Barbara is fantastic, she was able to identify an area in my life where I was getting stuck.

Barbara suggested a medication to ask my psychiatrist about after trying many meds and failing. And it actually helped!

I am a former psychologist for Greenleaf, and I cannot recommend Barbara and the rest of the clinicians at Greenleaf highly enough. I miss the wonderful collegial atmosphere, and I still refer clients there all the time due to the high quality of services that Greenleaf provides. Amazing place. More...

This practice is beyond a 5 star rating. All of the clinicians are knowledgable, kind, and strive to communicate with their patients' other providers. It is rare to find a practice where clinicians truly care and follow the best evidenced-based methods. It is also rare to find an owner that gives as much hope and inspiration to others as Dr. Barbara. More...

Hard to put into words how much Kimberlee has helped our daughter. She didn't appear to have serious problems but we were recommended to seek counseling due to an incident that happened several years prior (unknown to us at the time). We weren't sure if it was really necessary but we thought we should try. The benefits she has gained from meeting with Kimberlee have been priceless. The ability Kimberlee has to listen, absorb, understand, and communicate is unlike any I have ever seen. She has helped in so many ways. More...

Q&As

I enjoy compassionately connecting with clients, children, adolescents, adults, parents, and families, and helping them to attain the solutions and quality of life which they are seeking. In therapy, I facilitate hope, encouragement, nervous system regulation, and empowerment, as I partner with clients achieve unique client-centered solutions. I use therapeutic techniques that are designed to meet those goals (e.g., Somatic Experiencing, Dialectic Behavior Therapy-DBT, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-CBT, Relational Therapy, Internal Family Systems-IFS, Mind/Body Techniques, Social Thinking Methods, Executive Functioning Coaching, EMDR, Gottman Methods, Sexual Crucible Methods, DARe Attachment and Relationship Techniques, Guided Imagery, Problem Solving Methods, Family Systems Approaches, etc.). In Life Coaching, I work with motivated adult clients to facilitate transformation, empowerment, and success in targeted areas of life.I also have a specialty in Evaluation, spanning developmental, autism spectrum, educational, psychiatric, personality, neuropsychological, and aptitude domains. I am also a Life CoachI work well with other professionals to provide an integrated care package, as needed.

Throughout the past 27 years, I have sojourned along side of families, compassionately supporting and assisting children, individuals, and parents through all stages of family life. I have been privileged to provide evaluation and intervention services within various educational, clinical, health care, and community organizations in the Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill area. Within these settings, I have admired the courage and resolve of parents, adults, couples, and children as they faced daunting and sometimes overwhelming challenges regarding their children, themselves, their relationships, and with family functioning. Yet, I have also witnessed their angst as they encountered the limitations of services within our community’s system of care. Often, available supports only partially addressed the needs of children, individuals and families. Moreover, most supports were not offered through an integrated approach, leaving families running from one support provider to another while struggling to apply inconsistent interventions in the context of an already jam-packed family schedule.

I resolved to develop a way to provide effective services while alleviating the weariness, unnecessary guilt, frustration, and discouragement that these families were experiencing. I was determined to make a change for these families, but I was limited within the organizations at which I worked.

I formed Greenleaf Psychological & Support Services (GPSS) in order to provide help, hope, and relief that in a way that works for all individuals and families.
