We had a terrific experience! Friendly and attentive staff, amazing food and reasonably priced. The owner is super nice as well and gave our daughter free ice cream before we left, treated her like a princess. Outstanding!
I am very picking on my breakfast, and wow everything was great. Will definitely be coming back..
Good food ! Excellent service !
Next time I’m in town I will come again
I just tried Great American for the first time and it was...well...great! My server was friendly and attentive, the Joe's Special scramble was really tasty, and the toasted buttery biscuit on the side hit the spot (I'm a southern boy and am particular about my biscuits, btw).
Welcome to the neighborhood; I'm looking forward to returning. More...
Just what we needed in W. Seattle. A place that serves breakfast! But they also serve a wide variety of your favorite comfort foods - like biscuits and gravy, nachos, prime rib, soups, sandwiches, burgers and homemade exotic ice cream (like mango and date-honey-almond). Good service, friendly staff, attentive owner. More...
The manager is awesome, very welcoming and personable! Staff is very friendly too. We will return.
Food is good. Servers are pleasant. Menu is ridiculously abundant, seriously, they have everything. Portions are definitely American sized. Been there a handful of times and we leave full and happy. There are a lot of televisions which can be overwhelming, but cartoons (no sound) keep kids content, football keeps others content, and the sound off keeps still others happy. Although, if ya wanna see the Seahawks with sound I'm sure that's a thing. Bright, airy interior. Large party accommodation, booths, sturdy chairs, all kinds of seating for all kinds of bodies. Since they opened, I have been to Great American Diner and Bar more often than I want to admit. Glen and his staff are awesome and attentive. Their food is top notch and their happy hour menu (especially for the prices they charge) is just flat out amazing. It's my goal to work my way through their lunch/dinner menu. If any business can break the curse of that corner, I believe it's this one. More...
Very nice staff and the chicken fried steak was fantastic. I am honestly concerned about the menu. It has waaaaay too many items on it, and I don't see how it could possibly be sustainable in the long run. The location is cursed ground, with at least half a dozen failed restaurants in the last 10 years. I think a big part of the problem for the location is lack of parking, which is only getting worse with the addition of so many new apartment buildings in the area. I really, really hope this one makes it, because the food is awesome! More...
Excellent food, and I mean excellent. Great ingredients, well prepared, good variety... Very helpful and courteous staff, and awesome drinks and beer on tap! Even some craft cocktails which is a plus. Big TVs, lots of space, nice window seats too. Was going to wait to write a review until I had a bad experience or two just in case, but it just hasn't happened.
Don't worry about the early reviews about service and the supposedly large menu. I've now ordered about half the menu so far and haven't had one problem with the food. Their staff seems to be getting settled and it feels like a homey, friendly, and fun place to go where the food is all good. I highly recommend it.
Oh, and the breakfast! Had that twice. Delicious both times. More...

Our whole family loves it here! Delicious food and so accommodating for families. We bring out of town guests and they are never disappointed. Thank you!!
Great food.. been here twice and will be back!!!! the menu is quite extensive and a good happy hour!!!
Good breakfast. They made my bacon crispy even though I forgot to ask. ++++. Our server was great. We had a party of 10 and she did a hell of a job.
I know people have had mixed experiences but we have always had a great time. The owner or manager is old fashioned as he tries to talk to each customer and make them happy. The servers can vary in excellence but if we ask they always provide. The ingredients are great, the happy hour is wonderful. The salmon is better than Anthony’s. More...
This is my kinda place. Basic cholesterol-inducing American breakfast all day, in the Junction? Yes, please! Serves drinks (in a mellow way), but has enough space to also accommodate family dining? Yes, please! Friendly, welcoming staff? Yes!
They have other stuff too, but I'm here for the eggs'n'French Toast at 6pm or 2pm or 10am on a random Thursday.
(Here's hoping the curse if the Northeast corner of California & Edmunds doesn't bite them. The bright open windows should help...but nothing since Godfather's has lasted more than a year or so. I want this one to stay, so come eat!) More...
