Great Place for Breakfast, good food and prices
This place was very much so a new orleans hideaway. The family and I chose this as our last stop before leaving. The atmosphere was very trendy with a taste of new orleans . The coffee was phenomenal and the dishes were some of the best we had all week. I will make it a point to make this a stop every time I am in nola!!!!! More...

The restaurant is quaint and they do a novel take on many brunch staples, such as cornbread waffles! Their drinks are fun and delicious, we'll definelty go again!
More...

Great food. !!!!!
Had Saturday brunch and Monday morning breakfast here. First off, the food and drinks were PHENOMENAL. We were not disappointed either time! During brunch, we split the Crabby Wife and the cornbread waffle with beef on it. Tons of flavor and huge portions. I also had a bloody mary--tasty without being pretentious, and just the right amount of spice--followed by an iced cannon to go (gotta love NOLA!), which was strong, creamy, and wonderful. At breakfast, we split a fruit parfait (gorgeous presentation and absolutely delicious) and their BEC breakfast sandwich, piled high on a delectable marble rye. Good coffee, too. My only complaint is the service. During brunch, they were busy (which I totally understand), but the people seated next to us (one foot away) got waters, menus, and drinks before we got anything. Luckily a really friendly gentleman with salt-and-pepper hair (the owner?) noticed fairly quickly and promptly took our order immediately thereafter. Breakfast was a whole different story. When we walked in there were literally two tables of people in the entire restaurant, both of whom had already been served. No one greeted us (though both the female servers looked straight at us), so we finally just took a seat. 10 MINUTES LATER we were begrudgingly given menus, and coffee took another 15 minutes even though we asked for it when given menus. Note that another table of people who arrived after us were seated, given menus/coffee, and had their food DELIVERED before we even got our coffee. Unacceptable and inexcusable!!! Overall, I'd give five stars for food but only 2-3 stars for service. More...
Love this place...my neighborhood cafe.
We ate at a lot of places in NOLA, but this was literally one of the best breakfasts I had not just in NOLA, but in my life!! Definitely recommend.

Cute place with great service. I had the Eggs dauphine with poached eggs and it was soooo super delish! The jalapeno cornbread is outta this world good. I would def order it again. The french toast was super delish and soft! Would def visit here again just for the eggs dauphine! More...
Absolutely delicious food, and definitely worth the wait if its busy. Some of the dishes are large enough that friends wished they had split a meal, and no one was disappointed in their meal. Some unusual and unique choices on an extensive menu that it was almost hard to choose what we wanted to try. This place is so tasty we had friends go back the very next day; a must go! Oh, and I love that it's off the beaten path. More...

Loved the Cuban sandwich.
The pecan pancakes were fantastic. We also had fried catfish with grits and sauteed spinach. Somehow, the catfish was a bit off, in a way I can't describe--not because the fish was old but something else. Colleen and the other servers were friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. More...

Good food and friendly service
The corn waffles with fruit were a memorable breakfast! There was a waiting list to get inside, so we opted for outside seating. Took a bit for a waitress to come out and seat us. In the meantime a couple decide to plop themselves down in the empty table outside while they waited to get in. But the waitress was on the ball, noted that we were first on the list and politely informed them they would have to vacate. Good for us! Once seated, the service was flawless. The food came out pretty quick. The waitress checked up on us and asked if we needed anything. I said "Yeah, a flyswatter would be nice." She laughed it off like it was a joke. But quite seriously, other cafes around New Orleans do not have a problem with leaving a flyswatter in plain sight. If I could have quickly taken care of the 4 huge flys that were obviously regular patrons of the establishment, it certainly would have made for a much more peaceful breakfast experience. Still when you walk away feeling slightly high because the food was so good, can't let a minor irritation like that take a notch off a 5 star revue. More...

I went here with a friend last week and I've been dreaming of it ever since. I ate the most delicious breakfast there, one of the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is casual, quaint and that staff was incredibly nice. The decor is rustic and there's a lot of exposed wood (think cabin - like), but the food is great home-cooked style with excellent flavor combos. I'll be going back many times. More...

Great place with a really awesome atmosphere. Rather long wait. The bathroom smelled weird and felt damp like those at state and national park campgrounds that I've been to. We were looking for La Paniche.. and found it's replacement restaurant, Horn's. There were some consistent feeling to the food as certain employees were carried over but the service was much better with Horn's and the menu options were wonderfully well priced and portioned well.
