The owner and lead designer of Hanami Flowers, Yoshiko, has been in this industry for more than 25 years and classically trained in both Western and Eastern flower arrangement. She has worked at one of the best high-end floral gift companies in Kobe, Japan as a full-time employee and is very grateful for having valuable experiences there.

What do you love most about your job?
We would be extremely happy when we get to help people to succeed in their projects with our creations! Flowers are living art, beautiful and each is so different. In every season, they come different types of flowers as well as colors. That keeps us excited and fascinated about our work!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Yoshiko grew up watching her mother who was a flower geek... and also a floral arrangement instructor teaching her students at home when she lived in Japan. So it was very natural to pursuit this career for her. After 10 years of working with other wonderful florists/shops, she started her own business in the heart of the wine country in 2010.
