Highway to Hill did a spectacular job with the flowers at our wedding! Jo was such a joy to work with - she was friendly, flexible, and professional. Moreover, she totally understood my vision and did an above-and-beyond job translating our design conversations into beautiful florals. When looking for a wedding florist, I was really interested in incorporating as many local flowers as possible - Highway to Hill immediately stood out and Jo did such a great job keeping me in the loop about the varieties of flowers that would be available at that time of year, and which farms nearby she was sourcing from. Jo's studio is also a really cool place, and she had many interesting centerpieces, arches, etc. that helped us achieve a rustic/industrial, but elegant aesthetic. We found Jo and Highway to Hill, because she is one of my sister's good friends. When my sister got married 2 years ago and I was handed my bridesmaid bouquet, I thought this is exactly how I've always pictured my own flowers, and so I was happy to book Jo as our own florist. We didn't make it easy on her having a winter wedding in the mid-Atlantic. She believed some of my selected flowers would not be available in the season. We had a great experience with Jo and her crew. The flower arrangements, bouquet, etc., were absolutely lovely and she was very open to our ideas. She made everything very seasonal at our request. She was very responsive and flexible and we enjoyed getting to visit the studio ahead of time. She accommodated some last minute requests. Jo and Highway to Hill are simply amazing! After calling other florists and getting crazy quotes for our smallish wedding (~50 people), I was relieved to find H2H. Jo called me to talk about what I wanted and I hung up feeling like she really understood what I wanted and my overall vision for the day, even though I provided her with very little direction. I didn't see the flowers until the day of, but they were beyond my greatest expectation! They were absolutely gorgeous! My aunt, a retired florist, remarked on how beautiful all the arrangements were.

Jo was extremely flexible to work with as I initially contacted her just for a bouquet and a couple of corsages. However, after our initial conversation I decided I wanted her to do all of our arrangements, and she was quick to accommodate. I was very happy with Highway to Hill. My flowers turned out beautifully and they were very flexible & helpful. They did the flowers for both my wedding and my rehearsal dinner. They even allowed me to reuse my flowers from the rehearsal at my wedding for the cocktail hour- which really saved us money :)

Jo took my thoughts and created exactly what I wanted. I know nothing about flowers, so I really was looking to her for guidance on this, and her creations matched my overall look and theme exactly.

The cost was extremely reasonable, and I would use them again in the future for events & arrangements.

My only regret is that I didnt save my bouquet!! I honestly have no idea where it ended up, since I was so busy partying, so hopefully the photos do it justice!!! More...

Wow! Jo was wonderful to work with. I had in introductory meeting with her where I told her about myself and my partner, our story, and our style and wedding vision. Though I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted outside of my bouquet, I knew what I didn't want - anything typical. Jo created a floral vision and quote for us and then I met with her to view samples. During this meeting, she was so flexible and adapted arrangements on the spot, as I shared with her what I liked and hoped.

The table arrangements, bouquets, boutonnieres, and tall arrangements were absolutely gorgeous! She took my ill-articulated vision and turned it into exactly what I wanted! The arrangements were unique and beautiful! Many of the guests commented on how they had not seen such arrangements and how stunning they were.

I found Highway to Hill by seeing Jo's beautiful arrangements at Biker Barre and other Capitol Hill businesses each week. When we started looking for wedding vendors, I knew we had to reach out to Jo . She was incredibly thoughtful, personable, and intuitive. We gave her some examples of flowers we liked and an overview of the decor and ambiance we were trying to achieve, and what we got on wedding day was above and beyond our expectations. The bouquets were some of the most beautiful I have seen at a wedding, and well-constructed (they survived beautifully through the afternoon heat for photos along the National Mall), and the centerpieces she created brought the whole room together. We were so pleased with the Jo’s floral arrangements. She was very responsive initially when we were “shopping around” for florists. Once everything was confirmed, Jo was on hand to provide general guidance and field frantic questions and requests. Jo was very professional and made the experience easy, fun, and low-stress. She took direction very well, but I really appreciated her artistic eye. She’s incredibly talented and balanced her own wedding planning at the same time. (Her big day was a couple weeks after ours.) I LOVE LOVE LOVE Jo at Highway to Hill! She's so sweet and was a joy to work with! She really helped work with me to make sure we were well within budget and I still thought the flowers were the prettiest I had ever seen in my life. My wedding coordinator helped me find and choose Highway to Hill Flowers, and I am so happy that she did! Jo is a great listener and problem-solver.
