great staff affordable membership
I went yesterday cause I was visiting the town of Fishkill and my experience was 100% great . The staff and the members are very respectful and you can found all the machines that you need plus crossfit equipment... I recommend this gym no doubt!!
Gold’s gym in Fishkill, NY, pleasant staff as soon as you check in. Spacious upper and lower levels. Various exercises classes with Zumba. Interesting equipment. 24 Hr availability. Has a separate lady’s section. Reasonable pricing. More...
I’ve been going here for 5+ years now & have never had a problem. The staff is friendly & knowledgeable and the facilities are always clean & well maintained. Some of the gym patrons are obnoxious, but I certainly can’t blame them for that. I couldn’t recommend Gold’s Gym Poughkeepsie any more! More...
Awesome Gym that offer Law Enforcement discounts and are open 24Hrs a day Monday to Friday
Great place to loose weight!
love the indoor track and the weight room area is good.
State of the art, accessible. I play racquetball.
This is one of the best Gold's I've been to. Lots of equipment and space so you never feel crowded. Lots of TVs and even a running track! Wish this one was located in NOVA.
Great place to work out.. many options
This gym has tons of space and equipment! I love the heavy bags and the trainers are challenging. Great place to work out.
I've been a member of Gold's for years and it is by far my favorite gym. The staff is wonderful and always friendly, some even know my name if I forget to bring my key-tag. I had a trainer in the past and used to part take in the small group training classes. I had to stop my training due to conflicts with work but the trainers are highly recommended. They are extremely helpful and around if you have any questions. The gym continues to make improvements and even started adding in new equipment. I was told more equipment is on the way as well! I love my yoga community at Golds Gym! The teachers are incredible and each and everyone of them brings something unique and special to their classes. They are inspiring on and off the mat! I have also made amazing friends through my yoga classes. It is not just an exercise class. It is a group of people who come together to talk, to share, to lift each other up and I feel so blessed to be a part of it! More...

Awesome workout facility
It's friendly place to work out!
I have used almost every gym in the area and this one is the best.. friendliest staff and best overall facility. Dont bother with any other in area.
Very accommodating gym, great staff, plenty of classes and spots to get a quick, or extensive workout! Go Golds!!!
Awesome gym I am a member
Great gym great customer service every time inforget my card they just let me sign in I love the atmosphere of the gym because it's just so comfortable theirs a boxing room a cardio room and a place where I can deadlier but it's very crowded in January with new year comers but they don't last long usually about two weeks but overall it's a great gym and has wonderful customer service I strongly suggest coming here to workout box or work on your cardio
Bonito lugar para disfrutar, jugando fútbol
Staff is unbelievable, gym is amazingly clean
Friendly staff, great classes but the locker rooms need to be more clean
Great gym! Love the classes but parking is a nightmare! I don't mind a walk because I go to work out but when I have to carry my baby with his car seat in the rain or snow it's a HUGE inconvenience and pain in the butt! I wish they would let you use the doors on the other end of the building or make parent with kids parking upfront! More...

Great classes!! Really clean and well equipped.
I like that’s there is something for everyone to do there no matter your age or ability

Best time to go is early morning between 8 and 10. After that it's too crowded.
First let me start with the disclaimer that "I am NOT a gym person"! I always find them to be intimidating but at this point in my weight loss journey it is a necessary evil LOL. I joined PF in Newburgh a few months ago and it is what it is. However I decided to try GG out because it is closer to home. It's been about 2 months so far and I absolutely love this place. The facility is truly top notch & they're still improving. I felt very awkward going in the first couple of times because I've always imagined GG to be a gym for really hard-core enthusiasts but it wasn't like that at all. If you open yourself up enough to talk to the people there, they're all extremely helpful in making sure you get the most out of your experience. From showing me how to use the equipment to explaining all the classes in detail and even getting information on diet and nutrition. All of the information that I've gotten from this journey has been nothing but helpful and I've actually gotten to the point where I feel comfortable going. More...
Amazing selection of classes. Kidzone. Expensive but worth it if you go regularly.Wish the kidzone and classes were offered Saturday and or Sunday nights.
Absolute best gym I have ever been in. It is very clean and there is so much to do. There is even a room just for women in here. The women's changing room was so big and clean. There were saunas in there and so many showers. The upstairs had a cardio theater as well and other private rooms that you could rent. It was absolutely amazing. It is unfortunately out of budget though but I'm not docking my rating because of that. The only actual issue I did find was that every once in awhile, the pool would be unusable and I really enjoyed the water Zumba classes they offered. Then we'd hop in the hot tub after that class. It was just a shame that every once in awhile (For some reason, I do not know why), the pool would just be unusable. More...

Very nice instructors and clean place to work out
It’s a great way to get fit and stay healthy.
Reasonably priced and friendly staff.
Great place to work out. Plenty of room lots of equipment
excellent gym,friendly atmosphere.
Love this gym. Ignore the reviews about bad employees I've been going for a year now and couldn't be happier. Machines break and they fix them! They only know about problems that are reported so make sure to tell them what machine needs work no matter how small. More...

Impressive family services destination. Very large sports arenas. Worth a visit to check it out if u live w/I 30 mins drive
I came in to talk memberships and the salesman seemed uninterested and lazy. I left frustrated and disappointed. I then reached out to management and Mark (manager) helped me out and has been great ever since. The only disappointment here is the pricing of the drinks and memberships (especially the single location limitation) but the front desk staff has always been welcoming and the variety of equipment is great! Great Gym, Good Space and Equipment
Great facility. Parking isn't always available. As a mom of little kids I sometimes wish I could park closer to the entrance, but those spaces are few and far between.
Clean and friendly atmosphere, very large spacious facility
Great facility with lots of equipment, friendly environment and staff.
Good place to go to keep New year's resolutions
Amazing fields, amazing price, amazing courts, overall awesome
Been going to Golds while doing the BetterU program thru American Heart Association. I absolutely love it. First time ever in a gym and it has been the best experience. Both Lagrange and Fishkill have been awesome in helping us !!! In Fishkill been work with Sean and Lindsay for trainers and love the classes I’ve tried!!! Both facilities are great !!!!! #HVBetterU #GoRedHV I highly recommend Golds !!! More...
Using Gold’s gym for the BetterU program for the American Heart Association. I’ve never been to a gym and everyone has been fabulous. They are teaching me so much. Classes are fun even if you r like me (out of shape and o er weight) the instructors have been great. Also using a trainer to teach me about the equipment and she has been amazing. I’m utilizing both Fishkill and Lagrange and would highly recommend both !!!! It has been a great experience and put my fears of gyms to rest ! More...

Great atmosphere , equipment is taken care of and gym is clean
Very good small group training classes. Personal yet with a community feel. Trainers are knowledgeable and welcoming.
I love this gym...I love the variety of classes. Spin is my favorite at Golds. The childcare is great and my children always want to go back!
I've never seen so many different exercise machines and/or equipment in a gym before. The place is huge so even during busy hours there's still plenty of room for you to get a mostly uninterrupted workout in. Gym is very clean, and the equipment always works. I've never paid an additional maintenance fee before at any other gyms, but this gym is also much better than the others I've belonged to (LA Fitness, Planet Fitness) so even if it is more expensive you're at least getting your monies worth. Excellent facilities, decently maintained machines, very clean and nice separate women's exercise room. Upper section with ellipticals and a running track. Great space!

Love this gym... been a member over 10 years and going to the classes and working out with the professional trainers. Worked out with 4 and most recently Fabrice! Thank you for keeping me focused
Very good small group training classes. Personal yet with a community feel. Trainers are knowledgeable and welcoming.
Beautiful group of people. Mike at the front desk is awesome and deserves a raise. GiGi is awesome too. Just a group of people I want to see at my gym
I really don't get everyone's complaints. I've been to several gyms within my area and this is by far best one I've been to. I've been coming to this Golds before work for years. They've had all the right equipment and I've never and any issue with the staff in the morning. And their custodian Rick is and awesome guy. He's always willing to say good morning to the guests. My DH and I signed up several Months ago after being members of PF for 6 years and finding our workouts getting unmotivated and stagnant. Its a great gym. It has everything you could want and more from a gym. You can never get bored with your workout..Zumba class one day, cardio on machines in the theatre room the next, free weights and then the boxing room the next day. Whatever you want.Definitely a serious weight lifters gym, but I've never felt intimidated. I don't mind the dropped weights, grunts etc..people pushing themselves is not Always pretty looking or sounding..but shoot it can be motivational to watch these people work out.Even if there are cars parked in the grass, I have never had issues being able to find a machine or free weights to use. So don't be unnerved by the popularity, a lot of times it's the classes that contain a majority of those people and there's actually tons of stuff available. They offer childcare. I don't know there is an extra cost, but it's there. The shake bar is good and the people working it are knowledgeable. They will answer questions and make recommendations.Full basketball court, pool, track and racquetball courts.Locker room is clean, has a sauna and steam room as well as private shower in each locker room.Only missing out on the 5 Stars because of the hours of operation on the weekends. If I work 7-4..it gives me very little time to run home let the dog out and change. Sometimes work keeps me late an hour or so and I miss working out. They close at 7p Sat and Sun. I will agree the water doesn't taste very good either from the fountain. And side note- if ya see a big person working out, please don't judge, you don't know my weight loss journey and don't know how much I've dropped already. We will seek advice and guidance when we need it from gym trainers. More...
Love Golds Gym Newburgh! It's truly an entire fitness and nutrition center; much more than just a gym. The owners are friendly and very involved with the business and they have dumped a ton of money into this place over the last few years. The GGX and Alloy classes are great. There is a ton of equipment to use, I almost never have to wait for something. They are always adding something new and seeking feedback for improvement. No gym in the area comes close to this Gold's. More...

I think the gym is wonderful. This staff is awesome and it is very clean. I only found one piece of equipment to be broken which is expected in such a large establishment.
This Gold's is a great gym. It's usually not too crowded, probably because it's so large. The locker room is very clean and spacious, the trainers are knowledgeable and helpful, and the equipment is high-quality and plentiful. It's a bit pricier than some gyms, but well worth it. More...
Lou, Dre and Elvira have been so great. The place is clean and not crowded. So far so good.

Great size good equipment..Love being able to do what I want!!
Good equipment, everyone seems to mind their own business. Facility is clean and constantly improving. Thanks for adding a second lifting platform.
Great spacious gym with a large variety of equipment and an excellent training staff.
Es un lugar bonito para los que jugan futbol de 7 .
Very open. Lots of room. A variety of equipment. My only wish is that some of the equipment be updated as well as some interior.
Largest Golds Gym in the nation. A lot to offer. Very competitive prices. I would highly consider no matter what your gym style or goals are.
Friendly environment, dedicated staff, hard working individuals
Buenas canchas de soccer

The crew is very personable, I signed up and one of the staff members went above and beyond to assist me. Thanks AlVera you are great!!!
Nice place friendly people the staff is Awesome Everybody helps everyone The trainers are the best A large gym with a lotta activities going on adults and kids
Great place to be. Golds gym is hands down the best gym in the area. Love that they're updating all of their clubs!
Great environment love the gym classes. Instructors are very encouraging. Definitely worth the monthly fee to join this gym!!
They just completed upgrades to the locker rooms and it's a great improvement. The weight room is busy but I can always get a workout in

Very clean and a great atmosphere. The staff is very help and goal oriented. One of the best environments I've had a chance to workout at. Very affordable too
So Golds Gym in the Hudson Valley is great but I have to start a petition to have the hours changed. The closing time on Saturday needs to be at least 10pm. People have busy schedules and not being able to work out on Saturdays because of the 7pm closing time just isn't cutting it. Please think about this request. More...

I prefer the morning crew who are always glad to see you, starting with Brittany at the desk, Chris, who keeps everyone in line & Nate who is always challenging me. Patrons in the morning want to be there for the workout, not the socializing that goes on after 5. Showers are usually clean, and when they not, the maintenance crew takes care of it pretty quickly. So why does management remove instructors that we love I don't understand your logic? It always seems that this happens only in the Fishkill gym , its like we are the step child that gets all the leftovers Its just not fair to the paying fishkill members! We also would like to have classes that the Poughkeepsie and Newburgh gym has, for example yoga and Pilates, especially in the evening I think its time that you need to give us what the other gyms have! So please STOP removing the instructors that keep us motivated and that make it fun FOR US ! More...
Love love love Golds gym all of them are amazing with so much to complete your workouts!
This Gold's has a questionable rep from folks and other reviews, but it's actually fine.I come here for a few months out the year, and although some equipment needs to be fixed and updated, there are some very good pro's. The staff are knowledgeable and busy, the price is borderline decent, the classes seem well, the space is good even though it could be a bit bigger, and the parking is in a plaza so you're fine there. The cons... As mentioned, the machines could be fixed/upgraded, a few more deals in regards to personal trainers/class. All in all, this place is fine and the main intention is the get fit so they'll give you all the ingredients to do so. More...

This place has really come a long way! Its nice to see a place put money back into their business for their members! Only reason its not a 5 is because of how busy it is with the new members.
This is by far the best gym and way better than Planet Fitness! This gym has much more to offer-classes, kid zone, merchandise, lots of machines, shake bar, free weights, and lots of community events to keep you motivated. Not to mention the Fit Rewards, all for a reasonable price. The employees are super nice and really work with you on membership plans so that you get the best deal. They always have a membership promotion every month. I only pay $34.99 per month and I love it. I had an overdue balance and they still treated me with respect, which is hard to find in other gyms or even credit unions. The late charges were all waived, they took off 3 months that were over-due out of the 5, and all I needed to do was pay the 2 remaining overdue payments and the first month, to re-enroll my membership. I was even able to keep the monthly fee at $34.99 which is what I used to pay previously. They really work with you and your specific needs suited to each person individually. Thank you employees at Fishkill, for all you do, and thanks for a great gym with a great workout experience! More...
I haven't been able to find a better gym in the Hudson Valley. There are machines covering every surface of this huge gym. You can workout the entire month and never use the same machine twice. The movie theatre aerobics room is great not only for the movies but also the freezing air conditioning. The locker room is not a highlight but the showers and lockers work. I haven't used the pool or the childcare but they got that here too. I just wish it was open 24 hours. More...

When I do go . The staff is OK. The lady golds is the place to be ..Let the gym rats have the floor.. it's a nice social club.
I can't say much about the gym, but they have a great summer day camp program for kids. Setup in one week intervals my daughter had a great time a science camp, dance camp, craft camp and a world culture camp. (They offer many week long sports camps, but she wasn't interested in that.) More...

The front desk staff are welcoming and never push anything outside of how's your day, which i really appreciate. The equipment is well kept up with and work orders seem to get repaired very quickly. Not so fab like Marikina and Galle but this is definitely good for people who would like to work out right after work.
Great gym. I travel for work and I have worked out at numerous franchise gyms from coast to coast (24 hr, Golds, LA Fit, NYSC, Retro, etc..) Newburgh Gold's is easily my favorite. I used to live in the area and was a member for years. I have since moved away. That being said, I still make a point of dropping in for a workout when I get a chance. I get a sense of nostalgia each time. Staff and members alike say hello and catch up. To echo what the reviewer Carole D. said "...big crazy family which you are privileged to be a part of." They even host a great holiday party each year with members and staff!Great staff, stacked with equipment, and overall an awesome facility. Plenty of bars, weights, and machines for everyone to use even during peak hours. I would highly recommend this location to everyone from your class-goer and weekend warrior to your competing athlete. More...
One of my favorite things about this gym is how spread out things are. Depending on my mood, I can choose equipment in higher or lower energy levels as I need. I'm having a high energy day? I use the machines overlooking the basketball courts. Low energy? One of the machines overlooking the lobby. I come in for personal training with Gillian twice a week and love it (something I never thought I would say)! She pushes me harder and farther than I would ever do on my own, and I have the confidence to use more machines and equipment that intimidated me in the past. Why only 4 stars? Well, I don't like that they don't have a stricter clothing policy. I've watched people working out in street or work shoes. I end up cleaning things a lot more than I have in other gyms. More...
Gym layout is so strange - they have this indoor track that cuts through the weight floor. They got a rogue squat rack/rig which is awesome. Great functional lifting space where you can deadlift/oly lift, calisthenics etc. awesome group fitness classes. Too bad Lagrange and fishkill members can't go there for free anymore. Really bad communication around that, but from the way it was explained to me, LG and FK are at fault. More...
I've been here for a couple of years. I'm a crossfitter who needed an alternate gym so I can also do my own thing, and for convenient hours. Given the gyms in the area, both CrossFit and conventional, it's my favorite. It isn't perfect. The trainers are some of the worst I've seen in my life. It can be difficult to find a place to do anything functional, and the trainers think they are gods and will tell you to move or not use certain equipment because they need it. There's only one squat rack and one power rack so good luck if you need one of them. They used to have bumper plates but they broke and never got replaced, and the boot camps often use them for dumb stuff that doesn't require a bumper. The free weight section looks as though it was designed by someone who doesn't work out - it just isn't logical (eg some of the benches are so close to pillars or other equipment they're difficult to load, the smith machine has more surrounding space than the power rack, etc). They do have lots of equipment - good foam rollers that are actually dense, a wall you can throw med balls at, and so on. Les Mills classes are great but for some reason Lagrange got all the boring instructors - the better ones are in Newburgh and fishkill for the most part. Gym is always clean, front desk staff is usually friendly and helpful, general manager is great. More...
Decent gym layout. There's room to do functional stuff, Olympic lift, and so on. Great group fitness. It's usually warm there, which I like personally. Free weights section is kind of cramped. Their barbells are terrible - they don't spin well so be careful if you are oly lifting. More...
I was there all day for a Les Mills training. It's a great facility! I love the group fitness room! The staff was very friendly. Danielle, who was there for the training too, gave me a nice little tour. At the end of an amazing day, I enjoyed a delicious PB caramel smoothie that tasted like a Snickers as promised. Thank you for hosting the Les Mills mini-quarterly training event! I hope to return for more training events like this. More...

Great place to train, wonderful staff and plenty of equipment, not over run by cardio machines like most gyms these days. All they need is a pool.
Let's face it, going to the gym can be an intimidating experience for some. Encountering any of these people (dailyburn.com/life/fitne…) can keep newer gym-goers away. While you are certainly going to encounter folks of that caliber at any gym, the experience at Gold's Gym in Fishkill is a pleasant one for newbies and experienced gym folk, alike. The staff is top-notch in helping you get in shape via personal training, answering any questions you may have, or suggesting which post-workout shake to consume based on your fitness needs. They are very friendly and courteous; always a plus in my opinion. There are a myriad of group classes to participate in, in addition to the individually tailored personal training sessions. Upstairs features some cardio equipment which overlooks the facility, including a movie-viewing room for those who wish to find some sort of escape while they sweat profusely all over the treadmill. There are machines and free-weights galore; ones you don't have to wait for providing you stay away during peak hours (5pm-7pm comes to mind). Need a post-workout shake? Saddle up to the shake bar and order away. Preparing for a vacation or are you just as pale as a jar of mayonnaise? Hit the on-site tanning booths.Gold's has a lot for those who are looking to get the most out of their time at the gym. This, again, counts not only the experienced, but also the not-so-sure who need that little spark to ignite their proverbial fire. Overall, a great establishment. More...
Love this gym! The place is massive, and it has so much to offer. The classes are great, and I thoroughly recommend taking a few. You won't be disappointed. My favorite part of this gym, bar far, is the sauna. It feels great either before or after your workout, and has amazing health benefits! The only bad thing I can say about this gym is that it's parking lot frequently gets crowded at its peak hours, and that most of the showers won't warm up for a good while... Other than that, it's a great place! Plus, a gym membership will get you access to any Gold's gym in the area, so if you don't absolutely love one gym, you can check out the variety of others! They're all different :) More...

Great facility great people machines are well maintained
When my wife and I were in the process of joining Golds we were told that it was more of a "guys gym" than anything else and that this location was small and lacked the amenities of a similar gym just down the road. After having been a member here for the last few months I'm not sure what these people were talking aboutIf your workouts consist of weights and the occasional cardio (treadmill, elliptical, rowing machine, etc) then you'll be completely satisfied. If you're more into classes (yoga, aerobics, spin, boot camp, etc) then you're all set here as well. The gender specific designation of this gym is absolutely not true. Sure on the main floor the numbers are skewed towards men, but if you look at the overall picture its pretty much even. They also have "Lady's Golds" which is a women only workout room isolated from the rest of the gym and for women who prefer to avoid the creeper peeper men more interested in scouting them out than actually working out.For those interested, there's a boxing room, and the men's locker room has a nice sauna for pre and post workouts. Full showers are available for those who need to not smell like they've just been to the gym as well. Can it get crowded? Sure, but not more so than other local competitors. Even on the most jam packed days I've always been able to get a workout in without a problem. For those who need pools, and basketball courts you can always hop over to the other branch in Lagrangeville (included in this membership)Overall a solid gym choice and something for every type workout personality. Not just a guys gym! More...
I was actually very surprised. Did you Missouri good sized well had all the appropriate equipment very clean. Staff was very friendly. It was a joke basketball court. Entrance fee for four people was only $25 so they're not trying to rip you to fuck off which is nice. And we got shakes made and the shakes are good. I recommend this place More...
Everything in here is brand new, which is nice! The staff is super friendly and it's never been packed whenever I've gone. True this place is slightly higher priced than other places, but not by a lot. It's definitely worth it. And the lap pool is well taken care of! If recommend this gym, even for beginners. I'm just getting back into working out after a year off and everyone still is nice. There really aren't your typical meatheads here. More...
To start with on any given day I have a complaint about something,(hence only four stars). We can all review the machines, the cleanliness, and the instructors, ( the best in the Valley), but everyone has done that. Let us talk about the club. People care. The staff cares. The members care. They hug you when you are sad. They rejoice your triumphs. They miss you when you are gone. Sometimes you might even get a well-intentioned scolding. Some might say they are like this big crazy family which you are privileged to be a part of. Planet Fitness, I think not! More...
Can't believe how much we enjoy belonging to this gym. The staff is friendly & helpful- The instructors are the best as well as the Personal trainers. Everyone is so supportive. Very clean facility as well. More...
My sanctuary. Most of the staff is very pleasant and welcoming. The male manager is extremely dry, less than friendly and matter-of-fact. The equipment here is pretty good however, there's always at least 1 Stepper out of order at any given time. The pool, hot tub and sauna are well kept. More...
Very glad I made the move here after Planet Fitness Wappingers removed most of their free weights. Friendly employees and decent equipment.
Great gym and if you're looking for one on one training or group Nate Dean is the way to go. They also have a great staff that are interested in their clientele.
I've been working out 3-5x a week since college with results that kept sliding closer and closer to the "overweight" category, then into what WebMD tells me is "obese"!Body Pump and Gold's Gym with Dante, John, Martina, Moses, and everyone really made the difference.I'm sure you read the words "changed my life" but I have to share this with you: The month I joined, I had taken my girlfriend to a state park for horseback riding, and, no kidding, the attendants told me they might not have a horse that could carry me."We have a 250lb limit," they told me.It was humiliating when, that August, I climbed on a scale at the state park and the attendant looked down at my 283, sighing, "well, we have one draft horse that we can puut you on...."Well, that experience is behind me. I joined Gold's, and, while it's a daily set of choices that I make to be healthy, I have been as low as the 190s, well more than halfway of my goal to reaching a "normal" body-mass index. When I joined, all my clothes were XXL. Now I wear L, and it's getting a little loose! The men and women of Gold's make a huge difference in my life. That girlfriend, she's now my wife, and we work out together every chance we get, in Pump, Spin, and the Cardio Cinema and the pool. Thank you, Gold's Gym! More...
fishkill golds gym is definitely smaller than the newburgh golds but there is one important difference that keeps me going back; the culture. from the get you you feel that the members are there to train and no socialize which any serious athlete can appreciate. its has good equipment and its not jammed in together like in newburgh, the stuff is in pretty good shape and the dumbells arent in shambles. Amazing place to work out the Energy is off the hook .... love everyone here
Cardio cinema is dynamite! They don't even have this in la I've never seen this before. We can watch movies while Doing cardio! That's great!
Big, good equipment, friendly staff, but 3 stars due to the amount they charge for a visit / pass. $15/day for week days, $25/day for weekends (really?), or $50/week. This is outrageous. Next time I'm here visiting I might try another gym.Giving it a 4th star due to the great classes and shake bar. Hard to come by at gyms. And while this doesn't excuse the horribly high pass rates - it makes it a tad bit more bearable. More...
I have been a member for over a year now and have tried pretty much all the classes and have a personal trainer. Overall, I am happy with being a member. I have had no rude interactions with anyone there, staff or patrons. I like the enjoy the classes both the GCX and the personal training classes. The trainers are great. I will say that the women's locker room can at times be gross as one person mentioned and recently, as in two weeks ago, I wanted to use a treadmill but about 4 were broken. Overall, I am happy. Golds gym is very good health senter
Still my favorite gym. It's nice to have a variety of straight bars and ez curl bars in some 2.5 pound increments. Not many of the clubs I have been to offer that. I like being around other gym-goers who take working out seriously. I suppose it could be intimidating for novices but the numerous classes and nice trainers are helpful for beginners! More...
I love the Lady Gold Room - it is a peaceful place to defuse at the end of a busy work day...the atmosphere is so calming I look forward to exercising - what could be better!!
The Fishkill branch is what's getting the 5 stars. All the trainers their are personable and the layout is far better than the Lagrange branch which is a joke. Lagrange I'd give maybe 2 stars. Trainers could care less about anyone but who's in their classes to the point of disrupting everyone else's training with their soccer mom programs. More...
Nice facility and training atmosphere. Everything you need for a functional training session.
Easily the best part of my day-Corey Phillips is an awesome trainer!

My happy place!
I love the classes!
Great place to work out. Friendly people, grey staff, great trainers. Awesome place!
I love working out here!
Gigantic gym with indoor basketball courts, running track, and soccer fields. Some equipment is old, but it does the job. The locker rooms are clean, but can be cleaner or upgraded. Some people usually do not wipe down the machines or benches with the provided alcohol wipes, I tend to, by habit, wipe down all machines before I use them. The staff is cold and distant, some are more friendly than others.Generally, it's a good gym for the area. More...
It is one of the biggest gyms in the area. I want to highlight the mentality and accessibility. The staff is helpful, the trainers I have worked with are knowledgable and professional. Their rates are a little steep but if you want to work out and get in shape it is worth it. They also have a Fit Rewards Program for members. There is wheelchair parking and bathroom/locker room access. Depending on your disAbility many of the machines will work but some are not easy to use, again depending on your disAbility. HOWEVER:If you have an obvious need before you write them off go talk to them about what you need access to if you have a disAbility. They will listen and try to work with you so you can get in the gym and get in better shape or maintain your shape. There are some classes available that are useful for those with disAbilities but the studios on the first floor and the racquetball courts have only step access. Please take a tour with one of their sales staff and see if this works for you. They have a yoga studio and an additional multi-purpose room on the second floor for wheelchair dance and/or yoga/Pilates. There is an elevator. They don't currently offer any of these classes specifically to those with disAbilities but if you talk to the Instructors they may be able to help you. Their basketball court is also accessible. So, go check it out. The have more to offer than most gyms in the area. Their Fishkill gym is 24 hours on most days of the week. There is no elevator in the Fishkill gym but most of the machines you need are on the first floor if you cannot access steps. More...
Great gym. I've enjoyed membership intermittently since 1989. Ownership is constantly making improvements. The facility was expanded and renovated within the past 10 years. The equipment is so well maintained, you'd never know I remember most of it from back in '89. The staff is ALWAYS helpful and friendly. Since there are toooo many varied activities, numerous classes, programs and amenities for me to mention here, it would be an injustice for me to even try. Please find their web or fb page to learn more. I would unhesitatingly recommend this gym to anyone and plan to continue my membership for as long as I live in the area. More...
Gold's Gym has a lot of nice features (pool, basketball court, smoothie bar, a cardio theather). The atmosphere is inviting and friendly. Although the membership fees seem a bit pricey at first, the classes alone are worth the money. As far as the classes go, my favorites are RPM and Body Pump. I am looking forward to trying Yoga and Boxing in the near future. Gold's has become a part of my routine that I always look forward to. More...
Great gym. Knowledgeable, friendly trainers and staff. Good selection of weight training machines, equipment, classes. Clean women's sauna, steam, locker rooms. Haven't been in men's but hear these are just as well maintained.Even at busy times, there seems to be enough space for everyone. Friendly vibe among members too, whether you're new to the gym, a regular, or serious about body building.Went to another local gym for ten years and liked it - but this one is something else. Just feels like home. And the protein shakes at the bar are really good..... More...
Gold's gym is the best chain gym I've found in STL. The differnent locations makes working out convenient wherever you are in STL. My only issue with the Fenton location was the several months back their was no hot water. THis continued for what seemed like 6 months despite management's knowledge of the issue. Everyone was really ticked! Other than that I have really enjoyed being a member. More...
Great gym, very big with plenty of equipment. Pool, classes, basketball court, racket ball court & a track. I do recommend.
Pretty big gym with a lot of amenities (i.e. pool, basketball court, sauna, variety of classes...). Really enjoy the Cardio Theater! You can catch a lot of newly released movies in there, but at times they'll show some old ones as well. The place can get crowded on weekend mornings (I'm guessing because of the classes...), but I rarely have problems getting on a elliptical or a weight machine.Membership fee seems kinda high (around $50/month), but I guess it's worth it for one of the nicer gyms around the area. This gym is a lot smaller than its local affiliates (Poughkeepsie sister has a soccer field and 2 restaurants inside it; Newburgh sister has a pool inside of it), but it is far from cramped. When you check in, the front desk clerks are almost always friendly and helpful. Great tip - you can get a bottle of water for $1 if you forget yours which is close to the tanning salons (and the orange tanning salon clerks have never been helpful or seem like they have a clue), but regardless, ignore them and go to the helpful gym desk clerks. In regards to the people who sign you up for a membership, I kinda feel that they're not always completely honest with membership terms and what the scoop is, but I will say that this gym has a LOT less fine print and red tape than Planet Fitness (comparing that gym to this gym is night and day, and you're about to see why).A previous user had mentioned to avoid looking at the mirrors when you're walking in but honestly, Contrary to what the previous poster said, the gym is very segmented and spacious so no one notices you when you walk in - which is the opposite of how I used to feel at other cramped, local gyms. Also contrary to the previous poster, the main floor is NOT all weight lifting. If you go all the way to your left, this is what they call "classic gold's", you will see a lot of buff guys there and a lot of 'diesel girls' there (I often like to peek over there because what those girls can do makes me realize that I have a long way to go! I can't even do ONE pull up!) There's an empty floor section by the Classic Gold section that has a bunch of Kettlebells, bosu (sp?) balls, resistance bands and a lot of other cool stuff for core workouts. In case you like working out with kettlebells, make a note of this b/c this is the only place where they are. Next to Classic Golds are about 10 cardio machines, all of them with televisions on them (about 6 treadmills, 2 ellipticals and 2 of those 360 gliders). There's also a couple of PT bikes near by too. Towards the right, the room is split - on your right, there are your typical nautilis, circuit machines, which can be good but I prefer what's on the left, the cable balanced weight lift machines (that puts separate but equal pressure on each of your limbs instead of using one solid piece of metal to distribute the weight). Haven't seen any other gym in the area that uses it and I think it's great. Behind this area is the GGX class room - which offers everything you can imagine from strength training classes, dance classes, zumba, kick boxing...all for free! You have to pay extra for Yoga but at $4 a class, it's much cheaper than the per class cost at local Yoga studios.Upstairs is the RPM room (spinning class). You always have to sign up in advance and it's intense but everyone I know who takes it loves it! Walk past this room and you'll see a wide array of cardio equipment, new and old. You have a wide variety of stuff to choose from, and even though the machines are close together, you never feel 'up in somebody's biz'. There's a bunch of tvs and great music stations and Gold Gym itself offers a great motivational music channel. The cardio cinema room is my favorite! Did you know that if no one else is in the room, you can request them to restart the movie from the beginning? It's so great in there, and just a tip, if the movie is a little too slow to work out hard to, pop your ipod in for some motivational music! When you go downstairs next to the Cardio Cinema room, you'll see the boxing room (which they offer regularly and is a very great price for what you get!!) and then there is the Ladies Gold room. It's a great place to work out free weights or have a bunch of equipment close by at your disposal but a word of advice, 1.) it can get unbearable when it gets crowded in there, especially if you're in the zone and 2.) the A/C seems to be off in there 50% of the time. From the Ladies Gold room, you can walk into the locker room. A very great, always clean locker room that I only have one complaint about - it's not really segmented enough to allow for you to have some privacy getting dressed/undressed away from other people. I don't participate in the paid, small group training or personal training packages but I have done demo classes and the instructors are always great and energetic. They have a great deal going on now that makes their small group training classes very affordable. Also, for $52/month, you can get membership to all 3 of the local Golds in the area-including the one I mentioned earlier with the pool and the soccer field. :) Lastly, never be afraid to ask for help. Contrary AGAIN to what the previous poster said, everyone at Gold's has always been amazingly helpful which is why I've been a member there for 3 solid years. Gold's is a warm place that offers a lot of different options to stay in shape, either by yourself or with a group. Definitely give Gold's a chance - you won't be sorry!!! More...

This is my third year anniversary with them to the day so I guess they are doing something right. I like to go when it's not crowded, that means in the morning first thing. It's a nice gym if you can ignore the gawkers pretending to work out. I'm a cardio and pilates fanatic so that's where you'll find me. But the best thing they have to offer, besides the group trainers is their wide selection of free weights. Don't feel intimidated, use them, you can't get it at home unless you're a millionaire. Speaking of, the monthly fee, I feel is a lot. But I keep going anyway. It's clean, lots of stuff to choose from workout wise and the sauna and showers are a plus.I say give it a try. It will either click for you or you'll hate it and go elsewhere. If you're good with going to the gym frequently and like a fully equipped, get in shape atmosphere this is the gym for you. More...
I was a member of Energy and it closed down with no notice, so when I found out Golds took over the memberships, I tried it out and have been ever since. Before this I was at Crunch and Crunch went bankrupt and closed down 2 or 3 clubs. My boyfriend was a member of Idol and they went out of business overnight. Gold's environment is just more comfortable than the want to be spas that have tried to populate hotels and condos. South Beach Golds is where I workout and love it. I recommend Gold's, their equipment expertise is better and they have designed areas for women and really custom machines that I never had at other clubs. More...
The new equipment in their studios and on the floor is very cool. They are open 24 hours when no one else is and this Golds Gym has some very specialized studios with great instructors not found anywhere else. Try their abs classes and enroll for a whole body vibration class and you will open up new ways to keep your fitness interesting. Thanks to Golds I have lost 6lbs since Christmas and am on my way to accomplishing my first goal. Barbara. More...
Definitely a brand new gym and still has that 'squeaky-clean-new' feeling to it. The set-up is very Globo-gym. You half expect to see Ben Stiller walk out in a purple one piece. Walking in to the main floor, you walk by the open setup of weightlifting machines, past a long wall of mirrors (try not to look if you're feeling frumpy), and finally down the hallway towards the locker rooms. No sneaking into this gym! Everyone sees you as you walk in! Slightly intimidating for the first time visitor. The main floor is all weight-lifting - about a third is full of free weights, and the rest are nautilus(like?) machines arranged in a circle. In the center of the circle is where most trainers have their trainees doing interesting personal training exercises while said trainees do their darndest to pretend that they're NOT being stared at by the cardio-gawkers above.. The trainers are mostly young: between 20 - 30'ish - and willing to help a hand... IF you go out of the way to grab one. Don't expect help if you look confused or if you're certain you're not doing something right. (I definitely saw a lady sitting the wrong way on a machine once). Towards the side of the room, away from the watchful eyes of the treadmillers upstairs, you can do situps and pushups etc. on the mats which are near a row of equipment: weights, balls, ropes etc. Towards the back of the room are a few very large rooms for a variety of classes with seriously enthused instructors. And also a platform of cardio equipment: stairsteppers, crosstrainers, treadmills etc. which have their own individual tv's - perfect for secretly watching that show which your friends may mock you for. If you head up on the set of stairways next to that, you'll pass a Spinning classroom which is almost always packed full of happy sweaty people, and towards the cardio area which are mostly brand new Precor machines. As you walk by the treadmill-lined balcony (a.k.a. "The cardiodeck") overlooking the main floor and a set of flat-screen tv's, you'll get to where the crosstraining machines and to the Cardiotheater. The cardiotheater is FABULOUS - I've watched full movies before realizing that my feet hurt from running so many miles. There are treadmills, cross-steppers, and bikes- all arranged so you can see, and the many speakers around the room make for great surround sound. There's also a Lady Golds connected to the women's lockerroom - a small room but a decent amount of cardio and weightlifting machines and equipment.Overall, the gym has A LOT to offer and the clientele range from college-aged people, to a healthy set of grandparents; and then there's the somewhat intimidating contingent of die-hard-Golds-gym-overtanned musclemen in their tight tanktops and way-too-short-shorts. This is a group that frequents on Thursday evenings especially. (Don't say I didn't warn you). The make-up, set-up and sterility of this gym make it a bit cold, but if you can get past that, you've got all the equipment necessary (plus some) for a great work-out. I want to share an experience I have had now for just over 1 year as of this writing. I was always looking for a place that I could just work out in peace and make gains. The problem is that wasn't really happening, I mean I work out 4-5 days a week and run too but my body wasnt really changing. Thats when a friend of mine invited me to Gold's Gym when I was working out at another club and running on the beach. I was surprised to find what is a really good space in a city with very few. The club apparently was built to be a gym from the floor up and theres no beems in the way. The equipment variety blew the other club away and they included worldwide access to golds all over. What really separated them is the people there asked me if I was pleased with my results from before I joined. I said No and was kind of complaining about my genetics. They did not laugh at me, instead advised that 99% of people are like me and have to work for everything they have, but work smart. I was assigned a trainer and now have broken through the old barriers - thanks to the staff at Gold's Gym in South Beach and in Orlando where my companys headquarters is. I can go back and forth and dont have to join another gym. Thanks to the team at Golds!!! .Carl More...
My friend introduced me to Gold's Gym at a breast cancer walktathon that they were the sponsors of. When I joined Gold's Gym back in Spring, I went to Crunch and tried to work out there and was not too impressed and tried out Equinox and they did not have enough equipment I needed a trainer and was amazed at the attitude in some of the gyms but Gold's was easy to deal with and they offered me a program that works. I like their work out theater they added recently too but wish they didnt always have sports channel on. This is a really amazing gym. When you work out at this club, you are next to other people who seem to understand what it takes to keep in good form and thats not something I have seen at the other places. I've met some very good people here and the Management that I have met seem to have some spine and will kick people out of the gym if they are abusive or lack manners. This is part of what I like about the gym and its funny that this is what some people complain about. I recommend Golds to all my friends! Carol More...
As a woman in South Beach, its not easy to get a good workout and its also impossible to find places that care enough to help you. At Gold's Gym South Beach, the one on Alton Road and 14th, they've got a really good program for losing weight and getting toned up. Its the only gym in South Beach that truly has the goods and delivers what is offerred. Also, when I travel, I go to Gold's Gym in Dallas and in Orlando and I went to one in Dominican Republic. The staff are super friendly. When I came in first in early 2008, I was 25 lbs overweight and between training and working out, I am down three dress sizes and at my target weight. Everywhere else I have gone no one helped me like here. Thank you to the staff and to the trainers and group exercise instructors at Gold's Gym! More...
This gym is more or less brand spankin' new. So, it hasn't gotten that gross, sweaty, gym smell to it yet. There is a ton of parking, so no worries about that, and there are a thousand machines, so you never have to fight to get one, which is really nice.Bonuses:(1) The pool is sparkling...I have attitude about pools too, so you should be impressed by any endorsement by me.(2) movie theater...yep...in the gym....why is this a bonus...well, this one is in the dark...so if you feel like you look horrid when you work out, no one has to know...(3) Guests....they are awesome about just letting them in without charging....(4) it's a golds....so you still get the entertainment of the HUGE over muscled men pumping way too much iron....who doesn't get a chuckle out of that? People know what to expect from Gold's Gym and this one delivers. There is plenty of lifting equipment and it's all well maintained. The staff is polite and attentive. Membership is a little pushy but very polite. The tow floor design of this gym sort of turns some people off, if you like to superset often you might need to be running alot of stairs. Classes here are great and cutting edge. The gym is great overall but the price is a little above that of other gyms on the beach and they commit you for a full year. More...
Joining this gym was simple after taking a tour of the areas gyms, this one stood out as it was clean throughout and had the nicest and newest equipment in Miami Beach. Front Desk people were friendly and the personal trainers seem knowledgeable and helpful. I have taken nearly half of the classes and the instructors are the top ones on the beach and when I work out, they really seem to care about my results. With private LCD Screens on all the newest cardio machines of all the South Florida Gyms, this place is friendly and very South Beach at the same time! Staff are friendly and towel service is provided as soon as you enter. The club has boutique group fitness classes that are excellent and the ladies room is super clean.
