One of Missouri's best-hidden yet most-known eateries, the Hawthorne Inn is located among the six other buildings of downtown Labadie, MO. The facility is quaint yet quite large and offers indoor and patio service. The selection of food is fantastic with many special dishes available only here. The portion size borders on huge. First time eating at Hawthorne Inn. I've read many prior reviews, and thought most went 'over the top' with their praise.They didn't . My friend and I ate lunch here today. I had the Bowtie Jack. The cream sauce was very different, but it was better and more flavorable than most sauces I've tasted on The Hill. My friend had the Fettuccine Christopher, and she said this was one of the best pasta dishes she's ever had. It was "spicy". Not spicy hot, but spicy "tasty".Our waitress was very friendly, and answered several questions before we placed our order. Hawthorne is a little distant for us to come back on a regular basis. Excellent food and great service! Our waitress had been with Hawthorne Inn for 17 years! She was not only friendly and attentive, but also gave great recommendations. The food was exceptional!
