My husband I were married here this summer and we could not have picked a more perfect venue. We loved the grounds and the versatility in how we could choose to set up our wedding. The chapel is beautiful and was the talk of all of our guests. Even in the heat of the summer, there was plenty of shade and beautiful places to be outside. Our pictures look incredible! The outdoor ceremony was a great place for wedding party pictures. We also loved the bridal cottage which made the whole morning of getting ready feel so relaxing. Finally, the staff was a dream to work with. They were flexible with us coming up to view the property since my mother lived out of state and could only visit at odd times. Melissa was helpful and supportive and gave us great vendor contacts. Everyone who attended couldn't stop talking about how much they loved the venue! Our daughter’s wedding was here 6/22/2019. The venue is absolutely gorgeous. Every detail in architecture and the grounds, is painstakingly perfect. Balmorhea was the PERFECT venue for our wedding last month! Melissa was so helpful, and made everything very easy. We booked 2 years in advance because we knew it was exactly what we wanted in a venue. The bridal house is awesome to have everyone getting ready in and all my guests could talk about was how beautiful the venue was. We did an outdoor ceremony at 530 in June and it was perfectly shaded, so it never got too hot. HIGHLY Recommend Balmorhea to anyone looking for the perfect venue. More...

Stunning is an understatement. Balmorhea’s ceremony and reception areas are beyond anything any other venue in the area can offer. It is spacious and so ornate that it does not require a whole lot of decoration and floral cover up to fill a space. I could not have asked for more in a venue. There are not words to describe how beautiful the Balmorhea is or how wonderful Melissa, Lynsey and their team are. No picture (even the ones taken by our extremely talented wedding photographers) can do the beauty of their property and venue justice. You must go visit and see for yourself! As we were looking for a place, my fiance and I had lined up a day full of venues, and The Balmorhea was one of the first we visited. We should have stopped there. No detail -from landscaping to decor - is left unturned. It accommodates small and larger guest counts alike without losing the feel of intimacy. Our guest count was near 275 and so many commented (raved really) on how gorgeous and yet small the wedding felt because of the privacy of the property and the layout of the venue. With a chapel and porch, we didn't sweat the rain that happened on our day as well. The outdoor fireplace added to the romantic feel and the lake and fountains provided the feeling of sweet hill country escape. We were in love from day one (and still are)! Furthermore, while the space is GORGEOUS, the team at the Balmorhea makes it all the more special. If it weren't already amazing (and it is), they take it next level and set it apart all the more. From our initial meeting, Melissa's sincerely kind, friendly, hardworking, and welcoming personality made a lasting impression. She and Lynsey were consistently available and responsive, and their extensive knowledge of the industry as well as relationships with premiere vendors made planning seamless. It may seem like a small detail, but when you're planning a wedding, it's amazing (and wonderful) to see everyone work together as a team, and Melissa, Lynsey and their staff spearhead that. They have a sincere desire to make sure your day goes as planned and is as beautiful as you've dreamt. At the Balmorhea, you meet as prospective clients, quickly become friends, and leave as part of the family. It's a truly unique place, and we could not be happier with our choice. There aren’t enough words to describe the amazing experience we had at Balmorhea. Melissa was so easy to work with- always available and answered any questions I had. The property is absolutely gorgeous- you don’t need much to enhance it’s beauty. Everyone commented how beautiful it was too! It ended up raining right before our ceremony, so we moved our ceremony to the chapel. While I was soo excited for an outside ceremony, the chapel exceeded my expectations, and I even think turned out to be the better choice. My husband and I got married at Balmorhea on May 3, 2019 and it was an amazing day!I can’t recommend Balmorhea enough, not only for how beautiful the chapel, reception space and grounds are, but also for the staff and their efforts to go above and beyond. From the beginning, working with Melissa and Lynsey was great. From quick responses to great vendor recommendations, they were always super helpful! However, what really blew us away was the service and support we received on our wedding day. On our wedding day there was torrential flooding, tornado watches and road closures in Magnolia. Immediately after the storm cleared, Balmorhea staff was on site picking up debris, tidying the grounds from the storm, drying off walkways and rerouting our guests away from the flooded roadways. We cannot thank them enough for their efforts in making the day everything we had hoped for! The sun ended it up coming out during the ceremony and it was an unforgettable moment. Go for it! This place is absolutely amazing! I recently got married there and i chose this place for many reasons. 1. It’s Beautiful. 2. It’s a private place with a lot of space for everyone to enjoy. (All of my guests loved the place and enjoyed the open area which had a lot of spots perfect for pictures). 3. You can choose which ever vendors you want! It’s a plus because you don’t feel pressured to get anything you don’t want to ;) 4. Melissa is one of the sweetest persons I’ve ever met. She genuinely cares about you and does not pressure you to do anything you dont. She is very patient and honestly the best!5. The chapel is BEAUTIFUL. I wanted a venue that offered one and it honestly was worth it. It’s so beautiful inside with an amazing fountain view. I don’t even know where to begin! Melissa is a complete doll. We met Lindsay but she’s just as amazing. They’re so helpful. All of my emails were responded to immediately with any questions or concerns I had. Melissa and Lindsay were always available via phone, email or text. They’re truly just a great management team.From the moment we toured Balmorhea we fell in love with her and the venue. It’s a stunning venue. The family built the venue and when your wedding is here you truly feel like family. Everything from communication, to payments and from set up, to break down was a seamless process. Their bridal suite is gorgeous. The lake is beautiful. The venue accommodated our 250 guests, with buffet and dance floor without issue. We have received TONS of compliments about how beautiful the venue was and to many it was the most beautiful venue they’ve been to. You have the choice of a beautiful outside ceremony looking over the pond or a wonderful inside the chapel ceremony overlooking the other pond. If we could do it all over again, we would choose Balmorhea 100x over. I can’t say enough great things about Balmorhea or the family that runs and operates it. Balmorhea was very professional, flexible, and helpful! We loved the venue from the beginning, when we had a tour and then we booked the same day. We made payments leading up to a month before the wedding. Which was very helpful! Anytime I had a question or anything at all they were quick to respond through email or a phone call. Y'all....I had a hunch that this was the best wedding venue in the NW Houston area, and the planning process and my wedding day confirms that is TRUE! Melissa was great to work with, and truly seeks to celebrate with you as you plan your day. Besides her, the best thing about Balmorhea is its natural, classic, and timeless beauty. I loved that we could keep decorations simple and the ceremony and reception still felt warm, full, and inviting - not much you have to add! It's the perfect blend of down-to-earth with a touch of rustic + classy and beautiful. The design touches in the chapel and reception area are thoughtful and unique. My other favorite things:-The FIREPLACE - cozy and homey!-Plenty of space (we had 200 guests)-The outdoor patio - cozy and fun with hanging lights and a real fire! I got married in October of 2018 at Balmorhea and we LOVED IT!!! It was so beautiful and turned out to be our dream venue ! Mellissa is so amazing to work with! She is so nice and understanding, she worked with us in our ideas and was extremely helpful ! The venue has a very private feel the way is it on a large part of land and away from the the road. It has so many trees and has such a natural tuscany feel with all the rocks. So romantic and unique I urge you to check it out ! At lest plan a visit and the rest will happen on its own ! I had a very short engagement (6 months) and Balmorhea was FANTASTIC at accommodating the quick turn around time. Melissa and Lynsey are both incredibly sweet but also very professional. There were several times throughout the planning when they made me feel like more than just a customer. My husband and I got married at the Balmorhea July 28th, 2018 and it was truly one of the best days of our lives. The venue was absolutely perfect! The chapel had just been built but we stuck to our original plan of getting married by the pond with the fountain on. It was cool and shaded and the guests were surprised to be comfortable outside in July. We had our reception in their reception hall, the building fit our guest count of 185 just right and there was plenty of room for dancing. We all danced the night away and had a fabulous time! I searched online for a wedding venue for months without any luck of finding something that really peaked my interest. I wanted a modern, rustic venue that wasn’t too far away and didn’t have outrages prices. I also wanted to have the ability to choose my own vendors. One day I stumbled upon Balmorhea’s website and instantly fell in love. From my first tour all the way up until my big day, Melissa and Lynsey were very professional, helpful and down to earth.
