The House of Blues is, and always will be, a great place to stop. There is great food, great drinks, fantastic music, and a wonderful atmosphere! The staff there are kind and actually fun to talk to. When you are downstairs make sure you look up at the ceiling and watch it flex up and down with the band and concert goers movements! What a blast! More...

Beautiful location, great food. If you are going to a concert, eat at the restaurant, you might be able to get in sooner. We got to wait inside (grear during a cold Chicago night) and get in before the outside crowd (fantastic for a GA show).

One of the best jazz clubs in Chicago. Went on a Wednesday evening and ended up being there for 3 hours. Their bands were that good. Funky mojo daddy were out of this world. Highly recommend visiting here when in the windy city. It is am experience and a treat to the eyes and ears. Bar has many choices and you can order dinner too. More...

Visited first for a dinner show. Entertainment was excellent! Atmosphere was excellent. Food was okay-there were better restaurants but they didn't offer the show or service. The brunch and gospel show on Sunday was excellent food, service, and the show excelled every expectation. So worth the $40. More...

Cool atmosphere. Specialty drinks were expensive but you only needed one so not too bad considering. The music was great and with that it’s a little loud (to be expected). We loved it though. Lots to look at. The food was pretty good as well. Service was ok. It was busy and things took awhile. Not unexpected. We would definitely come back! More...

We went to the Chicago House of Blues for the Sunday Gospel Brunch. It was so much fun! The music was uplifting and crowd pleasing! The food was to die for! The huge buffet lines boasted food from eggs and bacon to jambalaya and peach cobbler. The complimentary mimosas didn't hurt either! More...

We were seated quickly even arriving 10 minutes early for our reservation with a great view of the stage. The food was fantastic. The spicy cream sauce covered shrimp and grits was worth breaking my diet for and a side of greens was a bit salty but bacony with flavorful seasoning. The smoked chicken and brisket my husband ordered was just as tasty and satisfying. Great creamy not too sweet coleslaw on the side. The atmosphere here is loud when musicians are playing, but that is expected. The decor is so interesting and colorful. It is like an eclectic art museum itself. More...

Place to listen to blues music while enjoying a good meal or drink. There are several areas: a full service restaurant with a stage where musicians perform, a bigger hall for concerts with a bar, and a smaller performance room.
We enjoyed both the music and the food which was delicious and is inspired by Southern kitchen.
The staff was super friendly and the ambience of the place is great, filled with a lot of art fitting to the theme. Don't let the outside of the building fill you. It's very cozy inside.

This concert venue was fantastic! I've been to the House of Blues in Las Vegas for dinner years ago. This time, Hanson's Finally it's Christmas concert tour brought us to the House of Blues Chicago! The venue was funky and fun. Lots of great pieces of art to look at while waiting for the show to start. We had general admission floor seats. But from what I could tell, there was not a bad seat in the house. The acoustics were great, too. I would definitely recommend checking out your favorite band there if it's on their tour stops! We went for the Blue October show on April 20. The food was good. The staff are very helpful. I recently started to use a walker and was unable to get a hold of someone in the office to let them know. They took care of me with no notice. Got the VIP treatment with help getting upstairs to the venue, a place at the rail, and help leaving. The only downside is that overnight parking in Chicago is nearly half the cost of a hotel room. Taking the train, carpooling, or Uber is highly recommended. More...

The House of Blues is definitely a good place to go. It is not only extremely educational considering some of the facts posted around the building, but it is also quite an interesting and artistic building. The food is definitely not bad as well. It is over priced in some aspects which I will get to, but it is still quite good. We ordered jambalaya and added shrimp which doesn't automatically come with it which is odd considering every jambalaya I have ever eaten has shrimp already in it. The bowl of jambalaya is $18 by itself and you get around 2 cups full. If you want to add shrimp you pay additional of $6 for 4 shrimp which are the 16/20 size. The jambalaya was ultimately well made with good spice to it. I don't think 4 shrimp at $6 is fair priced but the jambalaya was still good. The grilled salmon that was originally ordered doesn't come with any starch which we thought it did, so we ordered sweet potato French fries which are good. The salmon was still raw in the middle after taking a bite and it had an off taste to it so we sent it back after talking to the waitress. We then ordered the grilled mahi sandwich which was very good. The only downside and disappointment to the food was that there was a bone in a piece of chicken, there was a fairly large piece of bay leaf left in the jambalaya which is horrible to bite into, and the 4 shrimp with the tails still on were not priced accordingly and should have had the tail removed. The ice tea was good as well. We decided against a dessert at this meal. All in all, House of Blues was worth going to and definitely worth visiting if you are in Chicago for a visit. More...

Upstairs there’s also a venue where they have a cabaret show which I’d also recommend if you’d want to try something new :)

That is my rocking place! I have been here so many times. I love it even more every time I go.
I love the idea of cover bands. its so much fun to be that close to the stage and sing your favorite song with the band. I can do it all night long.

There is always a different band on the weekends. A different variety of Music.
Some cover bands will be sold out ahead of time unfortunately. You need to keep up with the schedule to buy the tickets early.

No better place to go in Chicago if you want to see a concert. Take the train downtown and your within 10 minutes walking to the house of blues. They have a great location and an amazing staff that is always super helpful. I love the skip the line feauture if you go eat at their restaurant and bar. It's totally awesome. Security is very helpful and respond quick. I have seen a few accident happen here and it's only been when people are over drunk and acting stupid. Security handles these issues and makes sure everyone else can still have a good night. There is a guy in the bathroom who helps with soap and towels and stuff and he is always a super nice guy too! First time at HOB. Staff were great; very friendly and helpful. We had a group of 11, so the food took a little time, but it was fine. I ordered the brisket, which came with slaw, pickles, jalapeno corn bread, and beans. It all tasted good, but it wasn't really anything special compared to other places with good brisket, which made the price seem a bit high. Otherwise, I had a great time. (It was my birthday, and they did bring me a cookie and ice cream in a skillet.) More...

We attended a concert by Freedom: a Wham/George Michael tribute band. The concert area was easy to find, security was quick a d staff were helpful, and their bartenders we're cool - especially Zach. Coat check was available cash only and they were quick with check in and out. The MC for the night sparkled, literally! He did a tremendous job of getting everyone pumped up. It was standing room only but that's ok... no one would have been sitting if there were seats.

After the concert we went down and caught the last set of one the blues bands and grabbed a bite to eat. Their brisket and the pulled pork sandwiches we're both amazing.

I look forward to coming back for Sixteen Candles Band's anniversary concert!

Great venue to see a concert. The main stage area is a fairly intimate setting to see artist up close. Balcony general admission aren't bad, it's usually not as crowded upstairs so likely won't have ppl in front of you.

Drinks are pricey but to be expected, the tall boys are size of two beers though so not too bad.

Last night I saw Sister Hazel here, and I have to say it was an amazing experience. I have come to the House of Blues many times before but this was the best experience by far. I called earlier in the week to inform them that I was going to be accompanied by a service dog and asked if I would have to go through any special procedures (this was my first time attending with a service dog). The person I talked to on the phone was extremely helpful, assured me there would be no issues and that the dog and I would have a safe area where people couldn't step on her. When I went to the venue, I got checked by security per usual (no special treatment which I appreciated because everyone should be checked the same) and then was told to go over to a different area to go up the stairs. Security there had already knew I was coming and was informed on exactly what to do, they were very kind and brought me up to the second floor in the back where the tables were and gave me a corner table with railings all around so no one could step on my dog. Everyone was courteous and extremely professional and I don't think they could have better and more professional staff.

TLDR: Went to HOB with service dog, amazing experience.
