InTown Craftsman just finished my "warranty" job. I put warranty I quoted because basically they have no almost fixed what they messed up.
They had a deck job for me - just added stairs. The work began great. There were some delays and lack of communication but I figured they were busy. Then the work started and like I said was going fine. However once the initial pieces for the stairs were put in and the finishing work was in progress the guy who was working on the deck cut corners I. Every way and had to redo so much. They had extra posts so instead of continuing to space them evenly they spaced them closer together to use them all. The gate at the top of the stairs was and is still a bit crooked. Because it was so off in the beginning it wouldn't close so instead of rebuilding the gate he just started sanding down my existing post. Bad idea as I had them replace the post and fix the gate. Then to do this instead of removing the old post he cut the old post and screwed the new one on top. With I had them come fix. Everything was good enough. And then the complaints of how much the job was costing them. And I could not care less. If it was down right the first time it would take less time. Also the wood they used is crap.

I had another company scheduled to come out to help me figure out how to best fix my leaky roof and they were a no show! The next day I called Russ Melton and within a few hours Deb from Intown Roofing contacted me via text and voicemail and Carlos was at my house that very same afternoon at a time that was convenient for me. The problem with the roof was a bit more than a patch job so the work was completed on another day - again at a convenient time for me. My neighbor who was home told me he was watching them do the work and said, "They definitely did it right." Chris did a fantastic job rebuilding and sealing the cabinet base under my kitchen sink. The reason for the project was to seal as many cracks & holes in the wall as possible to reduce cockroach access to my home from my downstairs neighbors.
So, careful and detailed work was extremely important, because cockroaches can get through the tiniest of cracks. Chris was patient with my obessive checking of his work, and he used a ton of caulk. Things are very well sealed now; it's been 3 months, and my cockroach problem has disappeared, which shows how thorough he was. He also had to solve a problem that popped up with my water shutoff valve, and he listened carefully to my ideas and implemented the solution wonderfully.
The only trouble I had was minor, and involved scheduling: I told the office about a constraint on my schedule that Chris didn't seem to know about on the day of the work. I (eventually!) mentioned it to him directly, which I should have done when he first arrived, and he cleaned up quickly and left promptly. However, I do wish the constraint had been communicated effectively without my intervention.
The quality of work was fantastic, and I absolutely will hire Intown Craftsmen again. Working with them was the best handyman experience I've ever had.

I had been trying to "build" a desk for a long time (and by build I mean find someone that could secure two table tops to a storage bin and 2 legs). I came across Intown Craftsmen on Angie's list and after reading a few good reviews, I decided to give them a call and see if they'd be able to help me out. Once I explained my project to Deb, she told me that it was definitely something that they could assist with. I really enjoyed working with Deb because she was really patient and listened carefully to what I wanted. She was also great at being clear and transparent about estimated costs as she knew we were working on a tight budget. After initially speaking to her, just a few days later I had 2 handymen come to my home and assemble my desk. They were able to do it in less than an hour and were extremely professional and friendly. Long story - I would absolutely recommend them and would hire them again! More...

I was sitting at my kitchen table for dinner with my family when I felt a drop of water hit my shoulder. At first, I assumed it was one of my daughters transforming her dinner into a projectile, but it turned out to be something much more concerning--a leaking skylight. I called my friend that had recently told me how happy he was with some work he had done at his house on a water damaged bedroom. He recommended Intown Craftsman and I called them that very night. I received a response the next morning, a phone call from Russ Melton. He assured me a member of the team would arrive soon with an estimate and even invited me to call him personally if I didn't hear from the team soon. There was no need, I received an email and a call later that day. Russ showed up the next day and provided an estimate for the project. While I had him there, I showed him some other issues with the house that had been on my "to-fix list" and he provided an estimate for those projects as well. The cost was exactly what I expected, and I gave him the go ahead to schedule workers ASAP. They came within a few days, even though it was all happening around the Thanksgiving holiday. Jose and another roofer (sorry, I didn't catch his name) showed up early for the appointment but waited out front until the appointed time. They were courteous, kind (even to my very excited dog), and had the problem fixed in no time. They even installed additional flashing to the second skylight (which hadn't yet started leaking) just as a precaution, free of charge. The office staff were just as kind and professional as the roofers. I worked with Deb Burris who helped me with billing and scheduling. The interface for billing was simple, the contracts and estimates were clear and easy to understand, and she was very knowledgeable and responsive over texts, emails and calls.
