or brisket nachos. Lastly, the wait staff is always polite and ready to serve. We also enjoy eating breakfast here on the weekends, we sit in the bar area and enjoy the bottomless mimosas or the bloody marys. More...
Today was my first visit at the restaurant and I enjoyed the experience. My friend and I went at the perfect time and was seated within 5 minutes of arriving. The menu offers everything to a light snack, drinks, brunch, lunch to special entrees for dinner. I had the French toast plate which was delicious! My goofy friend order the chorizo, not realizing that chorizo is meat and she is vegetarian LOL. Our waitress Yohanna and the manager was so kind and gracious with us to re-cool her order as desired. Even the chef came out to greet us! Next visit ask for Yohanna, she is very kind and attentive throughout our visit. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very intimate and cozy. Very comfortable for small or large parties. I would recommend setting a reservation for larger groups to ensure short wait times. The place is packed! Also the parking is limited so make sure to go during off-set busy hours. I loved the food, the staff and will definitely visit again soon! More...

Excellent every time hard to go anyplace else. Would LOVE if they would add 1 Italian option to permanent menu such as chicken parm, spaghetti and meatballs or lasagna.
Great food, great service! First time for brunch, and we weren’t disappointed!
We're never in Coppell, but we were looking for somewhere for brunch. Came upon this gem. Took a seat on the patio and were immediately greeted by Megan (love that) I started out with beignets, pretty good with three dipping sauces. I then ordered a Tuscan omelet and it did not disappoint. The caramelized onions and sundried tomatoes were delicious. My daughter had shrimp tacos and Mexican corn and loved it. We will definitely be back... More...

My husband loved the steak. I loved the service.
I just happened to stumble upon this place a while back. I have had nothing but great food and service since I have been coming here. They have great craft beer, appetizers, sandwiches, and dinner. It's a nice place to chill and have a drink, or go out to have a nice meal. Try the hip chips! pretty good. More...
I really enjoyed the Shrimp and Grits with jalapeños & cheese. They have a nice selection of craft beers on tap as well!
This is me and my partners first time to have brunch here and it was FANTASTIC!! He has the shrimp and grits and I had the enchiladas. .so yummy. We sat at the bar and the bartender was great. This is our number one spot for brunch and we will definitely be back next Sunday! More...

Popped in to meet a friend for happy hour. They have a new menu. All sorts of new and exciting things to try. We tried the new grilled artichokes. Grilled perfectly grilled with a light char & seasoned well. Yum Yum. We look forward to coming back and trying some more new items. Service at the bar was very attentive. We will be back soon! J Macklins is one of our favorite everyday restaurants. They serve American-style food and everything I've tried is excellent. The prices are reasonable and the service is great! They have a relaxed, casual vibe so it's the perfect family or low-key date place. More...

Fantastic this is my first time having shrimp and grits, it was so creamy and delicious. I even ordered it to go. My husband and I shared the chicken and waffles and it was also very good, I don't even like waffles but combining the 2 with the syrup that they give you makes an awesome pair. They were fast and courteous. I will be back to eat there a lot More...
The Jaywalker tacos will make you feel like Luke Skywalker: One with the force! (and by "force" I mean "food coma") Super filling as much as it is delicious, split with an appetizer or two over your mid-day lunch break.
The food and service are always awesome! For some reason, I haven't been able to find a cocktail that I really like though. Oh well, not the end of the world because everything else is so great! I love their queso and I don't think that you can go wrong with any of their meals. More...
I am going to preface this review with the fact that I was doing a whole 30 during my visit to J Macklins, so this review is purely for the service and smells floating from my friend's brisket nachos. This was the perfect middle ground to meet up with my girlfriends. The atmosphere is very casual with ample patio seating. We arrived around 4 PM and were seated immediately. We chatted and stayed for many hours. For only ordering a bowl of fruit, the service never staggered. My friends got a burger, which she inhaled, so I assume it was tasty, and the brisket nachos, which smelled HEAVENLY. Around 6-7 PM, the restaurant started picking up and when we left at 8PM, it was pretty hopping. Now that I've completed my whole 30, I'd definitely go back the next time I'm in town! More...
Great food (I love the skillet chicken), atmosphere (feels like Cheers), drinks (great beer selection and you have to try the Hooch) and service (Brandon, Nathan, Evelyn, Brandi - just to name a few)!
AMAZING! I had the club sandwich with Mac n cheese. Best Mac n cheese I've ever had!
J. Macklin's Grill in Coppell serves some of the best food I've ever eaten at any any restaurant and it's very convenient for us. Try It
Great Gilled cheese! The staff here is so polite. The craft cocktails aren't the best so that's my only song on their score. But seriously great food, atmosphere and staff. More...
Came here for a happy hour last Thursday with some coworkers. I ordered the jaywalker tacos and substituted the side of black beans with sweet potato fries. These were hands down some of the best tacos I have had in awhile. The combination of pulled chicken, jalapeno-cilantro aioli, pico, cotija, avocado and poblano slaw worked extremely well together. Three tacos come with an order which was a good size and very filling. Really enjoyed this place! More...
Absolutely fantastic shrimp and grits, mahi mahi tacos and bread pudding. Trust me. And the service from Brandy was wonderful too. We'll be back often!
This place has a great patio and plenty of food options. Also a great brunch offering with bottomless mimosas. I went on Father's Day and the wait for chicken and waffles was an hour and a half.
2nd time to visit, and both visits were exceptional. The Chicken and Waffles on the dinner menu (yes you can order it for brunch! ) is OUT OF THIS WORLD. The service is top notch. If you haven't eaten here yet, you are seriously missing out! They were slammed for Father's Day brunch today. Every table was filled and they had a wait. If there was a time for things to go wrong, today would be the day, but everything was executed perfectly. We sat near the kitchen, and every dish that came by looked incredible. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. There wasn't a stressed staff member to be found despite the heavy traffic. A++ in all regards, and we will definitely be back! More...
They are still rocking it with wonderful food and great service! We love this place!!!
I dig J Macks! Like what a Chilis used to be. Wide array of menu items and of all things I've had thus far, none have missed. Super casual and live patio entertainment. I like going here for an evening, have a drink, some food, and just enjoy. It's a very good diverse no frills hangout, said me. More...

Really good food with a local feel. Good local taps and great cocktails. Patio seating is very nice!
I've been driving past this place for almost 3 years on the way to work and finally decided to give the place a try. The recruiter I was with highly recommended it so I agreed to try it. After looking over the menu which had so many really good looking options, I decided to try the Meatloaf. The waiter told me he doesn't even like meatloaf but really likes it here. When it arrived it was covered with a unique sauce I have never seen before. It was absolutely amazing! The meatloaf itself was excellent. It wasn't soggy like some places serve. It was a bit on the edge of crispy but not dry. The sauce tastes a bit sweet with spicy also at the same time. It was really great! I will definitely be back to J Macklin's Grill soon to try the other items on the menu if I can force myself to not order that amazing meatloaf again! More...
They should probably have the Nike swoosh as a logo because you need to JUST DO IT! Went there on a Saturday for lunch. They have a very nice patio that was full of people. My wife and I were met by a friendly host that seated us. I had the Jake's 50/50. What's not to love about pulled pork, bacon, havarti with grilled onions and muchrooms on a soft, toasted roll. The sandwich was amazing. The shoestring fries were also quite good. My wife had the pulled pork tacos. She loved them and couldn't eat all of it. Our server was excellent and the overall environment pleasant. We will be back many more times. More...

I do love this place. The service is usually on point. Went this past weekend. Ordered queso, ran out of chips, and without asking the waiter brought us more. Sunday brunched here 3 of past 5 weeks. Brunch menu is awesome. I've yet to order the same thing twice and everything has been great. Executive Chef Scott is not only a fantastic chef but very personable too. Service has always been prompt and friendly. They are refilling your mimosa or asking if you need another round just as you start to think it. Food comes out quick even when busy. They had live music for this past Sunday brunch which was a nice touch. The duo performing were excellent and personable with the crowd. They stopped by and sat with us between their sets. Highly recommend this place for brunch as we've now become regulars. Tip for Sundays - Get there before 11 AM to beat the post-church crowds if you want a patio table. More...
Went to brunch here and it's now my new favorite spot! Service was great (thank you Allison) , food was absolutely the best I've had for brunch in some time (brunchiladas verde) and to top it off they offer bottomless mimosas! I had the brisket melt and could only finish half! The portions are huge which makes me wish they could do a half order for lunch the next time I go! They probably do! Anyways, this melt is soooooo good! The fried onions on it are the best. You must try! More...
Chicken and Waffles were amazing! Staff were very friendly and atmosphere was perfect. Enjoyed the experience.
We've tried multiple things in the menu, but our favorite has to be the State Club chicken tenders (an homage to The State Club in Denton). Add some cheese fries w/bacon and yummo!!! High marks also to the brisket sandwich, shrimp & grits, grilled cheese w/tomato soup and chicken & waffles. They're salads are also good, too! It's hard to go wrong at this place. The staff is always friendly and if you're a local to Coppell, you'll always see a friend or two there.... More...

I decided to treat myself to brunch after a long week at work so I stopped in. I pass it often but had never eaten there. I ordered bacon breakfast tacos and bottomless mimosas . My cup was never empty and we even chatted about movies with another waiter. Overall, great service and great food. More...
The food, service, and atmosphere is on point and always has been. Phenomenal brunch! Been coming for years and this place never disappoints! They just added the chorizo egg rolls and they might be the best thing I have ever had! It's a must try!
J'Macklin's is our favorite! Chef Scott comes up with the most amazing dishes (fish n'chips and salmon are my favorites) and there's something for everyone! The staff is very attentive and efficient and takes great care of us We brought some friends with us from another part of town and they were very impressed with the food and service! This place is the BEST. Our number one go to. The atmosphere is awesome, the food and drinks are terrific, and the waitresses are fantastic. Best place in coppell hands down.

We've been back and pleasantly surprised with the the service and quality of food. The service is much more attentive. The menu was updated and portions better reflect the price!
The service was great! We were seated promptly and the waitress gave us good food and drink recommendations. I'm a vegetarian so I got the avocado tacos, which were really good and filling! I would definitely recommend this place and make sure to order the hip chips for appetizers, you won't be disappointed! More...
This was my first time here with my friends. We were seated shortly after arriving on a Friday night. I ordered the Atlantic Salmon with green beans and a potato pancake. Super delicious! Waited about 10-15 minutes for our food. We also ordered brisket nachos as an appetizer. They delivered our meals first before delivering our appetizer which was a bummer. The server was nice and attentive. The only thing I would change is to allow for free substitutions. I wanted to substitute my potato pancake for tomato basil soup but I would have been charged extra for it. All in all this restaurant has great food, great service and well worth the money. More...
We came here on a Saturday for lunch and there was not wait and it was not too full. That was great because we had a fairly large party and were able to get a good table indoors. It was a nice day so I will note that the outdoor area was full. The brunch menu looked great and the service fantastic. For my entree, I got the country fried steak, which was huge!! The table oooohed and ahhhed when the dish came out and the big taste matched the big size. The breading was not too much like at some other places and the sides were well proportioned as well. The gravy was nice and thick and complemented the meal well. More...
Came during happy hour - $2 off beer and $4 off wine - but would like to try the muddled jalapeño margarita next time. Anna was an outstanding server - efficient and friendly! We had a meat and cheese board that was so well composed - couldn't believe that they had ripe raspberries and blackberries in the middle of winter! We also split the short ribs - think high end pot roast - very tasty. Have been before for sandwiches and burgers for lunch as well as for brunch, but first time for dinner. Great Coppell restaurant! First Yelp review for 2017! #1This is the place to go for a smorgasbord of varies food which includes burgers, steak, tacos, salads, and sandwiches. Coppell has some of the best little eateries. This is yet another one! This is the first day of the New Year and nobody wants to cook today. My kids have been going here for some time and this is the first visit for my husband and I. Really was a great pick! The restaurant has a bar area for those that don't feel like sitting at a table. They have daily happy hour and daily specials listed on the blackboards at the rear of the restaurant. The restaurant does have live music, but tonight was just not that night. I'm guessing that live music is a weekend event.I ordered the Bacon Bleu, the poblano bacon jam left a delicious burst of flavor in my mouth with every bite. It simply lingered, yum! The Bleu cheese was an additional flavor that really made this one of the most delicious burgers I have had in some time. (Burger was cooked medium) Fries were a little on the soggy side, lacked that crispy factor. My daughter had the Black Bean Veggie burger with the best cilantro aioli sauce. She too had fries that lacked in the wow factor. They need to bottle that cilantro aioli stuff, it's that good! I stole her sauce. My son had the French Dip sandwich with unfortunately soggy sweet potato fries. It had a lot of meat piled on it from what I could see. Hubby had the Cheddar burger with a salad. I think I got the best deal with my scrumptious burger. Service is genuinely spot on. Refills and busing of the tables is a huge pet peeve of mine. Keep the customers water filled and the tables clean. Our server did an excellent job of keeping up with both. This place is really loud, I'm sure its related to the many TV's that surround the dining area. Over all a great place to visit for a first date or just catching up with family and friends! More...
LOVE LOVE LOVE best brunch in town. This will be our go to place from now on.
Awesome place to eat. Love the brisket nachos. Will definitely be one of our regular stops specially for brunch.
My husband and I come here at least once a week for dinner & it's one of my favorite spots for girlfriend brunch. The food is delicious (chicken skillet. ..nom nom) and the service is amazing (Nick & Nate! Thank you!), and the atmosphere is warm & fun. 6 stars. More...
We've gone here a couple of times after a brutal day at Six Flags and have really enjoyed it both times. It's not close enough to make it a regular spot, but it's worth the jaunt off the highway. We've had burgers, sammies, specials, and great cocktails. The portions are nice sized and service has always been prompt and friendly. It's casual and has a great patio space that's perfect for kicking back with friends and some libations. More...
Yummy good... Chicken and waffles and the pumpkin pancakes!
One of the few restaurants in Coppell that is not a chain. Excellent service, and food. Very happy the fish and chips were added to the menu full time. Whoever works the fryer, really knows their job, as the chicken tenders are excellent. The Chef is very good and if restaurant is not overflowing will come talk to you about special orders Bar appears to be hopping, but that's not why we go there. Highly recommended. More...

I’m not even sure I could tell you which entree was my favorite because they were all that incredible. Although I’m pretty sure I want to eat the Short Ribs for my Christmas Eve dinner and I don’t think I’ve ever had salmon as incredible as Chef Hoffner’s Atlantic Salmon. Consistently excellent service and food. Our go-to place in Coppell for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner!
Can't say enough great things about this place. Great local beers on tap, good wine selection, creative cocktails including several variations of the mule. Had the buffalo chicken egg rolls which were unbelievable!! Great salads, sandwiches and even better service. Our server was knowledgeable about local beers and not too shy to make a recommendation. Even the music was awesome! We will be back. More...
I have been flirting with visiting this place for over a year and finally made the leap. First thing I noticed is that they had my favorite local beer (Peticolas) on tap, thats a great start. We ordered the Buffalo chicken egg rolls as an appetizer and yeah that was delicious. I had the crispy flounder and it was very good. I definitely recommend this place More...
Definitely an enjoyable and distinct spot in Coppell. A good break from all the fast food and pizza places around here, well for dinner at least. The staff is definitely upbeat and welcoming. The only thing I can say that could have been better was the attention to the food. I've had two dishes to where they slapped on too much butter or didn't leave it on the grill long enough to actually come out hot/warm. Still a fan of the restaurant and hope that others enjoy it as well. More...
Perfect portion, amazing pairing, exceptional quality. The flavor is superb.
Went here for a business lunch with a party of five. The menu sounded delicious making it hard to choose. Our food arrived super quick and piping hot for all five. The service was great as our waitress kept checking on us even though the place was crowded. We had dessert to go and it was delicious! Definitely would go again. Would not mind a happy hour here as the atmosphere seems very positive. More...
Came here because they have tv's and we wanted to watch the Giants vs Cubs playoff game. They happily switched a tv to the game for us. Great spot in Coppell! I've eaten here a number of for brunch and dinner as well. As far as location it's great! It's only a mile or two from my in-laws house which makes it very easy to get to. They space is laid out very nicely. They have a great patio with umbrella's for the sun and music on the weekends and some weekend. Both are plus's right there. Our last time there was for brunch so let's talk about that. We started off with spicy bacon Bloody Mary's. If you have not had one yet I would recommend them! They are absolutely delicious. They also have bottomless mimosas for $10 I believe which are equally as good. But how can you pass on bacon. :)We also started with some hip chips for the table. Basically some chips w/ a spicy ketchup. My wife and I slit the chicken and waffles. They come out a big portion So by this time they are perfect to not over eat. But the chicken was crispy and the waffles were cooked just right. All in all we had another great brunch here. I've been here for lunch as well as dinner but there is something about brunch that keeps me coming back. We'll definitely be back to J Mackin's something soon. CheersJustin More...
Long overdue review- it's a centerpiece in Coppell and I have never had anything that wasn't solid quality. Brunch is exceptional. Service is amazing - attentive, friendly and determined to get you exactly what you want and need. I've spent more hours than I can count at happy hour on the patio. Great for families, friends- lacks a little ambiance for couples/dates but hey, not if you've been married as long as I have. More...
Great food and enjoyed tomato basil soup. They should have more people on floor when they are busy for lunch. Overall would recommend this restaurant.

Service is really good, brisket nachos are a must try, and the bacon bleu burger was cooked perfectly. Looking forward to my next trip for work to visit this place!
Great service and tasty food. A very relaxed atmosphere. I can't imagine Coppell without this restaurant.
Great food and our server , Anna, was FANTASTIC!! She was the best!! Make sure to eat here and ask for Anna.
My husband and I love this restaurant. It is just the type of place that Coppell needed Nice atmosphere yet kid friendly and also has a bar area and large patio. It is well-priced and the staff is friendly. We eat here at least once a week, and have tried almost everything on the menu--all of it wonderful! The food is fresh and healthy--No processed ingredients. My favorite burger is the mushroom burger with goat cheese. Their regular fries are crispy,Even more so if you request them extra crispy. Great poblano pepper soup. All the salads are fresh with a lot of variety. They have a full bar and also have a delicious brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Give it a try. I'm sure you'll love it as much as we do! More...
I love the quality, selection and variety of the food. It's hands-down my favorite restaurant in the area!
Amazing. If you ever want a prvate dinner party for 4, the chef makes you a special menu based on your preferences. There were not many available dates but food was sooo good. Regular menu is also very good.
Stumbled across this place one Sunday afternoon after looking for a new brunch place. It has cozy and intimate atmosphere but not cramped or small by any means. They had a live musician playing - such a fun touch. Our server was very friendly and attentive and answered all our questions. My boyfriend and I both got the Texan scrambler with a pancake. Everything was so delicious. We loved it all. The pancake and skillet potatoes were my fave. We will definitely come back and try the dinner menu soon! More...
Great food and the staff was so attentive and nice! Great atmosphere inside and live music on the patio with misters for those warm evenings. Great find thanks to Yelp!
JMaclins has great food, service and music, consistantly!!! Ched Hoffer always put does himself on the menu. Brunch on tbe patio is perfection
Better than expected. I got the Dr. Pepper short ribs everyone raves about but was kinda disappointed and though they were a little boring. Everything else was great though. The caesar salad was one of the best I had. Decent prices and service. I'd go back. More...
This restaurant really has it going on and I have to congratulate the wonderful service from Adrian Chavon. Whether he is working behind the bar or as a server, he is very attentive, makes wonderful recommendations and is the epitome of what a restaurant should have as staff. He recommends the Jakes 50/50, the Jaywalker tacos (better than most taco shops), and the chicken and waffles. I had them all and they all have a J Macklins spin that makes them special. The tacos have delicious seasoned meat (had the chicken) and is stuffed to perfection. They have "Hip Chips" spicy potato chips and ketchup. The 50/50 is like perfectly seasoned pulled pork with bacon and caramelized onions with a bit of Sriracha that makes it pop. I would recommend this place to anyone...they even have awesome salads for the faint at heart!!! You can tell the chef really tries and gets it right! More...
I came in for their Sunday brunch with the wife and kids, and loved it from the first moment. We were greeted at the door by two friendly staff members. My kids were given high-fives and a menu with crayons. The little ones were all smiles. Off to a good start! The kids menu had all the basics covered; mac n' cheese, burgers, pizza and chicken fingers, etc. both of kids cleaned their plates. Life is good! The wifey and I decided to split a few things, here's what I thought....Holy Crepe! The Breakfast Crepes were very tender, not too spongy or chewy. They were filled yogurt, strawberries, blueberry and banana, and topped with just the right amount of granola for a welcomed bit of crunch. The Chicken and Waffles blow away the ones from Roscoe's, with the perfect balance of sweet, salty, juicy, crunchy fantasticness. I cannot rave enough about the ShrimpAnd Grits. By far, the best I've had outside of NOLA. The grits were creamy, with a nice bit of heat, and the shrimp were spicy and grilled to perfection. I'm serious, I'd bathe in those grits if I could! Next up was the Brunchillada's, my personal favorite of the day. Enchiladas filled with egg and cheese, topped with a heavenly spicy tomatillo sauce and fresh avocado, then drizzled with queso blanco. It came with very flavorful black beans, but it was all about that tomatillo sauce for me. Tangy, spicy and the perfect fit with the Bacon Bloody Mary.Chef Scott took time out of the busy brunch to stop by all the tables, checking to make sure everyone was happy. You could tell by all the laughing and smiles that they were. We most certainly were! It's not often easy going out to eat with 4 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old kids, but J Macklin's made me glad I did! If you love pancakes like your grandmother cooks them then you'll love this place! They also have great French Toast...if you can't tell by now I love breakfast! Basically what I'm saying is you have to try their brunch but the only problem is they only serve it Saturday and Sunday but it's worth the wait.Okay so I had to take a star away because this place is inconsistent. I mean there were a few times when their pancakes were burnt and potatoes were overcooked...which was obvious but instead of remaking them they just flipped them over as if I wouldn't notice. This happened at least three times. More...
This place is the best! Food is delicious. It is the gem of Coppell.
Scallops were wonderful! Not a lot of food for $22 plus tip, but enjoyed it anyway. They accommodated a party of about 25 people, but only 1 server. Should have had 2 servers. So it was slow, but food was really good and for 1 server...not too bad. More...
Pretty good find in Coppell. Started off with chips and queso and had the chicken and waffles. Very pleased with both.

This is my local go to. The wait staff is like family. Love them!
This place is fantastic.Service- Amazing a few other restaurants should come shop your people and get an idea for what customer service/hospitality is. Great recommendations from all the staff I've worked with. Food- I have eaten probably everything on the breakfast menu and I have to say wow there is nothing that isn't amazing. I never order the same thing repeatedly when I go out to eat somewhere but the shrimp and grits is probably going to change that for me.Drinks- I have never had the same alcoholic drinks there. Each time the staff recommends something else that I enjoy.*I am just putting this out randomly also. A few people commented on the noise. I have a newborn baby we take to the patio and he sleeps throughout the whole lunch usually. More...
I went with friends for brunch!I had bottomless mimosas for $14 and well worth it! I ordered a black bean burger with an egg and it was delicious and worth every penny! My friends ordered sandwiches- my friend advised the bbq sandwich was too sweet but still enjoyed it. If I could change one thing it would be the serving of the French fries. There were maybe 10 fries on the plate. Besides that, delicious food, nice cozy corner, great service! I will definitely be coming back :) More...

Anything on this menu, with a side of the sweet potato fries, ranks as one of my favorite lunches! The location is wonderful & I appreciate their support of Town Center Elementary and the community!
I have dined at this restaurant many times and it is one of my favorite brunch spots. The food is great and the drinks are always fantastic! Drinks + Patio = Win! The staff is also very friendly. I have only had lunch/dinner at this restaurant a few times, but I love that they sometimes have live music on the patio (Thur-Sat evenings). Even though the patio is facing the street, I don't recall ever having an issue with street noise. There have been times that I noticed it was louder inside the restaurant than outside on the patio! Pros and cons breakdown:PROS:-THE FOOD: I ordered the Jaywalker which is pulled chicken tacos (on corn tortillas instead of flour) and was NOT disappointed. The tacos have a mix of coleslaw, Granny Smith apples, and enough spicy to combat the sweet and tangy flavors. The corn tortillas were fresh and homemade. Everything tastes fresh!-THE PORTIONS: plenty of food for either lunch or dinner. My meal was three tacos with one side. I chose the cup of fruit which had strawberries, grapes and pineapple-- more than just melons which I appreciate! -THE SERVICE: from the second I walked in the door, to the moment I left I felt appreciated and well taken care of. We got our food in about 10 minutes!-THE PATIO/ATMOSPHERE: great dining options both inside and out. Comfortable booths, tables or patio seating.CONS:-MAYBE TOO GOOD OF SERVICE: my iced tea was refilled after only 2 sips which was a little excessive.-NOISE LEVEL: quite loud. I wouldn't recommend coming here on a date unless you sit at the bar or in a corner booth. More...
My husband have eaten here several times and absolutely love it. The wait staff is amazing and very attentive. We went for brunch 2/28 and highly recommend Nick! He was fantastic and we really enjoyed our meals. The only reason why I'm not giving 5 stars is because on my first visit I ordered the scallop dinner. It was a very small portion for the price(3 sea scallops with a side of asparagus). I'd suggest adding a starch and a salad to make it more of a complete meal. An additional scallop would be nice too. It was delicious, but just not very filling. This has become one of our favorite local spots and we love that it is family friendly. More...
Anna is by far the best server we've had at J Macklins. She always takes care of us. We always request her, and we are a rowdy bunch. She never showed any signs of irritation or annoyance. We will come back here strictly because of Anna. Oh, and the food was great too! More...
I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed my experience here. I work nearby an always pass this place coming to work. I never stopped in because I didn't have an opportunity to until one day. My coworker was leaving us and we had happy hour here for her going away. I had a burger and it was delightful. The happy hour drinks were $5 for a frozen flavored margarita. I had two of those. We stayed for a good four hours and just talked. We had a fun time! service was on point also. It was dinner time and the place had a good amount of people. More...
Great weekend brunch every time. Very attentive waitstaff. Chandler does a great job, sit in his section.
Great restaurant. I like that they change the menu up every once in awhile. Busy at lunch, get there before 12p.
Quite possibly the best breakfast I've ever had. That's a big statement coming from me as I could eat breakfast for every meal. I got the BBQ pulled pork hash, it had two sunny side up eggs, on top of brisket that was on top of scalloped potatoes. Need. I. Say. More. ALSO ... I guess I do need to say more, the Beignet's for a breakfast appetizer ... yes. I am now sticking to a GF diet, so unfortunately I only had them once, but they are PERFECT.Service has always been really great here as well. Very friendly and they are quick to seat you. It's never too crowded especially for weekend brunches, the coffee is great, and so are all of their morning cocktails. For me it's a quick bike-ride from the house, for others it may not be, but I seriously believe that this is one of the best spots in the Dallas metro area. More...

Great food, great service! The mac n cheese was the best!
Jakes 50/50! Slow roasted pulled pork, smoked bacon, mushrooms, caramelized onions, Havarti, and Sriracha mayo. Wow! Awesome flavor, tender and great bread. Awesome!
Very disappointed. My father in law tried a gyros, tasted more like a Costco special. My wife's black and blue was undercooked and underwhelming. Our waitress was really wonderful but it couldn't overcome the poor meal. More...
Food always great and without a long wait given the crowd. Best non-chain option in Coppell for lunch in my opinion.Mahi Mahi Tacos are really good.
Still a favorite. Consistently great service and food. They serve local breweries which is always a plus.
Food is always great here. The chicken tenders are out of this world. I also enjoyed the braised short ribs - tasted like Moms home cookin! The only thing I don't like about this place is the atmosphere. Holy kids. It's unfortunate because it's one of the better restaurants in the area, but you can't enjoy a meal here without a screaming 5 year old. Welcome to Coppell. I'd come more often if they had a larger bar area. More...
Soups are incredible, best I've had. I've had the smoked brisket sandwich, the Cuban, the burgers, everything is fresh and incredibly flavorful. The service is always on point but Brandi is far and away the best. When she recommends something you can count on it being great. She also knows how to take care of her customers and make your meal very enjoyable. With her service and the food, you can't go wrong.New menu is fantastic. Blackened fish is outstanding. I was lucky enough to find Brandi again and she did not disappoint. Cont recommend the restaurant or Brandi enough. More...
Upscale atmosphere and good food. Would recommend for lunch with coworkers. I got the grilled cheese and it was top notch!
I've eaten here numerous times because I work in the area. It's consistently tasty with good service, at a good price. I'm obsessed with the Spinach & Goat Salad, and most of the appetizer are super delicious. More...
Love this restaurant. They had the best food (I think) at the Taste of Texas and I have been telling my friends about it since. Going there again very soon.
This was our 3rd time here and it was excellent! Both food and service were awesome. Alcoholic drinks were okay but not great. However, food came out quickly and service was top notch. I will be back! More...
We came here for a celebration brunch and it was just fantastic! The food was really good and you could either order off the brunch menu or lunch, so there were lots of options! I had the waffles with eggs and bacon and other people in our party had chicken and waffles, omelets, burgers or shrimp and grits. Everyone loved their food. Food was cooked to order and had gluten free options! We will come back again whenever we are in town again! Also the service was awesome, we had a table of about 20 and were in and out in about an hour and a half! We were not rushed or waiting long for our food!Loved this place and experience, a must go to place to eat!! More...
Great place for a date night! Staff is extremely friendly and the food is delicious!
Came here with my grandparents for lunch and they had many great options! Ordered an ahi tuna sandwich and the greek salad to share. Felt very comforted and satisfied with that. My only complaint is that the wait staff seemed confused and didn't know what we had ordered and not all the food came out at the same time. My only complaint. Also seated immediately on a Monday at 1230p. :) Will definitely return. More...
We have been here at least 5 times with this time being the most lackluster. That's okay, though, you can't always be on point. Their chicken and waffles is absolutely amazing and will blow your mind. Today though, I had the chicken fried steak just to switch it up. Very large portion. It was very flavorful and the meat was probably the most tender I have ever experienced in Texas. And I've been to my fair share of "Best Chicken Fried Steak in Texas" places. I wouldn't rank it up there, but it won't disappoint either. The spicy Bloody Mary is great and will definitely wake you up with a very interesting twist to it. I've had it multiple times and it is consistent and flavorful. Lots of depth and a variety of favors going on for sure.Girlfriend usually goes with some kind of mule they have (blackberry?) and she is never disappointed, either. The waitress this time was very friendly but I experienced my water not being refilled this time around, which was strange. The girlfriend said that her dish had a burnt bun on it too. So, while not a deal breaker it was definitely our worst experience here.Being able to go somewhere and have a consistently good experience means a lot. In the past we have always gotten this from here. Let's hope this visit was an anomaly. We will definitely be back when we are in the area. More...
The atmosphere, the food and the staff all ROCK! Keep doin what yer doin cause it's always perfection!!! And the drinks... Oh yeah!
The only thing that's keeping this place from being 5 star is the weird presentation if some dishes. For example, this morning I had huevos rancheros and it was served all in 1 bowl. Instead of the normal way this is usually served, with tortillas, beans, and eggs all separate. The j. Macklins interpretation of huevos rancheros meal has a foundation of bean water, beans, then tortillas, then eggs, then cheese, then salsa. They need to change this and all other meals that are served as a single bowl of slop.Good food but poor presentation on about 1/3 of the items on the menu. Chicken Tenders!!!!! Yum Yum. And yes they are just like The State Club. Honey mustard too. Everybody so nice here. Enjoyed my dinner. Sat at the bar. Next time the patio. More...
Solid food every time. The atmosphere is always nice. Local beers are on tap. I would say a solid lunch spot
I enjoy their food selections and they are very attentive. A bit pricey but enjoy it. I use their catering service often and the food and service are great. Their bar drinks are a great variety but again a touch pricey. Like that it is close to home. More...
First time here. Food is worth every penny and had excellent service from Sarah! She never let my mimosa get empty. This might just be our new Sunday brunch hangout.
We arrive close to opening and the atmosphere here is so welcoming. The service was the cherry on top to the great food! I had a sweet tea, breakfast tacos with a side of potatoes all for about $15! I have no complaints and will definitely come back to try the dinner chicken and waffles. See you soon J. Mack! More...
This is a neighborhood favorite of mine. The chicken and waffles are awesome! We had Brandi as our waitress and she was probably one of if not the best waitress I've had in a long long time. She was awesome! I've had the brisket nachos, the cuban, chicken and waffles and all of the dishes were excellent. I would highly recommend this place. It has a great little patio that gets packed on nights and weekends so come early. More...
I have been to a lot of breakfast places and this by far is the best!!!! We loved the never ending mimosas and the brunchilada is to die for!! Definitely coming back -
Great atmosphere and amazing food! Unique enough for those who like to branch out, yet classic enough for the picky eater. It comes highly recommended.
My wife and I go here once a week. We just moved to town a few months ago and have tried out numerous local restaurants. This one BY FAR is the best one we have experienced yet! The best server there is Lacie and our favorite Bartender Brent always makes sure we have an amazing experience. They change up their weekly specials to bring in awesome new flavorful items that never disappoint! Their Mac and cheese is the best, and all of their entrees have amazing flavor and all are wonderful! We will continue to always keep going back to our local favorite! More...
The brunch food is delicious! Especially the jalapeño cheese grits! The bottomless mimosas are a great deal and the overall ambience is very family friendly and inviting! Nathan makes delicious bloody Mary's that can be nice and spicy or according to your taste! I'm there quite often on Saturday and Sunday! Check them out! More...
The wife and I took a Sunday brunch trip to to J. Mac's this past weekend. She loves it when I say 'brunch." Our first trip here and I was very impressed. We walked in and found a table in the bar, no problem. The view out was great and the televisions were posted well to cover the PGA Championship from all angles. Service was prompt and polite. The menu offered plenty of fancy and normal guy meals. Drinks options weren't an issue either. When we got out food, it was hot and fresh. My wife and I both received large portions that tasted great. The word of the day, savory. We checked out quick and had plenty left for a good tip. The wife picked a good one. That's two in a row. More...
Great brunch, country potatoes are sinfully good and the cheese grits are the best we have ever had.Plus they make a mean spicy Bloody Mary.
New to the area and decided to try J Macklins. We were not disappointed. Split the hummus and chicken & waffles. Food and service were excellent. Nice to have something of this caliber in north Texas without driving into Dallas! More...
My boyfriend and I love this place!! So tasty and always good service. The bourbon glazed pork chop was delicious.
This place has improved considerably. Looks like they have a full time chef now instead of just line cooks. The service has improved a lot also. The one thing that I know they could improve on is taking the shells off of the shrimp tails. As is, makes a messy eating because they are laying on a bed of spicy, cheesy grits. Also, the tails are edible and I hate wasting them. I really do like having a sunny side up egg on top which can make the shrimp messier. This has become my most favorite restaurant/bar in the area. Thank you Exec Chef Scott! Brunch was amazing. This will forever be me and my loves weekend brunch spot. Oh and ask for Maygen as your server she's beyond amazing. Coppell's finest since 2010.
The pancakes and french toast are delicious! Great breakfast spot. Recommend you try it out.
