House burger was a surprise and really hit the spot. One of my daughters who can be hard to please echoed my sentiment. Can't wait to return when I get back to the area.

My friend suggested we go out for hot dogs, and being that I trust his taste in food I went with it. This was a great experience. The staff was friendly and we conversed about my trip to the DC area. This place had a really nice atmosphere around it; a very casual and artsy vibe. Food was delicious too, there was a lot of variety to what you can get on your hot dog. I would recommend getting the bombshell. They give you a generous helping of fries so I would only get one if you're with another person. Went in for the first time and I got a 2 dog combo and a German sausage Reuben style hot dog. I was pleasantly surprised by the deliciousness. Chloe (I hope I remembered right) recommended the German dog to me and now I recommend it to anyone who wants a nice hot dog! You can tell they don't use cheap quality ingredients. She saw we waited a bit longer for the german dog, so she gave us a side of fries (for free!) And they were delicious and made from fresh cut potatoes unlike most places. The sausages are really good; some may say they are a bit expensive, but this is Alexandria, so it's mostly in line with other places. The milkshakes used to be outstanding but are now just serviceable; my red raspberry shake today was pale white with just a tiny hint of raspberry flavor, and there was a chunk of a gummy substance in it as well. Delicious. The buns are slightly toasted so you get a tiny crisp without losing the softness of the bread. Definitely need to go back and try a different hotdog next time.

Can't get enough Haute Dog! It was a staple on my day-after-over-indulging walks with my dog and has since became a regular stop when I'm in the area. I've also converted my office into a bunch of Haute Dog fiends. Definitely give their cheese fries a shot! Sometimes you gotta slam back a couple dogs, a scoop of fries, and a cold soda. After finding this place on a Google, searching for "mothaflipin' hot dog stands," a few months back, that time was today for me. I got the two dog and drink combo, fenway and DC style, and a thing of fries. The order came up quickly, but it took a minute for someone to take my order, and the food was good! Huge thing of fries and two dogs.The dogs were a great flavor, the fries and drink were good too. At the end of my meal it was fun, but all in all they were just dressed up hotdogs. I really went for the experience of getting the full hot dog experience package.The only thing I do question is maybe the price. Ultimately it's the same price that you would be paying at a 5 guys, with about the same in quality and more hot dogs, so take your gamble. Maybe have a cheaper fry option, so it could be a little more affordable?All in all what you would expect from a hotdog joint, pretty solid. I'd go again, but you don't always have a jonesing for hotdogs, so it might be a while. More...
