We asked Bakery La Dolce Vita to bake 3 cakes for my parent's 60th Anniversary celebration. All three cakes were absolutely great! One was a 12" chocolate cake with custard and fresh strawberry filling, the second one was a 10" carrot cake with cream cheese filling and the third one was an 8" coconut cake with coconut filling. Though all three were well received but the coconut and carrot cakes were the stars with hardly any being left. I called all around Raleigh trying to find a bakery that did Lobster Tails as a surprise for my wife who is from NJ. This was the only place I could find that did. The friendly baker/owner put 2 different types of filling in them for me when mentioned she was looking for a particular type of filling that I could not give him the name of. I was also surprised to find that they had some gluten free items, so I got an individual cheese cake for my teenage daughter who has Celiacs.Both the Lobster Tails and the gluten free cheese cake were wonderful and we will be going back again. Have had Italian pastries from NY, Italy. The sfogliatelli, cookies, meat pie and semolina bread were the best! My husband and I are new to the area and he was in search of semolina bread. Where do I begin. I went to this place because I no longer have family left that makes the Italian cookies that I grew up loving. It is a dying trade mostly everywhere but not here. The cookies are just like my family used make (in fact they are even better that my families). The family that owns and runs the bakery treats you just like a traditional Italian family does. I was so excited to find this place. I love Italian fig cookies and fresh cannoli but could only find them in Boston or New York. I picked up several items and all was delicious. They carry lots of authentic Italian pastries and make custom items, too (wedding and other cakes, for instance). My only complaint is where they are located. I drove all the way to Rolesville from Cary, and I'll do it again. I just hope they will open a place in downtown Raleigh or Cary sometime in the near future. More...

Large variety of baked goods and the owners are EXTREMELY friendly - even when out and about in the community.
