I got married in November, 2018 in New York, and the very talented Barbara did the flowers for my cultural ceremony/rehearsal dinner in the West Village and my wedding the following day at Brooklyn Botanic Garden (two very different vibes). She knocked it out of the park AND stayed within budget. I met with several other florists who quoted me astronomical prices, had no creative vision, and/or just did not have the personal touch that Barbara did. I worked in a high-end flower store for years and am incredibly picky, and she took every one of my visions and executed them to perfection. This woman constructed lit-up globes out of real vines and hung them from a giant glass dome! She can do anything! Gatherings made beautiful loose/casual/artsy centerpieces for my daughter's bridal shower and they were so lovely (picture doesn't do them justice). Kady used the colors and feeling I wanted with an aesthetic mix of textures and varieties. In addition I made changes to the vases at the last minute and Gatherings was so nice and accommodating. Gatherings Floral Design did my fall wedding in 2010 and it was perfect down to the last detail. I was married in a Church and Barbara handled all the decorations. I wanted something fall and festive but not insanely expensive. She did pumpkins; fall flowers and plants; and made autumn-themed flower girl baskets for my two nieces. It was classy and economical! She also made unique corsages and boutonnieres for my wedding party and family. And my bouquet -- wow! I wanted natural stems and nothing too stiff and formal. She made beautiful bouquets that fit my vision and that added to the seasonal feel of the wedding. She handled all the decorations at the venue at the Picnic House in Brooklyn. The centerpieces were wicker baskets with dazzling fall plants and flowers. Lots of flowers on the bars, tables, and throughout. She even had them in the bathroom. One of the best things about Gatherings is that they are willing to work with you on what you want. If you go in uncertain about all the details they are great at recommending what is in season and working with you make sure that your colors are the center point of your floral selection. In addition, they work quickly to make sure that they can deliver exactly what you want for your wedding day. One of the best parts of the floral arrangements that they did were that they coordinated with the cake designer to include the flowers on the wedding cake and cupcakes as well as the decorations (the ribbons on the flowers and food displays matched!) Barbara at Gatherings Floral Design went above and beyond for my floral needs at my wedding. She created stunning pieces for myself and my wedding party. My husband and I have culinary backgrounds and she was even able to incorporate herbs and edible flowers in the boutonnières and corsages! She also stunned me with how accommodating and professional she was.
