The atmosphere of It's Greek To Me took me away to a simple Grecian village right in the heart of Minneapolis. It truly felt like a little getaway just blocks from home. From the start I knew I was in for a treat. We walked to the patio, passed a sample table of bread and olive oil, which I immediately snatched before moving further. The olive oil was delectable. So delectable I sipped it like a fine wine. The patio was simply lovely, as we waited for a table we lounged on the couches and listened to the fountain trickle and traditional music, sipping Grecian beers. A beautiful Grecian family sat in the corner intimidating me with their looks but comforting me all at the same time. The meal was wonderful. It was a tough choice to narrow down to a few options for appetizers but we ended up choosing the Dolmades (AMAZING), the Htipiti Hot Feta Cheese Spread (DELECTABLE) and the Flaming Saganaki (OPA!). We also were fortunate enough to receive a vat of the sippable olive oil for the leftover pita. For my main meal I chose the traditional greek salad- Horiatiki Village Salad. It was absolutely splendid. I love the hardy vegetables tossed together with the absence of a leafy green. I came in very hungry and left very very full (physically and emotionally). In the end, the price point was great, everyone loved their meals, one friend had a Lamb Gyro and the meat was perfection. After we paid and began to head out I saw a beautiful slice of pound cake through the bakery chest. I needed it. Then and there. The hostess affirmed my desires and I walked out with the most amazing Lemon Pound Cake I have every sunk my teeth into. Again, the atmosphere was truly captivating and the experience was an excellent lead in to a late night of million dollar swings on the green. Overall the place is very nice inside and the patio is great. The food my wife and daughter ordered were done very well. My gyro on the other hand was very lacking. The meat was very, very dry and hard. When I brought this to the attention of the server he just shrugged it off. Also, the saganaki was scant in size and it too was over cooked, being melted and runny instead of fried to softness. More...

Start with the basics, the restaurant is clean and comfortable. I wanted to sit outside as it looks like I imagine a small village cafe might look in Greece, but it was raining and actually a little cold for this time of year. I will admit, the service to order the drinks was a little slow, and even slower to receive them, but I think the waiter was new, so no big deal. For the appetizers we ordered the spanakopita, it was amazing, the spinach was not to thick, not to thin. Many times, they will also use to much filo which I am not a fan of, but they seemed to have found the perfect balance. We also ordered the htipiti spicy spread, (it did have a little kick to it) - if you like spicy feta spreads, you will like it. I would probably order both again unless I wanted to try something different. I opted for the village salad. I have always loved the Greek salad dressing here, and this was no exception. Most people like the creaming dressings, but I prefer the oil / vinegar base, or whatever they use, it tops the dressing you get at other Mediterranean restaurants in town. The tomatoes and onions were ripe and well seasoned. For my main course, I decided to not do my usually meat and potatoes, so I had the moussaka and potatoes. Not sure what the sauce was made of but it was light enough where it did not distract from the flavor of the food. Overall, a pleasant experience. The cook came out and checked with our table (and others), and seemed to really care about our experience. I can hardly wait to use the outside deck. More...

Incredibly good food. This place takes Greek food to a level I’ve never had before. We ate the lamb shank and dolmades. The lamb was perfectly tender and rich in flavor and the sauce is something incredible. The dolmades... I had no idea stuffed grape leaves could be that good. And the lemon sauce it’s in is fantastic. Service is excellent too.The only thing I would fault the restaurant on is the 4% surcharge tacked on with various excuses why it’s being charged. Adding that sort of “gotcha” hidden cost on to the bill at the end of the meal is unacceptable. You’re a business. Keep your financial complaints to yourself and include the costs of doing business in the prices seen on the menu. More...

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING Greek food! The saganaki, dolmades, spanakopita, and avegolemeno were even better than homemade(and that is saying a lot! ) We tried a variety of appetizers and entrees around our table and all were exquisite. The decor and seating is charming and fun. The staff was friendly, attentive and fast. Reservations are recommended, especially during typical eating times. Highly recommend, you can't go wrong here! From the moment we arrived greeted with warm smiles & welcoming, candle lit atmosphere. Menu options, service, taste & presentation all 5 stars in our book! Make sure to save room for the desert! Lemon cake was beyond! The market was a fun added addition to our culinary experience! Can’t wait to brew up the Greek tea & my wife loves the lotion & body wash! Thank you for a wonderful evening had by all! Will definitely be back! More...

This is the go to place to take company for a more upscale dinner. When you sit on the patio in the summer it almost feels like you’re in Greece. Their food is outstanding and has tons of authentic Greek offerings. The spanakopita here is top notch, I would buy it every day if they had a to go window. More...

I love It's Greek to Me!! I cannot say enough praise for this place! They literally have the best patio in the city--it's gorgeous, large, and secluded. There's a bar and fountain out there as well. But the food--it's so fresh and delicious. You can see the quality and care in every dish. The lamb is elevated with a beautiful lemon herb sauce, the salads are bright, and the cocktails clever. And then there is the customer service--amazing and consistent! The other day I accidentally spilled something on my shirt and my waiter Nick brought be club soda and a washcloth before I could even ask. Nic and Athena, the owners, are amazing people--it feels like you are being welcomed into their home. More...

I ordered for delivery through Postmates and commented on my order to the restaurant that, if possible, I’d like extra tzatziki sauce on the side of my gyro. I received my order super excited as I had been craving a gyro for days, I find that there has been no extra sauce on the side but also to my disappointment that the gyro had to sauce at all !! The meat was delicious but very disappointed that my favorite part of the meal was missing! No sauce what so ever and and a very sad customer. I’ll try it again but instead without delivery since I waited and paid the fees just to have my Order wrong. More...

Absolutely incredible experience here. The staff was polished and so kind. The food was by far the best I have had in Minneapolis. I came last Thursday and sat on the patio. It was beautiful and they even had a projector going at night with videos of Greece. I had the caffetini cocktail which I loved. And then I had the broiled octopus and lamb shank for dinner it was so delicious and well seasoned. I recommend to all!! I came with my friends and it was the perfect place to drink and relax. WOW. I have been coming here for years with my family, and I have to say it has only been improving. I came here last night with my fiancé for the first time in a while, and I saw a drastic increase in ambiance, food quality, and cocktails! I decided to venture out beyond my normal gyro platter order and got the whole fish(can’t remember the name, but it was a special) and i’m SO glad I did! My fiancé got the rack of lamb and loved it. I already made a reservation to come back with my friends, crossing my fingers for good weather so we can sit on the adorable patio! More...

This restruant provides really unique and delicious greek food. It is certainly the best greek restruant in the St. Paul area. The place is always spotless and has a very nice atmosphere, with beautifully set tables, candles, and lighting. It has a beautiful outdoor patio where you can relax in the summer or spring. The patio has some beautiful flowers and a very nice fountain as a centerpiece. The food is fantastic. The best item, in my opinion, is the mousaka. They always cook it perfectly, and it is so flavorful. The broiled octopus is a very flavorful and unique item, but they overcooked it a bit the first time I tried it. For desert, check out the Lemon Cake or Baklava. It has just the right amount of sweetness, and both items are very satisfying. The service is usually good, but their is often a wait. Workers are always friendly to us, which is a bonus. In addition, this restruant has a fun city atmosphere.Definitely worth your time! More...
