Had the smoked pulled pork sandwich with a salad.  My friend had the corn bread with her meal. It looked like a pancake. I tried some. It was absolutley delicious. Best in Marion County. Place wasn't very busy but food was really good. You actually order at a counter, get your drink and then find a seat. My Boyfriend and I stopped in after a late night Gator game headed back to Tampa. We ordered the Q for 2 St. Louis. The food was AMAZING! !! The meat was tender and very seasoned. Excellent food and service overall. We were on a car ride that brought us to this area and looked for something to eat that wasn't fast food. The young lady at the counter was busy filling orders by phone but the patrons were quiet and peaceful, and she and the other young lady took care of them all and spent time going over the menu, which was all my husband and i's favorites so it was hard to choose just one thing. So we bought several small things and combos to share. Very affordable. The one menu suggestion I would make would be potato salad. To me, that's a bbq thing I've grown accustomed to choosing even if it's just a small side. The two young ladies on staff that night were personable and took the time to visit with us and talk. I like that there isn't a bunch of blaring media (music and tv) but a more peaceful country atmosphere in an urban setting plaza. I wanted to give it five stars but didn't because there are some areas physically of the restaurant inside that could use a little extra attention. I don't know if they had a leak and that's what the spots were on the ceiling (and the waitress apologized for a few flies we saw buzzing around), but all in all it looked and smelled clean and everyone was hard at work providing a quality meal for a decent price. I've eaten a lot of bbq in many cities and I have to say this place is now one of my favorites. In addition to the staff being delightful and friendly, the meat was smoked to perfection and the sides complemented them perfectly. I don't think I have ever tasted a more delightful coleslaw (with apples!) and green bean were flavorful without being greasy. the corn bread was on point with texture and taste. The brisket and ribs were super tasty and just as good reheated the next day, I'm glad I got an extra side of coleslaw to go so I could enjoy the full experience the following day. While I can't say I ever really want to go back to Ocala, I would at least be happy to get back to this spot. More...
