Phenomenal! We love this restaurant and the food and ambiance can't be compared to anything in the area. Fresh and perfect dishes, the best Thai Beef Salad ever! We will be back. This restaurant would absolutely compare to Philadelphia or New York favorites. More...

Just walking from the parking lot into the restaurant is an experience of walking into a different world. The ambiance of gothic stained glass and carved mantles, the cobbled floor and low slung iron chandeliers with candlelight from every surface made this open space feel like we had stumbled back in time. The staff was eloquent, had excellent timing, and allowed us to just enjoy a wonderful dining experience.Every item on the one page menu promised flavor variety and seasonal freshness, and it was easy to find both paleo and keto options. From the rotating small bites plate to the homemade desserts, think blondie brownies, fresh fig tarts, flourless chocolate torte, all the food was sourced locally, and the dishes, including a cream shrimp and scallop dish, the lamb chops, and a thai chicken quarter were all well portioned. No one felt stuffed and bloated at the end of our three course meal!Cherry on top? No corking fee. Skip the brand name places and eat here. More...

The Gypsy Kitchen is a restaurant that must be known. Their menu is always changing and provides interesting options, but the food always pleases the tastebuds. My personal favorite is the special grilled cheese at lunch. It’s filled with a delightful unique cheddar, apples, and bacon. It’s heaven on earth. Ate there for dinner once as well and the food was astounding. It’s BYOB with no cork fee! We saw people bring in an entire bottle of scotch! The building is also a sight to be seen. Felt like I was at Hogwarts. The food is well priced for the taste, experience, and portion sizes. Definitely will be a regular of mine. Also, don’t listen to past reviews of the waitstaff. The ladies there are incredibly attentive and kind. You must order your food at the counter for lunch, so maybe the people were upset if they waited at the table thinking the staff would come...? The owner is also very personable and checks on you after your meal. No bad things here. More...

This was our first trip to Lancaster and Gypsy Kitchen exceeded our expectations. We didn't get it together to bring our own wine, but the meal was so rich and delicious we didn't miss it at all. We shared the mixed green salad, GK 6 (a plate of six delectable appetizers, including a prosciutto and cheese puffed pastry), the short ribs and the Thai chicken with mango salad. The vegetable sides were amazing especially the spinach tian. We finished the meal with banana cake with cocoa whip. From what I understand the menu rotates quite often so we can't wait to come back and see what's in store for us. The refectory setting is charming and romantic, too. More...

If you are looking for a unique dinner venue this is it. A gothic Harry Potter, King Arthur ambiance. Dinner is served Friday and Saturday only so make a reservation. Don't forget BYOB. No corkage fee is a big plus. Fresh flowers on the table, more bonus points.I felt the food fits the setting. Family type food, selections of meat, fish, chicken, pasta and a vegetarian option all served with in season vegetables. Food was well prepared and prompt. Staff was friendly and attentive. More...

Being that it's not in a traditional restaurant environment, I worry Gypsy Kitchen sometimes gets overlooked. That is to the loss of anyone who overlooks it. Their weekend evening dinners are a date destination. I had the Prime Rib and it's one of the best Prime Ribs I've ever had. Ever. The chef was attentive to our table, coming personally to each table. He also happens to be the owner, so you know his care and concern that you truly enjoy your meal is as genuine as it can be. As an added bonus, I like a BYOB place for a nice dinner. I can focus the money on the food they are preparing and the tip to the wait staff who is serving me. AND I can get a higher price point wine to enjoy with my excellent meal. There was nothing on my plate that disappointed, and looking at the menu ahead of time allowed our table to bring 3 or 4 bottles of wine that would pair perfectly with our anticipated order. Don't sleep on Gypsy Kitchen. This should be near the top of your list if you haven't yet tried them. More...

Ambiance is AMAZING, especially in the midst of the holiday season. Super cozy environment, like having dinner in a place out of Harry Potter! The staff are all wonderful, really taking their time. The food was very good, but the menu is fairly limited overall. Overall, it was a great place for a birthday dinner with a large group of friends. Excited to check out lunch one of these days. My husband hosted a milestone (60th) birthday party for me at Gypsy Kitchen this past Saturday. We had 21 guests and each one raved about the delectable menu offerings - the presentation was superb and the tastes were amazing. The ambiance - especially the fire in that stunning fireplace along with the long table and beautiful, comfortable gathering space...epic. And the service was beyond excellent. It was an exceptional event for all. We will certainly plan more celebrations here...and some nice quiet dinners and lunches as well. I cannot express enough gratitude to the whole crew at Gypsy Kitchen. Thank you for a memorable and magical birthday!Angie More...
