Shannon Gilmour is a top-notch designer with impeccable taste., Not only have I consulted with her for our family home, I also hired Shannon to create a sophisticated, on-brand home office for my business. What Shannon creates looks stunning and makes me feel like a powerhouse when I’m working in the space. I have gotten tons of complements from clients and colleagues who see me on video conferences as well. One thing I really appreciate about Shannon is she listens and respects my vision and budget and manages to work magic within those parameters. More...

Shannon Gilmour of Grace Interiors helped me to successfully decorate my second home on the cape in Chatham, MA. She pulled together a wonderful coastal palette of colors that are sophisticated, yet casual. We have been pleased with everything from her choice of furniture and art work to the staging of our bookcases. She has created a harmonious atmosphere throughout the house filling it with the things that we love for entertaining friends and family. She really listened to our needs and understood what we were looking for. I would highly recommend Shannon and would definitely use her again. More...

While there are a million decorators out there, there is only one Shannon Gilmour. I recently moved out of our long-time family home into a new house - I fell in love with the property but needed help making this new place my new "home". I called Shannon after reading an article about her in the Northshore Magazine and we met prior to my move.

When choosing a designer, I looked for someone who can not only visualize my space in ways that I cannot but also someone who understands both my style preferences and the needs of my family. Shannon helped me right from the get-go. She gave me suggestions on pieces in my old home that I should keep and helped me let go of pieces that just would not work. She took the time to get to know me better so she could understand my vision and meticulously melded them into a cohesive design. When designing my new space, every small detail was taken into consideration - from color, to scale, to furniture choices. We worked together as a team. When we didn't agree on a choice, she worked with me with utmost care and attention to come to a happy medium. I will confess, 9.9/10 times, she was absolutely right!

Once you are Shannon's client, she will put her heart and soul into your project. There is no "off" time for her. Decorating a new home can be stressful, but Shannon has an amazing, fun energy about her that makes the whole process so much lighter and easier, but still professional at all times. My new house is a work in progress and there isn't anyone else I would want to be working with to transform this space into my new home. She has a stellar eye, an understanding and creative mind, and the drive to get the job done.

At Landry & Arcari, we are fortunate to work with very talented interior designers, and Shannon is no exception. Combining an artist's flair with spacial sensibilities, Shannon manages to pull off designs that at once look effortless and yet represent a true reflection of her client's lifestyle. This is no easy feat. And yet Shannon always has a smile for us, an ever-present extension of her "can do" attitude. In short, she is a true delight to work with, and we value our working partnership immensely. More...

I recently worked with Shannon Gilmour of Grace Interiors on a project in my 1928 Tudor marrying old to new in the kitchen. I had hit a roadblock on the direction to take and so glad I called Shannon. She very decisively recommended the perfect solution resulting in an elegant and very dramatic look. Further, on the same day she traveled to the stone supplier and brought back the samples which were ultimately used, after I had looked at at least 20 before. She also redesigned my powder room with an exquisite honey onyx herringbone which turned that room into a veritable jewel box. Shannon has an impeccable eye, daring design which I wanted and ultimate and immediate attention to detail and service. I've already called her about another project. More...

Shannon takes the time to find out our styles. Initialy all three of us had a different vision of what the outcome was going to be. She helped us meld into a plan that we had never imagined we could have. What more can you ask of your designer? More...

I have had the pleasure of working professionally with Shannon in a number of her clients' homes. Shannon creates spaces that are both beautiful and functional, and her designs incorporate quality, and appropriately selected, window treatments that work with both her lovely decor choices and the functional needs of her client spaces. Fresh Paint & Blinds of Winchester provides the quality products Shannon likes to use in her designs (custom shutters, blinds, and shades), and I've installed many jobs for her. Shannon is professional and organized, and great fun to work with. I always know that working on a job with Shannon will result in beautiful spaces and happy clients. More...

Shannon is an exceptional woman---smart, clever, witty, kind, caring, extremely hard-working, and full of creative ideas. She is now helping me redo my Beacon Hill townhouse after my 37 years living with lovely but increasingly worn furniture and curtains . Whether it's fabrics or furniture, Shannon has exquisite taste and makes sure that I get some incredible deals through her excellent sources. All that, and she's fun to be with too! I could not recommend her more highly. More...

We're not especially wealthy but we wanted a nicer place than what we had. I had some reservations about using a designer as I was worried that one wouldn't really listen to us or our needs.

We found Shannon through Houzz and my husband and I are even more impressed after the first visit and speaking to her references. She was just what we needed. She brought a beautiful designer's eye to our home with good doses of honesty and vision. She had a well-founded designer's aesthetic and accurately called out when some pieces we had just couldn't mesh with what we actually wanted. She took into account our requests, pushed us when appropriate, and accommodated where it was needed. As an example, Shannon wanted to get rid of my husband's electric recliner, which was not going to work for him. Shannon made it clear that the look would be better without it. He made it clear that it was going to stay. Shannon got the message at the right time, and then changed the design to work with it. Everyone's happy.

We have worked with her in a mainly consultant capacity, but she definitely is flexible for whatever a client needs. As she's told us, she'll get your towels monogrammed if you want, or just help you figure out where to put your furniture or what color to paint your walls. She quickly adjusted to what we wanted (and didn't want!)

Shannon Gilmour, owner of Grace Interiors, is a marvelous and talented individual. She was able to help design my home while it was still under the construction phase. She devoted time in getting to know me and my family and how we lived. This allowed her to choose colors, textures and designs that made my new home not only beautiful, but one of a kind. We hired Grace Interiors to decorate our home. We wanted our space to feel warm, inviting "pulled together" but still child-friendly with three young children.
We had a lot of different styles that were competing with each other. Shannon immediately identified, clarified and solved these challenges. Her vision, artistic eye and attention to detail allowed her to transform our space with amazing efficiency, class and beauty.

I have worked with Grace Interiors on several occasions. We recently worked with Shannon on a home I was developing for a Lexington family. I am a General Contractor. I had purchased a very old home to be renovated and was planning to add a large addition for resale purposes.
Shannon brought a tremendous amount of creativity and suggested ideas, layouts, colors that we never thought of or imagined before. It's very satisfying to walk into the house and feel like the space truly reflects the new home buyer’s unique personalities, and not some design catalogue.
Shannon worked very well with the new home buyer and was incredibly patient with assisting them to make decisions, find a time to meet, and even helped oversee furniture deliveries, paint jobs, handled purchases, returns, and installations...we honestly couldn't have done this on our own without Shannon’s expertise, hard work, professionalism and kindness.
Shannon is just a fun, energetic person to work with. Dealing with budgets, contractor and delivery people is highly stressful, and she was always on top of it, always patient, always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything was handled properly, within timelines and budgets.
We couldn't speak more highly of Shannon. We love working with her and her creativity, we hope you get an opportunity to work with Grace Interiors!

Shannon of Grace Interiors has assisted several of my clients with the staging of their homes for sale. As a real estate agent, I turn to Shannon to help my clients show their homes in a way that will appeal to many buyers. Shannon works with what a client has and respectfully adds and subtracts to the space to make it up-to-date and pleasing. Her sense of style has definitely aided the quick sale of the homes she has worked on. I am confident in Shannon's ability to help homes that are for sale and also to help new home owners create the home of their dreams.

I have enjoyed working with Shannon first with a living room decorating project in my 1920s colonial and then later with a new construction when I was overwhelmed with details and decisions. With the older home, I was able to bounce my ideas off of her. She totally grounded me and gave me the confidence to go forward with the project by filling in the holes and adding some things I never thought of. By the time she left, I had the tools I needed to tackle the project on my own.

I usually describe Shannon as having my tastes but with a funkier edge. She listens to my thoughts and ideas, then takes them to the next level.

With my new construction, I needed to present a complete paint palette to my contractor in just a few days. Shannon swooped in and helped me narrow down my selections and suggested a few to even them out. After her help, I had a beautiful paint palette in my hands and the best part is that I now live with those colors and still love them! She also came up with an amazing three-dimensional tile backsplash for my new kitchen that is the perfect focal point. Having Shannon help with fabrics was a real time saver. After we had the color palette chosen, she came back with some amazing fabric samples that brought my paint colors together and worked well with the style of my home.

Grace Interiors saved my life! I recently moved from Dallas Texas known for everything plush and BIG. I moved into a warehouse type condo with brick and exposed piping ( not the typical Southern Style which I was used to). Grace Interiors transformed my "warehouse" type condo into a Southern Home full of personality and cozy warmth with her unique ways of how to place furniture, artwork to buying the perfect lamp for an awkward space. Shannon can also solve any "problem" given in your home. For example, I prefer to have my bedroom very dark and zen which made it hard to create as I have arch window's, however Shannon came up with the perfect plan and I feel like I am in zen every night! Shannon is not only creative, she's responsible, says what she's going to do and does it and on top of it all her personality is a delight to work with! More...

The only reason I am rating Grace Interiors four, rather than five, stars is because I have never used a home designer/decorator before and so I have no comparison! But I couldn't be happier with Shannon and Grace Interiors. Shannon helped my husband and me start from scratch in picking wall colors, wall coverings, floor stains, tile, rugs/runners, furniture, bedding...everything!....for every room in our newly purchased house outside of Boston that was in the middle of renovations. Shannon's vision helped us match everything to the style of the house and our personal style, and "tied everything together" in an eclectic, elegant yet casual way...and we are thrilled with the end result. What I most loved in working with Shannon (in addition to her vision/suggestion) are her direct and honest, yet kind and flexible demeanor and personal style. She is full of style!! More...

Wow, What can we say! We contacted Shannon from her article in a magazine. We had just moved from a contemporary to a 100 year old house on the water. Very little of our stuff fit the new house.
We have used decorators in the past and expected the standard trip to the Design Center. Not so.
Shannon listened well to our thoughts and executed them cost effectively and with "Grace". She is very creative and knows where to find things at the right price. She has become a good friend and the results have exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend her!

The day after our major house fire, Shannon was one of the very first people I called -- second only to a realtor for temporary housing. The project was daunting, and I knew she could offer tremendous artistic design and creativity, work quickly to stay ahead of the demo team and contractors, and … be a wonderful partner to get it done. She developed concepts and implemented designs for nearly every aspect of every room in our 5 bedroom, 5000 square foot home.
Shannon worked within our insurance budget and was very conscientious when considering feature areas or items to offer suggestions along a price continuum so that we could choose whether to spend more or less in a particular area. She introduced ideas, products, and resources that I now LOVE and never would have known about or even imagined without her. I so respect her resourcefulness in finding items not only in traditional places but also little-known boutiques and even TJ Maxx and Target!

For our southern Maine beach house, Shannon worked magic in two phases. In the early years, Shannon helped with paint colors and furniture layout using existing pieces and adding accessories and inexpensive artwork. Her changes were amazing! The entire first floor flowed so much better and looked more polished, integrated and inviting -- all with more flair, color & interest. With minimal cost, she had a huge impact -- and quickly!

Several years later, when gutting the first floor, Shannon was instrumental. She determined which walls to knock down and, most importantly, got us to move away from the typical beach-house white kitchen. We LOVE the results of her gentle, persistent nudging to consider a different vision. She coached us in using colors from the natural coastal area, found fantastic fabrics at reasonable prices, re-used much of the existing furniture, suggested high-impact design elements, and overall created a flowing, beautiful, peaceful space. She only had to visit the house maybe 3 times and yet was extremely effective despite distance. We're so grateful for her talent, expertise, and efficiency. We'll definitely rely on Shannon again in a few years when renovating the 2nd floor.
