Hugo Ortega's flagship restaurant is certainly one is the best places to sample great Mexican food! The lamb shank in green sauce is very tasty as is the ceviche Verde. Their Sunday brunch is legendary and although copied by lesser Mexican restaurants it's been never replicated. It's no surprise that chef Ortega is a James Beard award winner. More...

Been here for dinner a few times now. Service has been terrific each time, atmosphere is fun and casual. Menu is terrific in both variety and taste. Prepare to have to valet, parking around here is scarce and intimidating. You'll be circling the blocks, trying to read the many confusing signs about where you can and cannot park, as you drive past 2-3 tow trucks just looking for someone to tow. Save yourself the anxiety, and bring some cash to valet. Oh! and sometimes, they'll give you a carwash if you valet for an extra $15. That's pretty nice! More...

This is our second time visiting this place and like the first it was amazing. The food is fresh and tasty. I ordered a cheeseburger with cheddar cheese and their fried mashed potatoes, cheese and jalapeño balls and boy were they tasty. Even though my burger was well done, it was very, very tender. Fantastic high quality Mexican food. Don't expect nachos and salsa here. Try the scallops or the octopus dish. They are awesome. My sister and I shared a variety of smaller plates so that we can sample more. Everything was so well prepared and so wonderfully flavorful. The service was also excellent. Initially, I ventured to find the city of Houston's best margarita. The "Hugo Rita" explains the true meaning of a sensational drink that can be enjoyed with a variety of menu items. As for the taste, each is made to enchance the flavor of the agave. Overall, the food has a top quality for the price.
