In 2014 my wife and I saw on the news that assistance may be available for homeowners who purchased a home when the market was inflated. We applied and were walked through the process by Help CDC. They were very helpful, courteous, and responsive, and we were able to have our mortgage paid down to market value. Now, five years later, that second mortgage is set to be forgiven. I would like to thank Nicole Oriol and her staff for helping me save my home.She and help team work with me and my mortgage company for 1 year. I was referred to Help CDC by my mortgage company in September 2017. I was assigned to Maria B. This was a very stressful time for me but she helped me throughout the whole process and made it as easy and stress free as possible. She answered my emails and calls in timely manner. I have been struggling for a long time and have been through so much as loss of job and divorce which was totally devastating. I had to beg and plead for help to pay my bills and that was totally beneath me as I had never been in this situation. I was afraid I would lose everything I had and never see my son and daughter due to my circumstances. I reached out to Florida's Hardest Hit organization to help me save my house while I tried to regroup and get a new start. I worked with Maria from FHH organization and she was so helpful as well as Nicole and now I am able to keep my home that I have put so much into and love so much. I cannot express my gratitude and appreciation for all they have done. I am able to keep my dogs which I love so much and my son and daughter will be able to visit their father in the house in which they were raised. This organization is so awesome and caring it is unbelievable. I suggest if anyone is having issues or problems such as I did, reach out to them as they are AWESOME. My Black Lab is smiling now!!! In late 2017 I was referred to HELP CDC by an Orange County program admin for help with some financial issues post hurricane IRMA. My first contact was with Sandra Q who advised me that HELP CDC is an authorized agent for the Florida hardest Hit fund (a program I previously tried to apply for with no success for a variety of reasons and ended up abandoning my application - Honestly, that experience was a nightmare disaster). After counseling me that HELP CDC had successfully guided many others through this (difficult) process, I got my previously closed file re-opened and re-assigned to the HELP CDC office in Eatonville Getting these files reassigned was no easy task - but I after speaking with Sandra Q, I realized the talent this team had and made extra effort to get my case reassigned to these amazing folks! It was TOTALLY WORTH the trouble to do so!Sandra Q, Maria, and Nicole O. worked together as an AMAZING team. Like a well oiled machine, they were fast, efficient, knowledgeable (they REALLY knew their stuff!) and helped me get ALL the paperwork processed, applications sorted, figures calculated, courses completed, etc. Even though I'm organized and a decent adminmyself, these programs can be VERY daunting! Without the help of the HELP CDC staff (both in person holding my hand and working behind the scenes) I'm not sure I would have been able to get through this process. On top of that, they actually presented my case file in such a way that it was successfully approved! (Something I was secretly doubtful was going to ever happen!) With their help, I ended up getting my mortgage successfully modified in the Florida Home Finance corporations 'Florida Hardest Hit' Principle reduction program. And all this just days before the program was set to expire December 31st 2017! I can finally rest easier that I have now turned a very important corner in my struggle to keep my home. (My home, which I bought at the height of the market in 2006 and was STILL underwater with!). Going through this process with these folks has left me with the sense that not only are these people sharp and capable, but that I have also made some friends in the process as well! If you're having difficulties i would not hesitate to bring the problem to Sandra, Nicole and Maria and let them help you. I always feel bad to hear about when someone has a bad experience with something so important! I have no idea what the facts were in this person's case and I cannot speak to that.THAT SAID - as with any complicated and serious financial matter, It is my opinion that it is ABSOLUTELY VITALLY IMPORTANT to be a willing, informed, cooperative and active perticipant iclient in one of these cases. As a client I did my part in providing complete documentation, asking a ton of questions, making sure I understood all the terms and procedures that this process entailed. Just like going to a doctor, the more information I provide my doctor, the better he can treat me. If I expect my Doctor to be a psychic mind-reader, leave out important information or take a passive role in the process, this surely would hurt my chances of getting a positive result. This is serious stuff these people deal with and it was helpful that I was also serious about my involvement in the process. Even then, these things are never guaranteed. I was lucky - I found great people to help me and I got a good result. I am very grateful for the help I received from HELP CDC and I sincerely hope that anyone who needs their help also has a positive experience like I did. At Help CDC the staff is very nice, and professional.They return your calls in a timely manner, they are there for you step by step no matter what the situation is. They are currently helping me with the first time home buyer process. They set standards for you that you probably wouldn't set for yourself and they help you along the way. I loved the staff at this program. They were always helpful and patient with me. Without this program I would have not been able to keep my home. They were such a blessing to me in hardtimes. My friends, the Karims are former clients of H.E.L.P. CDC. They were on the verge of losing their home of over 30 years when they found out about H. E.L.P. CDC's program to save homes from foreclosure. I kid you not, before meeting Nicole Oriol, they were looking for camping equipment at garage sales in preparation for being homeless. This organization is a Blessing from God. Under the leadership of Nicole Oriol and her patient staff who guided my friends through the lengthy and tedious process, they were able to save their home and are now back on their feet. All they needed was a hand up and they got it from H.E.L.P. CDC. There are too few organizations helping those like the Karims who were living a life of hidden poverty. Thank God for this one. The anxiety and stress over losing one's home are overwhelming enough to kill so the Karims believe H.E.L.P. CDC saved their home and their lives. The Karims do not have a Facebook account so I am telling everyone I know about their success story. Bless H.E.L.P.
