I came here for dinner and it was filling and delicious! For apps we enjoyed the chip and queso - can you go wrong with chips and queso? Never haha. I enjoyed the steak with mushrooms and gravy with a side of asparagus and mashed potatoes. The meat was flavorful and cooked perfectly how I like it. My date enjoyed the salmon with rice and green beans. The gravy that covered the salmon was delicious!  For dessert, we enjoyed the crème brûlée - it's our favorite dessert and it was a hit! A really great midweek neighborhood place to stop by and hang out with friends. The food is always of the consistently high-quality and the service is super fast. I really like how they manage their entire restaurant to accommodate busy times without giving up on service. They have a blackberry margarita that is to die for. This place is always so good but one of those places you sleep on because of all the other options in the area. Everything I've had here has been delicious whether it be a regular menu item or a special. The variety can't be beat when it comes to the specials and the staff is always extremely friendly. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Coppell. I must admit I am absolutely addicted to their chicken and waffles. It is a great combination of sweet salty spicy. It is a must try!!! I also greatly enjoy their barbacoa nachos they are very generous and every nacho has something on it! It also had a drizzle of barbecue sauce which I believe greatly compliments the cheese and meat! From the Austin area. I've been down here for work for about two weeks... this place has been amazing. Awesome food, awesome wine and awesome customer service. Shout out to Anna the bartender... she is amazing! They were pretty busy for a Wednesday but she did great. I've been at other places and have had horrible service (Chill, BJ's Restaurant and Movie Studio Grill). None of those places were as busy as here. A great Friday night dinner. We will definitely be back. Our server Breanna was friendly and attentive. We had the queso, a salad, a bacon avocado something or other sandwich, and the Dr Pepper short ribs-which were awesome! !! We had the flatbread appetizer, beef tenderloin and salmon entree's. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. The menu selection is fairly limited. Our meal with 3 beers was $80 excluding tip, a bit expensive but worth the expense. Highly recommend the blood and honey beer. Could have polished off a keg of that! J. Macklin's Grill is curiously tucked away in a strip center that should otherwise be occupied by a family dentistry or an optometrist's office. Parking in the front can be sparse, so you can usually find me in the back. The buffalo eggrolls are probably my go to appetizer, but the fried pickles are also well done, especially when consuming a profusion of beer. The burgers, chicken skillet, and chicken fried steak are all done nicely, I usually opt for their fries versus other sides as they are executed well and typically come out hot. Though really most of their dishes are commendable, and I've never tried anything there on the rotating menu and or permanent menu that I didn't care for. I do wish they'd bring back the chicken fried steak they used to have with pico de gallo, avocados, and some sort of Texican inspired gravy. Â While I can't remember the name, it was very tasty. There was also a fried fish sandwich that was flavorous, that I also wish would make a reappearance. Â I really like J. Macklin's, and really the only thing stopping me from giving them 5 stars is their beer and wine selection. The wine section is loaded with common Californian options, which aren't bad, but are too pedestrian and there are much better imports for less (this is strictly my opinion). Also their relevant selection of draft beers is minimal, which I can't really blame them for, however it would be nice to see them offer some of the more unique local beers, perhaps some of True Vine's offerings. Overall one of my absolute favorite places to visit in Coppell. Though please watch your speed if you visit as Denton Tap is very actively monitored. More...

Went in for a quick dinner on a Friday night. It wasn't busy at all. I've gone for happy hour and it was people hanging out of the door. I'd never eaten dinner there before so it was a must. This is the Best place to eat in Coppell Tx. Period I loveeeeee J.Mac for brunch but their dinner menu is Bomb also. The food is always great, but I wanted to give a shoutout to the crew. We were eating outside on a sunny day, when a freak storm hit. Things were flying everywhere and the power was coming in and out. A large branch fell on a woman's car and everyone's food was blown away. The staff was incredibly professional and replaced our food, helped keep everyone to safety, and carried on. It was incredible to see. The manager even held a umbrella to help my friend's baby to his car when we had finished. It was really inspiring how the whole situation was handled, I really can't praise them enough! Holy Crap, so good!! So happy I stumbled upon this little hidden gem. One of the best taco plates I've ever had... and I eat a lot of tacos! ! I live in Lewisvile and enjoy a few restaurants surrounding my house, however, none as much as I enjoyed J. Macklins! We stumbled upon the place one Saturday afternoon and decided to stop by for a drink to chat and decide what we were going to do with the rest of our evening. We were greeted with a smile and ended up sitting at the bar. The bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable - I ended up having a Blackberry Mule- it was amazing and fresh and just the perfect combo of flavor | alcohol! To make a long story short, we ended up staying and having an early dinner!! It is the perfect combination of casual & upscale- from the hostess to the serving staff and management, we really enjoyed our time and have been back several times with our families!
