Imli never fails to disappoint! The weekend brunch special was recommended to me and I brought my friend for a late morning treat. Loved the variety of food offered in this thali-style arrangement. If you're in the city during the weekend, don't miss Imli's brunch special! Special thanks to Mohammed and Sunil for their 5-star service as always. More...

Four of us went on a Saturday night with no reservation.  They seemed genuinely glad to accommodate us.The meal was superb from the complimentary nan and dipping sauce through all our four entrees.Waitstaff was friendly and attentive to four dithering folks and made great suggestions Restaurant ambience is wonderful.Special note: try the eggplant appetizer. Even our "I don't like eggplant" guy was  snarfing it down! More...

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner the other night and the food was amazing. The staff were super friendly and accommodating, the service was excellent, and the food came out timely. On top of that the food was wonderful, would highly recommend the naan and tandoori chicken! Also great drinks, and the prices are not too expensive! Overall great experience! More...

These guys are amazing! Initially we were running late and they were willing to accommodate us. Then the table we were seated next to were extremely loud. They were kind enough to move us and accommodate us. We have come here a few times and food has been on point! But all these little things add massive amounts to the experience... More...

We went here a month or so ago with work colleagues for a weekday lunch and we had a really good time! We were around 10-12 people and the hosts were very accommodating in handling such a big party. The hosts were really nice, fun to talk to and gave us really good service all though out our lunch. Their prie fixe lunch menu is really good and is good value for money since it comes with 2 appetizers, 1 entree and dessert at the end. Their goat biryani is to die for! One of the best I have had in the city and a must have. We all loved it so much that we definitely plan to visit here again. More...

Imli crew goes above and beyond to make you feel part of the family. Best Indian cuisine in town, hands down. If you like the lunch menu, you will LOVE the dinner menu. The spices and flavors are paired amazingly and all members of the Imli crew put their hearts and souls into these dishes and culinary experience. I'm always impressed by the variety of dishes and flavors offered by the lunch special and dinner menu, and the finesse in presentation speaks for itself. Much love and keep it up!!! More...

Tried the mango mirchi cocktail (Mango, Tito's, mints and other ingredients) with lukhnowi-Keema(spelling?) today and it was simply the best thing for me, hands down. Thanks to Gary, the bartender who recommended it. I am an Indian but was born in the states and never been to India. I must add that the taste, spice, the texture of the minced red meat was as good as the one you would get at the finest restaurant in India if not better. Five stars. Recommended. More...

Every once in awhile you happen to stumble into a restaurant that you have no preconceived opinions . I had not read any reviews and didn't know what to expect . What I did find was a culinary experience compared to some of the best  restaurants I've been to . The food had depth , complexity , the right amount of heat and resonantly priced . I had a great conversation with the owner who shared his vision and the fact that they have a Michelin star chef !!! Try this restaurant and it will be one of your favorites  . More...

A (semi) casual date night with hubby turned out to be one of the finest dining experiences I've had in a while. I have more Indian food than I ever write about so I was curious to see how good this really was after so many recommendations. We started with two appetizers-- The Amchur Makai, 2 corn croquettes with potato and ginger and those were delicious with the mint and strawberry sauces. The second appetizer-- The Samosa Chaat was really incredible and I am NOT exaggerating (even for my husband who's someone very hard to impress). You could say they were simple potato and pea samosas but they were tossed with chutney, these crispy noodles, a curd or cream I suspect was yogurt and the entire thing came together so so well. It was super spicy and delicious and probably my favorite dish of the entire night. After that we had the Tandoori chicken tikka with spinach and onions and the slow cooked lamb 'Rohan Josh' which were both tender, one with a dry rub of spices and the other in a creamy curry sauce. Of course, there was soft basmati rice with peas and their garlic naan which was also quite good. I asked for a mango lassi and they recommended cocktails but I am on a no alcohol kick so their sweet bartender Rex actually made us grenadine and lychee mocktails and they were so sweet and refreshing. The fact that he went out of his way to make a cocktail without alcohol for us was really kind and it's a gesture we were impressed by. The entire waiting staff was super attentive and it's really worth mentioning. A+ for fantastic service! Really great flavors, food timing was perfect and such attentive service. 5 stars Imli, we'll be back! More...

I used to work nearby when this place opened, and it quickly became my lunch place almost daily. I dropped by yesterday for the first time in a year, and while it was amazing before, it's so much more enhanced now! They've hired a fantastic Michelin Star chef and the staff are smiling and very positive. Service is quick and the food is served fresh and warm, and the music boosts your midday spirit. Pictured is the 2 appetizers I chose (tandoori chicken and samosa) and the tandoori chicken is cooked to PERFECTION. I've been to many Indian restaurants in NYC, London, Toronto and this feels like even the most high-end ones. I'm so grateful they can deliver such a high-quality lunch special at an extremely reasonable price. Great atmosphere for corporate lunch gatherings or just bringing a friend. I'll absolutely be a customer at least several times a week. Thank you Chef Beck, Rob, Bushra, Rex, and the whole Imli crew! More...

My husband and I wanted to try some tasty Indian cuisine and this place did not disappoint. We went around 6:00 on a Tuesday and were seated right away. Not busy. Wait staff very attentive. We asked our waitress what we should choose and she went through and explained the menu in detail for us. They inside of the restaurant was also very nice. We ordered the garlic naan, chicken tikka masala and chicken madras. The entrees came with complimentary rice. Honestly there was so much more I wanted to try from the menu but didn't want to go crazy as it was just the two of us. The chicken tikka masala was so good. Absolutely delicious. I would DEFINITELY get this again. The garlic naan-perfect. Delicious. The chicken madras- little more spice. It was good, but would I get it again? Probably not, I would opt to try something else delicious from the menu. My husband and I had left overs today and I'm telling you it just wasn't enough. I am now CRAVING more and can't wait to go back. Will ABSOLUTELY go back. More...

The short: really, really delicious, clean food in a contemporary setting with great staff. The longer: we made a reservation on OpenTable and came here on a Monday evening. The space was super quiet, and our waitress was very nice. We shared a large beer. The menu is a mix of tapas and regular size plates. We started with the tandoori shrimp in a tapas size. Amazing. 3 jumbo shrimps in the order. Then, we shared the okra masala, chicken tikka, dal & some naan. Rice is complimentary -- which I appreciate -- and they give you refills if you need them. The food was all super fresh, wasn't overly oily or creamy, and was generally just very good. It's nice to have such a high-quality, trendy Indian tapas spot in the neighborhood. I highly recommend! One of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been and I've been to probably close to 100 in my life. 2 levels above the rest. Their chicken tikka masala is a stand out but you can hardly go wrong with any of their dishes. The sauces and curries have an elegance to them. Ask for the off-menu murgh malai kebab. Yogurt marinated chicken grilled in the tandoor. Spice levels can be adjusted, just ask. Very friendly and helpful wait staff. More...

Yummy Indian with a steal of a lunch special.  Only $13 and get four courses including naan, rice and lentils. We've tried most of the dishes on the lunch special menu and my favorite is the eggplant appetizer as well as the chicken appetizer.  If you're going to get the samosa I'd recommend sticking to the veg samosa because the lamb samosa wasn't very good.  They are also receptive of you being in a rush and brought out the food in ~10 min at our request. Imli is my new Indian go-to in the area. Its concept is Indian tapas, mixed with a few regular entrees plus a few less common ones: the Goan pork vindaloo or the ginger salmon for example. The devilled eggs are pretty good from the tapas option as is the cauliflower. The cocktails are pretty well made, which is unusual for a lot of Indian restaurants that normally focus on a few beers, mixers and a few uninteresting spirits. Food was fantastic, the chicken tikka masala that I had definitely stood out to me. Very well balanced sauce and the chicken was cooked to perfection. The only reason I cannot give this 5 starts is due to the service. The server was inattentive, never once asked if we enjoyed our food. Near the end of our meal I asked her for a soda refill and more water, instead she came back with a dessert menu and kept asking us several times if we wanted to see the dessert menu and got annoyed when I had to just tell her that I had asked for a soda refill and water and never received it. Just simply wonderful. My wife is a Brit, so we've eaten in a lot on Indian restaurants, including on the revered Curry Mile in Manchester. None of those in Manchester, or elsewhere, have been as good. Imli was a joy. Four of us shared 4 different dishes, a chicken, a pork, a beef, and a lamb. Each dish had complex and delightful flavors with amazingly tender meat. It was the best Indian I've had. This restaurant is an excellent option for those looking for Indian food. Their food was good, perfectly balanced - not too heavy and not too light - and everything had just the right level of heat. Their menu had a selection of tapas plates, which had thrown me a little, but it turned out to be the first size to try a little bit of everything. The option to order them entree sized was also available. We ordered about 20% of the menu, as we were a large group. We tried 3-4 dishes on the veg and non veg menus. We didn't get anything on the seafood menu, except for the perfectly done tandoori shrimp. We also tried the biryani, which was well spiced. The service was also on point. For such a large group, things can often go awry, especially at Indian restaurants; however, I have to say that the service was attentive and fast. They were responsive and great with all our questions. Would definitely come again! More...

Cuda been a 5 Star had service been more attentive.   Friendly owner et al, but just not attentive and too slow.   Having said that, food was exceptional.   Not your standard Indian menu.   More upscale with great quality, presentation, and spices that will knock your socks off.   Prices are very reasonable and portions were perfectly sized for the tapas section of the menu.     Will definitely return with the hope they bring the dishes and drinks out a bit quicker and pay more attention to timing.  As an example, when you order double portions of naan bread and it doesn't come out for 15 minutes, then ask a server to check on it, and then get your first dish still without it.  Then ask again and get second dish without it and ask the server, and then the owner and still no naan, you have to wonder if we're even listening.   Finally, with the 3rd dish an hour later, what we wanted immediately comes out....Again, all in all, nice spot.   They get another chance to shine with service to equal their excellent food and decor.... The comforts of an Indian cooking elevated by an upscale dining ambiance and experience in " imli " , from entrance to exit, you will dine finely on complex flavors honed almost from all over India...add to that modern influence from the posh neighborhood it inhabits... and now you have an    I M L I .The space is what fine dining is all about.Clean to the eye view are uninhabited but guided by details acknowledging the posh modern space. Daytime dining allows for floods of sunlight to soak the dining area by the windows while evening brings a calming elegance to the space. The interior dining areas and bar do not disappoint as you do get what you put for...this restaurant is big without feeling cavernous...still a fair amount of " intimacy "  without being shoved too close together. The cocktails are well made and work well for biz drinks, a "nice" date night, introducing out-of-towner to upper east side experience, etc. The food? excellent, well prepared, plated for maximum eyefuls, the smell/scent tend of the food tend to be fairly muted compared to " Mom's Kitchen " for anyone who grew up in South Asia.Service? Lovely service from the bartender to the waiter.  We enjoyed the shrimp tapas which contained about 5 perfectly cooked crustaceans, and the cauliflower tikki which contained two patties.  I wish this dish had a larger amount.  My Kashmiri Dahi Chicken was good, but  the chicken was a bit overdone.  The sauce was delicious.  We liked the Peshawri Naan, too.  My husband's whole fish was cooked perfectly and was also delicious, but it was too rich for his stomach.  This, of course, is not the restaurant's fault.  We enjoyed the Domaine de la Sangliere rose which was not too sweet.  It was very kind of the bartender to give us a taste of it before we ordered the bottle.  Please give this restaurant a try.  You will not be disappointed. What a discovery! This food here is unbelievably fantastic. We have eaten Indian food in many cities around the world, and hands down, Imli is the best that we have come across. I had the house specialty of baby eggplant in an amazing masala sauce, which came with basmati rice, and my daughter had the Shahi Paneer with the basmati rice, and an extra bowl of the coconut rice. We also had the Yellow Dal to share. Without a doubt the chef is truly an artist when it comes to the combinations of spices in each dish.  The portions are generous and we would have been more than full without the Dal, but everything looked so good we couldn't resist. The very reasonable prices are a delight as well. An extremely high end food experience at a fraction of the cost. I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly, and imagine that anyone coming here would be as thrilled as we were to have eaten here. More...

My daughter is a vegetarian. So I must try it again to give it a more complete review. The whole baby eggplant was my daughters favorite. I have to admit the sauce was very good. We went with the yellow daal. I really liked this one. The flavor was unique unto this dish. I really enjoyed this one. We both agreed that the whole baby potatoes dish was ok but we enjoyed the others more.  The chili nasn was made with those little green chili's I love so much. The rice was light and fluffy as it should be. I cannot wait to try their other dishes in their beautiful back garden. More...

The BEST Indian food I've ever eaten. Great modern riffs on Indian classics. Delicious surprises. Imli offers tapas servings as well as entrees which makes it easier to try several dishes. We have been coming to this restaurant ever since it opened. Our 14-month-old son loves going to this please because the staff is so welcoming and warm. We really like the menu which serves to diverse taste and is a good balance from across Indian landscape. We have yet to meet anyone who was not impressed by the food. The only suggestion i have is they should look into expanding the cocktail list and come up with some exclusive Indian versions of mixed drinks. We also hosted a brunch birthday party for 20 people and they gladly opened their patio which is beautiful. I would highly recommend this place for big groups and parties. More...

This Indian restaurant is a great new addition to the UES. I've been here about 4 times now, and tried take out once. Never had a single issue; the food was spot on each time! Their chicken tikka masala and coconut shrimp curry is great, but their lamb curry is phenomenal.  The $13 lunch special is great too, with a more than generous quantity of food. I hope they keep up the quality of their food! Love it so far. More...

Have gone to this place so many times in the past few months and have tried various things. I think their meat appetizers are the best. I also really love their biryani and lamb dishes. Whoa! So I ordered in tonight so I could work more from my hotel room. I was craving some Indian food and thought I would give Imli a try. I've been to India a few times now and my go-to meal has always been chicken tikka masala. I love spicy food so got the spice at a level 5 (highest level is 6). There were good size chunks of chicken and the spices were spot on! It came with a proportional serving of rice and proved delicious with the chicken tikka sauce spooned over top. Now when I went to India I would sometimes get just naan as a meal so I had to try the naan. I ordered the garlic naan which came still warm with visible chunks of garlic. It was a little thicker than what I remember naan to be but nonetheless, super tasty! This food was so good and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great tasting Indian food. #fullstomach More...

$13 SUNDAY LUNCH review-Yes please!I've been wanting to try this place for weeks, came for brunch today and was pleasantly surprised to see $13 lunch!!!! Based on the reviews it seems they must have changed the weekend offering to this, as I saw no brunch menu. The lunch special includes TWO appetizers, one main dish, lentils, very generous portions of rice and naan AND dessert! For the price I thought all the food would be dumped on one dish. Nope, they served the delicious appetizers first: we ordered cauliflower, chicken and crispy okra which were beautifully plated tapas style. For the main dish my husband and I shared channa masala and bhindi. We skipped dessert, though ice cream or gulab jamun is included (trying to avoid sugar). I did order a ginger lime kiss which was perfect. Would I say the lunch menu was inventive/nouveau? No- but definitely delicious and one hell of a deal! Will definitely be back to try items from their full menu! More...

I went with my coworker for the lunch special.  We really liked the ambience, the decor ....certainly on the more fancier side compared to the other Indian places on the block.  The waitstaff are attentive & polite.  Some of the appetizers are not the regular fare & even ones with a twist which we really appreciate.  Quality is less than what we're used to next door at Moti Mahal but it's really just right amount of food.  They had an option of Ice cream or Gulab Jamun but I was disappointed when we were served vanilla ice cream....I was expecting to see some Indian flovours like Mango/Saffron/Pistachio.  Minor gripe!! Don't let location fool you... this low-key neighborhood restaurant serves up surprisingly complex Indian fare and delicious handcrafted cocktails.  Service is warm and attentive. We kicked off our evening with two bourbon based cocktails - Imli Smash.  The drinks were perfectly balanced (and not too sweet!) between the fruit and herbs (blackberry, mint, other ), bourbon (Woodford Reserve), and club soda.  Generous pours! For an appetizer, we ordered the vegetable samosa.  The pastry puff was light and fluffy, served with a side of two sauces (tamarind and mint yogurt).  The sauces (and samosas) were to die for!For mains, we shared the pork vindaloo and lamb rogan josh over white basmati rice and garlic naan.  The pork vindaloo was definitely our favorite.  The meat was tender and the heat built up throughout the meal.  The lamb rogan josh was also pretty solid, although the meat was not as tender as I would have liked.  However, the dish was well spiced.  As far as the naan, nothing to write home about - pretty standard.All-in, one of my favorite Indian restaurants in the city!  We'll be back. My guy & I have been meaning to get ourselves over to Imli since it's menu of unique items tempted us upon its arrival a few months ago.One of the staff members was kind enough to show us around* the well-decorated (modern + cozy plush* seating) space. They have a separate room in the back which is perfect for a PRIVATE PARTY/EVENT!They also have a bar and Indian movies* projected onto a wall by the bar. #cultureThe staff and decor are on point, as is the fooooood:_ CHICKEN CHAAT ($10)   Try this unique appetizer - a typical street food in India -   of sautéed chicken drizzled with mint chutney, tamarind chutney,   yogurt and chaat (dried lentil flour flakes).   Our friendly waitress suggested* this POPULAR FAVORITE   and we're glad she did!   = SO TASTY with a nice balance of CRUNCH + MOISTURE + FLAVOR_ CHICKEN REZALA ($18, comes w/rice)   is similar to Chicken Korma except this has poppy seeds in it.   It came on a lovely, warm* ceramic plate which kept the food warm.   One of the best korma-like dishes I've had as it is hearty* with   CASHEWS + ALMONDS + PECANS + PUMPKIN SEEDS   + RAISINS + CRAISINS! _ COCONUT RICE ($6)   = extra creamy, and mixed with plain basmati that came with the entree   made it better for my palate_ KHEER (RICE PUDDING)   Tasty & hearty* with the same nuts/seeds/dried fruit as in the Rezala!   There was a noticeably distinct flavor that I couldn't pinpoint   but my guy guessed it right - SAFFRON! It also has ROSE WATER in it.Overall, this isn't a typical Indian restaurant. Its offerings that I've explored so far are heartier* than what I've had elsewhere. Also, the owner* of the restaurant came by to check on us which I interpret as him caring deeply about his customers being happy!* = reasons for 5 stars Did I mention how hearty the food is Highly recommended! Will gladly return! More...

On a chilly and gloomy Saturday evening, we were needing some spices and good cocktails to get us through the rest of the weekend.  We are so glad we tried Imli.  The space is brightly lit and rather unglamorous but good services and delicious food and drinks compensate for it.  There is a large number of small dishes as well as regular entree dishes.  We started with fried cauliflower and Argentinian shrimp.  Very tasty.  For entree we had sea bass curry and pork vindaloo.  Again very tasty with colorful spices.  It was pretty spicy but ice cold Tito with mango and chili was extremely refreshing to counter the spiciness.  At the end of the meal we did not feel bloated as often happens with other Indian restaurants.  Next time I will try more small dishes and do less entree.  It was a very satisfying meal. Delicious, creative food that has a few classics, but lots of dishes I had never tried before, like fried okra, cauliflower Tikki, and beetroot croquet.  And a great wine list and cocktails! (a spicy-ish drink with fresh mango juice and a cucumber lychee cocktail were both terrific).  I loved that much of the menu is tapas style, so that you can try lots of different options. The breads and the rice (try the coconut) are incredible, too! And the prices are more than reasonable, especially given the quantities and quality of the food.  The décor inside and back patio are both lovely places to eat. My wife and I came here early in the dinner service on a Wednesday, and there was already a good amount of people not only sitting for a meal, but also hanging out at the joint's beautiful bar and in their outdoor enclosed garden space. We started off with a pair of interesting cocktails: The Kachumber Cooler (Hendricks Gin, St. Germain, lychee juice, cucumber), and the Desi Daaru (Old Monk, Thumbs Up, coriander, chaat, tabasco). Both were really great and unique.Bhal is brought out to each table before the meal. This is a savory street style snack made from puffed rice, shreds of fried chic pea, onions, spices, tamarind sauce and chutney. This stuff was absolutely addicting! This becoming known for its cross-over cuisine and tapas style bites, so we tried a bunch of those first. First were the grilled tandoori chicken wings. These babies rocked! They're marinated in Indian spices and then cooked until super tender. They had a great char on them from the grill, and the sauces pack both heat and cooling elements.Next up was the spiced lamb scotch egg.The egg was perfectly cooked, and the minced lamb around the outside was reminiscent of the grilled skewers of minced lamb that you commonly see at Indian restaurants (seekh kabob). I really liked this dish. Our next bite was less of a cross-over food item: cauliflower tikki. This is a variation on the popular aloo tikki. Rather than potatoes and onions, it's made with cauliflower. After being amply fed for the snack portion of the meal, we decided to split a chicken tikka pizza for our main course. This is not only a great idea, but a really tasty one as well. Recently my wife and I ate some naan at an Indian joint near our apartment, and I was commenting how I think naan in general is a perfect vehicle for something like pizza. I was really excited to see it on the menu here.Speaking of naan, this joint offers a huge variety of naan options, all of which look delicious. But anyway, the pizza was topped with chicken tikka masala, diced tomato, sliced of bell pepper and minced red onion. Really tasty. Perhaps just a drizzle of a cooling yogurt sauce across the top as a finishing touch would really put this dish over the top.Last but not least, we tried some Indian cardamom and ginger tea, along with Indian style ice cream (kulfi). This was flavored with fennel seed, condensed milk and paan/betel nut leaves, and was a really refreshing way to end the meal.I'm looking forward to coming back here again. Namely, I want to try the coconut and green chili clams, and some of the beef and lamb dishes. They do a really great job here, and I see a bright future for this joint. It's only been open for two months and it's already generating a big buzz in the neighborhood. More...

Everything was decadent! I'm coming back to try out more dishes and the cocktails. More...

Five stars easily deserved. Had dinner here last night at this modern Indian restaurant in the UES and the Indian tapas and cocktails were just amazing, enough so that my family made me promise to leave a review, here it is! Tried about eight different items (perfect for six ppl) through the tapas menu, each spectacular. Kerala beef was outstanding and Mangalore clams were delicious, great to finally see the beef make the menu in NYC. Get the Mango Mirchi cocktail! Friendly wait/barstaff made the experience more enjoyable. (Btw Imli means tamarind) More...

New York City and especially this neighborhood doesn't disappoint when it comes to good food and nice ambience. This place holds up to the high standards of food, indian flavors and ambience.

Excellent food! We were pleasantly surprised- a great addition to the neighborhood. Veggie samosas and cauliflower tikki were very fresh and tasty, with innovative dipping sauces. Chicken tikka masala, basmati rice, and garlic naan were flavorful with great texture. We felt the food is definitely worthy of the slightly higher price point than you might find at other Indian restaurants. I'm taking half a star for a cocktail that was bitter and nearly inedible- I would NOT recommend the "imli-rita," and it was definitely not worth $14, especially since I couldn't finish more than 1/3 of it. One more half star deduction for the door in the dining room that stays stuck in the open position, allowing the heat and humidity to flood the dining room until someone closes it again. Come on now, that door was broken when this location housed Marche de Sud. With all the lovely remodeling that new owners did, they should not have neglected a broken door. These are minor gripes, however. We look forward to returning and trying the rest of the menu. We wish Imli great success! More...

I am conflicted about this restaurant.  I like Indian places and this is close to my sister's apartment, so a convenient place to try. But four stars is being extra nice.Let me start with the bar.  My sister ordered their "Indian Summer" cocktail and then went with a refill.  The first drink was pink - the second drink was yellow.  Tasted about the same - probably more cherry juice in the first drink.  They had switched bartenders - so the recipes were not followed consistently.  Appetizers - the fried okra was fine but not special.  The fish bites were very nice - but the chili sauce was potent. They could dial that back just a bit.Entrees - the chicken tika masala was OK, so was the Tandoori chicken. If I go back I would try something different. This place opened recently.  Our server needed a bit more training. Background music is Indian and somewhat loud.  Decor is very nice.  To be honest, I was at Rangoli a few weeks ago in the same neighborhood and had a better experience. This is one of my favorite Indian-food-with-a-twist restaurant. The space at the back is very pretty with clear ceiling. The Beef Bhuna is my favorite dish, it reminds me of beef rendang. I also absolutely love the garlic Naan, it's very crispy and flavorful! We also had the mushroom, pork sausages as appetizers, as well as chicken tikka masala as entree. They were all really good. They are very attentive but sometimes that makes me feel like they want me to leave asap (the restaurant was empty at the time). More...

Fanstatic spot that just opened in our neighbourhood. The flavours are bold and there is something unique about every dish that sets it apart- really makes for a fun dining experience. The lamb chops were phenomenal, perfectly cooked and still extremely tender inside. Would recommend the crispy okra. Also has a very innovative bar menu, loved the  indian summer. More...

Wow. Move over there's a new best Indian in town! Fantastic chicken tikka masala with delicious naan and perfect rice. It sounds silly but each dish was perfect. Many restaurants fall short on at least one of the three but not Imli. Welcome Vincent and Imli, may you stay with our neighborhood for a long, delicious time!!! More...

Very creative menu. Small plates/tapas allow you to try various dishes. Tried almost all that was on the tapas menu, loved and re-ordered each dish. They catered well to little kids needs with mild but still flavorful tandoori chicken, dal and rice. We learned halfway through our meal that the restaurant opened just 2 weeks ago. The host stopped by to chat with us and graciously offered our party of eleven a glass of champagne each as we were there celebrating a graduation . Will definitely return when we are in New York next. We heard they offer a completely different breakfast menu! More...

My new favorite Indian restaurant in NYC! We had the scotch egg, cauliflower tikki, tandoori salmon, paneer makhini, and maharani dal. The food was excellent - flavorful and delicious. The salmon was one of the best I have ever had. It was perfectly juicy and seasoned. The restaurant is beautiful - great for date night! The service was great. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and very professional. The drinks were yummy. I enjoyed a few Mumbai mules! An overall impeccable dining experience :) More...

Having tried all the top Indian restaurants in India, London and New York, I have to say that Imli is as good as it gets. Tasty eclectic spices from all over India and definitely some hints fro French and Asian cuisines. Great decor and excellent service. Another welcome addition to the first avenue restaurant scene and cheering for Imli to achieve great success. More...

Very good authentic Indian food! Got the chicken liver which was delicious, chicken chat to die for, achari mushrooms which were yummy and the Kerala beef. The garlic naan was probably one of the best naans in the city. Light and tasty, not heavy! More...
