These guys are a class act! I've been working out with Jamie since he joined the Innovative team. Jamie has been instrumental in teaching me the fundamentals of a wide range of exercises. From deadlifts to squats, Olympic lifting, free weights, and mobility exercises, Jamie has been an excellent coach.I've worked out with a variety of trainers, but of them all, only Jamie has helped me to correct many of the exercises I'd been doing wrong for years! He's also helped me realize the importance of stretching and mobility exercises to reduce the risk of injury and soreness. Aside from being a fantastic coach, Jamie is also a great guy. Jamie is an amazing personal trainer, and I’ve really enjoyed working with him. When it came to strength training, I was an absolute beginner coping with a prior knee and back injury. Jamie was patient, knowledgeable and encouraging. Jamie did a great job of customizing workouts and making sure workouts were never boring. I have seen great results. I can't shout my praises high enough for JAMIE! He has been so great to work with and has really helped me with strength and corrective exercises. I came in already with a good level of fitness but wanted to specifically work on my shoulder and upper body strength. Jamie has quickly been able to see the areas that I need to develop create fun sessions where I leave feeling accomplished and like I have a better understanding of my body.The way he cues and explains the various movements is what really sets him apart from any other trainer I have worked with. He makes sure I understand what muscle groups we are working, WHY and how to do it all safely/effectively. I have trained with Jamie Maguire for over seven months, and would highly recommend him. In addition to providing detailed full workout routines, he also taught me the main powerlifts, emphasizing proper form and control. He helped me become both stronger and more flexible. Jamie is exceptionally knowledgable about physical fitness, easy to talk to, and passionate about his work. I’ve been training with Jake for 7 months, and believe he is one of the most experienced and committed trainers around. I started training two times a week, really enjoyed the variety & challenge he put into the sessions. Jake is focused on helping me achieve my goals and makes every session challenging (& somehow fun). My fitness has increased noticeably and I’ve seen improvements in myself. I’m progressively lifting heavier weights & generally push myself harder throughout each session. I actually look forward to my workouts and know what I’m doing. Jake ensures that my technique is always correct to avoid any injuries. I was referred to Jake by a friend and started seeing him during a time when I had not been exercising at all. He assessed my form and helped to correct my posture and muscle strength. I have slowly increased my strength and resistance. His sessions are always challenging, but not stressful or overwhelming. I’ve been working out with Jake for a couple months now and I can honestly say, I have no more back or knee pain after my workouts! I was told by my doctor I could never do squats again because of the knee pain I was experiencing. I am now able to do squats again and do it the RIGHT way for the first time!! I have been working with Jake for about 2 months now and am thrilled with my experience. First off - Jake is very knowledgeable in his field. He definitely takes his training seriously and explains why you are doing what you are doing. I have yet to do the same exercise twice, which has kept me very interested and challenged. While I needed to start off slow, I still feel the workout the next day while still being able to function! Sometimes, Jake comes to my home (which is fantastic) and he brings any equipment he needs. Sometimes i meet him in the gym at his apt. complex, which is also a nice change to keep the workout challenging. He's also very flexible with scheduling. I've spent about a month working with Jake Behan at Innovative Health and Fitness, and I can say that it has been one of the best investments I have made in my life. I'm slowly getting stronger, improving my flexibility, and losing excess body fat. These results have slowly helped me to become a better endurance athlete, and it is all because of working with Jake. These results would not have come if I were doing this on my own.Each session so far has been different and extremely challenging. If you are doing a new exercise, he'll demonstrate how to do it correctly, and then when it is your turn he'll observe and comment while you are performing it. Jake is a highly motivated, dedicated individual who has a passion for fitness and is fit himself. It shows that he practices what he preaches (leading by example). His knowledge of strength training, anatomy, and postural imbalances are top notch. Jake is also very friendly, approachable, and humble. I'm a 75 year old man that for various reasons over the past 3 years has had my general level of fitness decline. This includes a return of more frequent back pain I've dealt with most of my life, an increase in the area between my belt and lower chest in a horizontal direction, decreased flexibility which I've always prided myself on and a couple other misc. items. After a physical evaluation and discussion of goals, together we came up with SPECIFIC GOALS with MEASURABLE RESULTS in a TIME PERIOD agreed to by both of us.

I am now near the end of Phase 1 and built a base to allow us to "Turn up the Volume" on our routine allowing progress at a higher level with confidence and without concern of additional back pain. I now walk away from each session with a stronger sense of accomplishment eager to return knowing another step has been taken toward my goal.

My diet has improved with Jakes help utilizing calorie management
and techniques that are easy and effective. An excellent APP is available for those wishing to use it!

I haven't tried the next notch on the belt trick quite yet, however keep an eye out there will be comments in additional reviews which you can officially count on since we're both serious regarding all goals especially this one.

As for Jake himself, let it be known that I've used personal trainers off and on most of my life for a variety of reasons. Can I say he's the best? No, not yet. Is he good? Very! Will a later review put him at the top? If my very aggressive goals are met....... ABSOLUTELY! We both know this won't be easy!!

Finally, he is obviously well educated in his craft and excellent to work with. He believes in what we will accomplish and it shows. He has helped with a few things outside of our stated goals which are important to me and generally presents a superior level of knowledge regarding his chosen field. STAY TUNED!

I've been working out for years and have even taken college classes/hired personal trainers in the past for muscle gain. However, after a neck accident a few years ago, I stopped focusing on my dead lifts, squats, and other exercises that made my neck hurt. He helped me correct my squat form as well as a different way to squat that helped relieve any strain on my neck. Definitely recommend not just for someone looking to get into shape, but for the already experienced weight lifter. I had no idea how bad my form really was. Thanks Jake! More...

I was referred to Jake by another trainer after a year of trying to fix muscle imbalances resulting from a surgery over a year ago. I was set in my ways when it came to boot camps and lifting and yet although I was very dedicated to my workouts, I couldn’t figure out why I continued to have issues with pain in my hip flexors and limitations in certain movements. After only a short period with Jake I am able to 100% tell a difference in my performance. Jake is also working with my nutrition to help me reach 100%. I’ve had many different trainers and I have to say, Jake’s knowledge of movement and the human anatomy is spot on. I highly recommend Jake for personal training! I started working with Jake early during my second pregnancy (he was one of the first to know I was pregnant! ). Now at 25 weeks pregnant, I can tell you that I'm much stronger and healthier at this point in my pregnancy than I was at the beginning of my pregnancy. I'm also feeling much less achy than I was at this point during my first pregnancy. I plan to continue working with Jake through my pregnancy, and again after the birth.

I've seen noticeable gains in not just my strength, but my stability and muscular balances as well. From years of being a long distance runner, and from even longer not having addressed the muscular imbalances, I've been prone to injuries related to the imbalances. Jake takes his time to work on those imbalances so that when progressing with weights and other exercises, I'm doing so in a way that minimizes chance of injury and maximizes potential benefits of the exercise. He explains things in a way that make sense, and is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about personal training.

Based on other reviews, it definitely sounds like Jake's clients in Connecticut miss him, but I'm glad to have found him here in Texas!
