I've never done strength training in my life and was very intimidated. However I knew I needed to do so as I was 46 years old and had reached a plateau with my weight loss by just running. IMPossibePT is outstanding. Roger and Heather have built a very well appointed gym and they both have the education and skills to go with the gym. I just finished my third week with Roger. I had strained my shoulder working out and decided at 65 years old it was time to learn how to strength train properly. Roger evaluated me and commenced on simultaneously teaching me while building into varied workouts involving body weight, elastic bands, dumb bells, and barbells. We have covered dozens of different exercizes.Weight has been a lifelong issue and I've lived most of the last 10 years either constraining calories in a healthy way or binging in an unhealthy way. For the last six months I've been in the constraint mode. Since commencing the strength and conditioning training 3 weeks ago I have been able to eat more (mostly healthy food) and lose weight. That is a pleasant surprise. One other surprise I was not aware of is that muscle absorbs glucose from the bloodstream directly, a major benefit for a Type 2 diabetic.My physique is changing as I add muscle mass while reducing my body fat. Once I arrive at my goal I look forward to Roger's support helping me maintain. My son encouraged me to engage a Personal Trainer. I can't believe how caring and well educated IM Possible trainers are. There work outs focus on what YOU need not just fluff. I started with a large deficits that were causing an imbalance in my posture and functionally. The place is a great and motivating environment to workout in, but the accommodations that Roger has done to help me is above and beyond. Even when I was going out of town for a while he put together a detailed chart of the exercises I should do daily and when to increase them. My wife and I are a bit older (70 & 66) then a lot of gym goers. But we knew we needed to work on our strength, balance and flexibility--especially with 3 knee replacements between us. Heather works us hard, but is very careful that we do not hurt ourselves. If one exercise doesn't work, she finds one that will. She mixes things up so the workouts are fun and not boring.
