Probably the best vendor we used for our wedding. Beautiful arrangements, but also very flexible with our price range, weekend of logistics, etc. Can't recommend them enough!

Asked for a custom bouquet with vase (for a patient at UPMC Presbyterian nearby) featuring white lilies, set the price I was willing to spend, paid, waited under 15 minutes. .. very nice result. Knowing how expensive flowers can be, I think it was decent value for money. Walked uphill carrying it, fortunately didn't trip, gave it to the patient. Gidas was the first vendor I hired, they were recommended by our venue.

When we had our first conversation to plan, I felt sorry for the consultant. I was pressed into getting flowers by my family. I have never been interested in cut flowers or a bouquet, but my mother got really sad when I said I didn't want flowers so... the venue suggested Gidas.

At our first meeting, the consultant was energetic and happy, she didn't know that I didn't have any particular feelings about flowers. I was honest and told her. She was surprised, but very professional about it. She asked me many questions to elicit what types of flowers I would like. She guided me towards understanding my options for decor. She knew my venue well and guided me to minimalist centerpieces (apparently there is an actual name for the type of decorations I like?) that would appease my family, and not intimidate me.

This conversation with a Gidas consultant helped me realize that I needed a more solid plan for wedding planning. Her questions helped me ask questions of other vendors and organize the wedding party.

As I continued wedding planning, I gradually learned more about decorations and developed a more clear idea of the flowers I would like. I contacted Gidas and they incorporated my ideas. More...

Gidas, and specifically, Laurie was absolutely wonderful to work with for my wedding. I didn't have a precise vision of what I wanted for my wedding flowers, but at our initial meeting, Laurie helped guide me based on pictures I found on Pinterest and photos of the venue. When it came time for the mock up, it wasn't quite what we had envisioned, and on the spot she fixed it and made it perfect! I am SO happy I went with Gidas Flowers. They were a great team to work with and were very affordable and really worked with me on keeping the costs to fit into my budget while also answering all my questions (which were a lot! !)… They gave me ideas on their own while totally doing what I asked. Between my mother and I we could be kinda bossy at times (I was a bride who knew what she wanted!) and they totally worked with us and were so nice and cooperative. Amazing flowers! My bouquet and bridesmaid bouquets for my wedding were flawless. Perfectly romantic and exactly what I wanted. They listened to all the last minute changes I wanted and I was so surprised at how great they came out on the day. The reception flowers were also amazing and sat outside all day in the warm weather and overnight and were still perfect in the morning. We used Gidas for our June wedding and they were awesome! Our ceremony was at Heinz Chapel and since they are familiar with the venue, the flowers were ready to go for us when we arrived at the Chapel. During planning, we had an appointment to see the sample centerpiece for the reception and they had made a few changes to what we talked about during the consultation and I was so happy because they made additions that I was going to suggest myself. My fiancé was also particular about the boutonnieres and didn't want large flowers and they put together some eucalyptus and wax flowers and it made both of us happy. My sister is undergoing treatments at UPMC and has been staying at Family House so I was very happy to stumble upon the daily specials at Gida's. There were  times I was able to hand-deliver flowers to the staff at Family House, University place as a thank you for their selfless volunteerism. At other times I was able to grab a few flowers for my sister to cheer up her day. I was able to do this because of the reasonable prices at Gida's. Of note also was Gida's  staff who always make my selections look beautiful and wrapped them well. Today I looked at their website because I was home in Philadelphia and wanted to send something to my sister. Working with Gidas for my wedding flowers was such a relief after having less than positive experiences trying to get quotes from other florists. I spoke with Maria, who was incredibly organized and professional. I did not have very specific ideas about what kinds of arrangements or bouquets I wanted for my wedding, only vague notions, because I just do not know very much about flowers.  Maria and I exchanged emails and met over Skype. She had several proposals and explained them all to me in detail.  She was willing to work within my budget and made several suggestions to "trim the fat" and make sure we got the highest quality product and the most essential items.  On the day of the wedding, all flowers were delivered to the ceremony and reception spaces in perfect condition. I got many compliments about our beautiful flowers. Then they arranged to pick up the few items we rented from them the Monday after.  I thought the final price was incredibly reasonable, especially given the impressive level of service they provided. Gidas did an amazing job with all of our flowers. We used them for our wedding day and could not be happier. We initially had family health issues arise so we put wedding planning on hold (even though we only had a few months left) they stayed in contact and reached out to me as I had a lot going on. If it weren't for them staying in contact we wouldn't have had a florist and by some miracle they still had our wedding date available. I would not recommend waiting as they do a great job and book up fast. I changed my mind from the initial meeting months prior and did so right before the final payment. They were more than accommodating. My bouquet changed as well as the bridesmaids to entirely different flowers as well as centerpieces. On the wedding day I was so nervous since I had not seen a sample because I changed everything but I was amazed my bouquet was stunning and exactly what I wanted! The centerpieces were beautiful and really fit for our venue and reflected our style perfectly. They also did the floral arrangements for the aisle. The most amazing part besides them arriving on time and working with wedding coordinator to get everything where it needed to be was that the flowers were perfect (did not wilt out in the sun or brown and the next morning when we went to cleanup they were all still in perfect condition including centerpieces that were left in a barn overnight in middle of summer. That shows you the quality of flowers they use. The Gidases have been longtime friends of my parents, and when it came time to plan the arrangements for our wedding, there was no questions that we would go with them! Both of my sisters had their flowers done by Gidas, and they have always done such an amazing job.

Our initial meeting was with Jason. We came with pictures of types of flowers that we liked (including succulents) and ideas of color schemes. Jason was able to find flowers that complimented those that we liked, and really arranged some beautiful pieces. A few weeks before the wedding, we met back up with Jason to go over an actual piece, and it looked even better than we imagined. The team at Gidas did a wonderful job getting all of the pieces just right. They worked with our venue to set up delivery and everything was managed very well. Gida's was great. My flowers for my wedding reception turned out wonderful. The only thing I would have changed was that my bride bouquet there were a couple of ivory roses turning brown, they should have made sure these flowers were perfect! Aside from that, all was good.

I would highly recommend Gidas for wedding flowers. Jason and Laurie were great to work with. They were extremely responsive and accomodating. We were planning from out of town and couldn't meet in person for a few months. They made a mock up centerpiece and sent us a picture via email. It really helped us visualize everything.
