John was AWESOME! He was flinging tunes so fast nobody had time to sit down. His rhythms propelled the evening. Well, if I could give The Mint 6 stars, I would. The service wasn't the greatest, but the venue was intimate and kind of sexy, they people at the door were awesome. They really know how to treat the bread and butter of their business. The waitresses, not so much. The selection of talent was exceptional, I only wish they focused more on one artist other than trying to squeeze in three artists in one night. But really, this place was the bomb. The bathrooms were clean, the building has valet parking, you can get food and drinks at a reasonable price. *If you're a wine drinker, ask for the freshest bottle the Merlot is stale. This is an old school classy joint. Good music. Seen Davina and The Vagabonds and 3 other good artists opened up for them so that was an extra bonus our party didn't expect. Good food at a decent price and admission was super reasonable. The garlic fries were awesome! Comparing to a old dive place in North Hollywood-Universal City I use to frequent "The Baked Potato", this place is kept clean and classy unlike the disgusting Baked Potato. Would return here to see more bands for sure. Cozy place with great booth seating and tables not jammed together. Plenty of elbow room and room for people to dance as well. Huge long bar. Waitress service was friendly and excellent. Free Parking out front was super easy on the street. Plenty of parking spots considering this place doesn't have their own parking lot because they don't need it with all the open street parking available. More...
